*Disclaimer* Sailor Moon and everything and anything having to do with her is strictly the property of Anime. The X-Men though belong to Marvel comics. Everything in this is entirely fictional. I'd also like to add that some of the character descriptions are taken from a Marvel comic. Before going any farther I would like to give a full cast of characters since some Sailor Moon fans may not have heard of the X-men. So here they are, the "people of the Drama."(I'm not wasting time and space on the sailor scouts. You're supposed to know them!) Magneto- Mr. Big Bad Mutant himself. The eternal enemy of the Xmen. Kind of sad really cuz he and Prof. X were at one time great friends. Now they are worst enemies. Anyway, he lives for the dream of mutants inheriting the earth rather than Xavier's, which is mutants and humans living together. He is, in my opinion, a dangerous terrorist who nearly destroyed the earth's magnetosphere. He has grey-silver hair and piercing eyes. He wears a red and purple suit. And, oh yeah, his first name is Magnus. I wouldn't insult the Master of Magnetism if I were you though. He'd probably magnetically pull your kidney out through your nose. And if he decides your not worthy of his personal attention, well, he'll just out the Alcolytes after you or: The Brotherhood of Evil Mutants! Magneto's earliest band(I think. I don't pretend to be an expert on the earlier Xmen years) of mutants they are pretty much exactly what they say they are. Quicksilver- He talks and acts faster than he thinks sometimes. That sometimes causes problems and also gives everyone the opinion that he's quite arrogant. He's really Magneto's son but at the time I'm placing Quicksilver he doesn't know that. His real name is Pietro Maximoff. He has silver hair, not unlike his father's. He could run circles around Donovan Baily. In fact, if he ran fast enough he could send you up in a small cyclone. He can also spin himself around in mid-air, cushioning an impact. The Scarlet Witch- Pietro's sister actually. She can create a hex field that, when aimed at someone or something, can make anything remotely possible, happen. So long as it's possible. Like tripping over a crack. It may happen or it may not but if Wanda(that's her name) casts a hex field on you, it's almost sure to happen. It sounds like a wimpy power but she can use it to turn mutant powers on themselves i.e. she can make a lightning bolt Storm had aimed at her hit Storm instead. She can be dangerous. She and her brother become Avengers later on in life as some of you Marvelites know, but at this time, they're part of the BEM. Wanda has dark hair. Toad- A man with zero self-respect. When I saw him in "Access Unlimited" he was all over Magneto like some dog. He did all but slobber on him. He's incredibly acrobatic. That's about all I know about him but I'll try to work with it. (Some people have argued that he's really intelligent but not from what I've seen) Mastermind- He creates illusions. I can't really tell you what he looks like because when I saw him he was wearing a cape with the hood up. The Blob- He's huge! If only his IQ were as much as his weight though. He's an idiot! But still, he's tough to kill, hurt or even so much as move. "the Blob don't move fer nobody." He's got brown hair and a gigantic waistband. Mystique- Spy extraordinaire. From the little I've seen of her she's pretty evil. She's really hard to describe physically because she's a shape-shifter. In an unconscious state though she's blue with a skimpy white dress and red hair. Did someone mention blue? Why, here's a strange coincidence! Nightcrawler is also blue! Any guesses why? He's Mystiques son! She abandoned him as a baby whereafter he was raised by gypsies and... wait a second I was talking about Mystique wasn't I? Mystique is also Rogue's adopted mother and partially responsible for Rogue's sapping Miss Marvels superpowers. At this point in time she's Sabretooth' girlfriend. Sabretooth- And you thought Wolverine was a loose cannon! Sabretooth ain't just evil, he's insane too! He and Wolvie also used to be best friends too. Now they both go out of their way to kill each other or, Sabretooth does anyway. Sabretooth is also Canadian (Hooray! I think) He has blond hair, a healing factor like Wolverine an admantium laced skeleton and admantium claws. (Wolverine also had an admantium skeleton and claws but he lost them. Admantium is the strongest metal in the Marvel universe I think.) He's also kind of catlike. He can see in dark but only black and white etc. And now what you've all been waiting for, Marvel/Anime Crossover: One Marvelous Day ***** Serena walked home sadly. She felt sorry for Marrow. Not for her ugliness, but for how Marrow refused to see the goodness inside her. When she entered her house she got a triage of crying from her mom and then a whole lot of yelling when her parents demanded where she and Rini had been. Obviously Rini had left all the explaining to her. Well, she'd have to tell the little brat off later, right now she had to think of a good explanation for having been missing for almost a week. Thinking quickly she remembered the evacuation that had been taking