Everything in this is entirely fictional. Marvel/Anime Crossover: One Marvelous Day The Xmen and the Sailor Scouts stared at each other pensively. Problem? What sort of problem? Access looked at the worried faces around him. "It's not that bad. Just a minor setback really." "What kind of "setback" flatscan?" asked Marrow testily "Don't you remember what I said when I dropped you guys off here the first time? Every time someone crosses to one universe and back, they forget having ever been there. That's what's happened to the other Xmen. They've forgotten ever being here and even meeting the Sailor Scouts. Basically, I have to convince them into going back. It shouldn't take too long though. I just thought I'd break up you guys now and send you back before you started anything you couldn't finish. Like any plans to get Sailor Moon back." "Access speaks wisely for one so young." stated the Professor. "Any plan we were to formulate now would no doubt be based on our own particular powers. Planning must be done by the other Xmen team." "Great. So as long as that's settled, maybe I could borrow someone from the team. Just so they know I'm telling the truth." Professor Xavier concurred and made a suggestion of his own. "Perhaps it would be wise if I were to go with you. Being a telepath, it would be a simple matter to communicate to them and help jog their memories." "Wellll....that's a good idea, it really is but you have to keep in mind that their memories can't be jogged." Or can they? he thought to himself. Every so often he would meet up with an especially strong willed person who seemed to remember him. Maybe their memories could be brought back. "It's worth a shot. Let's go." He opened a portal and Professor X entered unflinchingly although some of the other, less trusting Xmen still might of thought twice before completely trusting a total stranger. Shortly after Professor X left the cats arrived. Artemis had been sleeping when Venus and Mars left without telling him and he had found Luna trying to take on Mastermind herself. She'd actually been doing well considering. He'd been unable to use any mind tricks on her since she was a cat and he didn't know his way around her mind. He'd disappeared just as Artemis showed up. He and Luna had found themselves rather far from the action and were just now getting the gist of what had happened Luna looked up pensively at the Dark Crystal. Sailor Moon in there? ***** Professor X arrived back in his mansion in Salem Center. Where were the Xmen? He looked out a glass window. Of course! He had been momentarily disoriented by the teleport but now he realized that he was in the observatory above the danger room and there were the rest of the Xmen. With a simple command he shut down the danger room program they were using. It would be easier to discuss the matter without it running. The Xmen looked up in shock. Noone was supposed to be up there. "Professor X!" cried Colossus "Yes my students. I come here with a friend you may not remember. His name is Access." "Hate to say it Chuck but your right, we ain't seen him before. And I don't forget that easy." said Wolverine suspiciously "That's because when we met, you encountered people from another universe and when I sent them back you totally forgot about me." "Uhuh." said Shadowcat "Riiight." Access looked at Professor X helplessly, this really wasn't working "Allow me Access." said the Professor. Moments later, the Xmen were hit by a telepathic blast of information which informed them completely as to what had been happening over the last few days. Nightcrawler, Wolverine, Colossus and Shadowcat stilled eyed Access askance though. Access sighed in exasperation, he had to get him to trust him enough to let him take them through the portal. "Listen, I have to get back soon and get your friends because they need to return to their universe in 24 hours, otherwise the two universes will amalgamate and I really don't want to go through that again." Now it was the Professor's turn to look at him oddly, this was the first he'd heard about that. Access noticed this and sighed inwardly to himself, figures he'd find a way to mess things up. The second team looked at each other, they really didn't have any other explanation for where the rest of the team had disappeared to. After a whispered conference though, they looked up to Access and Professor X. Nightcrawler spoke for them. "We are willing to trust you, mein freund, but if you attempt to betray us...You will be sorry." "Don't worry, I won't try anything." Access promised them. He opened his golden portal and seconds later appeared beside them. "You have to go through here." he told them. The Xmen looked at it for a few seconds and the Shadowcat cautiously stepped through. When she looked through the other side she recognized what looked to be Tokyo. She hopped back through to reassure the others. "Don't worry guys, everything checks out." The men on the team looked at each other and then filed through, one by one. ***** They appeared in front of the dark crystal, just beyond it's forcefield. Once