Chapter 6

It was Jack. He stood at the mouth of the alleyway. He was angry but 
otherwise unarmed. Sailor Mars wondered where he got his courage from, he was
indeed very brave to have confronted an unknown force alone. 

	"It's you." The man in black said to Jack.  

Mars was taken back, as was Jack. The man couldn't have possibly known
Jack.

	"Who are you?" Mars asked again.

But the man ignored her question and looked down at Serena instead. She 
was beginning to stir in his arms. 

	"What's going on?" Her voice was weak and whispery, as if she'd
just waken up from a deep sleep. 

Seeing this, the man gently layed her down on the ground. He looked at
Sailor Mars and Jack. "Take care of her." he said softly as he turned
away.

	"Wait! Who are you?" Mars shouted after him. He didn't say 
anything, instead something shot through the air and landed at her feet.

A black rose.

Mars gasped. A rose! Her mind immediately went to Tuxedo Mask. 
Tuxedo Mask was the only person she knew who threw roses, yet this
man here. He had thrown a rose too. What did it all mean? She bent
down and picked it up in her hands. One of the thorns pricked her 
finger, and Sailor mars saw a small stream of red blood seep from her 
finger. She ignore this. They had a lot of more important thing to
worry about. 

This man who'd tried to capture Serena was certainly not a simple
character. He had incredible power. Mars could sense it now, even if
he hadn't used it on her. What did he want from Serena? Enemy or friend?
That was the most confusing question. He hadn't wanted to hurt them, 
he'd let Serena go in the end and yet, she wasn't so sure who's side
he was on. And he'd known who they were, all their identities and 
even their past on the moon kingdom. What did all this mean? Had
he been part of the moon kingdom too? And Jack...

Immediately, her mind left the man in black. Instead, her thoughts
went immediately to Jack. She spun around to face him and found him
struggling to help Serena stand up. Seeing Serena there, she didn't
say anything. But inside her mind asked a thousand questions.

	"I want to talk to you. Jack." Raye said as soon as they'd
gotten back to Cherry Hill Temple and with Serena now resting in
her own bed. She was ready to ask all the question that has been
pounding through her head.

Jack had been by Serena's side every since they got back from the
alleyway. Raye had let him stay there, she felt better that way.

He shrugged carelessly now. "Sure."

So they left Serena's side for that moment, and headed outside into
the gathering darkness.

	"Who are you, Jack?" Raye asked almost at once as they 
stepped outside.

Jack stared at her. "What do you mean?" 

Raye shook him, hard. "I mean, who are you? You're not just Jack
Nagano, at all. Are you?" she shook her head. "No. You're too complicated
to be just Jack Nagano. Tell me. Are you an enemy, or are you our
friend?" 

Jack shook her head. "Raye, I think you should trust me enough now, to know
that i am your friend." 

Her face eyes softened and she shook her head in confusion. "I'm sorry, Jack
I shouldn't have said that, it's just that everything is starting to pick 
up speed again, and sometimes i feel as though i can't keep up at this pace."
She turned away "I've been a scout for almost three years now, and i still
can't handle all this fighting." she paused. "Serena is right. Fighting doesn't
help anything. It's hope we all rely on."  

Jack nodded. He understood. 

He'd heard of the story of the Sailor Scout from Serena. How they'd died
protecting their beloved moon kingdom and Silver Millennium The ultimate 
sacrifice made by Queen Serenity, when she used the imperium Silver Crystal
to send her daughter, princess Serenity and the rest of her court to a new 
life on Earth. He had heard about the other girl's life before their quest as
a Scout had begun, and than finally he'd learnt of the sacrifices all the girls
had to make in the awakening of their powers and identity. And so their renewed
destiny had begun...

And Jack had understood. He'd felt for them. Before he met these five extraordinary
girls, he'd pitied himself. He'd thought the world revolves around no one but
himself. And he'd been wrong. These five girls here had been forced to face a
fate much more painful than his. Self pity was an awful sin. 

	"I know Raye. I understand." he patted her gently on the shoulder.