place. "Well, you really won't believe it. I was taking Rini for a walk to Mina's when we were approached by a whole bunch of soldiers. They told us we'd have to go with them. I asked why and they told us it was because of the weird crystal which had shown up. They took us and Mina all the way across town and made us stay with a relatives of Mina's. It took us all this time to convince them we didn't live by the crystal and to let us go back." "I thought Mina didn't have any relatives. At least around here." said her father suspiciously "Oops. Did I say Mina? I meant Ami of course." "Why would they take you to Ami's?" "Ummm. Because Ami was with us. Did I forget to mention that too?" "Yes. You did." "Well. That's what happened. Where else could I have been?" "True..." answered her mother slowly Before she could be questioned any further though, Serena flounced up the stairs as carefree as ever. There was Rini waiting for her. "Where's Luna?" "She's watching the Xmen." "Oh." "Y'know, you could of at least said hi." "Hmph. I have to go to school now." "No wonder your such a grouch. I hate having to go to school. But I don't. The school in our district is closed." "Well I like school. So there." "Well I don't. So there." Rini stomped off down the stairs in a very grumpy mood. "Guess the little monster was up too late last night." Serena then realized just how late she'd been up. She gave a huge yawn and threw herself down on the bed. It had been a long night. She was fast asleep long before Rini had even left for school. ***** "What've you got there Ami?" asked Lita "It's the crystal that was inside the Negademon. I noticed it was different from that of the sisters. Now I'm running a comparison scan between the sisters crystal and the one we just found. You should see the different energy the antimatter is producing. And look at how the quarks are forming! And the formation of the molecule. I don't think I've seen this type of element before." "Ummm. Right." said Jupiter slowly. " Suffice to say that this is the power source of the drone like with the Sisters but way more powerful." "Oh." "I think it may have been that strange man in blue that created it." Mercury went back to running scans, muttering to herself about things that only someone like Stephen Hawkins would understand. Jupiter meanwhile was engaged in shadow boxing. She felt completely hyped since saving the Xmen. Finally though, after about an hour, exhaustion began to creep in on both of them. Jupiter yawned "I'm hitting the sack. Do you want a pillow and blankets for the couch?" "That would be nice." said Ami gratefully Ten minutes later, they were both in bed. Asleep. ***** "Thanks for letting me stay at the temple Rei." "No problem Mina. You'll have to put up with Chad's so-called singing though." "Ha! I'll just buy earplugs. But I thought he and your grandpa would have evacuated already." "Yeah, me too but grandpa refuses to leave and it turns out that Chad wasn't going unless grandpa was safe. It was kind of nice of him." Rei whipped around. Chad was noisily strumming his guitar. "Quit making such a racket Chad or you'll wish you had of evacuated long ago." "Sheesh. Don't have a cow Rei. I'll go practice in the backyard if you've got such a problem with it." Rei and Mina watched him go. "Anyway Rei, I'm totally sacked. Let's get to bed." They headed off to Rei's room where, after getting out a cot for Mina, they both instantaneously collapsed on there beds in a deep undisturbed slumber. ***** It was a different story all together for Darien. Unlike the others, Darien was feeling this niggling sense of impending danger. He would have shrugged it off as his overprotectiveness to Serena because of her return from "the dead" but he didn't want to leave her alone. Not for a second. He had silently shadowed her all the way home. He was a bit worried that her father might spot him stalking her though. That would cause quite a scene. And what if Serena noticed? What would happen then? What would he say? After a while he saw Rini as she left for school. She didn't look to be in a good mood. Then his attention was distracted by the beautiful silhouette in the upstairs window. His breathe was taken aback by her shapely figure. So beautiful, so very, very beautiful. He watched the shadow disappear. He choked back a cry of dismay. Would he and Serena never be together again? Would he be doomed to skulk in the shadows watching her like some expensive doll in the window he would never afford? And the pain he caused her. However hard it would be on him, he just prayed that Serena would forget about him. She could probably do so much better. He finally convinced himself that the danger was nonexistent. He had probably just been using it as an excuse to see her. He felt he'd gone without her for an eternity. He left, at last. Returning sadly to the apartment, he was both glad and unhappy to realize that today was a holiday from work. Glad, because he was exhausted and was already late anyway but terribly unhappy because he would have to sit around his apartment all day with nothing to do but think about Serena. In the end, he finally crawled into bed and slept, troubled