last final white rose onto her grandmothers grave "Goodbye Grandma" She
whispered. [I promise... I promise I'll be strong.. and I'll never cry
again... never]

"Girl! you ready?" Mina called from the red sportrscar across the road
as she turned off the engine. "Coming!" Serena cried as she walked out of
OSAKA jewllery store. She had bee4n working there  for a month now, and
had found out Molly's mother owned the store, so she would see Molly every
now and again.


	"Hey girl! Ready?"
	"Sure am!" Serena smiled weakly.

The two girls were off to Raye's temple. Her GRandpa had passed away a
while ago and she hired a struggling musician named Chad to keep it
running while she was out at work on weekdays.  Seeing as Andrew, and
Darien were *both* going on buisness trips to Singapore, the girls had
the rest of the week off and were gonna play it out at Rei's temple.

Halfway there Serena stared to turn pale "Mina.. can you stop for a
second.. I don't feel so well"

Mina pulled by next to a small row of familt buisnesses And Serena leapt
out of the car and ran towarss the toilet. Mina quickly chased after her.
She was in one of the public toilet cubicles. Mina started thumping on
the door. "Serena! Are you ok? What's wrong? Sere?!" She was about to
start thumping the door again when it suddenly opened and her fist was
mere centimetres from Serena's face. "Serena! Are you ok? Do you need to
see a docotr or something?" Serena began to wash her face. "No it's ok...
I prolyl ate somethign wrong.. You know me, always eating.. I guess I'll
never learn.. Heh heh hehhhh" Her fake laugh died into a whisper.

"C'mon, let's go now... Rei will be waiting for us." They hopped in the
car and Serena watched as the Scenery blurred into patches of green and
brown. "Mina.. I'm gonna take a lil nap now" She mumbled before tossing
to her side and falling asleep

"Serena... Serena.... wake up!!" Mina shook her gently by her shoulder.
"...Darien.. No... Don't..." She mumbled in her sleep as her eyes
slowly started to flutter open. "Huh... Mina?" She looked around... then
she remembered they were at Rei's remple now. There was a long set of
stone steps ahead as they started walking up. Cherry Blossoms floated
and danced gracefully around their faces as they tumbled down to the
ground. It reminded Serena of ... of him.. SHe qucikyl wiped the thought
out of her mind as she continued up the stairs.
They were greeted at the top by the Raven Haired Priestest. "Hey guys!"
She was dressed in a robe and she led the way to the enetertainment Area
of the Temple when she was interupted by Serena "Rei, wheres the toilet?"
"uh.. that way" she pointed and the blonde ran and quickly locked herslef
in. "Serena!" Rai chased her "Serena! ios everything ok? Are you okay?"
she called through the thin rice paper walls. "Do you need a doctor or
anything?" "I'm fine! I'll be okay.. really!" Serena came out, she looked
drained. "'Rena, how bout you go get some sleep... I'll take ya to my room,
it'll be more quieter there."

After Serena fell asleep Rei came back out to meet the others. "Mina.. This
is Chad. Chad this is Mina. And you guys have already been intoduced," Rei
smiled as she took a sip of her tea. The blue haired genius spoke up first
"So what's wrogn with Serena?"
	"I have no idea! She's been acting like this all day, and she refuses
to see the doctor, she thinks it's somethign she ate.. but I've spent the
last day with her and she's  barely touched a crumb." Mian furrowed her brow
	"Well.. She hasnt eaten any of my food lately... She hasn't even
been at the Shields' household, so how am I sposta even cook for her!"
	"I dunno, I think this has somethign to do with Darien, she's been
like this ever since she came back. I'm starting to get worried"
	"Don't worry Mina, We'll *GET* her to see the doctor.. tomorrow
morning." Rei placed her arm around Mina's shoulder.

	"wake up sunshine..." Lita called. Serena stretched and yawned.
Rubbing her eyes, she realised it  was already morning the next day. "Gosh
Have I been sleeping for that long?"
	"Sure have! Now C'mon, you *have* to go to see the doctor.. no buts!"
And the brunette dragged the limp blonde out of the room.

	"So? Dr. Brown? What's wrong with her?" Rei pried impatiently.
	"Congratulations, your 8 weeks pregnant"
	"What?..B.. b... but.. I can't be.. I can't" Serena went as pale as
a ghost. "I can't have the baby.. I can't"

Back in the car, She was still panicking, it had obviously still not
registered in her mind where she stood now. " I can't.." She whispered

	"Guys, I think me and Sere better go hoem tonight" Mina said quietly
as she concentrated on the road. Everyone nodded in agreement.

