Chapter 12

	"No, God." Tuxedo Mask gasped as Victorilia's words sank in. No. It couldn't
be true. His mind flashed back simultaneously to the night when the first battery
of monsters had appeared and suddenly his mind was filled with an agonizing
image as Sailormoon had threw herself on top of him in order to shield him
against the fatal blast that had meant only for him. Lord, No. It was all
his fault that Sailormoon, his princess was hurt. All his fault.

His face ashened, Tuxedo Mask stepped forward "What do you want from us, 
Victorilia." He looked at Sailormoon who suddenly seemed very pale and
felt his heart skip a beat.

Victorilia shook her head and laughed evily "You can't give me anything Tuxedo
Mask but the life of the one you love." 

	"Oh no." Ilene reached out to grab hold of her husband's shirt before
she would allow herself to collapse. Not her little girl. Not Serena. She can't
die, not now, not ever. 

	"Monster!" Jupiter screamed, in her anger she let unleash a blast of energy
which charged towards Victorilia in two twin waves of lightning.

Startled by this sudden attack, Victorilia didn't have time to dodge nor fight
back and thus in a flash of lightning, the blast was upon her. She screamed, 
but the blast seemed to have little effect on her.

	"You idiot!" Victorilia screamed, she brushed away the tendril of hair
that had flew out of place when the blast had hit her. "You will pay for
that Jupiter. You will pay!" And all of a sudden, everyone became away of
a eerie green glow that seem to radiate from Victorilia's body.

	"Don't." A voice emerged out of the darkness. "Victorilia. Stop it 
before you start regretting the sin you are about to commit."

Victorilia spun around angrily. "What do you know Elfanmion?" she screamed.

Sailormoon and Tuxedo Mask gasped at the recognition of the name. Elfanmion,
was it true? Or had he came to save them.

	"All you care about is her!" Victorilia cried, she pointed at Sailormoon
in disgust, as though she was a deadly virus.

Elfanmion emerged from the darkness, and all the scouts (excluding Mars) 
and the other Tsukino's gasped at the resemblance between Tuxedo 
Mask and Elfanmion.

	"He's...." Mercury gasped; she pressed the button activating the scanner
and it disappeared from her eyes as she stared in amazement at Elfanmion.

	"He looks just like Tuxedo Mask." Sammy exclaimed.

Ignoring all this, Elfanmion made his way towards where Victorilia was standing,
she was shaking visibly as though Elfanmion's appearance was too great for
her. "Why did you come here? I told you to stay inside!" she shouted at him, and
it became clear to everyone at present that Elfanmion and Victorilia shared
an unspeakable relationship between them.

Elfanmion shook his head "I had to come out." he said simply.

Victorilia was angry, and suddenly the green glow that had occupied her body 
previously returned "For her! Everything you do is for her!" she screamed and 
suddenly an unbearable rage seemed to fill her body from the heart and towards
the outside. She gathered a ball of energy at her fingertips and was about
to launch it towards Sailormoon when Elfanmion stepped infront of her.

	"I came for you Victorilia." he said; putting his big hands over hers,
he pushed the hand she'd had ready to blast Sailormoon down. "To stop the
destruction you will do to Earth." 

Victorilia shook him away "Because this is your planet?" She shook her head
in disgust "Don't forget Elfanmion, you were excluded from the throne of the
royal family long before you were even  born. You don't belong to Earth!" she
spat.

Elfanmion looked hard into her eyes, he was hurt by her words but Serenity
needed his help and he'd do anything to save her. "Let's go Victorilia. 
Serenity will die soon, you confirmed that yourself, there is no need to
waste your energy on her." he said.

For a moment, Victorilia stands still, her eyes empty; than the green glow that
had been surrounding her disappeared and she looked towards Sailormoon.

	"Your family and friends shall live today only because i know you will
die within due time." She laughed "Revenge is sweet. Farewell, serenity, last
princess of the moon kingdom." Than she disappeared, her evil laugh vanishing
with her.

