wasn't wrapped. So, I took the liberty to wrap it for you. Gomen if you
had a hard time reading it before. Nothing changed in this part though.

     Rei sat in front of the sacred fire and started to chant. Mamoru sat beside her
closing his eyes in concentration. The other girls sat on the side watching them. 
Chibi-Usa was sitting beside Ami, who was supporting her while Mamoru was helping Rei.

     Everyone was quiet as Mamoru and Rei worked to find Usagi.

     Mamoru opened his heart and mind to find the woman he loved. He was having a hard
time looking for her, something was preventing him from finding her. He tried again and
again to find even a faint light as to where Usagi might be.

     Thirty minutes passed neither Mamoru nor Rei moved from their positions. Mamoru
was looking in the darkness for that faint light that will lead him to his love. But
nothing was working. Frustrated Mamoru tried a different approach. He thought of the 
things he loved about Usagi, their times together, the loving moments. Little by little
he remembered them, looking for them in his memories bringing them to focus and held
them there. 

     The girls were starting to worry when nothing seemed to happen. It was Minako who
felt rather than saw the change. She glanced at Mamoru, as she felt a tug in her heart,
a tug that said Mamoru was trying to find that broken link, bond with Usagi. A flicker
in the fire brought her eyes there. The others noticed it to, each anticipating what
the fire might show them.

     Rei was really concentrating hard, feeling the aura coming from Mamoru and 
interpreting them. She hadn't any good leads from the aura he was sending. Nothing
that will tell her where they may find Usagi, she was just about to suggest they stop
when she felt something. It was faint but still there, it took every energy she had to 
concentrate on it. When she got hold of it she never let it go and started to look into it.
She opened her eyes a fraction still holding on that thin light and looked at the fire,
what she saw there both delighted and frightened her.

     Delighted because they now know where Usagi is.

     Frightened because it was one place she never wanted to go to again.

     What the Mamoru's feelings showed them was a place they will never forget. A place
they never thought they might set foot on again. A place where all of their dreams 
disappeared. A place where their lives eneded. A place as cold as ice. A place called
the North Pole.

     The queen entered her chambers to start the final preparations. As she did so she 
glanced at the table beside the bed, a gesture she had been doing since the beginning of 
her plan. She stopped dead in her tracks as anger showed in her face. ~That was't supposed
to happen!!~ She thought angrily, as she made a detour towards the table.

     She had carefully planned the whole thing and this wasn't supposed to happen!!! She
thought frustratedly. She looked at the object on the table with anger, she wanted to
crush the thing with her bare hands. But she couldn't do so if she wanted to control
everything that was happening. 

     She snatched up the object and studied it's contents color, then swirled the liquid
within. She knew she mixed it enough so that nothing could break the spell she made but
something was starting to make changes. She made her way towards the cabinet near the
bed and retrived a glass cylinder full of amber liquid. She then poured it into
the container in her hands. Satisfied with the result she replaced the glass cylinder.  
And walked back to the table and placed the object on it again. 

     ~Though you may find her my prince, You will never have her again!!!~ She thought smugly 
as she made her way towards the other end of the room to get the things she needed.

     Mamoru clutched his head at the searing pain he felt and doubled over. "Papa!!" 
Chibi-Usa cried as she clutched her father's arm.

     Rei gasped as well, "Mamoru!!! Enough!!! Let go!!!" she cried out.

     Ami, Makoto and Minako just sat there, staring at Mamoru. "What? What happened?"
Minako asked not understanding what was happening.

     Mamoru opened his eyes and took large gulps of air as the pain mercifully receeded
as he let go. "What was that?" he whispered looking at Rei who shook her head. 

     "You got me. I don't know either." she answered.

     "Will somebody please explain what just happened?" Makoto asked frustratedly.       
       
     Mamoru sighed and laid down on the floor. "Papa?" Chibi-Usa asked fearfully settling
beside Mamoru and touching his arm.

     "I'm alright Chibi-Usa just give me a minute." Mamoru said placing a hand over his
daughter's and smiled.

     Rei glanced at the others and looked at the fire again.