That night, a cool breeze tossed her hair around as the lonely figure
stood in her balcony she stared at the moon. [If only.. if only I were a
princess.. than Darien would love me, I'd have everything! I'd be
pretty, and rich, and smart, and... oh.. how much I wish he were here]
She put her hand on her stomach. "I'm so sorry" She whispered into the
cool breeze. She had no idea to who, whether it was herself, the baby...
or even Darien.

"A toast! To our sucess!"Darien cried in glee as he poured another cup
of champagne, when somethign flashed in his mind, someone apologising. He
shook it off and took another drink

"YeaH... I'm getign really worried, she's been out there all day!" Mina
sat on the couch as she stared at Serena on the balcony. Lita had just
called to check up on how serena was holding up. "Darien? you really
think we have to  go to that extent? I gues.... uh... fine.. I'll call
andy... Okay.. I better go than.. ok .. Night lita! .. mmhmm... I'll make
sure I call you back tommorrow... yup.. bye" And she clicked down the
phone. She picked it up again and dialled Andrew's mobile number

"C'mon Darien! you're drunk! Let's go to you room! whee!" Saffron cried
as bioth she and darien walked around the room giddily. *RING RING*
"Sorry guys, thats my mobile! I'll catcha tommorrow moring!" and Andrew
walked off.

"andrew! It's Mina! ... NO! THIS ISNT ANY MUMBO JUMBO... yes I love you
too... NO! .. it's impirtant.. argh listen carefully..Serena's pregnant...
with DARIEN's baby... what do tyou mean am i sure? OF COURSE I'M SURe...
WHAT DO YOU MEAN HE WENT UP TO HIS ROOM... WITH SAFFRON???........ DRUNK>?"
Mian hissed into the phone
"Just make sure he knows... tell him to call us back.. Serena's been
standign in the cold since god knows when. ok bye.. Night sweetie" and she
hung up.

A warm blanket wrapped around Serena shoulders "Darien?!" she spun around,
"oh, hey mina." She frounded slightly. "C'mon,it's gettigncold... the
baby's gonna get sick" She took Serena by her shoulders and led her into
theliving room. "I'm not having it" Serena whispered.
"wha? what do you mean your not havign it? its your baby! *your* baby with
*darien*" Mina shook Serena, who just looked away reluctantly

	"I can't... I can't bring a baby into this world where it's only
goign to have *one* parent... and I can't afford to keep up it's living,
and what's gonna happen when *it* finds out his father is actually a
millionaire and we're living in rags. I just can't... Darien doesn't know..
I want it to stay that way.. it'll be easier onme.. He's having such a good
time."SHe looked over at the new weekly gossip magazine... there on the
cover was Shields and Saffron to be wed? before turning away and walking
into her room. Mina looked at the cover, there surely wasDarien and Saffron
havinf a great time at a ball, andhe was kissing *heR*

Early next morning when Darien woke up, there wasa sudden knock on the
door. He quickly put on his robe and answered it. "Andrew... what a suprise"

	"C'mon Darien.. no more fun and games.. get dressed.. I have to
talk to you."
	"Wha what on eart couldbe so important as for you to wake me up *this*
early?" He quickyl went and chnaged into a pair of jeans and a polo


	"2 black coffee's thanks" Andrew ordered as he sat Darien Down.
	"Darien... there's something you have to know.."
	"What? C'mon spit it out!" Darien slapped anmdrew playfully
	"It's about Serena..." Andrew paused. Darien was frowning.
	"I don't want to hear it..."
	"WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS TO YOURSELF? ITS OBVIOUS YOUR STILL IN LOVE
WITH HER"


Darien sighed "Yeah, but she;s not with me."
	"What on eart do youmean?"
	"Saffron told me, on the night of the ball, it turns out she rather
take up a modelling career than stay at the Mansion"
	"So? whats wrogn with that? she;s a pretty girl, it's better than
workign as a servant."
	"But in order to  have obtained that job she slept with Joe Carpenter"
	"what? she slept with Joe Carpenter? the famous designer? as if.
Think aboutit Dare, where thehell has she beenother than here and home?
no where, thats just stupid. I can't belive your trusting Saffron over all
off us"
	"YEAH WELL.. saffron didn't walk out on me, she didn't tear my heart
in two... she didn't take my soul away" he died down to a whisper.
	"Well.. whether you liek it or not... whteher you want to hear it or
not... Serena's pregant..... with your baby" Andrew picked up his jacket
and left Darien sitting there alone. A thousand emotions flashed through
his eyes, he remembered, how she tried calling, how she tried seeing him
he thougth regretfully as he hurried to the hotel and grabbed his suitcase.
HE had to get the first flight back home.