by guilt and harrowing nightmares. ***** Meanwhile, the Nemesis Family and the Brotherhood were having everything but a restful day. Both their leaders were in absolute wrath. Diamond was mainly upset over Emeralds failure to appear. He looked down at her from his throne, his eyes hardened to two cruel points of light. "Why were you not at the fight Emerald?" Emerald looked about her in dismay. How would she explain to Diamond she had been sleeping? She thought of Sapphire. He knew where she was but he hadn't bothered to tell her about the fight. He only wanted to see her embarrassed in front of Diamond. Her hands started to quiver in anger but still she had no answer for her beloved Diamond. Perhaps there was no right answer. Would he force her to live in disgrace and never give her a chance to prove her worthiness to Diamond? She glared at Sapphire beside her. He just smiled back smugly. Just then she thought of an excellent answer. The best she had at any rate. "I had thought the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants had the battle well in hand. I went to the control room to remain on guard in case of intruders. After all, how much do we know about the powers of these "Xmen?" It was going quite smoothly for Emerald. Diamond almost seemed to half buy her excuse. Then, she made a mistake. She had seen Sapphire's mouth drop open in amazement. He obviously hadn't thought her to be that good a liar. She decided to deliver the coup de grace. "If anyone is to blame here, it is Sapphire for his inability to destroy the Sailor Scouts and Xmen." Diamond stood angrily. But it was not to reprimand Sapphire. He instead leapt to the defense of his brother. "How dare you Emerald. Do you not know where you stand? Sapphire is your superior. I won't hear such vile accusations." Both Sapphire and Emerald were rather shocked by the outburst of affection towards Sapphire. Sapphire honestly couldn't remember the last time Diamond had stood up to him like that. Maybe, maybe he did. Once, early in Diamonds rule, one disgruntled soldier decided he was more deserving of the throne than Diamond. He had decided to take his anger out on his Sapphire. He had swaggered into the throne room, drunkenly shouting insults at the top of his lungs. Sapphire was incredibly mortified at what he had to say. Especially after the man had told about the affair with Prisma, a common dark crystal soldier. Diamond on the other hand, had merely accepted Sapphires folly. He stood in wrath, dark energy flowed through him creating an eerie glow. The man who had been yelling the obscenities began to resonate with the same glow and the suddenly, combusted. There was really no other word for it. Diamond had never again demonstrated such frightening power as killing with a look. He snapped out of his reverie to hear Diamond shouting at Emerald. Good. Let her get what she deserves. But she wasn't through yet. "Diamond, I agree. What I meant to say was that the Brotherhood should have backed up Sapphires droid all the way. Instead, they couldn't even dispatch with one of the enemy. We should get rid of them. All they are is trouble." Diamond considered this clumsy excuse for a moment then said. mostly to himself, "I do mean to speak to him `Emerald, go get Magneto. We need to talk." "Of course Diamond." purred Emerald. "I live to serve you." ***** Magneto stormed about, throwing this and trashing that. None of the Brotherhood dared go near him. As he watched Magneto snarl at the cowering Toad, Mastermind dared to mention to the Blob "Looks like all that power has gone to his head." Actually, it was the loss of power that had spurred this rage. He had found a world ripe for the picking, where no human would stand against his power and mutants would finally inherit the Earth. Just as his dream began to come true though, who should arrive but the Xmen. Then his illustrious mutant team was soundly defeated by a bunch of teenage girls. He was absolutely seething with the thought of it. " We were assured complete domination with limited resistance." He yelled to none but himself "The so-called "Wiseman" said that the Xmen could never reach here and anyone who could have been a threat to my new world order was supposed to have been dead." Diamond had also said he would back them up all the way. And all he managed was a measly droid with no great cost to himself at its destruction. "Toad!" Magneto commanded "Yes Lord Magneto?" asked Toad meekly "Get me Prince Diamond. I want to speak with him immediately." "Yes Master, of course." ***** Emerald and Toad had met about halfway from their rulers chambers. Rounding a corner, they both managed to soundly smack into each other. Emerald wasn't pleased. The thought of having touched one of these pathetic mutants, which were really not much more than humans, completely disgusted her. "What are you doing wandering about these halls?" "I am merely obeying Lord Magneto's orders." "And what were those?" she asked now suspicious "To summon your master." "Don't bother. I was just on my way to do the same thing." She quickly resumed her quick march to Magneto's chamber. "His lordship, prince Diamond, summons you at once