Darien sat at the Crown Game Center as usual as Rini drank her ice cream soda. It had become their tradition since ... well since... Serena had died. Though it really was only six months to Darien each second seemed eternity... The fact that she died was unbearably but the fact that Rini still existed was torture. Darien knew Serena would one day return and they would marry and have Rini, but when... The same question revolved around his head every second. He still blamed himself for Serena's death and felt tormented with he fact that she was -- somehow alive but not with him... The strange part was when Serena died she seemed to have ceased to exist. Her family no longer knew her, or Darien, Rini, and her friends. Nobody remembered her not Molly, Melvin, Andrew, no one. It was like she never had been born. Only Darien, Rini, Luna, Artimas, and the Sailor Scouts had any memory of Serena. And they had all changed since her death. Rini realized how much Serena loved her and how she always was there to protect her even when she was being mean to her. Raye discovered how much she missed scolding her on being late and what a truly great leader she was. Mina realized she missed Serena clumsiness but always bright mood she was in. Lita realized she missed her laziness but sweetness. Amy missed Serena's lack of enthusiasm for school and work and how she would always beg her for test answers. Pluto and Saturn missed her friendship. Even Sailor Neptun and Uranus missed her kindness and naive ways that made her so innocent. Luna missed correcting and lecturing her but always was there to fight. Artimas missed how she matured into a brave fighter of justice. But most of all Darien missed every single thing about her. He missed her smile, how she was a crybaby, how she was always there to save her friends, Rini, the world, and himself, how she always remained true to him and never did anything to hurt him, her compassion and caring ways, and the list went on forever. He missed her with all his heart and wanted her back with so much. After she was gone and since no one remembered them Rini and Luna lived with Darien. Darien loved Rini but he always was sad when he saw her knowing that she was his and Serena's daughter and that she was so much like her in many ways. Darien liked Luna a great deal and when Rini had went to bed they would recall Serena and her mark she had left upon all of them. Darien snapped out of his deep thoughts of Serena when he saw across the table next to him he saw a couple fighting. The man was much older than the girl and must have been at least twenty-seven, he had black hair that was somewhat long, tall and muscular build, and cold gold eyes. The girl on the other had was no more than sixteen, her short blonde hair was tied in a ponytail and her blue eyes were like the sky only they seemed so sad and lonesome, she looked very fragile and weak as well. Darien didn't hear what they were saying but the girl's eyes welded up with tears and to his shock the man slapped her across the face and stormed out the door. Darien got up from his seat, went up to the girl, and asked, "Are you all right?" The girl looked up at him with a frightened expression which then turned into an expression of someone trying to remember something, she shook her head and replied, "Umm ... yeah I'm okay..." "Are you sure?" Darien asked in concern. "Yeah... I just made Jared mad and he got angry ... it's not his fault ... he just has a short temper..." "Jared?" "Oh! My boyfriend" "Ah ... and you are...?" "Celeste" she answered "Please to meet you, I'm Darien" he said and sat down across from her. The same expression feel upon the girl's face, "What an unusual name ... it sounds so familiar though..." "Where are your parents?" "Huh?" "Where are your parents?" repeated Darien. "They died in a fire five years ago" she mumbled glumly. "You are alone then?" "Yeah ... well except for Jared ... and Selene..." "Who's Selene? A cat?" "No I hate cats she's my goldfish ... or was" "Oh" murmured Darien as the slight glimmer of hope that she was Serena faded from his heart. "Why?" she asked curiously "Well, if I were your father I would never let my daughter be treated like that!" "He doesn't mean to!" implored Celeste. "Well, I still don't agree with it!" "Why do you look so sad?" Celeste then asked. "I was just thinking about my old girlfriend ... you remind me so much of her" "Did she dump you?" she then asked "Died," Darien sighed. "Oh I'm terribly sorry" "It's all right, it just I love her so much, and there are some many things I miss about her" Darien answered. "Like what?" "Most of all her ridiculous hair style!" "OH!" Celeste laughed, "but it couldn't be as ridiculous as mine when I was younger! I would tie two buns on the top of my head and let the rest of my hair hang down in pigtails from each bun. It looked like lemons with streamers on my head!" End of Chapter 1 ************************************************************ Did that catch your interest? Good beginning to a sequel? Or bad?