Sailormoon breathed a sigh of relieve. Victorilia's heart wasn't made of stone
after all. Her family will live. That was all that mattered to her now. Yes, in
due time she would die as the alphise crystal destroyed her internal system
wtih each passing day, but her friends and family would live. She didn't dare
think of what will become of Crystal Tokyo and Rini; that was beyond any grief
she could cope with.

	"Who are you?" Venus demanded as soon as Victorilia had disappeared
without trace. Indeed she was amazed at the resemblance between Tuxedo Mask
and this mysterious man.

Elfanmion turned around to face the scouts but did not say anything to answer
their question. Instead he turned to Sailormoon and Tuxedo Mask.

	"Don't mistaken me, i didn't come to save you." Elfanmion began, he looked
hard into Tuxedo Masks eyes, and for an eternal moment, it seemed as though
two mirrors were reflecting each other.

	"Thank you." Tuxedo Mask said, despite Elfanmion words.

The calm expression on Elfanmion's face changed and suddenly he was angry "Are
you mocking me? I said i didn't come to save you. I came to stop Victorilia,
not to help you."

Sailormoon shook her head "No Elfanmion, you mistaken us. We're your friends, 
what happened on the moon kingdom one thousand years ago was a mistake, 
none of us. and i mean none of us, not even Endymion knew about what happened."

Elfanmion shook his head "It's too late Serenity. What happened in the past
happened, the past is inevitable." he looked at Sailormoon solomnly "Your 
life hangs at stake, and thus so does the balance of all individuals in 
this world." 

Before he could say anything else, Tuxedo Mask asked anxiously "Can you help
us?" 

Mercury nodded in agreement "Is there any way of destroying the Alphise crystal
that is contaminating her system?" 

Elfanmion shook his head "To be truthful, I don't know. The Alphise Crystal
is a powerful force that even i cannot comprehend the limit of it's power."
He looked at Sailormoon "Why did you do it? It wasn't meant for you." 

Beside her, Sailormoon felt Tuxedo Mask's rigid form stiffen even more, reaching
out she squeezed his hands. 

Tuxedo Mask looked down at her with fresh tears in his eyes "I'm sorry Serena..."
he whispered.

Sailormoon shook her head "No, don't be. I love you more than my own life, i
don't regret anything." she said softly. She turned back to Elfanmion. "It 
doesn't matter Elfanmion. We all die someday. I have no regrets."

Mars was frustrated at Sailormoon's words. Didn't she realize that it wasn't
just her life that hangs in the balance, the future could change dramatically
if the Sailormoon dies. 

	"Sailormoon! Don't you understand! It is not only your life that hangs
in the balance, the world could be destroyed if you die! What about Rini? what
about Crystal Tokyo? The new millennium is coming, than so will the next
ice age, we need you and the imperium silver crystal to maintain the balance
of this world!" Mars shouted, overcome by her emotions for her dear friend. 
Her words were hard, but she love Serena with all her heart-they all do,
how could they afford to loose such a lovable friend?

Closing her eyes momentarily to stop the tears that threatened to spill from
her eyes and onto her cheeks, Sailormoon turned away simultaneously and drew
in a deep breath to steady her racing heart. She felt a hand on her 
shoulder and turned around to see Jack look back at her. 

	"It's okay, Sis. Everything's going to be okay." he whispered to her.

Nodding bravely, Sailormoon smiled at her brother and said silently *Thank
you,  Jack* She hoped he heard. 

Turning back to Mars, she said "I'm sorry Ma-Raye, i won't give up. I won't
let Rini" She looked at her daughter and smiled "Or anyone else disappear."

Mars smiled. "Good, Meatball head." 

	"Ummm...guys. I think we better get going." Mercury cut in suddenly, she
looked sideways at the three Tsukinos and suddenly wasn't sure if they
could make it back to the real world after all. "But-"

Tuxedo Mask caught her worried glance and nodded in agreement "There is a 
problem. I'm not sure if the sailor teleport is strong enough to take all
of us as well as the Tsukino's back to earth..." his voice trailed off as
he watch Sailormoon's face grow pale with anxiousness.
	
