This story was written as a crossover. Each chapter is written from a specific point of view. For instance, all of my esteemed partner, Jagz's chapters are written from Usagi's party's pov. All of my chapters were written from Xena's pov of one of her group. Beginning with the prologue, I wrote all of the even chapters, and Jagz wrote all of the odd chapters, beginning with chapter one. She had an uneasy feeling, but couldn't place where it came from. Gabrielle kept trying to reassure her everything was alright, but she just couldn't shake the feeling something terrible was going to happen. And of course she was right. Seconds later they heard a scream, accompanied by the clash of swords. Xena and Gabrielle rushed in the direction of the scream, readying for combat. They reached a clearing, and saw a battle going on... sort of. A girl had grabbed a sword and, with closed eyes, was clumsily swinging it around, trying to hit her opponent. The bandit easily dodged the sword and was about to strike the blond, when Xena let out her, "Ayiyiyiyiyi" and let her chakram fly, straight at the bandits hand. The bandit dropped the sword and screamed in pain, while his partners charged at Xena and Gabrielle. Xena drew her sword, Gabrielle got her fighting staff ready. Sword clashes and a couple of dodges, jumps, and cries later, the bandits were defeated. "Gabrielle, I told you there was going to be trouble today. You should listen to me every once in a while," Xena was complaining. Gabrielle ignored her completely, and asked, "What about her?" Both looked toward the blond. She was still waving the sword about, her eyes still closed. Xena rolled her eyes in annoyance. This girl obviously had no practice. She approached the dumpling- headed girl (that's what her hairstyle looked like), and grabbed the sword from her hand. The girl opened her eyes in surprise. Xena glared at her and asked, "Who are you and what happened here?" The girl didn't stared blankly and answered, "Arigato. Domo arigato." Xena gave her an angry look. "Come on, talk! WHO ARE YOU!" "Aii! Gomen nasai, gomen nasai!" she cried. Xena lost her temper. "ALL RIGHT! I'VE HAD IT! START SPEAKING!!" she yelled. Gabrielle looked at the girl, intrigued. "Xena, I don't think she speaks Greek." "What do you mean, 'doesn't speak Greek'? We're in Greece, I believe everyone is required to know the Greek language. Besides, I know a lot of languages, and she isn't speaking one of them." "Come on, let's try to communicate," Gabrielle countered. She turned to the girl and pointed to herself, "I'm Gabrielle." Pointing to Xena, she said, "Xena. She's Xena." The girl nodded, as if understanding. She bowed and then pointing to herself said: "Usagi. Konnichiwa, Gabrielle-san, Xena-san." Xena was about to loose her temper again: "What's with the Xenasan? My name is Xena!!" "AIII! Gomen nasai! Gomen nasai!" Gabrielle grabbed Xena's arm, trying to keep her from striking Usagi. "Calm down Xena, she can't understand anything anyway, so it's no use to tell her to stop." Xena sighed and calmed down (a little). "This isn't going to work Gabrielle. There is no way she is going to learn Greek overnight, and we sure won't be able to teach her. And she certainly won't survive in Greece without knowing Greek." "I guess we have to take her with us and try to make the best of it." "Gabrielle, you're trying to get on my nerves, aren't you?" --- The group had traveled a couple of hours, not really managing to get anywhere far, since Usagi didn't understand any orders they were giving her. She seemed really lost and forlorn, and kept crying. Xena couldn't stand it. They save somebody, and what is their reward? A lot of gibberish. Nothing that even sounded like thank you. She was ready to kill Usagi. This stupid girl kept repeating some words, and it got on her nerves so bad. Why did the gods punish her so? They stopped at a clearing, hoping to rest for a while. Xena went to the river nearby, and found Usagi sitting there, crying again. She looked so lost... Xena actually felt sorry for her. She sat down next to Usagi, trying to find how to apologize. "I'm really sorry. I've got a nasty temper, and..." Xena didn't get any farther. The water was swirling around, getting higher and higher. Usagi's eyes grew wide in fear, and she turned to run back but tripped. The swirling water stopped, and in it's place stood a figure. "Athena..." Xena breathed silently. The goddess smiled in amusement. "Yes, Athena. I see you've got yourself a little problem Xena, warrior princess. Perhaps I can lend a hand...." Athena blew across her palm, and a breeze went through Xena. Usagi too, felt the breeze. "There. Now that little language problem should be cleared." With that, Athena just disappeared. Xena turned to Usagi. "So, Usagi, how do you like Greece?" And she was surprised when Usagi answered, "I prefer Tokyo all the same, thank you."