Serena woke up, she looked at the clock, [Urgh! SERENA! what on earth are
you doing?? you're gonna start your shift in 20 minutes and your still
lounging around in your pyjamas, why on earth are you sleeping until 3 in
the afternoon every day?] She walked tiredly out of her room and into the
bathroom. She took a shower, washed her hair, and got changed into a pretty
pink floral summer dress before she did her hair up in her 'meatball' style
and tied little pink ribbvons around her meatballs. Afetrall, liek the
saying goes, if you wear somethign pretty, it'll make you feel pretier and
you'll look prettier. She applied a little make up and walked out. Afterall,
today she was intending to go to the clinic and get the option of an
abortion checked out. She might as well let the last memory of her baby be
a pleasant one.

Walking out, she closed thebathroom door behind her, *CLICK* streamers and
balloons were thrown out "BABY SHOWER!!!" all her friends screamed. Surely
enought, everyone was thwere. Mina, Lita, Rei, ami, Chad, Lizzy, Sandy,Molly
even Andrew. Her face changed to a frown. There was one person missing...
Darien. The door opened suddenly and a familiar figure popped in. "Sorry,
I'm late." He bvlushed. [God, he looks so cute when he blushes.. hang on...
You can't think about him.. he's taken... its over...] Serena put on her
best smile, even though it was impossible now *he* had arrived. "Thanks
guys" She huged mina and Andrew. "thank-you so much" she whispered into
Andrew's ear. He smiled. "I'm sorry guys, I can't stay for long, I've got
an appointment today.. why don't you guys start the party and I'll be back
later." She opened the door. "Sere!I'll drive ya!" Mina called, "and we can
flash around our new lil red convertible!"  SHe smiled.

"I'lldrive her" Darien stepped in. "No.. it's ok... I'll catch a cab"

	"Buti have to talk to you."
	"Fine"

He ledher down the hallway in silence. When they got in the lift, the
questions started flooding out.
	"How long has it been?"
	"8 weeks"
	"Boy or girl?"
	"Girl"
	"I see, How have you been holding up? Are you gettign good pay?"

She just coouldn't hold it anymore. SHe burst out yelling

	"I DON'T CARE IF YOUR THE KING OF THE FREAKIN' WORLD. I DON'T WANT
YOU TO BE A PART OF MY LIFE ANYMORE, I DON'T NEED YOU" she broke down in
sobs. She had broken her promise to her grandmother.

And she stormed out of the lift and down the street hailing the passign cab.
Darien walked up miserably [damn.. stupid stupid stupid me.. I've lost her..
but I haven't lost the baby]

The clinic was sterile, it was cold, and she felt all alone. [better get
used to this girl]

	"Miss tsukino" A warm friendly voice called " I understand you want
an abortion?" Serena nodded regretfully "Well, looking at your records,
it should be okay, but it will still be dangerous, are you still willing?"
Serena nodded. "Okay then, next Sunday, 2pm"

WHen she got back to the apartment, Darien was outside waiting, he was
smoking. Serena had never ever seen him smoke in her life. She didn't
even know he could smoke if she hadn't seen it just then. As soon as he
sawher approaching, he immediately crushed it and grabbed her by the wrist.

	"Get off me Darien! You stink" she squirmed her way out of his grip
	"I'm sorry."
	"Yeah, well, sorry isn't good enough."
	"Serena..I'm soryr, I didn'tmean it, I didn't know.. it's just that..
Safroon.. and ..."
	"ITS ALWAYS SAFFRON.. I HONESTLY COULDNT CARE LESS"
	"whats happening with the baby"
	"Like it matters" she spat out icily
	"of course it matters! it's *ours*!" HE took a step forward, Serena
could feel his breathing. He bent down, his lips were close enough to snag
a kiss. She could feel his breath dancing around her, she could smell the
sweet smell of Cool water mixed in with the stench of ciggarettes. [How
I've missed him] He leant forward and their
lips met, but she turned away. "i... I can't"
	"Why not? Serena! Why not?"
	"Because.. you've found someone else. Soemthing more than just dance
partners happened betyween you.. didn't it?"
He couldn't lie.. it would only make it worse,and so, he nodded regretfully.
	"I'm sorry Darien.. I just can't" He nodded
	"I understand"

Serena walked inside and smiled "Hey guys! I'm back, baby's healthy,
everything's ok, who knows, I might even take Darien back" She glanced at
him. He manged the smallest smile, "So,let's see what you guys got for us"
She unwrapped the first present. IT was a whole set of baby shoes. There
were slippers and eeyore shaped shoes and piglet ones and pooh, and it was
a HUGe range. "A show for every occasion, to match this beautiful lady's
woderful outfits." Andrew joked. "Thankyou andrew."

