Emma63@juno.com None of these characters are mine, I borrowed them from other important people, etc., etc., etc... Hope you like my fanfic, but if you don't, please don't put threat notes in my mail!!!! This is my first "Sailor Moon" fanfic, although I have written one for "Lois and Clark" (SUPERMAN, in other words). If you like this story and happen to obsess over L&C too, then I'd be more than happy to send you my other fanfic. If you like it, I need the encouragement, if you have mixed feelings, I can take constructive criticism, and...well, let's not go to that last option. :) Oh, and since I only saw the NA episodes up to where the Dark Moon sisters turn good, I wouldn't count on my being accurate for ANYTHING, and there's no SCOUT fighting scenes in this (just thought I'd warn ya) Ok, so here it is: In The Morning, Will I See You? Part 1 *-* means thoughts, and _-_ means emphasis, by the way ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Tossing and turning Morning comes, Hair in tangles Part it with fingers As though plaiting a straw rope. Wondering, will I see you? ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Walking past the shining waters of her favorite pond, Serena spotted Raye sitting on a bench with some guy. She dived for cover, and for once, her klutz-like ways were nowhere to be seen, and she was safely out of sight. *Ooh, I can't WAIT to tease Raye at our next Scout meeting!* An impish grin made its way across Serena's face. *But I gotta get closer...hey, wait a minute, that guy looks awfully familiar-* About a hundred feet away, Raye was talking to her 'date' about plans for Serena's upcoming birthday party. Well, actually, talking to him about TWO parties. Raye had had this great idea to have a fake party to throw Serena off-track a bit (she knew how nosy her friend could be), and then throw her a real one, a big bash at De Chelly, the hot new hangout that had opened recently on the other side of town. "I hate to ask you this, but do you think you could get Serena the worst possible present for the fake party?" "Sure, no problem. But if she never speaks to me again, then I'll know who to blame," Darien joked. Raye felt a twinge of guilt, knowing that the truth was, she really did _not_ want Darien showering Serena with gifts. That made her love for Darien almost impossible to bury, because she just knew she'd get jealous all over again, and it would show. Sigh. *Why can't I get over him? It isn't right! Serena and Darien _belong_ together!!* Raye could only hope that the right guy for _her_ would come along soon. "Earth to Raye!" "Huh? Oh, sorry, Darien." To herself she scolded *SNAP OUT OF IT!* Then she continued aloud, "I was thinking, we should still keep the fake party from her, okay? Then, if she finds out about it, she'll think that's all we're hiding from her and let her guard down. But we have to plan the real bash ahead of time, so that after the first party, WE can let our guards down. We won't talk about it at all whenever and wherever Serena's bound to show." "That's great! Will she be surprised... C'mon, let's get a move on. I happen to know that this is Serena's favorite pond. We'd better not run into her." *Who's that hunkmeister? I've just _got_ to get closer!* Serena edged towards the bench, and gasped at who she saw with Raye. Darien! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Luna, he doesn't love me anymore!! WAHHHHHHH! WWAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!" Serena wailed. "He doesn't love you? Of course he-" "WWWAAAAAHHHHHHH! See, even you think he doesn't love me!!" Luna looked toward the heavens for support. Serena was beyond comprehending a single word she could say in comfort. So she got Serena's attention the only way she could. "WWAA- Ow! Luna, what'd you bite me for?" "Serena, listen to me! Darien LOVES you! Now tell me what happened." Between hiccoughing from all her sobs, Serena tearfully relayed the events. Luna inwardly sighed as she realized that Serena had spotted Darien and Raye in the midst of planning the parties. *Oh well. Reassurance time. Why me?* "But you know Mars wouldn't betray you like that! Nor, for that matter, would Darien! Especially not Darien!" "You're right! I bet you Mars, that double-crossing snob, was setting out to seduce him! MY boyfriend! After all, she wanted him from the start, didn't she?!" Luna plopped onto the bed before exhaustion hit....it was going to be a LONG night. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Mina, Lita, and Ami were gathered at the library. The first two, were, of course, gabbing about guys (what else?) and Ami was studying (big surprise!). "Hey Ami, why are you such a study-a-holic? What, you're only about, oh, 12 chapters ahead!" "Well, actually, I'm 15 chapters ahead, but this topic is just so interesting-" Lita checked the cover of her friend's textbook. "Advanced Physiology?" "Ugh!" Mina and Lita grimaced. "We _are_ at the library, guys," Ami defended. "Only because it's the last place on earth we'd run into Serena." "So, has Raye filled you in yet? She hasn't told me anything except to find a really bad present for the first bash, then to get a nice one for the real thing." "That's about all she told me, too," Mina said. That left- "Lita?" "Um, I'm supposed to bake a lopsided cake, but I think that was Raye's idea of a joke, and besides, I think that'd be too cruel. Okay, so it's not just because it'd be cruel to her- I do have _some_ pride, ya know! I think I'll just whip up some goodies and go shopping at the 99 cent store. Other than that, Raye should be taking care of the details. She said not to worry, but that's what worries me. You know Raye can be kinda mean when it comes to teasing Serena. I'm just afraid that she's gonna take this fake party-thing a little too far." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Back at the temple, Raye was busily throwing herself into the preparations for Serena's birthday party, with some help from Chad. "CHAD! WHERE ARE YOU! I HAVE ANOTHER LIST OF THINGS FOR YOU TO DO!" "Coming, Raye!" Chad eagerly, if somewhat tiredly ran towards Raye, taking her orders without complaint. "CHAD, WOULD YOU HURRY IT UP?! I DON'T HAVE ALL DAY, YOU KNOW!" "I'm here, Raye. What would you like me to do for you?" He sat next to Raye on the her bed, where she had sheaves of paper spread out and several pens rolling about. "You can start by phoning De Chelly's and renting out the whole place for Serena's birthday. Then you can call up all the people on the guest list, followed by calling The Party Palace and making sure we get the decorations, and then call Lita and ask her if she's up for partly catering the second bash, if not, just ask her to make those chocolate creations that Serena drools over, either way you'll have to call the catering business, which you'll have to look up in the phone book, I didn't have any particular one in mind, only make sure it has GOOD food!! If the food is anything less than perfect, I am going to _kill_ a certain someone, and in case you don't get my drift, that someone is YOU! And of course there's..." Chad sunk lower and lower into the mattress with every word. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The Locket was playing music in the background. Looking up into the night sky, Princess Serenity saw that the stars shone with extraordinary brightness, the Moon Kingdom was honored with the lustrous glow of its namesake, and her love was standing in front of her in his suit of armor, as Prince Endymion. Prince Endymion looked into her eyes, saw the warmth which beckoned to him. Her eyes had haunted him from the start, but now that he had found his true love, those haunting eyes had been transformed into a beacon of love. She was beautiful, and she was his princess. Her white gown hugged the aura of her innocence, scooping neckline and floral patterns emphasizing the simplicity of her elegance. The circlet upon the crown of her head added a touch of regality, and her hair, in the 'meatball' shapes that he had and always would adore, bathed in the moonlight. A light, fresh scent wafted towards him as he pulled Princess Serenity closer to him. The Locket's tune faded away. They began to dance to an old melody, which had never ceased singing since it had first been conceived by the strength of two lovers destined to be. It was just as they remembered, nothing short of- perfect. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ To be continued...