     "Someone felt us looking for Usagi." Rei replied. "Fortunately, I was able to
pinpoint where Usagi is before, whoever felt us gave Mamoru the terrible headache."

     Minako cocked her head to the side and asked. "Well, where is she then?" when Rei
hesitated.

     Rei looked at the other's and quietly answered. "At the Dark Kingdom's former
hideout. The North Pole."

     "Are you sure?" Makoto had whispered brokenly. When nobody seemed to want to break
the silence.

     "Yes, I'm sure." Rei had answered.

     "Of all the places in the world! Why did they have to pick that?" Makoto cried.

     Rei shrugged. "I wouldn't know. But the point is we found her, and now we must
take the necessary steps to go there once again."

     "Rei's right," Ami said softly. "We have to go there, even if we are scared to go 
there once again. We have to go and rescue Usagi."

     "Yeah, I know but I..." Makoto hesitated, "I... I'm scared stiff of thinking we 
might not come back."

     "I know how you feel Makoto, I died there too remember?" Minako said looking at
the brown haired girl. "We might be risking our lives, but we have to do this in order
to save Usagi-chan."

     "Yeah... I guess your right." Makoto said.

     Mamoru heard the exchange but said nothing as the same thoughts rolled in his head.
He had lost Usagi during that battle with Beryl. But he vowed he will not lose this
battle with her sister. 

     "So, How do we get there?" Mamoru asked from his position on the floor.

     Rei glanced at him and answered. "We go there through the portal at the Crown Game
Center behind the Sailor V game. If the portal is still there that is."

     Mamoru jerked up from his position, and looked at Rei as if she had gone bonkers.
"Run by that to me again? How do we get to the North pole?" 

     "We go through the portal behind.... wait don't you know about that one?" Rei asked
suddenly.

     Mamoru shook his head. "Uh-uh. I don't. Nobody told me." Sweat drop could be seen 
around the room.

     "Well, so now you know." Rei said shaking her head.

     Using his left foot, Mamoru closed the door to his apartment then carried the sleeping
Chibi-Usa into his bedroom. He gently placed the child on the bed, took off her shoes
and covered her with a thin sheet to ward of some of the night's chill. He brushed
a hand on her forehead and quietly left her. He left the door to his bedroom slightly 
ajar so that he could hear her when she woke up.

     He entered the bathroom, took a quick shower, then changed into a pair of shorts 
and a T-shirt. Feeling refreshed, he went into the kitchen and poured himself a glass
of milk. When he finished it, he cleaned and stored the glass away. Still quite awake,
he made his way towards the balcony. The night breeze caught his black hair and ruffled
it. Mamoru sighed as he gazed into the night.

     Tomorrow they were going to their enemies hide out. A mixture of dread and anticipation
was keeping him awake. He hoped that they were not to late in saving Usako. He looked up at 
the moon which was half covered by clouds. Much like of what he felt, with out Usagi beside 
him he did feel as if half of him were gone. Now that he had his focus again, he knew he'd 
do anything to keep the future as it is.  

     He really had to thank Setsuna with the things she said to him. He couldn't think of 
what might happen if he didn't. It wasn't as if he didn't really want to look for Usagi. But 
that something was preventing him from doing anything. He couldn't understand that even now.
Luckily for him the seishi of time, took the liberty of telling him what might happen or 
rather what was going to happen in the future if he didn't shape up.

     Mamoru turned from the moon to gaze out again into the night.

     ~Hang on, Usako. We're coming to save you.~ He thought.

     "Okay. Is everybody ready?" Luna asked as she and Artemis stood beside the portal.
It was already time to go and save Usagi, and the girls including Mamoru and Chibi-Usa were 
doing last minute preparations before venturing back to the North Pole.

     "Yeah I guess so." Rei said as she glanced at the others for their confirmation. 

     "Let's get going then." Luna said as she and Artemis lead the way.

     "You okay Chibi-Usa?" Ami asked as she turned to look at the little girl.

