I have read, and loved, the style of writing by Levar Bouyer, and absolutely broke down in tears from Innocence in a Minor. I suppose that is what inspired this, as well as the chanting of "Vermin will suffer and die" from a friend. By the way, "Kasei ni kawatte, korosu yo" means "On behalf of the planet Mars, I will murder you". Nice speech, huh? Fukushu no Senshi means Warriors of Revenge. There is no swearing, no profanity in this fanfic whatsoever. Neither does it need any rating, any kid any age can read it. Except for one thing, the love for killing roams throughout this. This story takes place somewhere near the end of the first season. They know that Usagi is Serenity, Endymion had been kidnapped, Zoisite is dead, Kunzite is taking his revenge. And so on, and so on. To Sabrina, aka Serena of the moons of the planet Mars, for she was the one to first utter those words. She is also the one that began all the yelling at innocent people. No, Serena-chan, I am not tainted, I am not vermin. Copyright 1997, Serena Siu. Sailor Moon belongs to Naoko Takeuchi, Kodansha, Asahi TV, Bandai, DiC, and whatnot. Ai no Senshi is sung by Ishida Yoko. None of this belongs to me, except the plotline. The saying "vermin will suffer and die" belongs to Serena (Sabrina) Siu. The name "Junshin Hisako" means "Long Lasting Innocence". You can e-mail me to comment about this at naftali.shani@nortel.com, please put "Sailor Moon" in the title. So, let the torment of the demons begin, because, rightfully, they should die. Vermin Will Suffer and Die by Annie Rei relaxed in front the fire. She did not meditate, did not try to see the future. She relaxed. She needed it. She had just come back from fighting, once more. It was getting to be one fight after another. She had never gotten such a workout. But she did not mind. She did not ponder why so many youma were on the loose. That was Beryl's problem, not hers. Sailor Mars was there to fight with the power of fire, and destroy. Rei loved the fire. How it swirled around, tempting. How it threatened to kill and mutilate. How it could destroy a world, with two simple words. Or just kill youma, with those two simple words. The fire was great. Rei liked to feel as though she were part of the fire. That she was made of the blazing red heat. That she too could destroy, kill, make others suffer, and pray for their lives. The fire was tremendous. Rei stretched her arms, feeling the flames jump at them, almost getting her, but they did not. She had lived her life close to the fire, knowing that it could burn her, make her scream for mercy, relentless. Rei knew it, so she tempted the fire, giving it a taste of her, then no more. This youma had taken a Fire Soul, a Crescent Beam, a Supreme Thunder, and a Moon Healing Escalation to cure it, to take it out of its misery, to bring it back to life as a human being. Rei liked to think that the others thought that she had no feelings, she did, of course. But it was fun watching them think that she was a robot. She had feelings, many of them, but had carefully trained herself not to show any, at all. Especially not while fighting, she was to show absolutely no mercy while killing a youma. Youma were the lowest beings in creation, she had to remind herself. Today, it had been extremely difficult to bring out her fire. The youma of the week was not anyone she knew well. She had seen the girl come to the temple a few times, praying for luck at school. Rei had also seen her grandfather hitting on the girl, countless times. That girl had been through enough. Rei did not even know her name, only the fact that she was unable to protect herself from old grandpa, much less one of Beryl's henchmen. Rei had been speechless, dumbfounded, as the girl was turned into a youma, against her will. She watched as Sailor Venus, Minako, brought down Crescent Beams from out of nowhere, to hit against the innocent girl, turned into a guilty monster. She had reluctantly turned into Sailor Mars, and brought out an ofuda, prepared to banish against the demon. And dropped it. She could not do it. She simply could not hurt a girl, who was innocent against all accusations of being a youma, it had happened against her will. She could not hurt her. But what would kill the monster, and not harm the girl inside? Sailor Moon, of course. And after three simple words, Moon Healing