Lovely Soldier Sailor Saturn By: Eternity Rose E-mail: AznearthGoddess6@aol.com Rated: PG Author's Notes: This story is dedicated to my good friend Azndollie or as I like to think of her, Lady Saturn. She loves Sailor Saturn--god knows why--and I decided, what the heck, and wrote this story. I hope you all like it. BTW, this all takes place during the time of Sailor Cosmos so it's pretty far into the future. And anyone who doesn't know who Sailor Cosmos is--well, she's the ultimate incarnation of Usagi. She's only in the manga so you've got to have read or know the story line to know what's going on in here. If you don't well...sigh. I guess I might as well explain.... Sailor Cosmos faced off with Chaos in the way future but lost all of her friends and had to go to the past to make things right while Chaos was there. She went there, tried to convince Eternal Sailor Moon to destory the Cauldron where all stars are made. Stars being star seeds. The Sailor Senshi's soul more like it. But Eternal Sailor Moon believes that she can face off with Chaos without having to destroy the Cauldron. Now, on to the story. (Ugh, I hate long Author's Notes. No one reads them anyways. I know I sure don't!) Standard Disclaimer: I do not own Sailor Moon and Co. They all belong to Naoko Takeuchi. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ She stood there, looking around herself in the ruins of Crystal Tokyo, of the Crystal Millenium, the 50 Century. Her heart was shattered from the pain of seeing the wreckage of the Sailor Wars. She dropped down to her knees, her Silence Glaive supporting her as she sobbed. So much horror, so much pain, so much death. It was all something she had learned to get used to a long time ago. In a life lived hard through pain and suffering. But this, this was something she hadn't expected through her years of fighting. She was a brave warrior, strong and true. She had seen death in many forms. But now, this was something she had never prepared for and it tore at her heart. Her home was gone. Where she was once accepted laid in nothing but crumbling buildings and dead bodies of her comrades. All of them had fought brave and hard but they were nothing again Sailor Chaos. All of them had fought with all their heart and soul but they had lost. In the distance Eternal Sailor Saturn could see her queen, Neo- Queen Serenity in the form of Sailor Cosmos step through the Gates of Time. Sailor Cosmos looked around in the ruins and shook her head as crystal tears slid down her face. She walked towards Sailor Saturn and dropped down beside the girl. "She has made her choice. She refused to destroy the Cauldron," Sailor Cosmos whispered. "Then all of this shall continue?" Sailor Saturn demanded, her unique purple eyes flashed with anger and sorrow. "Yes," Sailor Cosmos whispered in a dead tone. "Yes, it will all continue. Chaos will live in this time and on." Sailor Saturn shook her head in disbelief and looked at the bodoes of Sailor Uranus, Sailor Neptune and Sailor Pluto. They were her family and now they lay dead. Blood stained their sailor uniforms and fatal wounds marred their skin. She pounded the ground angrily. "NO! Why is she so stupid?" Sailor Saturn shouted. She stood up tiredly and sweeped her arm over all the ruin and death. "Because of her decision we now lay dead. Our armies are nothing. Chaos reigns! Why couldn't you convince her?" "She is strong. She has made her decision," Sailor Cosmos said. "There was nothing I could do. She has so much innocence and belief that everything will work out." She laughed bitterly. "What a fool she was." "A fool she is!" Sailor Saturn shouted angrily. "Because of her we will die and Chaos shall rule. This was not the peaceful future the world had hoped for. The death and terror does not end in the past. It only begins." She lowered her head and bit her lower lip as diamond tears slid down her face and splattered on to the black, blood stained ground. "True," Sailor Cosmos sighed. "The light has been lost. It can never be regained." "Not through this," Sailor Saturn said bitterly. "Never through this." Evil laughter filled the dark air as energy gathered and formed a shadow which slowly began to solidify. Sailor Saturn and Sailor Cosmos snapped their heads up and there stood Sailor Chaos in the body of Neo-Princess Serenity. Rini had grown up differently in this time. She hated everything about her life as princess and desired freedom from the Crown. But that idea had been twisted into something perverse and Chaos had taken over the young girl. Using her as it's tool in it's destruction. "Sailor Chaos!" Sailor Cosmos shouted