TITLE: Finders Keepers.... AUTHOR: Aliyah E-MAIL: aliyah@connect.ab.ca RATING: PG-13 Part I Prologue: Serenity gently smoothed back the hair of her sleeping daughter, an expression of content on her placid face. Then she felt the familiar sensation of warm arms encircling her slender waist and a man's face nuzzling the back of her head. With a sigh she leaned into his ready embrace. "I love you," he breathed into her hair. "I love you too." She turned to face her husband. "Come on," he said, lifting his lips from hers after a long moment. "Let's give Reeny some rest." Serenity laughed silently, "that was the best excuse you could come up with." He grinned rakishly, Serenity started, he could still make her heart jump, even after over a millennia of marriage. "I always was a little brain-dead when it came to you." She kissed him pertly on the tip of his nose, "I love you. Brain-less though you may be." "Thanks," he said dryly. "Any time, my prince." "King." "You'll always be my prince." "And you'll always be my meatball head." "That's it, you used up your coupon -let's have it!" "But -but -I didn't mean it." "Come on, my brain-dead prince, you can only call me meatball head once a month. Hand over the coupon." "You'll have to catch me first." Kind Endymion, sovereign co-monarch of Crystal Tokyo, the capital of the world, scampered off followed immediately by his co- monarch, Queen Serenity, hair flying like blond ribbons attached by meatball- like tacks to her head. Behind her, dropping with a sullen clang was her crown. Luna sighed, "oh Serena. After over a thousand years you'd think she'd change!" Suddenly there was a stirring wind, lifting Luna and the crown alike into the air. "What in the name of the moon!" Luna screeched from her precarious perch. "Hello Luna," Pluto said, a bit surprised, as the cat dropped into her hand -and Queen Serenity's crown in the other. "After over a thousand years you'd think I'd get used to your entrances." "Where are the king and queen?" "Is it urgent?" Luna asked, alerted by Sailor Pluto's tone. She smiled wryly at the cat in her arms, "I've all the time in the world." "Well in that case," Luna blushed. "You might have to wait a while, I think they're chasing each other in the garden again. "I think we may have to cut their highnesses frolicking a bit short. I may have all the time in the world but they don't." Luna gasped, "I'm not going to interrupt them! Last time I did that, Serena didn't speak to me for a week." "Don't worry, I just did." "Did what?" Sailor Pluto paused to let Luna hear Serenity's shriek and then grinned with satisfaction, "interrupted them." Sailor Venus and Uranus arrived to see Queen Serenity looking very annoyed in a rumpled milkmaid's outfit, a very embarrassed King Endymion, topless save a red bow tie and a grinning Sailor Pluto with a blushing Luna in her hands. Amidst hysterical laughter, the two sailor scouts observed Sailor Pluto handing their queen her much-abused crown. To their further amusement, the rumpled milkmaid polished the crown daintily and solemnly deposited in on her head. "Okay, Sailor Pluto." King Endymion said, putting his arm protectively around his beloved -though Sailor Uranus privately thought it was to cover himself up. "What is it?" "My, is it time for the costume ball already?" Sailor Uranus snickered. "But my Queen Beryl ensemble won't be ready for weeks!" If possible, the already hiccuping Sailor Venus laughed even harder. "That was a little weak, Uranus. I went to all this trouble and you couldn't even come up with a good wise-crack!" Sailor Pluto said, "I would have at least said something about our Chippendale waiter here." "With friends like these..." Serenity's hands got ready to throttle the guardian of time but Endymion stopped her; if she left, who would protect his modesty? "All right, enough. Now that we've all had our laugh-" Endymion paused as Venus swaggered over to tuck a five dollar bill into his pants. His face bright red, he retreated further into his wife's shielding embrace, "What's wrong Pluto?" "Well," Uranus considered. "That shade of red is totally wrong for you. But-" she brightened visibly, "you weren't planning on keeping it on much longer anyway, were you Serena?" Venus pulled her bodily out of the way of Serenity who had grabbed Pluto's staff and had murder on her mind. "Actually," Pluto's expression grew grave. "We have quite a problem." In ten minutes, Crystal Tokyo will cease to exist." "What?!" "How?" "Well, in ten minutes, Raye is going to steal Reeny's time key and the direct result will be Darien and Raye will end up together. Serena and Seiya will be in his homeworld together and every other Sailor Scout will die. Also, Reeny, your other children and Crystal Tokyo will cease to exist." "Our other children?" Serena asked, wonder in her face. Pluto looked at her frankly, "why do you think I came when I did if not to prevent any premature children?" "Well, to humiliate us." Pluto grinned impishly, "Naw, that was just an added bonus." "So, what do we do?" Endymion pointedly ignored her comment. "Serenity and Endymion, I'll take you two back to just before Raye arrives. But don't do anything until she leaves so she thinks she has won. She can only come back once. You two will have to repair the damage after she leaves -you'll have to pretend to be Serena and Darien." "But what about us -can't we do anything?" Sailor Venus demanded. Pluto shook her head, "no, you'll just complicate things more. I don't want to mess around with time any more than is necessary." "So why don't we just stop Raye from going?" Luna asked. "Because this is not a spur of the moment thing for her. This has been planned and if she's thwarted once, she'll just try again. When you go to the past, change things so that she doesn't feel she has to do this." "Why is she doing this. She must have known what would occur." Serenity asked, moving closer to her husband, searching for his protection. "That you'll have to figure out for yourself." "Um," Endymion cleared his throat. "Can we change before we go?" Pluto laughed, "nope, no time for that." She let the king and queen exchange glances of intense discomfort before she added, "just use the disguise pen. You'll need it then anyway." "All right," Endymion said after Serenity had changed their appearances to something a little more formal. "Let's go." "Bye, everybody," Serenity waved sadly. "I hope we see you soon." With that the three disappeared and the remaining three had nothing to do but wait.
