Title: Avoiding Destiny Author: Anjel E-Mail: LiLAnJeL84@hotmail.com Rating: PG Of course you all know that Sailor Moon and it's characters belong to Takeuchi Naoko, Kodansha, and many other large miscellaneous companies. When quotes are surrounded by *'s, it is a telepathic message. When quotes are surrounded by 's, it is a thought. ************************************************************************** Part 2 Chibi-Usa walked slowly to the temple and looked at her watch. The meeting was to start in about 5 minutes so she ran up the steps. All of the senshi were there and were waiting for Mamoru and hopefully Usagi to arrive. "Minako-chan, Minako-chan!" she called. Chibi-Usa didn't bother calling Rei because she knew that Rei would have some harsh comment about Usagi's behavior. "Yes, Chibi-Usa-chan?" Minako asks. "Is Usagi going to come this time?" Rei asks bitterly. "Where's Mamo-chan?" she asks ignoring Rei's question. "He's going to come later," Ami answers. "What's wrong?" asks Makoto. "I have something to show everyone from Usagi." "Usagi too lazy too walk over here to show us herself?" Rei says coldly. "No," Chibi-Usa answers in the same tone. Rei backed off a little seeing the cold look the little girl was giving her. At that moment, a mop of black hair came into view. On Mamoru's face, he was wearing the same cold expression that seemed to be glued onto his face ever since he dumped Usagi. He kneeled down a bit and Chibi-Usa ran up to him and threw her arms around his neck. She saw the cold glint in his eyes disappear for a moment. "Mamo-chan!" "Hey, Chibi-Usa-chan." She then remembered the note that Usagi gave her and her expression grew serious. She took out the note and gave it to Mamoru. "Can you please read this to everyone?" she asked looking up at him with eyes full of sorrow. He took the note from her and read it. To the senshi and Tuxedo Kamen: I know you guys don't care for me anymore but I needed to tell you about this. For once, I am taking responsible actions towards my life. I know you no longer need Sailor Moon for she doesn't exist anymore within the sailor senshi. Don't bother asking my parents. If you read the newspaper, you shall know what I mean. I need time away from this place so full of memories of good times and the bad. I took the crystal with me as nobody else can use it but myself. I'll keep it as safe as possible. I hope you guys can handle whatever that comes your way. Believe in yourself. It's funny that I never follow my own advice. I never believed in myself and you guys never believed in me. I suppose that is why I was never a great leader. Please take care of Chibi-Usa for me. I'm very sorry to put her in any of your care on such a short notice. I can no longer care for her. The senshi of Time, Sailor Pluto has told me that her mother is safe in the future. They are taking precautions and making sure that it is completely safe for her to go home. All you have to do is take care of her for a week or so. I am very sorry to tell you this on such a short notice but things were not at their best between us. I suppose that I shall never hate you for what you've done to my heart, Mamoru I love you too much to have any bad feelings for you. I guess I can thank you for showing me the light that illuminated all of my faults that drove you away. You have moved on in your life, I suppose I should do the same. I love each and every single one of you. I'm sorry to have been such a disgrace to you all especially my guardian, Luna. I wish you all the best in your lives. The best you could do is forget about me for I am a coward for running away from you all. The next time you see me again, hopefully I shall live up to your expectations as a fighter and as your princess. If ever we meet again Love, Usagi Mamoru's grip on the piece of paper went slack. He was left staring blankly at the ground. Using his link with Usagi, he tried to seek her out. He felt her getting farther and farther away from him. He turned sharply and walked away from the shrine. A single tear inconspicuously fell from his eye. The senshi were staring blankly at where the note had fell from Mamoru's grasp. Rei looked at Mamoru's receding back. Suddenly, Rei's legs couldn't hold her weight anymore and she collapsed. "I'm so sorry," she whispered, "It's all my fault. ALL MY FAULT!" Tears began streaming down from her eyes and she buried her face in her hands. The senshi didn't notice Rei's nervous breakdown. They were too involved in their own grief. A black cat with a crescent moon on its forehead left as silently as she came in tears of her own betrayal to her princess. They had sworn to protect her and instead had driven her away. Her own friends had chased her away. *** A couple of thousand miles away, Usagi was riding in a car driven by her uncle absently looking at her new