to his throne room Magneto." "We will meet here if anywhere. Tell your master that." Emerald opened her fan to hide the displeasure on her face at the prospect of having to do more menial work. ***** Diamond wasn't pleased by this at all. He was pretty quick to send Emerald back. Magneto remained firm that he wasn't going to leave to see Diamond. After much running back and forth by the hapless messengers, it was finally decided that Magneto would go see Diamond, however much he didn't want to. ***** Diamond was a bit shocked to find that Magneto had brought the Brotherhood with him. He wondered if they were going to attempt a rebellion. He stared hard at them for a minute. It didn't really matter, he was far superior to all of them put together. The idea that they would try to take him and the others on was laughable. Especially Magneto, after all his power was almost gone. The only reason he could maintain it was...His train of thought was interrupted by Magneto himself. "I'm glad one of us has something to smile about." Diamond was slightly taken aback, he then realized that while he had been thinking, a small, smug smile had crept onto his lips. He quickly covered. No need to enrage them and lose some useful allies. "I was merely thinking of how delightful it will be to torture and destroy those pathetic beings who have dared to oppose us." "Before that can happen, I think it would be best to figure out how." Pointed out Magneto. "Indeed." Diamond said, sounding bored "Perhaps it would interest you to know that I already have a plan." Magneto looked at him a moment. He moved fast. He would have to be looked out for. "And that would be?" Magneto nodded in approval. An excellent plan. Perfect. ***** Lita woke up with the afternoon sun streaming down on her face. Was it that late already? What about school? She jumped out of bed, wondering why she was still wearing her clothes from two days ago when it hit her. There was no school. She fell back onto her bed. "Maybe I'll sleep in a few more hours." she said to herself. Her stomach had other ideas though. She listened to it gurgle away for a few minutes. But finally, she decided to take the hint and padded into the kitchen. She looked at Ami in amazement. She was stretched out on the couch typing away at her little computer, analyzing every little detail about the crystal. "This crystal's pretty neat!" cried Lita, scooping it up. She turned it in the sun looking at its deep navy hue. Then Ami started to protest. "Oops, sorry. It just looked pretty that's all." "It might look like that Lita, but it's actually very powerful, and dangerous." "I was just saying... Hey, aren't you hungry?" "Come to think of it, I am. But I'll just fix myself something." "What? Don't you like my cooking?" "Are you kidding? I love it! I just don't want to trouble you is all." " It's no problem. I love to cook and I was going to make myself something anyway." "Oh. In that case, sure." Lita rummaged through the cupboards and fridge, looking for something suitable for a late lunch. There didn't seem to be anything resembling food in the entire house though. "I'm going out to do some shopping. There are a few things I need to get. Don't eat anything though!" "Sure, I'll just study or something." ***** Lita searched around the supermarket. She was almost through. She was glad. She loved to shop even if it was for food, but she'd been in the grocery store for over an hour! Finally she was onto the last item of her list though. A package of linguini noodles for supper tonight. She quickened her pace as she rounded the corner to the pasta aisle. SMACK! "Oh my goodness, I'm so sorry." "It's not your fault at all. I am terribly sorry." Lita looked up. The voice sounded awfully familiar. Who could it be? She'd managed to run into a young black woman with silver hair. Could it possibly be? Lita quickly got up and started to walk away. If she recognized Storm, then Storm might just be able to recognize her. ***** Ororo watched the girl quickly stalk away. She vaguely seemed to recognize her for a moment. Of course, the only people here she knew were... The Scouts! That would mean that young girl there was, Sailor Jupiter perhaps? Oh well, no need to give it away that she knew. Ororo had a great respect for the need to hide one's identity, even if she wasn't into that thing herself, several of the Xmen had family and friends to think of. Not that Ororo had to worry about anything like that. Her only friends and family were the Xmen after all. She watched her go and then turned to the next aisle for some toothpaste. She and the other Xmen were beyond pleased to find that the abandoned apartment had not only indoor plumbing which still worked but electricity! Still, they needed some of the basic necessities. Ororo thought ruefully of how she'd gained the money needed to go shopping. Not very hero like. Oh well, how else were they going to get the food needed to survive? Besides, it gave her something to do now that she was off guard duty. ***** Serena woke up, ready to take on the entire Negaverse. She felt so well rested. She wondered why Luna had let her sleep in so late. Then she remembered where