Title: Darien's Aim, Serena's Burden Author: Fifi E-mail: fidelia_ho@hotmail.com ICQ #: 19109958 It's been awhile since I got the first part out...I doubt it surprises anyone if any part takes weeks to get out. But oh well. That is Fifi for you! Part 2 (revised) A teenager's life is the best! Well, at least for me. I love my life and so do many others as I have witnessed. Having many friends, girlfriends, awards, and titles, I'm one of the most popular in Juuban High if not the most popular person. Not only do I have all that, but I also get to see beautiful Serena everyday. Serena can be described with one word:perfect. Sure, you say that nothing and no one can be perfect, but she is the closest by far. She rivals my popularity, being both smart and beautiful. Along with these, she has many men chasing after her, much to my dismay. We are perfect for eachother even if she herself doesn't see it. Being the top students and much more, we have much in common. Although she has stopped speaking to me for whatever reason, I know that someday we will be together. I hope. She can have whomever she wants, yet she doesn't even give me a second glance, Mr. I'm-too-good-to-be-true Chiba. We've always been in the same school from grade 5 onwards...and we're always in the same class. You'd think that for two people who have been in the same classes for six and a half years would be good friends. Somehow, I get the feeling that she doesn't like me all the much. I wonder why? All I ever am is good to her. I even have a pet name for her:Meatballhead. I mean, any girl would give anything to be acknowledged by me like that. What did I do wrong? It's funny. As I have said, we've known eachother since grade 5 but even before then, we knew eachother although not many people know that. Our parents are really good friends. I believe that they even attended the same highschool. Good friends who see eachother often and even spend the holidays together. We are practically family. It's strange. Sure, she talks to me to be polite. Her parents would probably ground her or something for not talking to me, for being rude. I wonder what I did to her. In science today, Prof. Suzahara states that we will be doing a week long project about something.( I'm not listening, but I certainly hope my partner to be is!) Come on! Come on! Announce who is going to be paired up with whom, old man! I haven't all day! *sigh* Please, don't let me get paired up with any of the cheerleaders! They are such snobs and a little too clingy for my taste. "I was going to let you choose your own partners for this project, but considering how it went last time we did this, I'm going to pair you up. Or would you rather have fate decide your destiny by drawing names out of a hat?"asks the professor. Hmmm.....To have him choose, I could end up with Melvin for all I know. But to draw from a hat, I could end up with *shudder* Ann....either way, they are both bad... "It seems the majority is in favor of the hat. Alright then. Students, please write your names on the piece of paper that's being passed around." D'oh! Ok, well, I guess I have a better chance to be with a friend by this lot, but also an equal chance to be with anyone else. Writing on the slip of paper, I pray. Please, give me someone smart! Someone who wouldn't do all the work just to get my approval! Someone who would work as a team. Not someone who would do all the work, none of it, or half of it! Having received the piece of paper, Prof. Suzahara starts to rip them up into smaller pieces and it looks like he is sorting them out, putting one pile into his left desk drawer and the other into the right. Before drawing, he says, "We have an equal number of boys to girls in this class this year, so the partners will be girl-boy." Pausing for a moment to draw the first pair, everyone waits in anticipation. "Andrew and Rita." Lucky guy! Gets to go with his girlfriend and I probably get stuck with someone I don't even know! "Gregory and Amy." "Kenneth R. and Lita." "Martin and Margaret." "Nicolas and Elizabeth." "Kenneth B. and Patricia." "Larry and Annie." ...... ....... ........ "Howard and Mina." Hmm.....the last one is me and......who else has he not mentioned? Looking around the class I catch Serena's eye. Waitaminute! Why does she look so surprised? Can it be? Finally, the Prof. announces, "Darien and Serena." Yes!! My prayer has been answered!!!! I feel like dancing on top of this desk here and now!!!!!! Everyone seems to be happy with their pairings. Everyone, excluding Serena, that is. ~end Part 2~ So, what did you think? I know at least one thought running through your mind...short, right? yeah well, that's how I write. Can't help it!