Realizing what a problem they had became, Ilene said "Please, leave us here
and save yourself. You have a duty to protect earth-only-" she looked at
Sammy. God, he was still so young "Only, please try and take Sammy with you."
She said, there were tears in her as she uttered these words. 

She looked at Sailormoon-her daughter. "Sere-Sailormoon. Be careful, look
after yourself, you have a duty. And-" her voice cracked. "I love you, 
sweetheart." 

	"O-oh. Mum." Sailormoon cried, tears filled her eyes and spill onto
her cheeks. "I would never leave you here. No one is going to die today, no one." 
*No one* she herself silently.

Looking at the rest of the scouts who nodded back at her, Sailormoon said. "Get
ready, everyone." She motioned for Jack, Darien, Rini and the rest of her 
family to stand in the middle of the circle that she and the rest of the
scouts had formed. With one last look over her shoulders to Elfanmion who
stood silently behind her, she yelled "Sailor Teleport!"

	"How? Why?" Ilene asked as soon as everyone was settled down to
explain everything to everyone else.

It had been almost night by the time, Sailormoon, Tuxedo Mask, the rest
of the scouts, Rini, Jack and the rest of the Tsukinos materialize on
the lawn of the Tsukino's house. The Sailormoon, Tuxedo Mask and the 
rest of the scouts had immediately detransformed and now all of them
sat, including Jack inside the warmth of the Tsukino kitchen. Rini and
Sammy, too tired from the day's happening had retired upstairs to a good
night's sleep. But now for Serena and the others, It was Judgment time.

Serena smiled sadly and shook her head "I don't even remember when all of
this started. Really this began one thousand years ago when all of us
lived among a civilization across the Solar system called the Silver
Millennium. But really, our lives began here, on earth." 

Kent lean forward in his seat across from Serena and the others "You are
asking me to believe you that you came from an ancient civilization that
was over one thousand years old." 

Lita shrugged. "You've seen us transformed. We're the Sailor Senshi's, 
what else won't you believe? Believe me, Mr Tsukino. the future will 
become even more unbelievable if you can't even accept this fact." 

Kent nodded slowly. He understood the seriousness of the matter, and yet a part
of him still could not see the light. Surely matters couldn't get any worse
than it had already gotten. Sailormoon was his daughter, his ditzy loveable
daughter. They couldn't cope with anymore *surprises* God, this surprise
was shocking enough already. Who'd thought that Serena, his daughter of
all the billions of people in the world was chosen to fulfill her destiny
as Sailormoon.

He's mind flashed back to the many glimpses of Sailormoon he had seen on
TV. Lord, they were so similar, that klutzy form, those meatball heads. How
could they not have noticed.

3 years, it had been 3 years since Sailormoon had first appeared in Tokyo
to battle the series of monster who had attacked the city unmercifully. Had
it really been three years that Serena and her friends had secretly began
fighting their war with unknown, evil forces like Victorilia? He didn't
dare imagine the days, months and years the girls have been forced to
live under these constant pressures as well as the job of keeping their
identities hidden and maintaining their seemingly ordinary life. 

And for once in a long time, Kent Tsukino looked upon his daughter with 
new admiration and loving pride. He's daughter was Sailormoon.

	"I understand." Kent said, he looked at Serena and the others. "It
is an enormous responsibility." he admitted at last.

	"But it's our duty. Earth must be protected against any foreign
threats and in order for Earth to stay safe, we must also protect our princess."
Mina puts in.

Ilene sipped her cup of warm tea gingerly. She was still not over what happened
that day "Your princess?" she asked.

Mina nodded. "Yeah, Serena, last princess of the moon kingdom." 

Ilene choked, almost spilling her tea in the process. "What? Serena is a princess?"

	"Yes, Mrs Tsukino. I see the girls are telling you the truth already." 
A voice said. Serena, Darien, Jack and the other girls all recognized the
voice of Luna. But not the two bewildered Tsukinos who had never heard a cat
speak in their whole lives.