again though, the teleportees were left wondering where everyone was. Just as the Xmen began to look as though they may pounce on Access though, he was saved by Rogues timely intervention. "So y'all finally made it." she said in her southern drawl Behind the Xmen, Access sighed in relief. "Yes Rogue, we have returned." said Professor X "'Bout time too." snorted Marrow, appearing from the shadows where the others had been hiding. "Yeah, ummmm. I think Xavier filled you guys in on what was going on right?" asked Access, turning to the newly arrived Xmen team 2. "He telepathed everything that had happened in the last few days when he was trying to convince us to trust you." Colossus assured him "And we can prob'ly think of somethin' t'help the kid." added Wolverine. The first Xmen team didn't seem to want to go though. They tarried a bit, talking with the others and helping the new team acquaint themselves with the Sailor Scouts, the youths whose life they apparently saved, but whom they didn't even remember. ***** Nightcrawler observed his new allies. Professor X had helped in "unlocking" his memories but still, they felt strange, like memories of memories. His attention was most drawn to the young man in a Tuxedo. He was not part of Kurts memories. He was sitting with his back against the wall. His face was down so that Nightcrawler had difficulty seeing it but he was definitely troubled. His face was blanched and when he looked up briefly, Nightcrawler saw the sorrow in his face and the haunted look of his eyes. Nightcrawler motioned to Rogue, standing closest to him, that he wished to speak to her. He smiled as she sidled gracefully up to him. And she always hated it when Remy flirted with other women. He shook his head and kept back a chuckle of amusement. "What's up sugah?" she asked "Do you happen know, Rogue, vas ist wrong with the young man over there? It is rare to find someone looking that depressed." "Well, so far as Ah can tell, looks like the girls leader, Sailor Moon, was captured by the Brotherhood. He was there and tried his best to help her but couldn't. She was teleported away." "Teleported?" asked Nightcrawler, a teleporter himself. "Yes, y'see Elf, were not just dealin' with the Brotherhood here, we got a new lot o' nasties, callin' themselves the "Dark Moon Family." We've managed t'indentify two of 'im and they're pretty powerful. It's seems though, that the main advantage they have is that they can make there own little androids at a whim. Only people who can really deal with those things are the kids over there." "Danke fraulien. That answers pretty much all my questions." "No problem 'Crawler." she began to leave. "Oh and, ah, Kurt?" "Ja?" "I thought you might want to know who's in the Brotherhood." "I have a fairly good idea. Why, were there new additions to the team?" "Not quite. Just some old ones." "Oh?" "Yeah, it looks like this is a team from the past when Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch were still criminals." Nightcrawler looked at her steadily. He was pretty sure he knew what was coming "Go on." he said. "Mystiques here Nightcrawler. It looks like she's a past Mystique too. Just don't know how far into the past." Nightcrawler looked up into the sky, not wanting Rogue to see the turmoil on his face. His mother. The mother who had abandoned him. Well, he'd see what would happen when the time came to meet face to face. ***** "So Mags'is here huh?" growled Wolverine. He gave an almost uncharacteristically sadistic grin. "Good. He an' I have a score to settle." "Yes Wolverine." Storm informed him "Sabretooth also. I would watch out if I were you Wolverine, for two of your greatest foes are here and prepared to kill you." "I wouldn't worry about me 'Ro. I'm the only one's gonna be doin' any killin' 'round here." Storm surreptitiously shook her head. It would do no good. Wolverine was the best at what he does and one of the things he does so well was to be as stubborn as a mule. She just hoped he wouldn't do anything to endanger the lives of the other Xmen. ***** Access finally began to show signs of impatience and boredom though. Indeed, despite the one hour allowance he'd given himself in getting the Xmen, he was cutting it pretty close. The No.1 Xmen team had to leave now, before they caused a crossover. That was the last thing he wanted to have to deal with. He cleared his throat for attention. "OK folks it's time to go. I really can't stick around any longer. And neither can you." he told them pointedly. Storm nodded towards Nightcrawler. He was in control now. They had finished all the last minute checks possible. She'd handed over the sole image inducer and double-checked that he knew where she'd stored the groceries. "...And if you need directions to where we were staying, the Sailor Scout named Sailor Mars will show you where it is." "Ja Storm, I doubt I'll forget after you told me three times." Storm looked at him, slightly abashed. Then she saw he was grinning widely and offered up a small, but pleasant smile herself. ***** Access didn't need to look at a watch to