Destiny
Chapter 1
PG

That night was dark and dreary. It was dusky with 
nothing but the ghastly shadow of the moon above. Rain fell 
down onto the cold stone steps, as blood mingled with it. 
There were bodies strewn everywhere, killed in some 
perverse way, with heads torn from their other halves, and 
arms in pieces. What had these people done to deserve this? 
Did anyone really deserve this? Through the eerie 
atmosphere, the blood was turned black, and rippling 
through the Goddess's tears. The cold of the night rested 
in someone's small heart, ice freezing itself around it, 
shielding itself from pain. 
That night was dark and dreary, as tears fell from 
eyes of violet soaked flowers. 

	"Endymion,"
	It was a cold wet night, as the young boy looked up 
at the rain falling onto his face, mingling with his tears. 
He had eyes of blue colored gems so breathtakingly 
beautiful it was hard to even look at him. As one sparkling 
tear reflected the moonlight, a white slender hand wiped it 
away. 
	"Endymion, don't cry. We can play another time." The 
Queen of Earth said, gently stroking the milk creamed face. 
	The young boy shook his head, still staring up at the 
stars, silent tears falling on his lips. 
	"She's so sad?"

	"What?"
	A golden braided head said, looking up at the odd 
merchant. Eyes of violet steel gripped his and he almost 
felt the sweet anguish in her eyes. 
	"Ahem? well? I was just trying to make conversation, 
ya see? just askin' if ya be goin' to that ball up in the 
palace tomorrow night." 
Serena narrowed her eyes, and looked to see the joke behind 
the words. But when found that he was completely serious, 
she let out a snort. 
	"Me go to a ball? I don't think so." 
	To go see those stupid women fawn over egotistical, 
equally stupid men. 
	Definitely a no-no. 
	"Oh, that's too bad? I thought a pretty girl like you 
would certainly want to go." She stood gawking at him. 
	Even though he did speak the truth. Gold silk hair 
flowed past her back, curling softly at the end. Violet 
glazed eyes, with hues of darker blue specks, gazed 
steadily back trying to see if this man has gone mad. 
	"Pretty?" she almost laughed. But of course, then she 
would be breaking another promise to herself. No laughing. 
"I'm much too young and how could someone think of me, as 
pretty? You need your eyes checked old man." Shaking her 
head she walked past him and through the bustling streets 
of Earth. 
	"Poor girl?" the merchant murmured before going off 
to another customer. 

	"These people are crazy! Thinking someone like me?" 
she shivered. 
	I wish I could go back to the forest? where the dew 
lay on the grass like droplets of tears in the earth. And 
where you woke up to the chirps of exotic birds, and the 
fur of a magnificent animal by your side?
	She trembled with longing just at the thought. 
	I guess I have to just deal? 
	Before she could think some more, she could hear soft 
footsteps of a stallion, and the lazy whinny through its 
nose. Looking up she saw him. Well the horse, but not only?
	Serena gasped. The most beautiful man was before her. 
He had that silky kind of ebony black hair; silky to the 
end, with glitters of light reflecting upon it. It wasn't 
just that he was extremely gorgeous? it was something 
deeper? something almost familiar about him? she faintly 
caught the images of a small boy with one tear on his lip? 
glistening in the moonlight. And a girl, with blood all 
around her, with tears streaming past the silk eyelashes? 
and falling onto her lap. Then the image of those beautiful 
lapis lazuli eyes? burning with pity for her sadness. 
	Fury swept through her. No one, no one, pitied her. 
Before Serena could rage some more, the boy's eyes, 
beautiful and shimmering, looked right at her.
	And she almost fainted. 
	"Goddess?" she gasped looking at the darker specks of 
blue in his azure eyes. Recognition burned through them. 
	"No? no? no!!" she cried dropping to her knees, 
breathing hard with short gasps. He was delving into her 
mind and it was killing her. 
	"Stop!!! Oh Goddess! STOP!!!!!!" her scream echoed 
through the kingdom and then she saw black. 

	Endymion, the Prince of Earth, could hardly breathe. 
The pain and anguish he had just felt was still coursing 
through his veins. The air he breathed was thick and 
maddened by the shriek that had just reached his ears. He 
had been on his horse, Midnight, and then he was in this 
pain filled world, with blood and horror filled wounds 
seeping madness. 
	And now he was holding onto a small, tender form, 
gently rocking her. 
	"Darien?" Malachite spoke looking down at his friend 
and prince. Darien just looked up at him. 
	"Darien? who is she?" Jadeite asked looking warily 
down at the one Endymion was cradling in his arms.
	Good question. 
	Quickly mounting his horse, all the while keeping her 
safe in his arms, he said, "We must bring her to a healer! 
At once!" 

	The day blurred on like a long, winding headache. 
They had brought the golden head to the healers 
immediately, ignoring the prying looks from his parents and 
advisors. He was talking fast explaining how she had 
screamed and fainted using quick, jerky motions. 
	"What's the matter with her?" the Prince demanded 
looking steadily at the healer. 
	"Well? it's very odd?" the healer said glancing at 
the girl. "She seems to be? hurting? but not physically? 
more like inside? but she just needs to rest. And I'm sure 
that she will be all better." Relief surged through him. 
Then the woman narrowed her eyes with mischief. "Why, 
Prince, is this girl? particularly important to you? She 
does seem a bit young?" 
	He flushed and shook his head. 
	"No, no! of course not! she was just? injured? and 
so?"
	Nodding, the woman walked off glancing back at the 
flustered Prince. 
	It was only that?
	Shaking his head once again, he sat next to the bed 
and waited for her to wake. 

	It was so dark. 
	Serena was aching. She was sore, and her hair, coming 
out of her long braid,  was tangled about all around her in 
a golden heap of silk. 
	"Owww?" getting up from her position, she blinked 
rapidly, trying to see through the dark clouds. "where am 
I?" she asked herself. 
	Before she could do anymore, the darkness was 
shifting, and turning into a form. 
	"What the?" 
	The form was one of a woman in green. Not the pretty 
kind of green that you find in forests, but the dark green 
of swamps, of black weeds of the sea. And her hair! Flaming 
red curls, with gems of emerald greens attatched to it, was 
making her look all the more repulsive. 
	"Ahh? look who it is? I finally found you, dear 
girl!" her voice was like deep silk grating across rotting 
wood. "You see? I've been looking for you for some time! 
Thirteen years to be precise. Always getting right out of 
my hold, child! No more. I going to kill you right here and 
now!" with a snarl, she brought her hands up and green 
lightning balls came between them. 
	Serena knew what was coming. And she couldn't stop 
it. 
	"Now DIE!!!!!!" the woman screamed. 
	Just as Serena saw the dark ball surge towards her, 
her tongue raced in an unknown language, while she glowed 
silver. Her eyes turned blue and almost translucent white. 
Silver surged through her fingers and raced off of her 
nails. Hair floating in a golden heap above her, she let 
all of it lose?
	And screamed. 
	Everything was black.