Luna was. Oh well, Luna could stay up all she wanted to. She had just better not be grouchy the next day. Serena thought about taking a walk for a while but didn't really want to do anything energetic. School was out for the day, maybe the week! A once in a lifetime opportunity for goofing off. She yawned "Maybe those Negacreeps aren't so bad after all." she gave a little giggle and thought about it, walk or stay in her room and read mangas all day. Which would it be? Finally though she decided on a walk. To the refrigerator that is. She looked around to make sure she wouldn't be ambushed by her mom and be forced to do a whole lot of boring chores. She was nowhere to be seen. On the refrigerator door a note was posted by her mom. "Hi hunny, I'm out on an errand and thought I'd let you sleep in since that's one of your favourite things to do. Don't pig out and clean up that war zone you call a room!" "Me? Spend my day off cleaning? Mom, you've got to be kidding." With that, she tore down the note, loaded up a plate full of goodies and headed back up to her room with every intention of not ever coming back out. ***** Marrow stared despondently up at the flickering bulb in the ceiling. She was crouched on a crate in the very back of the room with Professor Xavier and Rogue. Gambit had been there earlier but had left to watch the Dark Crystal. The weather-witch still had to come home with the groceries. Marrow glared into the darkness. How come everyone else got to go walk around in the sun while she was stuck here with nothing to do. She leapt effortlessly down off her box. Time to do a little exploring. As she wandered around the empty halls of the abandoned building she let her mind drift to what had been happening in the last few days. Mostly her thoughts centered on the people of this universe. No mutants. None whatsoever. If Magneto hadn't gotten here first, she considered ruefully, maybe this universe would have tolerated mutants. Liked them even. The Sailor Scouts didn't seem to mind them. They didn't like her much. Marrow smirked to herself. They were afraid of her. Of her ugliness. The smirk quickly into a sad frown though. Ugly. That's what she was. What had Sailor Moon said earlier? That she was pretty. PRETTY?! That was laughable. Marrow looked into a dirt covered window. It reflected her face and what Marrow saw, she didn't like. She gave herself a little shake though, clearing herself of her dark thoughts. Maybe it wasn't too late. If they could chase out the Brotherhood...too bad they couldn't stay. This world would have been perfect. Her anger flared for a second. These people didn't know how lucky they were. ***** Rei and Mina giggled over some teen magazines, teasing each other over the cute boys in some of the pictures, each trying to claim him for herself first. "Hey Rei, doesn't this look like Chad?" "Yeah right, no way will Chad ever be that cute." They fell into another fit of giggling. Which then, unexpectedly, erupted into all out hysterics. It was a great day to be Sailor Scouts. ***** Remy LeBeau was a man of action. This was not action. Stuck here watching the crystal for three hours. He sighed, well, only another hour to go. Then it was Rogues turn. He turned his attention back to the Crystal. If anything did happen, he wanted to be right on top of it. He was incredibly bored. All he had was the strange black cat for company and it only stared at him, unmoving. Kind of creepy, the intensity of gaze. Storm had told him to expect it when he first came on watch. She said that the cat had watched her silently for the entire time she'd been there and only moved when Storm had tried to pick her up to take back to their hideout to give back to the Sailor Scouts later. When Storm moved towards it, it had hissed and fled a few meters. Storm warned Gambit not to go near it. Just then, Gambit caught sight of some more lightning. Just like when the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants showed up the first time. Action at last! Of course, probably more than he'd know what to do with. He decided to call the Xmen. "Professor!" he thought "Yes?" the voice was faint. Xavier was still getting used to using his telepathic powers again and the distance was great. " I t'ink we got a problem." " I'll send the Xmen and contact the Sailor Scouts. Do what you can until then." Gambit's attention was drawn from his telepathic conversation with Professor X by a large clap of thunder. He decided to get moving. ***** "Marrow, Rogue." "What now baldie?" " Gambit has reported another disturbance at the crystal. If we are to help him we've got to go now." "Ah'm on it. Let's go sugah." And without any further ado, Rogue grabbed Marrow and lifted her up, flying towards the crystal without any heed for secrecy, streaking straight across the sky. Professor Xavier next contacted Storm who was on her way home with the groceries. Storm rushed off the bus at the next stop ducked into an alley and dug out her image inducer from her pocket. With a single push of a button it was revealed that she hadn't been wearing any clothes at all except for her purple uniform. She quickly hid her groceries behind a dumpster