Raye looked up and smiled at him. For a moment, she wasn't sure about
what to say. His simple words had touched her. But at last, she'd 
remembered her purpose in speaking him. "Try to remember Jack." Than she walked
back into the temple and left Jack standing outside.

	"I'm scared." Serena said in a soft voice. She looked up into
Jack's eyes and saw it's intensity reflecting into her now, sad eyes.

Jack sighed and looked down at the sad face in front of him. Yet
the warmth he felt this time was different. This time, it was the warmth 
and love of a young warrior who was lost.  

He touched his hands and felt a sudden energy through his fingers. It was
almost as though, there was a link between them. (Like Serena and Darien 
but in a different way) And suddenly he understood. 

In her early years as Sailormoon, Serena had tried and tried and 
tried to make sense of why this destiny had been given to her, why god
had given her a chance to live her life as ditzy, klutzy Serena and had
taken that away from her just as life was beginning to blossom or
why she'd had to battle a secret war when she all she wanted was
a carefree life as Serena Usagi Tsukino.

But she never stopped dreaming and that was the Serena, Jack admired
most.

	"Look, Serena."  Jack said at last. "Sometimes, being afraid
is okay. It's part of our world as a human being."  

Serena shook her head vigorously "But I don't want to be a coward. I 
want to protect my friends." She whispered. "I'm still afraid. I mean,
maybe I'll die tomorrow and I'll never be able to see all of you guys
again."

He shook his head. "Oh Serena. sometimes being courageous or brave 
doesn't mean the person is totally fearless. Whatever happens, there 
will always be fear alive in this world. What is more important is that,
the person is able to live with the fear inside her and still fight for 
what she thought was right. It's all in the heart Serena. And i believe
you can do more than that. You must know by now that you are a very strong
person." he paused. "I've always admired your courage. You shorn with such
radiance and warmth that sometimes even I'm overwhelmed by the love inside
you. You really are something special, Serena." 

Serena smiled and shook her head gently. "I'm sorry Jack. I'm just scared
cause all the fighting is starting to happen again. I don't to loose
anyone."

Jack patted her hands "And you won't." 

	"Thanks Jack." She smiled. "You know, you'll make a really good
big brother."

He's lips broke into something almost like smile. And Serena wondered how
long it had been since Jack had last smiled.

	"Oh my god! Did you hear the news!" Molly screamed the next day as
she rushed up to Serena to update her on the sensational luck the school 
has had lately. 

	"First, we get a the hunk from Australia (Jack), and now
it's even better. Did you know that the Three Lights are going to be
coming to our school!" she squealed.

A tired looking Serena looked up from her desk. She'd been sleeping.
She hated to admit it, but ever since the new monsters had started
appearing, life had became awfully hard. She was so often tired, and 
the attacks from the new enemies has became increasingly frequent. The
scouts had been right, it did seem as though all the attacks had been
focused on her and lately. Ever since the appearance of that man,
the other girls had became so protective that Serena felt as though 
she was being followed.

She sighed. "Molly. I really don't care at the moment." And closed her
eyes again.

Molly wrinkled her eyebrows and looked at her worrily "Are you okay,
Serena? You've been awfully quite lately. And-and we hardly ever go 
out anymore." her voice grew soft.

Serena opened her eyes again, and noticed for once that Molly was
feeling left out. 
	
	"Oh Molly. I'm so sorry. It's just that, well life is different
now. Everything is different." she reached out to touch Molly's hands.
"But I'll always be your best friend."

Molly looked at her for a long time but before she could say anything
else, a huge commotion broke out among the students and a burst of cheers
went up. Girls were screaming their heads off and it seemed as though
everyone was trying to squeeze out through the same door to get at the
uproar outside.

	"It's the three lights!" someone was screaming.

	"Hey Seiya!"

	"Go Taiki!"

	"I love you Yaten!" 

Watching all the people, including Molly rushing towards the door, Serena 
tried to shut out the noise everyone was making. But that would have
been too much of a treat. Because in just a matter of seconds, the
students from the corridors have filed into the Classroom.

She closed her eyes and went back to sleep.