Escalation, she was back to normal. And so was Rei. Gone were the tears, almost flowing to the surface of her eyes, bringing out her true nature, who had feelings. Rei the robot was back. She had rushed out to the girl, who was waking up. Junshin Hisako was her name. Rei made a promise to herself, then. For Hisako, she would kill the youmas. Never again would an innocent be punished for the guilty party. And the guilty party, Beryl, would pay. She would pay, dearly. Rei promised herself. And Rei never backed out of a promise. Usagi was happy. She was always happy, whether crying, or shouting, she was always happy. And she loved being happy. Usagi never wanted to be mad, no, never. Never, ever, ever, she told herself. Never. It seemed that Usagi had lied to herself. That afternoon, a girl had been turned into a youma. Not a particularly ferocious youma. But nonetheless, a youma. And Rei had nearly cried. Those had been the two most important events of the day. Never mind homework! Fighting the Dark Kingdom was much more important. Usagi had never seen Rei cry before, unless you counted that time in the Tokyo Tower, when Mamoru had been kidnapped. Usagi had watched, while all the others were fighting, how Rei had almost cried. Rei knew this girl. It was not fair that she had been turned into a monster. It was never fair. Life was not fair, Usagi knew. But as she watched the invincible Rei almost become a blubbering fool, as Usagi had become a number of times, she knew that she had to do something. Now, as she watched innocence fade, Usagi became mad. Very, very, mad. And she made herself a promise. Never again would innocent people suddenly become guilty. The only guilty ones in this game was Beryl. Beryl would die, Usagi promised herself. Ami had seen it all. She hardly ever fought anymore. She knew that she was next to useless. What harm could bubbles do? So she just stood back, and watched. She watched, always, as the other senshi's powers did harm, and she could only watch. Sure, sometimes she helped, but only when she could do nothing else. She helped with her computer, analyzing the monsters, seeing where their weak spots were. But mainly, she just watched. Today, she had watched yet another innocent, be turned into a monster. How could Beryl do that? Take ordinary people, and make them evil? Ami wished she could do something about it. Today, it had gotten out of hand. Rei, good, solid, Rei, had nearly cried. Ami knew that it was bad, because of that. Rei was the one that never showed her feelings, and did anything she could to suppress them. It was out of hand, now. Something had to be done. So that regular people did not become youma, so that Beryl would see the error of her ways, so that Rei would no longer cry. Ami knew that when something like Rei crying, which never happened, happened, that something drastic had to be done. But what? Ami felt that she was useless. But even people who feel that they are useless, have some use. Ami knew, she would have to find her use, and make Beryl pay. Something had to be done, because Rei had cried. Rei had cried. Makoto was still in shock. Of all the senshi, Rei was the least likely to show her feelings. Makoto knew that it had all gotten way too far. A fight, almost every day. A normal person, every day, becoming a monster. The others may not have realized it, but Makoto did. There was something very fishy going on here. Every day, more and more energy being drained. People were fainting on the streets. Every day, they had to find some sort of excuse to get out of class, and go to fight. Every day, it was becoming tougher and tougher to be able to fight. One person stood at the top of all of this, one person whose fault it was. Beryl. She would pay, and she would pay dearly. Makoto knew, and she would fight until she dropped dead, for all of the people who had been hurt, who had lost energy, and especially for those who had been turned into monsters. The monsters that were the cause of this all. Makoto knew, at the beginning, it had not been people that had been turned into youma, it had been actual youma who had fought. But now, the senshi had found out what Beryl had, that it saved energy turning ordinary people that had just been found on the street, into youmas. It was not fair, and Beryl knew, and probably laughed in the face of fairness, but