Title: An Angel Plays Cupid Part: 2 Rating: PG Author: Angel Erika E-mail: Erika515@aol.com Author's Note: So, how'd you guys like part one? Hmm...been reading fanfics lately, you know what's good? Antigone's "Walking the Thin Line," Marsh Angel's "Jailbait" (though that story's a bit...Well, you guys have read REAL romance novels, haven't you? Ones that make you think "Well, there goes that sex ed. class next year" This story is one of those ^_^;;), and "Fairy Tales" by Meredith Bronwen Mallory (it's sooooooo adorable!!) ....... *Stretches arms and cracks knuckles* Now on to the story... Disclaimer: I don't own Sailor Moon or Sailormoon or whatever other variation in capitalization there is...If I did, I wouldn't be writing *FAN*fics. Faith rubbed her hands together as a malicious grin spread slowly across her face. "Well then, now that we have him all set to go..." her smile faltered, "He doesn't have anyone to go with, Andrew!" First, he shrugged, then Andrew just sat staring at Faith, who was seated in front of the counter. *How did I get myself into this??* he asked himself for the millionth time within the 24 hours since she "magically" appeared behind him. *This is crazy...No, this is insane! Better yet, ludicrous! Beyond comprehension!-* "Hey, Andrew!" a cheery voice cut into Andrew's...descriptive thoughts. "How about one of those chocolate milkshakes? I'm in a deliriously happy mood today!" "I'm all ears, Serena." Andrew smiled as he pulled the lever that dispensed a frothy, cold, delicious (AN: Sorry, I'm kinda craving a shake right now...) substance to the brim of a tall glass. He plucked a straw out of the dispenser and handed it to Serena. "Hmm...So this is Serena...?" Faith eyed the girl sitting beside her with keen curiosity. Andrew ignored Faith's comment (he's been getting good at that lately after all the strange stares he received while walking to work), and urged her to go on, "Well, go on ahead," "First off, I passed my math final! Gosh, I'm actually passing my math class, that's a miracle all on its own!" "That's great, Serena! I knew you could do it!" Andrew exclaimed encouragingly. "Thanks!" Serena sighed dreamily as she stared, starry-eyed, at Andrew, unconsciously running her finger around the brim of her glass. *This girl obviously likes Andrew...And being the braindead he is, he doesn't even notice!* Faith giggled softly, *I like this girl... she's got some sort of...magnetic pull. It's like-people can't hate her. And it's nearly impossible to see her hating anyone.* "Oh! And I went to audition at the theater yesterday. They're putting up a play...It's pretty interesting. It's based on a legend about a princess, I got her part, who lived on the moon and fell in love with Earth's prince. But they weren't allowed to fall in love, much less see each other, since they were both from different worlds. Nonetheless, they continued to secretly meet, until one of the advisors for the Earth Queen finds out about it. She was really jealous because she took a liking to the prince, heck, she was OBSESSED with him! Then-" "Shh! Serena! I don't want you to ruin the whole play for me! I'm going to go see it, especially since you'll be playing in it!" "Oh, okay, Andrew! It's going to be at the Little Hands Theater (AN: interesting name for a theater isn't it? Oh well! I ran out of ideas! =9)! Anyway, it's kind of a fairy tale mixed with a myth, only it isn't so much like Cinderella that everybody would be bored. We only have a few days to rehearse and stuff since it's premiering the night before the prom, and after that, it would be playing for a week. I don't know HOW we're going to make it though! They still haven't found an actor that's suitable for the prince!" "Gosh, does this girl talk a lot or what?" Faith said with a laugh. "She's cute though, I understand why Darien would like her." Andrew shot Faith a glance to quiet her down, but she just stuck her tongue out at him. "Well, that sounds great! I'm sure you'll finish within a week, as long as everybody works together-" "Andrew, would you try out as the prince? Pretty, pretty please? I'd be so much more comfortable doing this with someone I know!" Serena held a hoping smile on her face. A light bulb went off above Faith's head, and she suddenly jumps out of her seat screaming, "Andrew! Andrew! I've got an idea! Get Darien to try out! Get Darien to try out!" "Uh...Well, I'm not exactly the actor type, Serena. I've never done anything close to drama before!" "Well, that's okay, Andrew! I mean, there's a first for every- thing, right? C'mon, just try!" "Er...No, I don't think so. I know the perfect person to though..." "Oh...Well...That's too bad." Serena was obviously disappointed. Faith could hardly sit still; as she tapped her fingers wildly on the counter, she constantly said, "C'mon, tell her! Darien will do it! I know he will! Tell her!!" Serena seemingly perked up a bit, "So who's that perfect person?" Andrew hesitated for a moment, nervously biting his lip. He glanced at Faith, who was anxiously telling him to blurt it out. "Well..." he began rather warily, "Um...Darien's a pretty good actor..." as soon as the words flew out of his mouth, he was regretting it already. *Darien's gonna kill me...