with the hopes it would still be there later. Once the Professor had reassured himself that the Xmen were on their way to help Gambit he next attempted to signal the scouts. Unfortunately, the combination of the fact that he'd been using his telepathy again for only a short time, the distance and the Sailor Scouts mind being relatively new to him, made them difficult for Professor X to reach. The only one he did manage to contact was Sailor Mercury. ***** Ami had switched from studying the crystal to looking at her findings on the Xmen. She studied the DNA of a few skin cells she managed to extract from her uniform where Nightcrawler had brushed her with his skin. The DNA looked far more similar to human DNA than she would have at first suspected. When she took a closer look though, she noticed something incredibly interesting. The DNA had an additional piece to its molecule. It was like nothing she'd ever seen. "This must be the reason for the mutation." she mumbled to herself. For amusement's sake she decided to see what Nightcrawler would look like without the mysterious gene. When she saw the picture on her computer, she raised an eyebrow. He was, well, handsome! She would have to show this to him when he came. She decided to see if she could maybe link different genetic codings with the additional gene to different mutant powers when she was interrupted by another voice in her mind. "Sailor Mercury." the voice said feebly "Wha-? Who?" asked Mercury, dumbfounded "Mercury, it's me, Professor X." "Oh, it's you." Mercury thought to him, relieved she hadn't suddenly gone schizophrenic. "What's wrong?" she asked, for his thoughts sounded very urgent. " Gambit, the Xman I had watching the Dark Crystal, has reported more disturbances in the air around it. I advise you gather the other Sailor Scouts and head there as quickly as possible." "No problem." then Mercury carefully shut her mind to him. It felt like he was gone and she doubted he was into prying but still, the secret identities of the Scouts were very important to them. She quickly opened up her wrist communicator and dispatched her message to all the Sailor Scouts and then was out the door in seconds. She never thought to contact Tuxedo Mask though. ***** The Sailor Scouts met just within view of the crystal. As they approached, they heard sounds of intense fighting. There were the Xmen and surrounding them, the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, two droids, a man dressed in blue and a woman in green. Just as they approached, the woman in green let out an ear splitting howl of laughter. "HAHAHAHAH! Looks like you've finally met your match Xmen!" Indeed, the Xmen were beaten, battered and bruised. Far more so than from any of their previous fights. Their largest problem had been the Droids. They were unaccustomed to fighting such enemies and had no proper weapons to deal with them. The Sailor Scouts did though. "I am Venus, the Sailor Scout of love. This ends now Negacreeps!" "I'm Sailor Jupiter! Give up now or face my wrath." "I'm Sailor Mars, prepare to get burned!" "I am Sailor Mercury. Surrender now before we turn you into moondust!" "And I am Sailor Moon, the champion of Love and Justice. On behalf of the moon, I will punish you!" On hearing this, the Brotherhood and Dark Family turned. Sabretooth recognized one of the girls. It was the one who had given him the nasty shock earlier that day. He snarled angrily and looked like he was about to rush her when Mystique laid a hand on his shoulder. "Soon my love. Not yet though." Sabretooth just turned to leer at Sailor Jupiter. Magneto, who had joined the fray this time, took a step forward. "I am Magneto, Lord of the New Mutant Nation. It is MY suggestion that you pack up and leave now. We've soundly defeated the Xmen. Do you think you'll fare better?" The Scouts were slightly unnerved by the sight of Rogue and Remy's prone bodies on the ground and Marrow and Storm staggering and swaying, like they too were about to drop. " Defeated Magneto? Look again." It was Professor X. He had come to the site as quickly as possible but had just now arrived. Telepathically he commanded his students "Now Xmen!" Magneto never even managed to look before he was suddenly swept away by a hurricane force gale produced by Storm. The Xmen had been playing Possum. They were, of course, slightly roughed up, but nothing serious. They were still vastly outnumbered though. And Magneto's power definitely seemed to have increased, to Professor X's surprise. When he'd last gotten a whiff of Magneto's thoughts, he'd been seriously worried over his power and inability to maintain it. Well, he thought, perhaps I read him wrong. He hadn't actually delved directly into Magnus' thoughts after all. As the Xmen and Sailor Scouts prepared to attack though, the man in white and blue and the women in green disappeared, although their Droids remained. "Venus Love Chain Encircle!" Sailor Venus' attack struck Mystique, flooring her as she attempted to fire some sort of weird gun at Marrow. "I didn't need your help Scout." "Well it looked to me like you did. Anyway, I've decided not to expect any gratitude from the likes of you." It