Makoto knew, that something had to be done, and soon. Beryl was slowly winning, she may not have won the battle, but she was slowly winning the war. Makoto promised herself, Rei would no longer cry, no more tears would be shed, no more energy drained, no more youma. No more youma. No more Beryl. Makoto promised this to the moon, to the ruins of a kingdom who had paid the price for Beryl. No more youma. Minako had only known the other senshi for a few weeks, now, but some stereotypes were being made quite clear to her. Ami was the brainiac, Makoto was the fighting maniac, Rei was the uptight freak, Usagi was the crybaby, and Minako? Well, Minako thought of herself as an airhead, as Artemis had told her many times. While Rei may not have seen her, she had seen Rei. Minako had seen Rei the uptight one cry, something very rare, something that Minako was sure had never happened. Minako did not quite know what to do with this piece of information, she had not fought as long as the others had against the Dark Kingdom. But she knew a few things. For one, they were tough to beat. Second of all, they had turned people they knew into monsters. Thirdly, they must die. It was an unspoken rule among the senshi, that the cats did not know of. It was just a look passed around them, whenever something happened. They must die. Minako knew it was a bit harsh, and frankly, she did not care if it was harsh. It simply had to happen, that was all. The Dark Kingdom had hurt people long enough, from the Moon Kingdom a thousand years ago, until now. It was much too long a period for evil to reign, therefore, Minako told herself, it was time for them to die. She prided herself on that knowledge. She knew that she was powerful, and that power must be used for one thing, and only thing. They must die. Thus, with the event of Rei breaking down in tears, and with this unspoken, unofficial proclaim, revenge was spread throughout the senshi. No more would innocence be shattered, no more would evil be brought out. No more, was echoed throughout the team. No more. And hence, no more did the senshi fight to get the fight over with, and get back to being normal, now, they fought for love and justice, in the name of the planets, and for the innocence of mankind. The Dark Kingdom must die. In one particular fight, not so long after this, a youma was excersizing its non-right to live. The senshi were excersizing their right to kill. "Crescent... BEAM!" One attack. "Fire... SOUL!" Second attack. "Supreme... THUNDER!" Third attack. "Shabon... SPRAY!" Fourth attack. "Moon... Tiara... ACTION!" Fifth attack. All five attacks, and they did nothing. Sailor Moon gasped, trying to catch her breath. Sailor Mars prepared an ofuda. Sailor Mercury hurriedly typed away on her computer. Sailor Jupiter launched a punch. And Sailor Venus? She prepared herself for a Sailor V Kick, and a witty line. "Die, Vermin, die! Sailor V, Kick!" Not too shabby, Minako thought. Sailor Mars looked at Venus, "Die, Vermin, die?" "Yeah," she giggled, as the others fought, "I mean, they are vermin, no? And we do want them to die, right?" Mars managed a weak smile. "Hey," said Venus, "as the wise ones have always said, the ones who fight and win, will get their just desserts." The only thing that can describe this is: sweatdrop. Vermin, huh? Thought Sailor Mars. That seems to describe exactly what they are. Vermin. "Kasei ni kawatte, korosu yo, Vermin!" Mars shouted as she landed an ofuda on its forehead. "Moon Healing... ESCALATION!" And Moon's magic did its stuff. Before long, calling the youmas 'vermin' had spread throughout the team, every fight, which was now always once a day, had the senshi calling the monsters 'vermin', and for good reason. The senshi needed an outlet for their anger at Beryl, so yelling vermin was a good solution. And their anger was plenty. Kunzite was turning people into the vermin left and right. Even though some were still looking like ordinary people, the senshi could see right through their guise. Vermin were everywhere. "What can we do?" Makoto thought aloud, "They're everywhere. We can't just start fighting people in the middle of the street, other people might think we've gone nuts!" "That's true," Ami agreed, "I can't see any way to kill them all, without people thinking something about us." Usagi was quiet. Forming a plan needed lots of