	"She-he-just spoke!" Kent yelled, his eyes were transfixed on Luna's
approaching form.

Luna nodded her head "I'm a *she* thank you, Mr Tsukino. And yes, for your
information, i can talk. I am Serena's guardian." 

Bowing her head in dismay, Ilene sighed. Tonight was going to be along
night. There was so many facts to learn, so many things to get use to. 

Raye laughed "Mrs Tsukino, there's no need for such a big reaction. And yes, 
as Luna has already answered you, Serena is our princess." She added
solemnly "There is nothing we wouldn't do to protect her." 

Ilene felt an overwhelming sadness over wash over her. These girls would do
anything to protect her daughter, even at the cost of their own lives. It made
her think of the many sacrifices these girls would have had to make in order
to lead such a life.

	"Thank you, Girls, you have sacrificed so much..." Her voice trailed off.

Mina smiled sadly as she watched the emotions on Ilene's face "It was necessary."
she said, her voice ending in a sad note as she thought about her own past.

Serena sighed and her mind sobered at the thought of the Silver Millienium. "ONe
thousand years is a long time." She closed her eyes as tears slipped slowly
down her face "But-mother gave me a chance to live again...you see-" she began
whens he noticed the confused look on her parent's face "We're all reincarnations
of the princesses we were back in the Silver Millienium. My mother from the
moon kingdom, Queen Serenity gave us a chance to live-" she looked at 
Darien and smiled bravely "And love by sacrificing herself."

Lita nodded "She was a great woman."

	"And a great ruler." Mina added.

	"None of us would have ever been without her..." Raye said.

	"We live and fight today for her..." Amy finished.

Ilene shook her head sadly. "I can't imagine the pain you've all been through."
she looked at each of the girls respectively "And at your age. all those
fighting..." 

	"Sometimes Sacrifices has to be made..." Serena said sadly. "But at least
we know what we're fighting for and where we're heading. Right guys!" Serena said,
trying to be cheerful "So you see, we're all princesses. Raye, princess of
Mars, Amy, Princess of Mercury, Lita, Princess of Jupiter and Mina is the princess
of Venus. And in the same sense, we are all princesses of our own respective
planets or moon." 

Kent raised an eyebrow "I see." He looked at the each of the four girls "I guess
it makes sense that you are all sailor senshis..." 

	"But Mr Tsukino, you also must understand that Serena is the princess
of the moon, which makes her one of the most powerful beings in the 
solar system. Her safety is vital for the survival of the earth in the 
next one thousand years." Amy added. "Towards the end of this millennium, 
a new era will arise to be ruled by Neo Queen Serenity."

	"Who's Leo Queen Serenity?" Kent asked, obviously not getting the
point Amy was trying to make clear.

	"Neo Queen Serenity. Mr Tsukino." Amy corrected. "Serena in the
30th century." 

	"What??? My daughter is going to rule the world???" Kent yelled, 
he jumped out of his chair as though this was too much to bear.

Lita sighed. "Yes, when SErena is about 21 or so, darkness will fall once
again over the entire world and Serena must use her power in order to
save humanity." she explained.

Kent threw her hands up and groaned out aloud "This is too much." he moaned
and yelped when Luna jumped onto his shoulder.

	"You'll get used to this in time. You should have imagined Serena's 
face when she found out she was Sailormoon. It was..." she snickered "rather..."
she glanced at SErena who was shooting daggers in her direction "Ummm...
better if i don't say anything."

Kent sighed but realized that whatever happens in the future, he must also
accept what was happening at the moment. Serena-Queen of Crystal Tokyo,
it was a big thought.

	"Tell me Serena, your story from the very beginning." Kent said at
last as he looked in her daughter's direction.

Pushing the tendril of hair that had fallen over her eyes, Serena began 
slowly if not reluctantly at the details of her battles. Trying her
hardest to minimize the details to it's smallest capacity, Serena retold
her tales of courage. From the point when Luna had first appeared infront
of her as her moon guardian to the day when all the senshis had died in 
the battle against Queen Beryl. Her story continued to the tale of
Ann and Alan and than towards their encounter with the future and the
dark moon family.