actually looked like Marrow might have attacked Sailor Venus then but her attention was diverted by Toad who had given her a swift kick in the back. Jupiter found herself most definitely in trouble. Sabretooth was launching a vicious attack on her and Jupiter couldn't find the time to perform any attack of her own. "Wanda please don't do this!" begged Storm of the future Avenger. "I always thought you to be above begging for mercy Storm." laughed the Scarlet witch. "But you don't understand. You don't belong with the Brotherhood. You are good. You're going to become an Avenger!" Wanda just gave her a strange look and tried to catch her with Hex Blast. Storm barely managed to escape her line of sight in time. The Scouts and Xmen found themselves formed into a tight circle. None of the Brotherhood or Droids could get past. Despite the almost insurmountable odds, the Sailor Scouts and the Xmen were most definitely holding their own. One of the Droids (who was black with white star-like dots covering it) struck at Sailor Mercury with a strange energy attack "Star Shine!" Gambit grabbed her and shoved her out of the way. Mars and Jupiter then jumped into action. "Mars Celestial Fires Surround!" "Jupiter Thunderclap Zap!" The Droid was knocked to the ground, severely singed and out for the count. "Your turn Sailor Moon." cried Mars "So hurry it up why don't you!" "I'm getting to it! Moon Scepter Activation!" The Droid didn't even find time to scream. It turned to dust and down tumbled another crystal. This one resembled the Sisters crystal. It shone green for a minute and then turned to a solid black. "That's one down!" whooped Sailor Moon happily "Yeah, only another two to go. And I think that one was the easiest." said Sailor Venus disparagingly "EEEEK!" cried Sailor Moon, barely avoiding a 100 mile an hour clothesliner from Quicksilver. The fight went on. ***** Tuxedo Mask woke from his dream with a silent scream of shock and pain. Added to the usual horrible dream he kept having was the sudden knowledge that Serena was in danger. Terrible, terrible danger. There was a fight going on and he hadn't been told. Within seconds he transformed and was out the door. He had to reach Sailor Moon. He opened his heart and let it guide his way. ***** The circle had been split wide open when Quicksilver made his dash at Sailor Moon. Still, it had been a good idea while it lasted. Now though, the Sailor Scouts and Xmen were scattered. Each one had to look after themselves. Sailor Moon found herself mysteriously alone. Her friends had all been separated from her. Just then she heard Sailor Mercury give a scream as she was attacked by the vicious Sabretooth. Sailor Moon turned to dash to her fallen friend. She thought she was going to be too late when, out of the blue, Rogue swooped down on Mercury and carried her to safety. And it was a good thing too because Sailor Moon would not of made it in time. Just as she started towards Mercury, Sailor Moon found her way blocked by the woman in the green dress that had been in the skirmish earlier. Sailor Moon eyed her warily. What did she want? Emerald looked into Sailor Moon's suspicious eyes and had to laugh. "AHAHAHAHA! I see you don't trust me! Well, I don't blame you. I'm Emerald a member of the Nemesis Family. And I've been ordered by Prince Diamond himself to get you. Now will you come quietly?" Sailor Moon stared up at the dangerous woman. Mustering all her courage she cried: "If you're looking for someone who will come quietly, you picked the wrong person. I am Sailor Moon! The champion of justice." "HAHAHA! Yes, we've heard it all before don't worry. I didn't really think you would. Oh well, it will be more fun like this won't it?" Sailor Moon backed up and shouted "Moon Scepter Elimina-What?" Standing before her and directly in the line of fire was Tuxedo Mask. "Tuxedo Mask, I almost hit you with my scepter. Where did Emerald go though?" "HAHAHAHA! I'm right here!" Sailor Moon didn't even get a chance to turn around. Emerald's hands closed around her wrists. "How?" then she turned to Tuxedo Mask for help. Instead she saw only a blue woman with red hair smirking evilly. "You might be wondering how we did this. I guess the Xmen failed to warn you about me." the red haired woman told her. "My name is Mystique and I'm a metamorph. I became Emerald so you'd think I was her. Then it would be a simple matter for her to sneak up behind you, then grab your wrist and teleport to the crystal. When you tried to injure me, I just metamorphed to look like Tuxedo Mask. You were so easy to fool." Sailor Moon tried desperately to twist out of Emerald's arms but to no avail. Then, with one final shrieking laugh, the real Emerald began to teleport by creating a black hole in the road which she slowly descended into. Mystique took off to battle the Xmen. Sailor Moon screamed for help as she scrabbled desperately at the pavement, looking for a handhold. Just as her head began to slip under though, a strong arm grabbed her disappearing hand and started to drag her up. "Tuxedo Mask!" she cried happily. Tuxedo Mask had just barely got there in time. Now he wrapped both his hands around her arm and