concentration. "What can we do..." she muttered. "Okay, so what we're planning on doing is killing all of them, so we can get to kill Beryl, right?" suggested Minako. "That's right, Mina-P. But how?" wondered Rei. "What if..." mumbled Usagi, still thinking, "What if we... what if we go to the Dark Kingdom!" she announced. Rei was flabbergasted, "Usagi-chan, that's the first good idea you've ever had! But will it work?" "What's to work?" Usagi shrugged. "All we do is go to the Dark Kingdom, and start killing vermin. We don't have to worry about ticking anyone off, since we're not going to be in our world. And we don't have to worry about destroying anything, since that's what we want to do!" Makoto smiled, "She's right. Let's just go, and start whipping vermin butt!" As they planned their plan, they did not notice that they were being watched by four feline eyes. "What are they thinking?" Luna gasped, "Just marching onto the enemies' land and start killing?" "Have we taught them nothing?" Artemis groaned. "They shouldn't be doing this! We have to talk them out of it!" Luna was quiet. "Artemis," she said carefully, "you do realize, that they have gotten so much out of proportion, that if we go to talk them out of this, they might think that we are vermin as well?!" Artemis was shocked, "I didn't think of that," he admitted, "it might happen. How can we get them to see that they are going crazy over this revenge thing, but not get them to think that we are the enemy?" "We can't," Luna said sadly, "we can't. All we can do is hope. Hope that they become sane again, and soon..." So they continued their watching over the senshi, saying nothing, just hoping, praying, that their beloved senshi would see what was happening to them, before it was too late. In the Gate of Time, Sailor Pluto watched. She watched the timeline go awry, spin way out of proportion. And she could do nothing about it. She saw what went wrong. Instead carefully planning his revenge on the senshi, Kunzite had picked any person, any day, to turn into a monster, or 'vermin'. Because of that, Rei had cried, the senshi felt pity, remorse, and the need for revenge on Kunzite himself. Sailor Pluto closed her eyes and sighed deeply. She should have watched the timeline more carefully. There was no going back, now. She could do nothing, but watch as the senshi destroyed their world. "Sailor..." "TELEPORT!" Those words, uttered by Luna and Artemis, very sadly, signified their letting go of the five girls, the Sailor Senshi. They had once fought for love and justice, but now, only for revenge. Revenge for the sweet Earth that had died long ago. And even though the senshi were the only ones knowing that this Earth died, they fought with all their might, and all of the power in their souls. For the wrong reason. They fought to kill the Dark Kingdom, to kill an ancient evil from long ago. They fought for sweet, sweet revenge. Revenge on Beryl, and Kunzite, and even the evil Endymion. Revenge was in their hearts, no longer love. Luna and Artemis shed tears, seeing the colours whirl about, before the warriors of former love, were gone. "Remember!" Luna cried out the dust that had once been five girls, "Remember! For love and justice! On behalf of the solar system, you must remember!" But they were gone. And, Luna and Artemis knew, forever. Even if they were reborn, they would not be the same girls. The Ai no Senshi were dead. A woman appeared on the scene, the cats knew who she was. Tears dropped from her cheeks, because she should have kept her eye on the timeline. And she sang. She sang a song from another dimension, one of happiness and sadness. "Kami ga sora ni moeagaru Karada ga honou no you yo Yada wa nande kou naru no Honto ni mou okocchau kara Koi wo shite setsunai mama Amai yume wo mitetai no ni Yurusenai aitsu-ra no sei yo Yappari watashi yarukkyanai ne Tataki-tsbushite yaru wa kono te de aku wo Sou yo sore made ganbaranakuccha Mezame-nasai aoi senshi yo" She kept crying. The future, the past, they were no longer her concern. She could do nothing anymore. She walked off, still sad, unable to do nothing, she stayed with the cats, humming. My hair is burning in the sky, My body is like a flame-- It's hateful: Why have I become this way? Because I have truly become very angry. Although I want to have sweet dreams Of being in love, I remain upset