     Chibi-Usa nodded from beside Mamoru and walked behind them. They all walked in silence. 
The cave they went into was like that of before. Dismal and dark, cold and forbidding, the 
wing was biting as they made their way further into the cave. Luna looked back at the girls 
and sighed, she glanced behind them towards Mamoru and Chibi-Usa. The pallor on Chibi-Usa's 
face was clear to see, even in her sailor form, she hoped that Chibi-Usa would hold out for 
Mamoru's sake as well as Usagi's.

     They reached the end of the passage, where the cold wind and snow were raging. They 
were in the North Pole, back to where their lives once ended, and which may end once again.

     "Well, I guess this is it. We can't go back now.  We have to do this all the way. 
Ready minna?" Rei asked. As ahe turned to the other's who nodded. "Okay then lets go." With
that they headed out to the mouth of the void where the Dark Kingdom once was.

     "At last they have come." The queen said, as she made her way towards her throne. 
Akira who was leaning against a pillar straightened at that.

     "They are?" He asked as he glanced at his queen. The queen smiled and nodded. She 
whistled softly and the black panther bounded up to her. It purred when she stroked it 
silky black mane. "Yes, they are." She confirmed. She glanced at him and smiled. 

     "Is she ready then?" she asked.

     Akira nodded, he turned and gestured for Usagi to come forward. The queen smile 
widened as she looked at the girl walking towrads her.
    
     Wearing a black silk strapless gown, Usagi looked like an angel in black.  The gown 
itself was figure hugging with a long slit at the left side, which started at her hips down 
the lenght of the gown. Her hair hung unadorned and left loose about her shoulders, where it
reached the back of her knees. A necklace of gold and a pendant of onyx encircled her 
slender neck. A pair of Onyx earring hung on her earlobes, a braclet on her right wrist, an 
anklet on her left ankle and a pair of black high heeled shoes on her feet.

     The queen looked at her approvingly. ~ Ahhhh! My sister at long last I can now avenge 
your death! ~ she thought smugly. 

     "It is time. Akira, send out a couple of our minions to buy us sometime. The final 
piece of our plan is at hand and we need to prepare for it." She ordered. Then turning 
towards Usagi she said. "Follow me."

     "Brrrr... It sure is cold." Minako said as she walked beside Makoto. "You could say 
that again." Luna said from her position on Ami's shoulder. Artemis nodded his agreement 
from his position on Minako's shoulder. The girls along with Mamoru and Chibi-Usa had 
reached the entrance to the cave where the Dark Kingdom had once hidden in. They were now 
progressing deeper to find their friend. 

     "Hey Rei can't you use your flame to give us some heat here?" Minako asked. Rei looked 
over her shoulder and shrugged. "We can't risk it." Glancing behind Minako Rei saw that 
Mamoru was already carrying Chibi-Usa, concerened Rei slowed down. 

     "Mamoru, how's Chibi-Usa?" She asked stopping altogether.

     Mamoru glanced up and hugged Chibi-Usa more tightly. "She's fine for now. She started 
to disappear again." He whispered. The fear he felt was there for them all to see. It 
really was unnerving to see the person they all thought to be cold and heartless is the 
most sensitive of them all. Rei walked over to him and touched his arm. 

     "Hang in there Mamoru. We will save them so don't give up hope." Rei said softly, 
unable to bear the fear she heard in his voice. Mamoru nodded silently as he clutched 
Chibi-Usa's form. He was terrified when a few minutes ago Chibi-Usa had started to fade 
again beside him. Fearing that she may leave him for good, he snached her up into his arms 
and hugged her tight. He didn't say anything to the other's because he feared that he would 
breakdown and cry. He didn't want them to see that nor his daughter for that matter.

     Chibi-Usa stirred, and glanced up at her father. "Papa..." she whispered softly. 
Mamoru looked down at her and forced a smile. 

     "Hey, you okay now?" Mamoru asked. The others stood by silently not wanting to 
disturb them.

     "Yeah, I'm fine. Its just that I feel so weak." Chibi-Usa said sighing. Burrowing 
deeper into her father's arms. 

     "Maybe we should just rest for a while," Ami suggested as she made her way towards 
Mamoru. Mamoru was about to agree, when he felt a cold chill go down his spine. He stiffened
and glanced around. 