began to hoist her up. Suddenly, Sailor Moon was wrenched back into the hole. Tuxedo Mask found himself against incredible odds as he stumbled, nearly being pulled in himself. He looked into her pain stricken eyes. This tug of war would kill her. But he couldn't bare to let her go. He just couldn't. Tuxedo Mask was shocked as Sailor Moon shoved him aside, letting herself slip into the hole. He was confused for only a second. Then he realized that Mystique, who they thought had drifted off to the fight, was still there and she had been creeping up to the pair, gun in hand. Tuxedo Mask dodged the blast and scrambled towards Sailor Moon. Too late, he grasped fleetingly at her fingertips. Seeing her disappear into the hole, all he could do was scream. "I love you!" Then he was forced to shove himself away, as another dark energy blast slammed into the ground forming a crater. Mystique cursed and went at him physically. That was a mistake. He was furious, with himself for not saving her, the Scouts for not alerting him, the universe in general. But mostly, he was angry at Mystique. Terribly angry. He struck at her with such savagery as he didn't know existed. Dark fury and hatred enough to match that of any Negademon. He threw a volley of roses at Mystiques blaster, with such speed as Quicksilver himself wouldn't have been able to escape them. They flew through the blaster, punctuating the metal and destroying it utterly. Then he went after Mystique. He struck in a blind rage. Mystique found herself completely defenseless against the force of Tuxedo Mask's blows. All the while he mercilessly pounded her, bitter tears flowed down his cheek. It wasn't long before he found himself stooping over he prone form. Then the red mist left his eyes, and choking back his tears, he dropped Mystique letting her slump to the ground. She quickly regained consciousness. She saw him standing over her in a sort of trance but didn't dare attack; he was more than a match for her. She promptly took off, leaving him there alone. ***** Back at the battlefield the Brotherhood mysteriously disappeared again. Whatever they'd been trying to accomplish they had. Then the Xmen and Sailor Scouts found him. Tuxedo Mask was standing around, his body shaking, racked with sobs. Sailor Mars carefully walked up to him. "Is everything all right Tuxedo Mask?" "I've failed her. I've failed her. I can't believe I've failed her." was all he could mutter. Sailor Mars gasped. She could guess who he'd failed. "What happened?" " I failed her again." he stated in a depressed monotone. "Failed who?" demanded Mars "Sailor Moon? C'mon Tuxedo Mask, out with it. We need to know what happened." "She was attacked" he started haltingly "...by two women...one was blue...the, the other had a shrieking laugh. I can't believe I let go of her." "It's OK Tuxedo Mask. It's OK." Sailor Venus told him although she didn't even believe herself. If Sailor Moon was dead, how would anything ever be OK again? He started up again in a faint, disbelieving voice. "The blue woman. She was distracting Sailor Moon by looking like me. That, that's when I saw them... I-I was as quick as possible but...Sailor Moon disappeared into a black hole. And, and now... Now I've lost her!" with those last words he almost broke down again but with the approach of the Xmen he quickly regained his composure. Professor X looked sadly at the young man. What he had to say would be small comfort to him. "Tuxedo Mask." started the Professor soberly "I think you may want to know this. She's not dead." "She-she's not?" "No. I recognize her physic signal. She's in the crystal." The Sailor Scouts looked grimly at each other. She was alive but-. "Well." said Sailor Jupiter slowly. She paused for a second. Then her face brightened. "I guess we'll just have to rescue her." Gambit smiled a bit. "Easier said than done mes petites." "We will need a plan." stated Storm "Sorry folks." a voice interrupted "It won't be you doing the plan making." The Scouts and Xmen turned in shock, fearing another ambush. To their surprise though, they found only a glowing rectangle, suspended in midair. Through it though, came a young man. "Access!" cried the Sailor Scouts and Xmen in unison. "Yeah, that would be me. I'm glad you remembered." "What are you doing here?" asked Professor X, curious. "Well, I've got some news for you, some good, some bad." "Well don't keep us in suspense sugah." Rogue told him impatiently. "Well, you've basically only got a few hours left so I thought I'd bring you back home and switch you with the other team." The No.1 team, looked at each other. They were reluctant to leave but the more experienced members knew they had too. It would be no good planning a rescue attempt centered around their special talents if they would be forced to leave before it could be carried out. "We will leave for now Access, but we will be ready to assist you at a moments notice." "Sure, no big deal. Just, well," he stopped for a second and gazed around at the expectant faces "We've got a tiny, tiny problem." ***** fuzzy_elf is the author of the Anime/Marvel Crossover "One Marvelous Day" and several poems on the subject of Creatures.