*******************************************************************************

*It's her again* Seiya looked down at the beautiful girl with her hair done
up in a meatball like style. She was asleep with her head on her arms, which
acted as a pillow for her.

He looked around at the huge group of teenager girls crowding around him, and
his fellow companions. The girl was the only one who weren't taking any action
in the commotion that was happening around her. 

He chosed a seat next to the girl and sat down, ready for the upcoming
lesson.

All through the lesson, he watched her carefully. Beside him, he heard all
the other girls jabbering on endlessly about their dates, Yet the girl was silent.
Doesn't she have a boyfriend? he asked himself. Yet he was in doubt, surely
such a good looking girl would be chased by guys everywhere. He watched
her now. She had fallen asleep on her desk again.

	"SERENA TSUKINO!

Serena, her name was Serena! Seiya realized. He watched to see if she'd
wake up. She didn't.

A handsome blonde hair boy nudged her warningly. 

	"SERENA! DETE-!" 

The blonde boy pinched her. 

	"OOWWWW!" She howled and fell backwards in her chair. The rest
of the class struggled to control hysterical laughter's, while the blonde
hair boy rushed to help her up.  

Miss Haruna shook her head "When is that girl ever going to learn." 

It was raining when school ended at last. The rest of the class filed
out of the room, like ants who's homes had been destroyed. The three 
lights walked more slowly, they surveyed the passing students as they
streamed pass.

	"I can feel it. The princess is near." Taiki said in a low voice.

Yaten closed his eyes momentarily and gently sniffed the air. "Yes. We 
are nearer to her than ever. I'm positive she is on this planet."

	"Seiya?" Taiki narrowed his eyes at Seiya. "What are you 
thinking?" 

Seiya snapped out of his chance. He'd been thinking about the girl with
the *meatballs* in her golden hair. Serena. That's right. Her name was
Serena. Something beautiful had radiated within her. Something impossible...

He shook his head. And suddenly he felt confused. His mission in coming
to Earth was to find their princess. It wouldn't be right to fall too hard
for a human. It wouldn't be wise. "Nothing."

Taiki and Yaten both looked unassuringly at each other but didn't say 
anymore.

Suddenly a person crashed into Seiya and before he could knew it, he found
himself falling back onto the cold hard floor.

	"Oh! I'm so sorry!" A voice exclaimed.

Seiya forced his eyes open and found himself staring into the same beautiful
eyes that had glanced into his at the airport just a week. And yet he
had not forgotten her. He smiled.

	 "We always seem to be bumping into each other, don't we. Meatball
head." He said, picking himself up. He reached out a hand to help Serena
up but she ignored it and got up herself.

She blinked at his words. *Meatball head* Only Darien was ever allowed 
to call her that. How dare this guy here call her that!

	"My name is Serena, Thank you very much! And i don't remember seeing
you anywhere before in my entire life! " She snapped. Yet something about 
this handsome boy here had triggered off a feeling inside her. 

He reached out his hands. "Nice to meet you, We met when you crashed into us
at the airport." Serena didn't take it. Nonetheless, Seiya was not daunted.
he winked at her. "By the way, Meatball Head suits you better." 

	"Why you!"

Serena took out her books and tried to hit Seiya on the head with it. Seiya
dodged her easily and grabbed her hands.

	"Oww! You're hurting me!" Serena cried. 

Seeing this, Seiya immediately dropped his hands.

	"Serena!"

It was Jack. He had just came walking up the hallway and
had seen Serena talking with one of the new boys in class. Of course,  Serena
hadn't noticed anything. She'd been like a walking zombie, these past few 
days. 

The pain in her chest had subsided a bit, but Amy or Sailor Mercury
still hadn't found the reason for her chest pains yet. 

Serena of course had insisted that she was okay, but Jack would sometimes
see the pain that was aflame in her eyes. 

*FlashBack*

"I really don't know what is wrong." Amy had finally admitted. 

	"It's not normal. Being Sailormoon she should have recovered fully 
by now, but she still hasn't and me and the rest of the scouts are really 
worried about her." She'd looked at Jack through her gentle eyes and said 
"Please take care of her at School. However hard we try, we can't possibly 
protect her every single minute." 