     "Everybody, stay alert!! I feel an evil presence nearby." Rei cautioned, as she felt 
the very samething. Looking around them for any sign of the enemy. 

     "Minna!! Be careful!" Luna cried out as she and Artemis jumped down.

     Makoto and Minako made their way towards the others. When they reached them, the four 
seishi surrounded Mamoru and Chibi-Usa determined to protect them both at all cost. 

     There was nothing for a minute, then a black cloud started to form around them. Out 
came two minions, one was a griffen and the other a two headed tiger. 

     "Guys, I think we have our hands full." Minako said as she stared at the two headed 
tiger. 

     "Now that's an under statement." Rei said as she faced at the griffen before her.

     The fight began. Rei jumped to the right as a strong wind came hurtling towards her. 

	"Burning Mandala!" Rei cried out.

     The attack struck its intended target but it didn't slow it down a bit. She tried again
but got the same result. Ami who was with Rei tried her own attack.

        "Shine Aqua Illusion!!"

     The griffen just took it all in and unleashed an attack of its own. Rei and Ami jumped 
for cover. "Mamoru look out!!" Rei cried when she saw that attack was going their way. 
Mamoru looked up at Rei's shout and jumped to safety just in time with Chibi-Usa. 

     "Guys!! our attacks don't do a thing to slow these guys down!!" Makoto shouted at them 
as she dodged a fireball coming her way.

     "Yeah!! It's true!" Minako hollered as well. 

     "Damn it! Now what do we do?" Rei muttered as she eyed the two minions.

     "Try running away." a voice said.

     Mamoru jerked at that voice and whirled around to look deeper into the cave. Slowly, a 
man walked out of the darkness to stand before them. He smiled at their expressions 
especially the one from Mamoru. 

     "Ah so the prince has decided to show. I had thought that you would leave your precious
princess with me." Akira said.

     Mamoru looked at him murderously. "That's where you're wrong! I wouldn't leave Usako to
you even if you were the last man on earth!" he said.

     Akira's smile vanished at that. "Think I would believe you? when you yourself left me 
and my brother to die?" He asked angrily.

     Mamoru frowned at that. The girls stood silently, guarding Mamoru and Chibi-Usa while 
listening to the exchange. Luna and Artemis by this time were at Mamoru feet, looking at the
man in front of them.

     "Left you and your brother to die? When did I do that? I didn't..." Mamoru started to 
say when Akira interrupted him.

     "You have such a short memory then. A pity then that you would never know why I hate 
you!" Akira sneered as he commanded his minions. The onyx on his hand glowed and the two 
minions charged towards them. Rei and Ami formed a spiraling fire and water attack that 
struck the griffen which it deflected using its wings to make a strong wind. Makoto and 
Minako themselves formed a chain of lightning and encircled the tiger, it forced its way 
free breaking the chain in the process. "Nothing you do will stop them!" Akira said smiling.
"Go finish them off!!!" So saying the onyx in his hands glowed again. Noticing this Ami 
quickly scanned her computer, while the other's tried to attack the minions. 

     "Minna! Aim for the onyx in his hand the minions incredible power comes from there." 
She said as she quickly tucked the computer in her space pocket and called out an attack. 

     "Shabon Spray!!" 

     The mist quickly covered the area, it gave the seishi some semblance of cover while 
they try to destroy the onyx. Akira cursed as he tried in vain to see through the thick 
mist. 

     "You cannot hide in this mist for long." He cried. Commanding the griffen it used its 
wings to blow away the mist. When the mist cleared akira saw that he was to late. Coming 
onto him was a ribbon of lightning and a chain of hearts. The chain encircled him trapping 
him, the ligthning stuck the onyx which shattered in his hands.

     "You think you have won?" He asked half crazed with anger. "KILL THEM!!!" he screamed.
The griffen and the tiger did as they were told. The griffen used its wings to make a great 
vortex that sucked the seishi into it, while the tiger stood in the middle ready to unleash 
its fury when they got close. 

