The Guardian of Time and Her Secrets
Chapter 10

	Setsuna woke up. She was sweating. The dream...all about 
her past.
	"Puu?"
	"Huh?" Setsuna saw ChibiUsa sitting at the little table. 
"Small Lady, what are you doing here?"
	"I wanted to bring you some cookies." She pointed to a plate
on the table that had chocolate chip cookies on it.
	"Thank you, Small Lady." Setsuna reached for a cookie.
	"I wanted to wake you up, but you wouldn't wake up at all. 
You talked in your sleep!"
	Sailor Pluto put the cookie back down. "Small Lady...what 
did I say?"
	"You kept saying, 'Orion, I love you' and right before you 
woke up, you were whispering, 'Orion, I won't forget you.'"
	ChibiUsa stuffed two cookies into her mouth, gulped and then 
talked again. "Puu, who's Orion?"
	Sailor Pluto looked over at her staff. The Garnet Orb on top 
of it...stained with the blood of the one she loved for several 
thousand years.
	She had never forgotten about him. Never. She had always 
worn the necklace he had given her. She had kept him close to her 
heart.
	"Small Lady, don't worry."
	"Let's have a tea party! We haven't had one in a long time!"
ChibiUsa picked up her LunaP ball and called, "LunaP, set up a 
tea party for me and Puu!"
	Instantly the table was covered with a lacy pink tablecloth 
and there was a tea set with a teapot and two cups, already filled 
with green tea. Next to each cup and saucer was a small plate 
with finger sandwiches and cookies and other sweets.
	Setsuna sat down at the table, but her mind was too busy 
thinking. 
	She had guarded the Time Gates for a long time after that. 
A very long time...
	She hated the job. But she had to keep her promise to Chronos.
She couldn't leave the gates at all, she had to stay put and make 
sure Zodos or anyone else wouldn't pass through.
	With the job as guardian of time, she could do what Chronos 
did, look into the future. And she hated knowing what would happen.
	Like the destruction of the Silver Millennium. She knew it 
would happen, but she was helpless to stop it. She had wanted so 
badly to warn Queen Serenity of the danger, but she couldn't. It
was against the rules.
	So she had stayed at the Time Gates and watched through her 
orb as each planet was destroyed. Every single one. Even her own 
planet, Pluto. 
	She was all alone once again. And she waited a thousand 
years for all of the Sailor Senshi to be reborn. She had lead a 
very lonely life as the guardian.
	But she had always remembered Orion. Always.
	"Puu! Hello!"
	"Huh?" Setsuna snapped back to attention. "Small Lady?"
	"Would you like some tea?" ChibiUsa asked.
	"Yes, thank you." ChibiUsa held the teapot and poured 
Setsuna some green tea.
	"Puu, my mommy and daddy need to talk to you."
	"What for?"
	"They want to know if you knew anything about those people 
who attacked Ami-chan."
	"Oh. All right."
	ChibiUsa started talking about things that were happening 
to her in school and Crystal Tokyo. Setsuna wasn't really paying 
much attention. She was thinking about what to tell King Endymion 
and Queen Serenity.
	The LunaP began beeping, and Serenity's voice was heard. 
"ChibiUsa, please return to the palace now."
	"Yes, mommy." The little pink haired girl sighed and she 
cleaned up the tea party. She got ready to teleport back to 
Crystal Tokyo.
	"Puu...don't worry about Orion. He could be somewhere. If my 
mommy and daddy found each other, you know it could happen for you."
	Setsuna was surprised. How did Small Lady know??
	"Bye, Puu!" she waved as she teleported in pink light.

	"ChibiUsa," her father said, "did you tell Sailor Pluto
to come here later to talk with us?"
	"Yes, daddy."
	"Good."
	"Daddy--" ChibiUsa wanted to tell her daddy something, 
but she hesitated. Endymion waited.
	"Yes, ChibiUsa?"
	"Daddy, Puu was having a very bad dream when I went to see 
her. And she kept yelling out this boy's name...Orion."
	King Endymion was silent. Orion was the son of Hades...but 
he had been murdered a long time ago. During the time of the 
Silver Millennium. People said that he had died protecting someone 
he loved.
	"ChibiUsa, are you sure?"
	"Yes. She kept saying his name over and over, and saying, 
I love you."
	His eyes widened. Perhaps Setsuna was the one Orion had 
died for!
	"Daddy?"
	"ChibiUsa, you can go now." Endymion walked quickly to the 
meeting room. He called for Serenity on the small communicator.
	She arrived in a few minutes. "Endymion, what's the rush?
Setsuna won't be here for several hours."
	"Serenity...there seems to be a lot we don't know about 
Setsuna. A *lot*. ChibiUsa just told me something very 
interesting..."
	"Such as what?" Serenity sat down next to her husband.
	"Have you ever heard of Prince Orion?"
	"Yes, the son of Hades. The one who got killed by...oh my 
god, Zodos."
	"Yes, and Zodos' men were after Setsuna earlier...I think 
Sailor Pluto has some explaining to do."