know how much time they had left, somehow he just knew. Still, he began to constantly check it as he became more and more impatient. "C'mon, c'mon." he kept muttering to himself. He looked up from his watch again and almost did a double take. The Xmen from the first team were assembled in front of him. "We are ready to go now Access." the Professor told him. "Great," he said, while opening the golden portal. "OK. One at a time please." the Xmen stepped cautiously through, though with less hesitancy than last time. Soon, he too left, he disappeared completely into his teleporting portal except for one disembodied hand which waved goodbye and then he completely disappeared. Xmen team No.2 was now on their own. ***** Sailor Moon woke groggily, her head hurting so much she thought it would burst. "Darien?" she'd heard his voice, it was filled with pain and sorrow. Where was she? She stared into the gloom. She was in a large room, dimly lit. Then it hit her. Where she was and how she'd gotten there. She stood up quickly and then was so dizzy that she immediately sat down again. "I love you." the faint whispering voice, of her former lover. "I love you." had it been just a dream? Just some warm fuzzy dream to protect her from reality? She was certain she'd heard it; just as she was swallowed up by the dark hole, that Hyena, Emerald, had made. "I love you." Because he didn't love her. Not anymore. He'd made that quite clear. She gave a helpless sob. She was all alone and no one could help her. Before it could become a full-fledged wail though, she stopped herself. "No Serena." she told herself "You have to be strong." Then another thought occurred to her "Great! Now I'm talking to myself!" Her friends would come for her, she knew they would. And if they didn't...well, she'd just find a way out on her own! And she decided that that was what she was going to do. She stood again and was glad that, while she was still a little shaky, the world wasn't twirling around in front of her anymore. Just as she put her first step towards freedom though, she was forced to a stop by the leering countenance of Toad stuck in her face. "AHHH!" she screamed and backed up to the wall, whimpering. She choked back another cry as he came over. "Who, who are you?" she managed to stutter She watched him warily as he approached her. He grinned horribly and asked "What would you say I look like?" Sailor Moon's expression hardened slightly "Hey! I asked you first. Geez you're as annoying as Sailor Mars." Toad was taken aback at this remark. He had thought he would scare her with his appearance. All he had managed to do though was annoy her. "Well?" He covered quickly. Mustering as pompous and self important a voice as he could he declared: "I am Toad of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants. We are led by the all-powerful Magneto. And you were just foolish enough to stand in our way." "So what's going to happen to me now?" she asked glumly "That is for Lord Magneto to decide. I am merely one of his lowly followers." He shuffled off leaving Sailor Moon to her own devices. She wondered why. Weren't they afraid she'd escape? Well, she thought to herself, cheering slightly, their loss, my gain. She began to grope around for a door. ***** Wolverine glared up at the Dark Crystal. Sabretooth and Magneto. "This oughta be a blast." He thought to himself He turned his attention back to the group of kids in front of him. They all looked slightly distraught. Especially the young man who was skirting the edges. Tuxedo Mask? Remembering memories was kind of new to him. He turned his attention to Nightcrawler. He was still thinking as to how to get past the forcefield. "I could try phasing through." suggested Shadowcat. Before she could be stopped she turned intangible and attempted to walk through. There was an awful sound like that of an electric fences but a hundred times louder. "Kitty!" shouted Colossus. He took a running dive, knocking her away from the forcefield. She shakily stood "I'm alright, I'm alright." she reassured them. "I didn't expect them to have anything like that." she stared up in awe at the Crystal and it's formidable defense system. "Wow." "Ah Kitty, that forcefield you're "wowing" just about killed you." Colossus reminded her She turned a bit red "Oh, well, yeah, it's going to take some work getting through that. That's all I'm saying." Mercury had her computer out again. She was carefully scanning it for weaknesses. Unfortunately, it seemed completely impregnable. "Hmmm." she bit her lip thoughtfully. Then she slapped her palm against her forehead. "Of course, how stupid of me! We don't have to go through it! We can just do a Sailor Teleport!" then she sagged a bit. "But we need Sailor Moon." The brightened faces of the Sailor Scouts darkened again but they were in for another quick mood change. "You're not the stupid one Sailor Mercury." Nightcrawler told he "My mutant ability is to teleport. I really should of thought of this sooner." indeed, he found it slightly disturbing that he hadn't. Had he forgotten how to be a leader, had