angrily. "Give me my child back!" Sailor Chaos laughed darkly. Its black eyes flashing. What used to be innocent pink hair was now black, darkened by evil. It was perversly twisted up into the traditional family hairstyle, spilling past young white shoulders and stopping at the knees. Rini had once been Sailor Saturn's best friend. She was a kind girl with wonderful energy and life. But something had changed her one day and she became something that wasn't pure anymore. Chaos had stolen a moment of anger and slowly changed it something that worse. Hate. Evil. Corruption. Death. There was a time in the 20th Century when that had happened. Sailor Saturn remembered the story that had been told to her by her good friend, Rini. The Wise Man had used her lonliness as something to manipulate her into thinking no one loved her. But she had been saved through love from her mother in the past. This time there was no hope for Sailor Cosmos had lost her light and love and wouldn't be able to use the same technique to win her daughter back in this time. Sailor Saturn watched in horror as her best friend gathered a ball of energy in her hands and threw it at Sailor Cosmos. "No! Rini, stop!" Sailor Saturn shouted as she watched Sailor Cosmos get thrown back, dark power ripping up the ground and throwing the dead bodies of the Sailor Soldiers out of the way. Sailor Saturn rushed over to Sailor Cosmos who laid there, still. Too still. Sailor Saturn dropped down beside Sailor Cosmos and took her bloody hand. Sailor Cosmos' silver hair was stained with blood and her skin was red and white, contrasting in a twisted way. "Cosmos, Cosmos, wake up!" Sailor Saturn shouted desperately. "Wake up!" Sailor Cosmos opened her eyes and looked up at the tearful Sailor Saturn. She smiled, her silver eyes lighting up with realization and something lost so long ago. She reached out and touched Sailor Saturn on the cheek. "Through Darkness there is Light, my Soldier of Destruction," Sailor Cosmos whispered. Then she closed her eyes and went limp. Through Darkness there is Light. Those words repeated themselves over and over in Sailor Saturn's mind as she kneeled there beside her dead queen and leader. She looked at the peaceful face of Sailor Cosmos and understood what she meant. Sailor Saturn was the Soldier of Destruction. But she could push past that if she only looked for the light buried deep inside of her. Sailor Cosmos had lost her light but Sailor Saturn hadn't lost it completely for it was the only thing that kept her a pure scout. She always had another part of her, an evil part. If she didn't have the light inside of her she wouldn't be able to battle that part each and every day. Sailor Cosmos didn't have an evil counterpart therefore lost her light completely. Knowing what her queen meant, Sailor Saturn was ready to accept the responsibility of making everything right again. "Are you going to cry, Sailor Saturn, now that your precious queen is dead?" Sailor Chaos mocked. "No," Sailor Saturn shouted, shaking her head as she struggled to her feet with new found energy and life. "I shall not weep for there are no tears to be shed when life has began." Sailor Chaos laughed at Sailor Saturn's strange words. "Do you really think you'll win? Even Sailor Cosmos is dead and she is the most powerful of you pathetic scouts." "She lost her power when she lost her light," Sailor Saturn shouted. But she is forever good, she thought as she took her strength and love from her queen's spirit. The one who had always accepted her, loved her, cared for her. Sailor Saturn held her glaive in front of her and looked up at Chaos. "You shall never win, Chaos! Love will always prevail!" She shouted. Chaos laughed and threw a massive sphere of energy at Sailor Saturn. Sailor Saturn leaped out of the way and landed easily on her feet. She whipped her glaive around and faced off with Chaos. "Lend me your strength, my friends," she whispered. Then she slammed her Silence Glaive's end down on the ground with much determination as she prepared herself for an attack that she hadn't used in many milleniums. "We'll see each other again after this. I promise." "Death Reborn Revolution!!" Everything became silent and cold. Sailor Chaos looked around herself in fright as it realized what was about to happen. Then it smiled, it could face it off. But it faltered. A fatal mistake. Then from where Eternal Sailor Saturn stood came an explosion of power and love as Sailor Saturn reborned the world. