Chapter 2 -Meet Luna and Ami

  "Mamo-chan, I'm scared!" Usagi cried out in fear, 
it was dark, and the storm was creepy, and there was 
an added problem, which scared her more than any 
thing. No electricity meant..no heat.

  Mamoru made his way over to Usagi, he knew his 
home well and was able to make his way over to her 
with little problems.  He gently wrapped his arms 
around her waist. "It's all right Usako, don't be 
afraid, I'm here for you."

  Usagi shivered and leaned back on Mamoru.  "I 
know, it's just that..if the electricity doesn't 
come on soon, it's going to get really cold in 
here." Usagi said, telling Mamoru something he 
hadn't thought of yet. 

  "We'll be all right Usako, I've got lots of 
blankets, don't you worry," he told her and led her 
over to the couch where they sat in comfortable 
silence. Until they heard a scratching and meowing 
at the door. "That's odd, animals aren't allowed in 
the apartment building," he said aloud and went to 
open the door. 

  When he did in stepped a shivering black cat with a 
crescent moon mark on her head.  Usagi used her 
telepathy to see what was going on. "Aww, poor 
kitty!" she exclaimed and the cat made her way over 
to Usagi and collapsed.

  Usagi picked up the cat and gasped. "She's so 
cold!" 

  "I'll get a warm blanket." Mamoru said and went to 
the closet and dug out a fuzzy blanket and brought 
it to Usagi.  She took it and wrapped the cat in it 
hugging her to her body.  

  'Why do you seem so familiar, huh Kitty?' Usagi 
wondered silently. "Please be OK Luna," she said not 
realizing that she had called the small cat by her 
name.  

  "Luna huh?  It suits her," Mamoru chuckled.  

  Moments later Luna stirred, feeling warm and safe. 
  "Meow," she said kawaiily looking up at the young 
girl who so protectively held her to her.  'Could it 
be, is she the one I've been searching for all this 
time?  The hairdo, those eyes, and I sense something 
about her, her male friend as well.  I just can't 
place it.  Moon, could she be the senshi of the 
moon?' Luna wondered to herself and purred.  'He's 
linked to the earth, I feel it.' she finished her 
thoughts.

  Usagi smiled and pet Luna.  "Ahh, so you are awake 
Luna!" she exclaimed, momentarily forgetting about 
the predicament they were all in.

  "You know my name!" Luna said out loud forgetting 
herself.

  Usagi and Mamoru gasped. "Usako, did that cat just 
talk?" Mamoru asked wide eyed.

  Usagi gulped. "I-I think so," she said looking 
into the cat's crimson eyes, gazing into her mind 
and heart.

  Luna knew then and there that this was the young 
lady that she had been looking for.  Nobody else but 
her had the ability to do what she could.  
"Sailormoon." she said, and that one word woke up 
powers that Usagi never knew she had.  Luna looked 
over at Mamoru who was looking at the two. "Tuxedo 
Kamen." she said and awakened his powers.  

  

  Luna was slightly mistaken when she identified 
Usagi as 'Sailor Moon'.  She knew that this girl was 
connected with the Moon in some way, but it was not 
yet time for her to know that this engaging young 
woman was the Moon Princess that must be found. 

  There was no Sailor Moon in the Silver Millennium 
and when Crystal Tokyo was formed there would, once 
again, be a Sailormoon. Sailor Moon was a soldier of 
only this era. 



  Mamoru felt an object form in his hand and the 
object glowed, not much, just enough for him to see 
what it was. "A rose," he choked out.  

  "Yes, Tuxedo Kamen, a rose, but no ordinary rose, 
this one will activate your powers as the protector 
and avatar of the Earth." Luna told him.  At his 
look of confusion when she said 'avatar' Luna nodded 
her head. "Yes, you are the avatar of earth. Prince 
Endymion." she told him then climbed out of the 
blankets, immediately missing the warmth.

  She then did a backflip with a twist and this 
created a gold brooch with a crescent moon in the 
middle and four gems surrounding it. One blue, one 
red, one green, and the other orange. "It's pretty 
Luna." Usagi said. 

  "It's not just a bobble, it's your transformation 
locket. When evil strikes all you have to do is hold 
it up and say 'Moon Prism Power, Make UP' and your 
powers will awaken.  Needless to say your identities 
must be kept secret from those who are not senshi." 
Luna explained.