* He could just see himself sitting in a hospital bed in full-cast. Serena just looked at him dumbfoundedly. *Darien? Act? God, can he get MORE perfect??* Once she regained her composure, she asked, "Darien?" and faked an arched eyebrow. "Yeah, he directed the Snow White play a while back at that same theater. He acted as the prince, too. And he works part-time at that television studio a few blocks away, but he doesn't do any acting, he just edits the scripts a little." "He STILL works there?!" Faith yelped in surprise. "Whoa! The last time I was around, all he did was serve those people coffee, and now he's editing SCRIPTS?!" Andrew sighed a bit and rolled his eyes, *Can't she just shut up for a while? I'm getting confused! Any minute now, I'll just blow up and scream at her to stop talking and everybody would-* "Really?" Serena questioned again with her eyebrows knit together. She was obviously thinking about something. "Uh...Yeah...He's been working there for a while, in fact, he started off serving coffee." "Hahaha! Remember when he would come here and complain to us about how he never got to do anything important, Andrew?" Faith laughed out loud, enjoying the fact that she couldn't be heard by anyone else but Andrew (and she knew it annoyed him, too! Hey, she didn't spend all her high school life with this guy for nothing!). Andrew drew in a careful breath, "I remember how he used to come in here and complain about he never got to do anything besides run errands for the people he worked with." he said, answering Faith's question, as he threw another stern glance towards her. This time, it didn't go unnoticed. Serena looked to her left where Andrew's eyes kept darting at, only to find nothing. "Andrew, what are you looking at?" "Huh? Oh...Uh...Nothing...Hehe..." Serena tilted her head a little with a small pout on your lips. "Are you sure? Do you want me to leave you alone?...'Coz I'll leave if you don't want me here..." she said warily. "No, no, I'm fine, Serena." He placed his hand behind his head and laughed with embarrasment. "Okay..." *God, everybody thinks I'm going crazy!* Andrew thought. *And maybe I am! I mean, it would be the only reasonable explanation as to why my deceased friend is sitting in front of me laughing her head off.* "So...Do you want me to talk to Darien about it? I'm almost pretty sure he'd audition. He hasn't had an acting job in ages." he informed her. Serena thought about the question carefully. Could she risk giving her secret crush away just for a chance to act with him? She knew fairly well that romance was the main key in the story, and there would be a few kisses here and there, though stage kisses, but kisses none the less. Well, maybe she'd see a whole new side to him, not just the one that teases her so often. Who knows, maybe they'll even turn out as friends in the end, though what she wanted was more than friendliness. "Well...Sure, I guess. I mean, he fits the role as the prince physically." A flickering image of Darien dressed in the costume flashed in front of her. His build would fill out the armor across his chest and shoulders quite nicely, and he doesn't look half bad in a cape; not wacky like some of the others who tried out. "And he already IS arrogant, so it would be natural the way he would have to order some of the cast around." Faith only let out another round of giggles at the comment. *I definitely like this girl! She and Darien are a perfect match!