	"You died?" Ilene was amazed if not terribly frightened for her
daughter's sake. 

Serena nodded. "We all did. It's part of the sacrifice and risks we
have to take as the Sailor senshis." she said sadly. Seeing his 
girlfriends sadness, Darien squeezed her hands silently and prayed to 
god that he could ease her pain and yet he knew that he couldn't.

For god sake! He was killing her! She getting hurt was his fault! If she
hadn't jumped infront of him.... Cursing himself as he'd done many times
that day, Darien felt the blood racing against his temple. If only there
was something he could do! But he knew there was nothing he could possibly
do, There were much things he couldn't these days, it was inevitable. He
only hope that Serena would be happy. 

	"I understand that each senshi comes from the first four of the
inner planets." He said at last, and looked at Darien who was sitting 
very comfortably with his ARMS around SErena's waist. errr....That boy,
he'd have to have a word with him one of these days. "Where did he come from?"

Serena looked up, frowning. "You mean Darie-?" She didn't finish her
sentence.

	"He's my daddy!" Rini cried as she came running downstairs in her
pajamas and threw herself into Darien's arms. 

	"Wow Rini. You're going to squash me one day." Darien chuckled as he
sat Rini on his lap and at the same time trying to remove himself from the
dark thoughts he'd been thinking. For now, he must be strong for Serena. 

	"What are you doing downstairs? I thought you were suppose to be
sleepin-" He didn't finish his sentence, because suddenly all eyes were on 
the Ilene and especially Kent who looked as though he was about to faint.

	"Excuse me! What did that little pink demon just say?" he screeched.

	"Honey..." Ilene voice was shaky as she reached for her husbands
arms "I think she said Daddy..."

Kent jumped up "What? Serena! I thought you said you weren't going to do
anything with the boy until you were at least 35!" 

Serena sighed. "Daddy! Would you calm down and listen to me. And i think
you made a bit of an exaggeration there. I never said i wouldn't do 
anything with Darien until i was 35! Infact i'm going to have Rini when
i'm 22." Serena finished and waited anxiously for her dad's reaction.

	"22! 22! That is..." Kent stopped, his voice trailing off as the
meaning of Serena's words sank in. "What?" 

	"Ummm...i think i better explain." Luna puts in as she noticed the
embarrassed look on SErena and especially Darien's face. "Serena and Darien's
history stretched back one thousand years in the time of the Silver 
Millennium and in the same manner, their future also exists one thousand
years from today in Crystal Tokyo. So Rini hasn't actually been born 
yet. She is a time traveler from the 30th century." Luna finished.

	"Time traveling? You're asking me to believe you that we have
a grand daughter who's from the 30th century?" Kent yelled, jumping
out of his chair in the commotion.

Darien sighed. "Believe me Mr Tsukino. It is absolutely possibly. In the
thirtieth century, Rini is known as Small lady or Neo princess Serenity."

	Yeah..." Serena confirmed, she held onto Darien's hand as she
waited again for her dad's reaction. Boy...tonight was going to be a long
night for all of them. She glanced at the clock, 9:30, when was this ever
going to end, they've been explaining and going over facts for close
to two hours already.

To everyone's surprise, Kent just sighed and sat down, the look on his
face was defeated; he shook his head slowly "I guess nothing will ever
be the same again, will they?" 

	"One thousand years.." he looked at Darien and suddenly felt an
overwhelming feeling for the young man who sat with his arms wrapped
around his daughter. "I guess i can't say anything about you two anymore,
can i?" he smiled. "you have my blessing." 

And for once in a long time, Darien grinned. "I'm glad you feel this way
Mr Tsukino."

Kent nodded "Call me Kent, Darien-after all we're a family."