  Usagi saw that this cat could probably be a real 
slave driver so she decided to keep quiet about most 
of her abilities, this cat would be kept in the dark 
as much as her parents were.  "OK Luna," she said.



  Not to far away a group of women not much older 
than Usagi looked at each other and nodded.  "Luna 
has found the Princess." Setsuna said.  "Only she 
does not know that she is the Moon Princess, she 
believes that Usagi is a senshi as well, a sailor 
soldier of the Moon." 

  "I guess it would wise to reveal her identity to 
herself would it?" Haruka asked.  

  "No, that would be too dangerous," Setsuna 
answered.  She knew that it would not be easy for 
Usagi.  "She has many obstacles ahead of her, we 
must watch from a distance, and only show up if 
absolutely necessary.  We cannot let them see us as 
one of their group," Setsuna told them.

  "Not to say we can't befriend her though." Michiru 
asked.

  "Right." Setsuna agreed.  

  "The Princess of the White Moon's string of life 
is fragile right now, without the Silver Crystal 
her powers are weak and she is ill protected." 
Hotaru told them.  She was the youngest of the 
group, but she was powerful.  As a soldier of Death 
she was also a senshi of Rebirth.

  "Then we will protect her!" Michiru said.  "If it 
must be in secret then so be it.  We never 
officially pledged ourselves to her, that evil witch 
stopped us.  We failed her then, we could not 
protect her, I will not fail her this time," she 
finished her impassioned speech as all the others 
nodded in agreement.

  "Usagi-onee-chan, was the first person who was not 
a senshi to care for me." Hotaru whispered.  "You 
know something?  She knew.  She knew that Beryl was 
going to attack.  She also knew that no one could do 
any thing about it."

  

  "Luna, why did you give us our powers?  Is there 
some kind of trouble." Usagi asked the small black 
cat.

  "My contacts have alerted me to trouble that has 
brought me to believe that you two should be 
awakened.  

  Mamoru blinked. "Contacts?  A cat has contacts?"  
he said, slightly air-headedly.

  "Begging your highness' pardon, I was not always a 
cat.  Queen Serenity changed my form into that of a 
cat so that I could watch over the Princess and the 
other senshi in a form that would not cause 
questions to asked."  Luna told him.

  "Oh, ok.  And don't call me 'your highness', I'm 
Chiba Mamoru here."  he said.  

  All of the sudden a vision flashed though Usagi's 
eyes.  Her abilities had never done this before.  
"Naru-chan.." she whispered as she saw her best 
friend screaming with this strange creature 
attacking her.  "Mamo-chan, I think we may be 
needed!" she said urgently.  "Come on, to the 
OSA-P!" she said running out of the apartment 
completely forgetting about the terrible weather and 
her jacket."  

  She ran, her best friend was in trouble, and she 
was still twelve blocks from the OSA-P.  'I wish I 
could transport there. I'm so cold.' she thought to 
herself as she ran.  

  Finally she got there, with Tuxedo Kamen not far 
behind her, but in better shape than she was.  She 
was out of breath and her soft skin was hard with 
cold.  Her body's temperature almost dangerously low.  
  She cared not about this.  Her vision, it was true 
and she saw Naru-chan screaming and a large group of 
people drained of energy.  "Moon Prism Power, Make 
UP!!" she yelled and in a flash of ribbons she was 
Sailormoon.  'Please let me remember my powers soon 
enough to save her.' she pleaded.  *Help her 
Sailor Moon, you'll remember when the time is right!* 
her inner voice advised her.  

  With her increased strength as Sailor Moon she 
picked Naru up and hid her behind the counter.  
"Stay here Miss.  I'll do my best to get rid of 
this..creature." she told her and ran out to 
confront that creature. 

  "A jewelry shop is a place of sparkly stones, you 
sparkle not at all.  I am the sailor suited soldier 
of love and justice, and in place of the moon I 
shall punish you!" she shouted doing a series of 
moments. Internally she wondered where that speech 
came from.  

  "AHHHHH!!!" the creature screamed and used some 
odd powers and the drained people got up and 
cornered Sailor Moon.  Right then a red blur streaked 
by.  Sailor Moon looked up.

  "Impeccable timing Tuxedo Kamen-sama!" she told 
him. 

  "Do not be fooled by this creatures powers.  You 
have a strength that can defeat her!"  he told her. 
*Aw man, you gotta get a better speech than that!  
Can we say corny?* his inner voice chided him. 
'Corny.' her sarcastically replied. *I knew you 
could.* 'It's not like I'm in real control when 
these dumb speeches come to my brain!'

