Adam Allgood pianodrums@aol.com I have noticed that other authors post disclaimers before their stories. Here's one. Sailor Moon, and all related characters belong to Naoko Takeuchi and Kodansha, Bandai, Dic, etc. Star Trek, created by Gene Roddenberry, and all of it's related characters belong to Paramount Pictures. Any other characters were created by me. Star Trek: Sailor Moon Mutual Dilemma Chapter 2 His world exploded like the thunderous crash that began the cosmos. Commander Riker knew that much. His mind existed in a state between conscious and unconscious; where external stimuli was noticed slightly, but he did not care. There was no focus to his thoughts, no drive. His mind's voices were chaotic, with no dominant speaker. Unconsciousness attempted to lure Riker in. "Let's go" said unconscious. "Relax. Everything is safe. Everything is under control. Come, go to sleep. You are so tired, just relax and sleep." The mind of Riker teetered on the edge of sleep. A seemingly endless drop into oblivion called to him, pulling him in. "No!" cried a voice that cut the chaos like a knife; the voice of the conscious mind. "No! It is not all right! Wake up, something is wrong! You need to fix it." The mind of Riker stopped to listen, but did not completely regain physical senses. "Don't relax" called the voice. "Come with me." "Stop worrying so much! Nothing is wrong, go to sleep." External sensations began to flood Riker's mind. "Something is wrong" continued conscious. "The ship, the Enterprise was in a battle! You are on that ship. The bridge! You are on the bridge! Feel the surface beneath you, it is not your bed! You are on the bridge. Against the Borg! The Borg!" "The Borg!" Instantly, the mind of Commander Riker organized into a unified voice. Physical sensations began to have meaning, and the flood of stimuli was almost overwhelming. His cheek was pressed hard against a coarse surface; carpeting! He was lying prone without a blanket, in uniform! Familiar chirps from bridge stations clarified his location. Riker groaned and sat up. Opening his eyes, he saw the semiconscious form of his captain near him. "Sir, wake up!" said Riker Picard moaned and stirred. He slowly sat up, and moved back towards the command chair. "Data, status report please." He said. There was no response from OPS. "Data? Commander Data?" The android's insensate body lay near the viewscreen. "Data!" Picard and Riker rushed to the commander's side. His head panel was open, but there was no activity inside. "We must get a status report, number one" said Picard. He walked back towards the command, and checked over an unconscious Deanna Troi. He then flipped a control on the armrest of his command chair. "Engineering, report." he said. There was no response from engineering. "Communications must be down," said Riker. "I'll go to Engineering." "Thank you, Will" said Picard. "I will try to ascertain our current location so we do not crash. Please try to contact sick bay and life support." "Aye sir." Riker moved towards the turbo-lift and opened the doors. Instead of a waiting elevator, a deep shaft leading into the bowels of the Enterprise greeted him. Commander Riker let out a little yelp. "I think I'll use the Jefferies tubes" He said. He climbed down the ladder. Captain Picard moved towards the vacant OPS station. Beside it, the helm was also empty. The unconscious helmsman was over on the far wall. Behind him, Picard heard a grunt. Worf was regaining consciousness. Picard opened the computer at OPS and activated the short range sensors. Earth was rotating slowly below them. The instruments registered a stable orbit. Good, thought Picard. At least we won't crash. Now let's look for the Devil's cube. Tokyo was in chaos. Everywhere, people were flooding into the streets and screaming for loved ones. There was no true damage, but the mighty flash in the sky was enough to spark a full fledged melee. Serena and her family went outside. "We need to find Sammy!" cried Serena's mother. "Lets split up and look for him!" "No need mom!" called out an excited voice. Sammy, Serena's younger brother, rushed into his mom's waiting arms. Serena took advantage of this temporary distraction. "I'm going to the temple, mom" she said, and ran off. Luna followed close behind. Serena would explain everything to her mother later. On her way out, Serena encountered her friend Amy. Amy appeared to be on her way to the temple as well. "Amy!" cried Serena. "Hi! Do you have any idea what that big light was?" Amy, the analyst of the Sailor Scouts shrugged. "I'm not exactly sure. I took readings of the sky around where the flash occurred, but they were inconclusive. It could have been a large meteor that exploded in our atmosphere, but I didn't see any proof. In fact, I didn't get any readings at all." "What does that mean?" inquired Serena. "Well, either that flash emitted no energy whatsoever, or it..." Amy paused, stammering. "It what?" prompted Luna. "It may have occurred outside our atmosphere, in space." "That would be a huge explosion" muttered the cat. "It would indeed." said Amy, shaking her head.