He looked at Rini and suddenly a smile dawned on his tired face "So you're
from the future, are you? Neo princess Serenity....Ummm...you moonies all
have the same names, don't you?" He ruffled her hair and laughed as Rini squirmed
under his touch. "I guess i'm a grandfather now." He smiled and studied
Rini closer "You look like your mother, i don't know why we never realized...
those meatball heads..."

	"Hey!" Serena and Rini both cried in Unison and everybody laughed. 
Finally though, the laughs subsided and it was explanations again.

Kent eyed Jack and realized for the first time that, while he knew that
Serena and the other girls were the Sailor Senshis, and Darien was the
dashing tuxedo mask, he still didn't know who Jack was.

	"And what about you? Another lover?" he asked Serena, referring to
Jack.

Serena laughed "No where near, Daddy. Jack's my brother from the moon kingdom!"
she explaine, grinning at Jack and waiting for her dad's reaction.

A smile touched Jack's lips "That's me. Armistice of the moon kingdom." 

Sighing again, Kent put a hand to his head and groaned "The family just grows
bigger and bigger, doesn't it?" He said to his wife, he studied Jack closly
and realized how similar he and Serena looked, the golden blonde hair, those
beautiful blue eyes although different in their intensity were the same-
they could have easily passed as a family.

Ilene laughed, all this hadn't been as much of a surprise as it had been with
Kent. True, she had been shocked and utterly surprised when she realized
that Serena was Sailormoon, and yet, she knew that in her heart she had 
always known that her daughter was Sailormoon. 

All those countless clues had pointed to their unveiled secret, those
long nights Serena had been out, Sailormoon's clumsiness and the tell
tale meatball heads. They all added up to one point. Serena was Sailormoon.
And yet, like many others she had refused to accept that truth, she had
refused to believe that her daughter was the legendary Sailormoon.

	"So you're not mad at me?" Serena asked eagerly.

Kent shook his head "Of course not sweetheart, infact we're proud of you."
He looked around at all of the girls and Darien and Jack as well "All of you,
For everything you've done for the world." 

Serena smiled and tears brimmed in her eyes "Thank you Daddy." She said
And jumping out of her chair, she embraced Kent in a crushing hug. "Thank
You." She looked at Ilene "Thanks mum, you're the best." 

Ilene smiled warmly. "Well i guess we better have a good nights sleep. Stay
girls, and you too Darien and Jack." Ilene said and smiled at her guests and 
daughter.Let them have a good night's sleep; tomorrow comes too quickly.

The moonlight filtered lumiously through the large window of the Tsukino
living room and onto a dark figure lying asleep on the couch made for his comfort.
His breathing was slow and steady-one of a man deep in his slumber and as
Serena crept over to where her lover lay sleeping, she felt a great sadness
wash over her. One month to live, was that really enough? 

Leaning over the sleeping form of Darien, she sighed and touched his face
gently with her small fingers. Someone had once told her that, even when
a person was unconscious, they could still hear your words, your thoughts
sub consciously. "Oh Darien. You've been so good to me..." Her voice trailed
off as she remembered the tender moments they've shared. "I just want you
to know that, i don't regret anything. If i die, i die for you." Her
voice was soft.

Gently, she caressed Darien's face in her hands "Many nights i've stayed
away thinking about our future. Will there really be a Crystal Tokyo, where
i am the queen...I don't know, sometimes i see my future as such a bleak
place...because to be the princess i knew i would have had to give up

	"But...than you came along and i knew that i would give up everything
to be with you." She finished, than bending down she kissed Darien softly
on the forehead. "I love you Darien, i really do." Than turning, Serena 
tip toed up stairs again; she must get her sleep.

In the darkness, Darien opened his eyes and reached up gently to touch
Serena's tear on his face; her essence lives in her tear. Oh god-if 
there really was one, help us. Darien prayed. He didn't know if
god heard him, but outside in the light of the dying moon, the
sun was dawning...

Eeek!!! ummm....let me see...probably more on the starlights, Seiya and
Serena, some romantic moments between Darien and Serena, more on
her family but apart from that i'm not sure....haven't really thought
about next chapter yet...