  While Tuxie was talking to his self a power awoke 
in Sailor Moon.  Blinking once she touched her tiara 
at the red gem and it began to glow. She took it off 
and instinct took in.  She twirled around.  
"TIARA....ACTION!!" she said and threw the glowing, 
spinning, discus at the youma.  Impact! It hit the 
creature, sliced through it, and came right back to 
Sailor Moon. The youma was little more than dust now. 
  She couldn't help but be amazed at what she had 
done. 

  "Is it gone?" Naru asked peeking up from behind 
the counter.  

  "Yes miss," Sailor Moon said and bowed respectfully 
and Tuxedo Kamen jumped down, landing beside her. 

  "Thank you both, you saved us all," Naru said 
smiling.  

  Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Kamen both smiled and walked 
out the door together, jumping towards the top of 
buildings.  "Mamo-chan, where can we go, your 
apartment, it will be far to cold...but Luna, she's 
still there."  Usagi said after they both 
detransformed.  

  "Don't worry about me Usagi-chan, I came with 
Mamoru." Luna said peeking her head out of Mamoru's 
jacket.  "Still, you do have a point, where can we 
go?" she added.

  "The only place I can think of would be the 
hospital.  It will have both electricity and heat." 
he told them.

  Usagi thought for a moment, then looked up. "How 
far is it?" she asked.

  "Not far, about a quarter mile." Mamoru answered. 
"Let's go before it get's colder." he said and led 
the way.



  Once there they made sure Luna was hidden and 
walked in to the visitor's area.  "Oh thank goodness 
we're here, it's so cold out there." Usagi said 
still shivering.  (AN: Remember she forgot her 
jacket)  

  They found a seat and sat down close to each other 
and tried to warm up.  Only five minutes later a 
young woman about Usagi's age and a doctor came out 
of a room.  

  "Excuse me, can I help you?" the doctor asked the 
two, noticing Usagi's shivering and skin that looked 
close to frostbitten.  

  Mamoru looked up at the doctor and smiled.  "We 
just had to find a warm place to stay until the 
electricity comes back on." he told her.

  Dr. Mizuno, as her tag read, bent down and looked 
at Usagi's fingers.  "Why don't you have a jacket on 
miss?" she asked quietly.

  Usagi paled a little, what could she say?  "I was 
in a hurry to get out." she said in a voice that was 
merely a whisper.

  "Usako, are you alright?" Mamoru asked looking 
closely at the small girl that was snuggled up next 
to him.  

  "I'm still so cold Mamo-chan, and I'm so 
sleepy..." she said trying to fight back a yawn.  
Slowly she closed her eyes and leaned her head on 
Mamoru's shoulder, asleep.

  "I'll get her a blanket." the young blue haired 
girl said and quickly went to do as she said.  

  "She'll be fine, I'm sure, sir, but if she 
develops a fever or chills be sure and bring her to 
the ER." Dr. Mizuno told Mamoru after checking 
Usagi's pulse and checking her forehead just to be 
sure. 

  "Alright doctor, I will." Mamoru said and covered 
Usagi up with the blanket that the girl had brought 
back.  "Thank you..."

  "Mizuno Ami." the girl said and smiled.

  "Thank you Ami-san.  I'm Chiba Mamoru." Mamoru 
said and shook her hand.  

  "No problem, Chiba-san." Ami said and sat down.  
"She goes to the same school as I do. That's 
Usagi-san isn't it?" she asked.

  "Yes, she is." he nodded his head.  

  "She's smarter than she acts like she is, I can 
tell." Ami said once her mother had left.  

  "I'd have to agree." Mamoru grinned as the girl in 
his arms stirred.

  Inside Mamoru's jacket Luna listened to Ami talk. 
'Could it be, finding three of them in one day is 
far to much hope for, but..this girl, she is linked 
to Mercury.  

  "Well, it was nice meeting you Mamoru-san, but I 
need to go now." Ami said as she stood up.

  "It was nice to meet you as well Ami-san." Mamoru 
said and smiled at her.

Before I scoot I was wondering if any one had any 
ideas on what would be the best way to introduce Rei 
into the story.  Also I'd like to let you know that 
until all of the senshi get introduced the story 
will probably move pretty fast, after I get them all 
in I'll slow it down some what.  ^_^