She unwrapped all thepresents, there were clothes, and toys, a
diaper changer, a stroller, a basket. And the main gift, which all of them
were involved in, a crib. It wasn't ordinary, it was majestic. It was
angelic.

Everyone had gotten her... no them.. a gift... everyone except Darien,
athough he were the father, she wiped it out of her memory, That night,
everyone left, everyone else had somewhere to be, a party, work, whatever,
Rei, Mina, Andrew, Ami and Darien allleft back for the Mansion. And she
would be all alone.

	"Bye guys! have fun! I won't bother coming down stairs!" She waved
them off "Call me!" She cried down the hall. "Bye!"

After everyone was gone she walked back into her apartment. It was so...
family-like.  And she regretted having to take away this baby's life. BUt
there was no other way. She wlked into the balcony, the breeze sent
tinmgles down her spine. She shuddered in the cold. Wearing a sleevless
pink dress wasn't the ideal itemof clothing for the weather she was standing
in.  She wrapped her arms around herself [if only he was here...]

She looked down, they were all waving at her, She waved slightly and looked
around and saw that there was a small box on the table. She
opened it, it was a locket. There was a picture of her and an empty space.
It played a melody, a melody from logn ago. There was also a note. Its
familiar curly writing rang through her mind.

Darien had driven off in his own car when  he left the apartment block.
It was cold, He reached his arm over to get his jacket off the passenger
side. It wasn't there, the felt around.,. [Shit... I must have left it at
Serena's apartment.] He swerved the car around and started driving back to
the direction he had come from. He flciked on the radio, a familiar song
played.

He pulled up in front of her apartment and looked up. The lights were still
on. [weird.. it's pretty late now, what's she doing still up?] He quickly
got out of the car and took the flight of stairs up. When he got there, he
noticed the door hadn't beenclosed properlly, and was lsightly ajar. He
looked around, There surely, Serena had fallen asleep and the tv was still
on. She was holding her stomach and curled into a small ball. She shivered
as Darien approached her. When suddenly she was replaced by warmth all over.
"I feel all warm.... I must be dreaming" She giggled as she pulled the
recently laid covers up. [I wonder if she's forgiven me...]He quickly 
grabbed his
jacket before he hurried out of the building before she woke up. But before
doing so, he left a roughly scribbled note.

Serena,
	I want you to stay at the mansion. Drop by tommorrow at ten, I'll be
waiting.

The next morning Serena woke up. "Huh? how'd this blanket get here? *sigH*
I musta taken it out whilei was too sleepy to remember" She looked at the
clock. [CRAP] It was only 9. She had slept for over 12 hours. She got up
and walked towards the kitchen bench, noticing a scrap piece of paper. SHe
read it. [ten.... should I go? I really miss him.. i should forgive him...
but I can't....] She held the locket tightly. [Sunday morning.. and he's
asking me back.... and I have the apoijtnemnt today.... maybe i should go..]
She quickly packed a couple of dresses and a pair of summer shoes. Grabbing
her keys and her cell phone, she walked out of the door before leaving,
she left a note for lizzy

After an hour sitting in the cab, she quickly handed the cabbie the money
and a tip before she grabbed her tote bag and walked up the driveway. She
took a deep breath [How I've missed here] Walking up to the door she
pressed the door bell, the familiar chime echoed through out the household.
Eagor answered the door. "EAGOR!" the blonde screeched as she flung
herself onto the butler. "I've missed you so much!"
	"I'm sorry Miss... I can't allow you in... Master won't allow of such
thing." He pryedher off. when a masculine voice called from behind "It's
ok Eagor, let her in, I invited her..." Darien stepped forward. He was
dressed up in a suit. It was plainer than usual and the tie was all messed
up as usual. [He's still the same] He was wearing a navy blue sut with
a black shirt and silver tie. "serena... this way" He led her up the stairs
and back into  his mothers room. The room was so cold now. There was no
charm it had when she first arrived "Darien.. I can't... I can't stay in
this room"
	"Nonsense... now sit I want to talk to you.."
	"Darien! let me go! i have to be somewhere soon"
	"WHere? Whats goign on?"
	"Nothing! now let go of me.." He held tightly to her small wrist
	"Serena... There's something I have to say...." His face hardened
and he became emotionless. "you're pregnant... with *our* baby... and it's
obvious there's only one thing we can do" she broke loose of his grip.
"Yes...there is"