	Setsuna used her Garnet Orb to put a huge forcefield around 
the Gates of Time. *That should protect it for several hours* she 
thought.
	She teleported to the Crystal Palace.

	"The king and queen are in the meeting room now. They are 
expecting you," a maid said. 
	Pluto nodded and walked through the palace until she came to 
the large room that the Sailor Senshi would often meet in.
	The king and queen sat at the head of the table, and gave her 
a warm welcome as she entered.
	She sat down two seats away from Queen Serenity. "Hello, your
majesties."
	"Setsuna...we would like to know if you knew anything about 
Zodos," King Endymion stated.
	Her face was expressionless. "Yes...I know about him."
	"And...do you know why he came to Crystal Tokyo looking for 
you?"
	"I don't know why..."
	"Did you know him in the past?"
	Setsuna gripped her staff tighter. Why did King Endymion 
have to be so nosy? Why did he have to draw out painful memories 
that she had kept deep down inside her?!
	"Yes...he was my fiance."
	The king and queen were silent, then Serenity spoke up. 
"Why is he looking for you now?"
	"I don't know, Queen Serenity."
	King Endymion wasn't satisfied about Pluto's short answers.
"Setsuna, did you know anything about the murder of Prince Orion?"
	Setsuna was appalled at his nerve to ask her that. 
Tears came to her eyes, but she tried blinking them back. "The 
murder...yes, I knew about it." She began sobbing, thinking about 
her lost love and his horrible death.
	Endymion was surprised at Setsuna's reaction. "I'm sorry, 
Sailor Pluto. But...why are you crying?"
	"I loved Orion...more than I could ever love Zodos..."
	"So...Zodos was jealous and murdered Orion?"
	"Zodos murdered Chronos too," the queen reminded her 
husband.
	Setsuna put her face in her hands. "Oh god...your majesties,
I don't want to burden you with my problems."
	Serenity put her hand on Setsuna's shoulder. "Setsuna, it 
would not be a burden. We want to help."
	Sailor Pluto told them everything. About her past, and she 
also explained why she was the guardian of Time.
	When she was done, she sighed and wiped away her tears.
The king and queen were very surprised. They never knew anything about
Setsuna's past, and this was all shocking to them.
	"Setsuna...we never knew you went through so much in your 
life...why didn't you ever tell anyone?" Endymion asked.
	Sailor Pluto looked down in her lap. "I didn't want to bring
back all the memories...it hurt too much. And I can't let
my personal judgement affect my job as guardian...I have to keep
my emotions in check, or I won't do my job well."
	The queen smiled. "Setsuna, it'll be all right."
	Endymion frowned. "From what I hear about Zodos...I don't 
like him. At all."
	His wife tapped him on the shoulder. "Endymion, not now."
She clapsed her hands together. "Let's hope Zodos doesn't do 
anything crazy..."
	"Right. I'll call the senshi and tell them to strengthen the
barriers around Crystal Tokyo and the palace," Endymion said. "And
Setsuna, keep a watchful eye on the Time Gates."
	She nodded, and stood up from her chair. "Have a good day,
your majesties. Good bye."
	Sailor Pluto walked out of the room, only to be greeted by
Small Lady.
	"Boo! Hi Puu!"
	Pluto smiled. "Hello, Small Lady."
	"Puu, can you take me to buy ice cream?"
	"All right."
	They stepped out of the Crystal Palace and outside, it was 
warm and sunny. People were walking around, chatting and laughing.
	ChibiUsa and Setsuna walked to the Crystal Plaza, which
was right next to Serenity Park. The park itself was large and
beautiful, named after the queen. 
	They found the small ice cream shop that they liked going 
to, and ChibiUsa ordered a strawberry cone.
	"Oh, hello, Princess Usagi!" the lady said. She handed 
ChibiUsa the cone with double scoops on it and rainbow sprinkles, 
her favorite.
	Setsuna sat down on a bench next to ChibiUsa. While the
princess was busy licking the ice cream, Setsuna was mindlessly 
looking around.
	The flowers...there were newly planted flowers near a 
fountain in the center of the plaza. They were lavender roses.
	She remembered the party at Michiru's palace...where she 
had met Orion the second time. And he had given her a lavender 
rose...a Hadian rose.
	ChibiUsa pointed to the roses. "Look! Mommy got the gardeners 
to plant more roses, and those are such a pretty color, aren't 
they, Puu?"
	Setsuna did a double take. *Oh my god...* she thought.
	There was a man standing by the roses. With black hair, and 
a black uniform. He turned around, and she could see a dark red gem 
on his shirt sparkle brightly.
	He noticed her staring at him, and he was looking at her 
oddly. 
	Setsuna began sweating. That man looked exactly like...
	Orion.