* "Alright, Serena. I'll be sure to bring it up when he visits later today." "Okay, thanks Andrew, I really appreciate it. It's a shame you don't want to try out, but that's okay. Everybody has their own niche." "Yeah, so are you leaving now?" he asked her. "Uh-huh...I gotta get started on learning that script. I want to deliver a five-star performance!" her eyes twinkled as she imagined herself walking down a runway to receive an Emmy award. Andrew called after her, "I'm sure you will, Serena! Bye!" As soon as she left, Andrew motioned Faith silently to follow him. He led her into the storage room. "Alright, Faith, just WHAT are you planning??" "Me? Planning? Absolutely nothing!" she replied with another one of her mischievous grins. Andrew narrowed his eyes, "Oh please, I KNOW you're up to some- thing and it involves Serena, doesn't it?" Faith just sighed exasperatedly, "Well, duh, Andrew. I was just thinking how good a match Darien and Serena are. And...Well, I don't know, this weird feeling washed over me, like I came across something that was hidden all this time...And that something tells me that I'm doing the right thing!" "What?? I've been around BOTH Serena AND Darien, and I've never felt anything like that before! I mean, sure, the thought of Serena and Darien being together is somewhat tempting to meddle into, but I know it isn't going to work." "Quit being such a pessimist! This is MY mission remember? And I'm going to do as a please, so-" and she stuck her tongue out at him once more. "Please, Andrew? Just be my spokesperson for a little while, and after that, I promise I'll leave you alone and you'll only have your memories to remind me of you...But if you don't help me, I'll haunt you in your dreams for the rest of your life." She arched her eyebrow at him, with a challenging look on her face. With a blank stare, Andrew agreed silently and walked out to find Darien sitting on the stool Serena had occupied just minutes before. "Hey, bud!" "Hey, Andrew. Hey, listen, can you get me a soda, please?" "Sure, no problem." Andrew got his soda and resumed their conversation, "So what's been going on?" "Nothing, really. There hasn't been much work at the studio, and I've done all I can when it comes to studying, so I'm kind of...bored." *Here's the chance to tell him...Okay, Andrew, just sound casual.* "Well...Uh...Um...There's...Uh..." *Oh, jeez, way to go goofball! That sounded casual!* The same thoughts drifted through Faith's mind. "Andrew, you're stuttering." Darien looked at him quizzically one more time. "I swear, you've been acting strange these past couple of days." "No, I'm perfectly fine!" he said once more, "What I was trying to say was...Well, Serena came over earlier today..." A small smile tugged at Darien's lips. Just the sound of her name seemed to brighten his day. This didn't go unnoticed by Faith, though it went right over Andrew's head." "Well...Keep going, Andrew, what about Meatball Head?" *This guy always has a nickname up his sleeve doesn't he? First, he calls me Purple Brains all the way up to high school, and now he's torturing the poor girl with Meatball Head.* Faith rolled her eyes. "Well, she came here talking about a play, something about the moon and the earth..." "The one at the Little Hands Theater. I saw a flyer a couple of days ago about that." "Yeah, that one! And Serena got the part of the princess." Darien's eyes jerked away from his drink to look at Andrew, "Meatball Head? Didn't know she had it in her..." "Aww, come on, Darien! You gotta hand it to her, she's not a failure like how you think her to be." The black-haired man in front of Andrew just shrugged. "Well, anyways, we got to talking about it, and she said that there wasn't anybody playing the part of the prince yet, and they needed somebody desperately." "So you're trying out?" "No! No, no, no!" Andrew shook his head vigorously, "Actually, I thought that YOU would be perfect for the part!" Darien thought about it. Acting with his Meatball Head was a VERY appealing idea to him. He had looked over the script in his free time at the studio, and noticed that the story was like something out of a romantic fairy tale book. He also vaguely remembered a passionate kiss SOMEWHERE in there... "Well, Darien? Would you try out? Both Serena and I agreed that you would be the most suitable actor. And it's your chance to get with Serena, too!" Andrew threw in the last comment to see if maybe he could get in on what Faith had noticed that he hadn't. For a split second, surprise registered on Darien's face, then he put on an amused mask, "Get with Serena, Andrew? And by what means do you mean by that?" "Well, uh, I mean, like...You're always teasing her and stuff! And in kindergarten, that's how all the little boys showed the little girls that they liked them." "Andrew, I'm not a little boy, nor am I in kindergarten." "Could'a fooled me the way you act around her!" Darien glared at Andrew, then laughed it off. "Alright, I'll try out for the play. I was going to, anyway. So I'm going now, bye, Andrew!" ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 8-3-00 End part two Hey!!