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Where am I?" Hotaru asked as she looked around herself. She was floating in a world of completely light and love dressed in a long purple gown with her Saturn symbol clear on her forehead an glowing with power. "Am I in heaven?" "No, your just in between," a soft voice said. Hotaru immediately reconized that voice. "Neo-Queen Serenity!" She gasped. The light dimmed a bit as the Queen of Crystal Tokyo appeared dressed in her white regal gown with her crystal tiara-crown on. She held her royal scepter with the Silver Crystal glowing bright from it. "Hotaru, you did well," Neo-Queen Serenity whispered happily. She embraced the stunned girl as tears slid down her face. "You have saved the world with your light." "Is everyone okay?" Hotaru asked fearfully as she returned the hug. "We're all fine," a cheery voice said. Hotaru cried out when she saw her friend, Neo-Princess Serenity standing there in her princess gown, her red eyes returned along with the pink hair. Hotaru rushed over to her friend and hugged her tightly. Both cried as they remembered all that they had been through. "Everyone's here," Hotaru sobbed. (AN: Sorry if it seems Hotaru is crying a lot but this is an emotional moment, ya know.) "And we're all okay," Rini added happily. Hotaru looked up to see all her friends appear. Along with Luna and Artemis. Neo-King Endymion was holding his wife tenderly. She smiled through her tears as she saw everyone she loved appear before her. "You have done a wonderful job. I'm very proud of you," Haruka said thickly as she embraced Hotaru. Hotaru hugged her "father" back, tears slipping down her face. Michiru appeared and hugged her. Then Setsuna. She hugged them all and smiled. She noticed that Haruka was actually wearing her regal queen gown and giggled. Haruka rarely wore that thing. "Now, let's go home," Neo-Queen Serenity said happily. "Home? But I destroyed it," Hotaru said, shaking her head. "You reborned it," Neo-Queen Serenity corrected. She held the hands of her husband and daughter as they stepped through a portal of light. The Inner Senshi followed their queen. "Ready?" Haruka asked. "I'm not sure if I want to see what happened. I know what the attack does but I don't know if it worked!" Hotaru said a bit shrilly. "Don't worry about it. Everything worked out for the best," Setsuna assured her. "Chaos is gone, sent to a place where it could never hurt a single being ever again." "Where?" Hotaru asked. "To the Cauldron where the Guardian there will make sure it never returns," Michiru said, smiling. Hotaru smiled as well and nodded. "All right. Let's go." They all joined hands and stepped through the portal. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Catch me if you can!" Rini laughed as she dashed past a tree with Hotaru following her. "No fair! You had a head start!" Hotaru shouted as she ran after her best friend. Neo-Queen Serenity and Neo-King Endymion laughed as they watched their daughter and savior of Crystal Tokyo play as little kids when they looked the good age of eighteen. (AN: Mind you, I said looked. Makes ya wonder what their real ages are, don't ya?) "Everyone's so happy, Endymion," Serenity whispered as she leaned against her husband. They sat underneath a tree with their picnic spread out all over the place. The Inner Senshi had taken a walk and the Outer Senshi were lounging not far from where Serenity and Endymion sat. "Of course. There's no more threats of evil and Crystal Tokyo has finally been restored to peace and prosperity," Endymion declared happily. "Yes. And all because of light and love. Amazing how things so simple could do so much," Serenity sighed. Endymion smiled and shook his head. "Not so simple. Light and love are hard things to keep in the face of remorse and death. But once you have kept them through all of that, they're the most important of things." Then he leaned forward and kissed his beautiful wife. Hotaru smiled as she watched her king and queen kiss. She paused for that moment, looking at the happy sight before her. Because of her light and love she had been able to perserve this. If she could, she would do it all over again. "Hotaru!" Rini pouted. "Stop looking at them. It's disgusting! 1,000 some years and they still haven't gotten it in their heads not to kiss in front of people like they were teenagers." Hotaru laughed and continued to chase the princess. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I hope you all liked this story. It was really fun for me to write. I think I might actually have a poetic soul. Go figure. Yep...go figure very hard. My good friends, Lady Saturn, Lady Mars and Lady Venus would know why you have to go figure really hard. E-mail me and tell me what you think. Eternity Rose