     "Minna!! What do we do now?" Minako asked as she let go of the chain she had held onto 
and grabbed a rock to keep from being sucked into the vortex. Mamoru who was still holding 
Chibi-Usa and barely keeping himself from being towed away, called out. "Try attacking them 
from within the vortex that should do it!" Rei gripped the rock in front of her and looked 
at the swiriling wind. "Won't our attacks go haywire when we do that?"

     "We'll risk it!! otherwise we're not going to be able to get out of this mess!!! The 
trick is to release the attack when your near enough!! Timing is crucial for this!!" He 
shouted.

     Akira laughed. "You think you will live?" He mocked as he looked on. "Nothing you do 
will help you through this."

     Rei looked at the others. "Hey Makoto! You and me okay?" She asked over the roar of 
the wind."

     Makoto nodded. "Ami! you and Minako try to keep from being sucked in. If any of our 
attacks do go haywire, you form an ice shield around Mamoru and Chibi-Usa!" Rei cried out.

     "Hai! We understand!' Ami shouted as she gripped the rock in front of her.

     Rei looked over at Makoto and nodded "Lets go!!" She shouted and released her grip 
from the rock. Makoto did the same and they were both quickly sucked into the vortex. When 
they were near enough. Rei shouted her attack as did Makoto. Rei's burning flame struck the 
griffen burning its wings and Makoto's lightning struck the open mouth of the tiger 
electrocuting it in the process. Rei and Makoto landed on their feet breathing hard.

     Ami and the other's leaned against the rocks greatfully. Akira looked at his minions 
and growled. "You will pay for that" he said as he advanced forward. The girls stood ready 
for any attack. 

     "Leave him to me." Mamoru said as he straightened from his position. He had left 
Chibi-Usa near the rock where he had took shelter to avoid any harm to come to his future 
daughter. Rei and the others turned towards him as he made his way towards the front. "You 
girls rest up a bit. Take care of Chibi-Usa while I deal with this." He said as he passed
Rei. The other's nodded and backed away. Akira smirked, "So you intend to deal with me huh?"

     Mamoru just looked at him. "Tell me Akira why do you hate me? What did I do to deserve 
your hatred?" Mamoru asked as he stopped. Akira looked at him in contempt. "Tell you?" Akira
snorted. "I don't have to tell you! I'll show you instead how much I hate you!!" He shouted 
charging at Mamoru. He jumped and threw a black rose at Mamoru. Stepping to the side to 
avoid it, Mamoru wasn't prepared for the strong blast it made when it hit the spot he stood 
only moments before.
  
     "What the hell..." Mamoru started to say when he happened to glance up and saw a 
bombared of black roses coming his way. Cursing under his breath Mamoru jumped this way and 
that to avoid the roses being thrown at him. Breathing hard as he landed, Mamoru glanced at 
the holes on the ground. 

     "Surprised you didn't it?" Akira said as he held a rose in between his fingers. "These 
roses explode when they hit something or anything for that matter. The ones I threw at you 
before were just plain steel tipped roses."  

     Mamoru just looked at him. "I'd rather know about why you hate me rather than hear you 
gloating." Mamoru taunted as he slowly stood up. Akira stared at him and sneered. "You 
really are persistent aren't you?" He said as he threw another set of exploding roses 
Mamoru's way.Anticipating it, Mamoru hurled a couple of his own roses to intercept them. 
They exploded a few feet away, as the dust cleared, Mamoru was able to see his opponent 
once again. This time Akira charged and swung his cane. Mamoru defended himself using his 
own cane.

    "You want to know why I hate you?" Akira asked as he swung the cane again. Mamoru 
jumped and threw an attack of his own. "Wasn't that what I said a while ago?" Mamoru
 replied, as he blocked Akira's attack. 

    Akira thrust his cane and elbowed Mamoru, stunned Mamoru took a step back, regained his
balance then gave an attack of his own. 

    Akira grunted as Mamoru's cane struck his abdomen, gritting his teeth, Akira charged 
and swung his cane again. "I'll tell you then!!"  He said eyes blazing with hatred for the
prince he once regarded as a friend. "I hate you because you left me and my brother to die 
in that forest the day the Moon Kingdom was destroyed!!"