he begun to let others think for him? Wolverine had evidently felt his best friends perturbance. "We all screw up sometimes 'Crawler. None 'o the rest of us thought of it either." "True enough mein freund," he turned his attention to the others "But getting in there is not enough. We may have all sorts of dangers to contend with and then there's the fact that the place will be crawling with members of the Brotherhood." "And the Nemesis family." added Sailor Mars "And the Nemesis family. We also have no way of knowing where they are keeping Sailor Moon and our only telepath, Professor X, is not with us at the moment. If only we could reach Access..." He trailed off into deep though. They needed a strategy and a good one. They couldn't afford to be captured, any of them. "I think it'd be best if we didn't stand around here where we're probably being watched." suggested Shadowcat. "Good idea, we should try and find that building the other Xmen were staying in." "Just one more second." said Sailor Mercury. She was still studying the Dark Crystal. "OK, I'm done." she said and they all moved off, away from the stifling and unnerving influence of the Dark Crystal. ***** Soon after Sailor Moon started to search around the room, she realized she was on longer Sailor Moon. She was just plain old, and not to mention helpless Serena. Someone had stolen her brooch. Now she was very determined to escape the room, if not the Dark Crystal. She had to get her locket back. She quickly found that the door and cautiously opened it. Her eyes widened in fright. Apparently, they weren't so stupid as to leave her unguarded after all. The Blob stood, albeit slowly. "Well, well, well. Attempting a jail break are we? I wouldn't if I were you. I've been in enough of them to know how to keep you from gettin' anywheres." he grinned meanly. Sailor Moon quickly backed away from him and through the door. Apparently she wasn't going to get out that way. ***** "Should someone get Rini maybe?" asked Sailor Jupiter "She'll be getting home from school soon and she might want to be in on this." Artemis jumped from Venus' shoulder to hers. "I don't think so." he whispered into her ear "Remember, the Dark Moon family wants Rini, if we take her to the Dark Crystal, we might as well gift wrap her because it would be just like handing her over." "Gee Artemis, could you be any meaner about it? It was just a suggestion." Wolverine turned in their direction. His super keen hearing had picked up on something. "Did that cat talk?" "No, of course not." Venus hurriedly reassured him "Talking cats, that's just silly." "Then why did you talk to it then?" asked Wolverine slyly. "He likes to pretend to talk so I humor him." Jupiter told him Wolverine still looked rather incredulous though. The Scouts and cats collectively gulped. Then he gave a sort of chuckling laugh. "Well, rather that cat o' yours can talk or no, I'll tell you right now that I've seen and heard stranger things so I wouldn't really worry if I were you." The Scouts were still uneasy though. He just shook his head. He would have laughed too, if it weren't for the circumstances. Indeed, the Scouts were really grim, and the atmosphere was growing tenser. The Scouts and Xmen passed the final few blocks to their new place of residence in dead silence, no one knowing how to break it. They arrived at last and trudged inside. They gazed around at the dust covered walls and dark hallways. The Scouts and Xmen weren't given much time to survey their surroundings though. If they were to get Sailor Moon out, they had to start planning now. They were all rather unsettled by the thought of just what they might be doing to her. ***** At the moment they were trying to drag her, kicking in bawling, to Prince Diamonds throne. Quicksilver and his sister were not having an easy time of it. By the time they reached the throne room door, they had both lost their patience and Serena was just lucky Magneto hadn't sent Sabretooth to get her because she would have been cut to ribbons by that time. As it was, Pietro, as quick in temper and actions as he was in running and he almost raised his hand to hit her. He remembered himself just as quickly though and lowered it. He did hiss however "If you value your life, I suggest you shut up NOW! I'm not in a good mood, and neither is Magneto!" Serena looked around desperately. Whoever this Magneto guy was, she didn't want to meet him. She tried to stall for time. She asked the first thing that popped into her mind. "Ummm, who is this Magneto guy anyway?" Miraculously, the two mutants stopped, the Scarlet Witch with her hand on the door handle. "Lord Magneto is the ruler of the new mutant nation." Wanda told her "Formerly known as Japan. "He is also the leader of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants." "Us." finished Quicksilver. "Ohhh. and who else is there?" Keep it up Serena, she whispered to herself. She had no idea what all this time wasting would get her but maybe she could escape. Somehow. Her idle wish was cut short though when Quicksilver grabbed her again. "We're