*End of Flashback*

Jack remembered her words very distinctly and he along with all the scouts had
watched Serena carefully. He knew Serena hadn't enjoyed all this attention, but
he had to be done to keep her safe. And all of a sudden, Jack had found himself
with a group of new friends and a secret war in battle.

Now he pulled Serena away from Seiya and the other lights. 

	"Get away from her!" Jack said. He pushed Serena behind him, while 
Serena at the same time was trying to explain that it was all a misunderstanding.
Something in Jack's eyes scared her.

	"Jack-It was noth-" But the protective instinct in Jack had taken over.
And suddenly, he was furious.

	"Just get away from her! Don't think just because you're some idols, you
can go around harassing young girls!" Jack shouted. People were beginning to 
gather.

	"She was the one who started it." Taiki protested.

Seiya didn't say anything. He was amused. Who was this guy? It almost seemed 
as though, this blonde boy here was Serena's protector.

	"Jack!" Serena pleaded. She didn't want to start a fight. She had 
overreacted before when Seiya had called her Meatball head. So she definitely
doesn't want a fight to start because of her. And not with Jack involved, 
particularly.

Finally, Jack calmed down. He could see the complication, this would occur
if a fight broke out at school. Nonetheless, he didn't like these three
lights very much at all. 

He took Serena's hands in his and managed to pulled her out of the crowd.
	
	"Come on, Let's go." 

****************************************************************************
Meanwhile in America.

	"You're missing out the chance of a lifetime, man." Said a guy 
dressed in a white t shirt and jeans. 

Darien was silent. His flat mate was right. He was going to miss the chance
of a lifetime if he went back to Tokyo now and abandon all the opportunities
that were waiting for him here in America.

Yet that sudden pain that had cause him to realize that Serena was in danger
had not left his mind. He could still feel in his heart that soon Serena would
be in grave danger. He had to go back. It'd been a mistake to leave in the 
first place. It was only when he'd gotten to America, did he realize how
unselfish Serena had been, and how selfish he'd been.

For god's sake. She needed him to protect her. If anything happened to her 
while he'd been gone. Darien would never forgive himself. He loved her too
much.

He snapped the buckles on his suitcase shut. "I have to go." He said softly.

	"For a girl." His flat mate snorted. 

Darien shook his head "Not just for any girl. For Serena." Than he left for
the airport. 

***************************************************************************

The rain pelted down on the quite streets of Tokyo. It was early evening but
even than, in the normally busy streets of Japan, the traffic was beginning 
to thin. The moon hung high overheads and the sky was ridden with heavy
rain clouds. Lightning striked and somewhere in the near distance the low rumbling
of thunder growled through the empty streets.

Hugging her coat tighter around her, Serena bit her lips to keep from crying
out loud. *If only Darien was here* Serena thought sadly. She missed him 
like mad already, and it's only been a week or so since he'd gone.

A loud clap of thunder suddenly growled through the entire city and Serena 
screamed. All of a sudden, she felt herself running harder than ever towards
what she thought was the right way home.

	"Oh I'm so sorry!" Serena cried when she bumped into yet another 
pedestrians. The person caught her in his arms and steadied her footing.

	"Third time we ran into each other, Meatball head." A voice said.

Darien? Serena's eyes suddenly lit up, but when she looked up into the eyes
that stared back into hers. They were not the same sea blue. 

It was Seiya. 

	"Oh it's you." Serena said, disappointed.

Seiya raised an eyebrow "Who did you think I was?" 

Serena looked away. "Darien..." she said quietly.


End of Chapter 6------------------------------------------------------------

Darien is coming back!!!! More on Jack and the starlight's. Oh by the way, something
big will happen very soon. in the next chapter or the one after that. It depends
but be sure to be there!!!


There, i finished at last. Nothing much happened in this chapter much. But i had a
writer's block earlier in the week, and would have given up if no one had written
to me. But some very nice readers wrote to me and told me they liked my story and	
i was so touched that i finally finish this chapter!!

See how important emails are to me!!!!

Anyway, I guarantee you that next chapter would be full of what you've all
been waiting for!!
