"Always There For Me" By: Eowyn (sailoreowyn@hotmail.com) Rating: G This story is dedicated to my best bud in the world, Natasha, for being a wonderful friend who is always there for me. I thank you *ever* so much. *********************************************************** Sailor Moon looked around her. Surrounding her where the bodies of the fallen scouts. She glanced down to her hands where the Moon Wand was, with the Silver Crystal resting on it. Not being able to stand the sight of it, she threw it into her subspace pocket. She looked from one scout to the next, in frantic horror of what had happened, how they had placed themselves in front of her to protect her from Malachite. Tears streaming down her face she looked for a way to leave the horrible place. She ripped her tiara off her head, and aimed it at a wall. "Moon Tiara Magic!" She yelled and threw the tiara into the wall, creating a large opening. As soon as she saw the opening she charged it, neglecting to pick up the tiara that had starting to come back to it's owner. It dropped to the floor in a clatter. The world around her was dark and cool with stars speckling the sky with soft light. Sailor Moon looked up and saw the sea with the moon rising out of it. Hurrying to a dock, she stopped at it's edge and dropped to her knees. "WHY!!!! Why must I live this life! I don't want to be Sailor Moon! I don't want to be the Princess!" She dropped to her knees in despair. "This changes everything for me." she said quietly to herself as she looked up at the moon. "I knew that being a Sailor Scout was going to change my life. But I thought that I'd be able to cope with it. This is entirely different! I'm a Princess! THE Princess! What am I supposed to do from here! Where am I supposed to go? My friends just put their lives in danger to protect me! I don't deserve that! No birth right is worth four lives!! I should be giving my life up for one of them. They all are more fitting for this job than I am. I have nothing. I am nothing!" Sailor Moon covered her face with her hands and wept quietly. "That's not true, Serena. You are *so much more* than nothing. You are everything!" Sailor Venus cried as she ran up to Sailor Moon. She dropped onto her knees in front of the girl and hugged her tightly. Sailor Moon gasped in surprise and looked at her friend. She felt Venus's tears on her neck as the girl cried for her Princess. "Please Serena. Don't cry. Don't say that about yourself! There is so much goodness and kindness inside of you! You are the only one of us that could *ever* be the Princess." "How will that help me be a princess!? I'm the Klutz Queen! I pig out all of the time! I'm always late for everything! I can't be the Princess!" "But, don't you see?" Venus said in utter confusion as she looked into Serena's eyes. "You're the only one whose got the *heart* for the job. The Scouts and I, we've all got our talents, but we are all incomplete! We were all alone until we met you, Serena. You are the one that brings us together and keeps us strong. Without you, we would be nothing. It's the kindness and love that you share with everything around you that makes you the perfect princess. And your grace and elegance will awaken in time, when you are ready to become Queen. Until then, you will continue to be yourself. And even if you can't walk without tripping over your feet, that doesn't mean we will care for you any less! We owe you everything, Serena." "Do you mean that? How can that possibly be true?" "Believe it, Serena. You're the only one for the job." Sailor Moon turned to her left and saw Sailor Jupiter an her knees next to her. "Venus is right, Serena. We'd all be lost without you." She turned to her right to see Sailor Mercury there. "Sailor Moon." Said a said, tear-filled voice. Sailor Moon turned around and saw Sailor Mars standing a few feet away from the group. She stood up and walked over to Mars, her head down in fear of the scolding she would get. "Sailor Moon, I" Mars stopped, looked at Sailor Moon, and took a deep breath "I'm sorry I ever doubted you!!" Mars cried and enveloped the surprised Sailor Moon in a hug. "Thank you for saving us back there. We couldn't have done anything without you...Princess." Serena looked into her friend's face and Mars winked at her. "Thank you, Raye. Thank you *so* much!" She gave Mars a tight squeeze then let her go and walked back to the other scouts. "Thank you. Thank you all *so* much!!" She went and hugged them all. "I know this isn't going to be an easy fight, but at least I know that I have all of you to help me through this." Serena looked back out on the sea. The sun was rising in a glorious display of colors, showing promise of a good day. Serena smiled at the sun rise and took it as a good omen for the future. Then she turned around and faced her friends. "Come on guys. It's a new day, let's go enjoy it!" _______________________________________________________________ Get Free Email and Do More On The Web.