already late. We can't waste any more time talking to you." With that she was shoved into the room where she stumbled to a stop in front of two of the most frightening and powerful men she'd ever met. ***** The Scouts had discussed the plan long and hard and at last they had an idea. Just in time too since most had to go home for supper. Jupiter would explain that Serena had decided to stay at her house for a night. Maybe two. Of course, no one wanted to think about what to say to her parents if they should fail, if they came to late, if they found her dead. No one was willing to think about that. A grim optimism pervaded the room. They weren't going to fail. Of course planning out what to say to the parents didn't take much work. It was almost routine for the Sailor Scouts. The real problem had been in deciding who was going into the Crystal. It had been pretty obvious how. The only person who was going to be getting past that barrier was Nightcrawler with his power to teleport. Unfortunately, the most he could take was two people for one trip. He could possibly make one more trip with one or two people, but he wouldn't be waking up for a while. So who to take. It wasn't like there was a lack of volunteers. All the Scouts, the cats and Tuxedo Mask wanted to go. It was a very, very tough decision. Not only did they need a certain type of people inside rescuing her, but the people outside would need to be able to fend off any attacks. They had to play this evenhandedly. All the Scouts and Xmen realized how fervently Tuxedo Mask wanted to go, no matter how he tried to seem otherwise. Unfortunately, that wouldn't be possible. They first off needed to be able to find her. The only one of them who could possibly manage something like that would be Sailor Mercury. Her computer already had her energy signature saved in its memory. Of course, she was the only one who could operate it. Second, they chose Kitty. The plan was to get in, find Sailor Moon and then have Shadowcat phase her out of the building as fast as possible. Nightcrawler and Mercury would deal with any resistance and then teleport out to meet her. If something were to happen to Nightcrawler though, they were stuck. So it was decided immediately after that he would teleport back out. Kitty and Sailor Mercury were on their own. And Mercury had the most dangerous job. She would have to deal with any of the Brotherhood or Nemesis Family by herself. Plans changed again. Nightcrawler would try to take one more person and then hope he'd recover in time. He should though since he'd been practicing extensively in endurance teleporting. This time they drew straws. Much to the chagrin of the Scouts, Colossus was chosen. So it was decided. At ten o'clock the Scouts and Xmen would meet in the abandoned apartment building once more and proceed to the Crystal under cover of darkness. For the moment, the Scouts and Xmen would split apart. ***** Tuxedo Mask would not be so easily deterred. He was going and no one was going to stop him. As they went their separate ways, he slunk off into the dark before anyone would think to watch him. He would get Sailor Moon out or die trying. ***** Unbeknownst to Tuxedo Mask though, someone had thought to watch him. Wolverine had noticed his behaviour and decided to tail him. ***** Shadowcat was on cloud nine. Sailor Venus and Sailor Mars had invited her over to supper at the Temple. " Chad and Grandpa are going out to get supplies and stuff and won't be home for a while. We'll just say you're a school friend." Kitty glowed. She couldn't remember the last time anyone outside the Xmen had called her friend. "Yeah." said Sailor Venus "We want to hear about life as an Xmen." They had decided that they could definitely trust them so far as the identity thing went. Jupiter had already told them about meeting up with Storm earlier. "That OK with you team leader?" teased Kitty "Of course Katchzen. Enjoy yourself." "Have fun Kitty." Colossus told her "Oops, I don't have any clothes." "That's OK, I've got lots of stuff at my temple. Jupiter left her jeans there at the last sleep over we had and you're about the same size." "Oh yeah, those jeans. I wondered where they'd gotten too." "We should head back to your apartment Lita." advised Ami. "Yeah, I got some stuff for making Linguini for supper tonight." "Excellent. I love your cooking Lita." "Speaking of which, Tovarisch, we should really get the groceries Storm left us." "If they are still there. Good thing I remembered to get the Image Inducer from her." "Good let's get going. I'll cook." Colossus volunteered "Oh good." said Nightcrawler making a face "My stew is better than the stuff you make." joked Colossus "That "stuff" is - What happened to Wolverine?" "Oh I'm sure he's around here somewhere." said Kitty airily "And he's a big boy, he can find his way back." ***** The tension was gone. The plan was great. They would get Sailor Moon back, of course they would. That's what everyone kept repeating to themselves as they went on their way. ***** A short chapter for once! Well, relatively. Questions?