Because of those unforgivable jerks! I just have to do it, after all, right? Doing smashing Striking with these hands, I'll destroy the evil ones! Until that is done, I must hold firm. Awake, inexperienced warrior! Then, idea struck. Meanwhile, as sadness raged through the hearts of Luna, Artemis, and Sailor Pluto, anger raged through the hearts of the Sailor Senshi. They marched through areas of the Dark Kingdom, blasting anything that moved, and things that did not. Their faces were grim. They marched the way to the palace, to meet their doom, Queen Beryl. "Vermin will suffer," muttered Rei. "Vermin will die," muttered Makoto. "Vermin will suffer, vermin will die," joined Ami, Minako, and Usagi. "Vermin will suffer, vermin will die," they chanted. "Vermin will suffer, vermin will die." "Vermin will suffer, vermin will die." "Vermin will suffer, vermin will die." "For Hisako." "For Endymion." "For our universe!" "Vermin will suffer, vermin will die." "Vermin will suffer." "Vermin will die." The Fukushu no Senshi reached the palace of Queen Beryl, having killed not too many vermin. "There must not be too many of them left," Minako commented. "If there are, we will kill them," Makoto deadpanned. At the entrance to the castle, they noticed that there were no vermin guarding the gates. "Let's go in," said Ami. They walked in. No vermin, they noticed. There was no one around whatsoever. Usagi had a theory. "Either we killed them all off, which is not really possible, or they are all waiting for us, waiting, all together, to kill us..." "If they are, we'll get to them first," Rei said firmly. "Vermin will suffer," Minako mumbled quietly. "Vermin will die," said Usagi. "Vermin will suffer, vermin will die." Once they reached a large room, which Ami thought might the throne room, the chant was going loud. "Vermin will suffer, vermin will die." "Vermin will suffer, vermin will die." As they walked inside the room, Rei lit up a match. One figure, just one lonely figure stood there. "Queen Beryl?" questioned Usagi. "No." "Then who?" The person stepped forward, now illuminated. "I am..." she intoned, "Sailor Pluto." The senshi gasped. "S-sailor Pluto?" "Yes. I guard the gateway of time. The reason I have come here," she continued, "is because of Kunzite." "What about that vermin?" frowned Rei. "Because instead of carefully planning his revenge on you," she said, "he struck out at anyone. This caused you to get enraged, and lose track of your destination, which was to create peace of Earth. I made a mistake as well. I did not watch you closely enough, to see what has happened. If I let you go on your course, you would have eventually destroyed the world. I could not let that happen. So, I awoke more senshi." she pointed to three lone figures across the room. "I awoke Sailor Neptune, Sailor Uranus, and the most dangerous of all, Sailor Saturn. I figured that if you were to destroy the world," she laughed, "they might as well be there as well." "But," said one of the other three, a sandy blonde, "we got here before you. We killed Beryl, and the other so-called 'vermin' for you." "Why?" asked Rei angrily, "this was our fight!" "Just to show you," said the one in turquoise, "that you were getting out of your mind." Usagi was quiet. She slipped out of her body for a second, and surveyed the damage that her team had done. The others were right. "Thank you for showing us," she said quietly. "But how can we fix everything back to the way it was before all this?" Sailor Pluto smiled, she had been waiting for this. "I can turn back the clock. I can make sure that Kunzite does not do what he did. Hisako will be innocent, and Beryl will be killed when she is to be killed. Time will go on its correct path." "Thank you," said Usagi. Sailor Pluto smiled once more. She held up her Time Staff, which promptly sent out a brilliant white light. The senshi, inner and outer, had to shield their eyes. And then, the white turned to black. Usagi opened her eyes, slowly. She felt the pain once more. The pain that Mamoru was really Endymion, and Endymion had been kidnapped. "I'll get him back," she vowed. "But, for now, I'll just sleep," she snuggled under the warm covers. Somewhere, out of time, Sailor Pluto smiled. All was well. Time was on its correct path. The term 'vermin' would no longer exist. Everything was perfect once more.