surroundings. Her uncle, Robert, lived in a huge mansion a little while away from San Francisco. He also lived with his brother, Richard, because it was such a large mansion and it was kind of lonely. He was the successful owner of a private corporation with his brother who was his partner. Both families were warm and loving. Her Uncle Robert had an adopted son, whose name was Alexander and was exactly the same age as herself. Because he and his wife, Amalthia, could not have children, they chose adoption. Her Aunt Amalthia was an interior designer whose similarity to her mother was uncanny. Her Uncle Richard had a son and a daughter and was married to a very successful Chinese fashion designer, Sharon Lee. Their names are Justin and Marie. Justin was four years older than herself at the age of 20. Marie was 10. They pulled up to a large mansion with large windows and french doors. It was surrounded by a forest on both sides. The mansion had its own indoor swimming pool and ice skating rink. In back, there was an outdoor swimming pool, tennis court, greenhouse, rose garden, and stables full of horses. Usagi's eyes widened at the sight. She had never seen any house as big as the one in front of her. At the front entrance, two families were waiting for their arrival. "Usagi! Look how beautiful you have grown!" her Aunt Amalthia exclaimed. She had visited her family 3 years ago. Usagi looked over her shoulder to see two guys and a girl with welcome smiles on their faces. "You must be Marie," she says looking at the dark blond little girl with bright blue eyes. She nods and gives me a huge hug. Uncle Richard introduced me to Justin and Alexander. "I finally meet my pen pal," she exclaims. He opens his arms for her and she hugs him. Her eyes widen all of sudden and an image of a blond haired and blue eyed guy in a silver armor with the crest of the sun on it flashes through her mind. In Alex's mind, a girl with silvery blond hair with a crescent moon on her forehead in a white and gold dress flashes through his mind. They shakily move away from each other. A cat that looked exactly like Luna except it had a sun symbol on its head stealthily sneaked away. Her relatives usher them inside the mansion. Her Aunt Sharon showed her to her room. She suddenly inhaled sharply. Her room was huge! It had silver wallpaper with gold crescent moon designs on it. All of the furniture was made of mahogany. Her bed was a queen sized canopy. French doors led to a balcony that over looked the rose garden outside. Her uncles were richer than she thought. "Oh my god!" "You like?" Sharon asks with a smile on her face. "It's beautiful!" "Your Aunt Amalthia designed it herself." For the rest of the day, I went sightseeing and shopping with my aunts. We went into the city and visited all the usual tourist sights. We took pictures at the famous San Francisco Zoological gardens, the Golden Gate Bridge, and Japan Town. They bought me so much clothing when we went to San Francisco's largest shopping center that I felt extremely guilty for being another burden to the family. "Don't worry! As your Aunt Sharon once said, 'One can never have too many clothes.' Loosen up. You're going to be stuck with us for a long time," Aunt Amalthia said jokingly. I smile back at her. As we walked by the numerous shops and salons, I caught sight of myself in the glass. I had lost a lot of weight and my hair its luster. My hair was still in its usual 'odangos'. I decided to have a change. I wanted to have nothing more to do with the Usagi Tsukino that I saw in the glass. "Aunt Sharon, Aunt Amalthia. I want to change my hairstyle." "You have such beautiful long hair. There must be a million hairstyles that you could pick from. Let's go!" Aunt Sharon said enthusiastically. An hour later, I walked out with a smile on my face. My odangos were gone and my hair was in layers that reached a little past shoulder length. I could see my old life floating away and a much better one floating in. *** A week of spending time with my relatives had been the greatest. It was now the night before my first day at school. I was extremely nervous. Since I couldn't go to sleep at the moment, I began reading my diary. It was a tremendous book. It had about two thousand pages in it that would keep me writing for years. After about three years, I had only finished about half of it. When I first began to write, my thoughts were full of dreams and goals. After I was initiated as the heroine, Sailor Moon, the words were happy still but darker than my earlier entries. After the battle with Beryl, most of the writing were sad and depressing with a couple of happy ones. Right after Mamoru had dumped me, it was extremely depressing. If anyone would have read the book, they would have been crying so hard they'd probably choke themselves with their own tears. The most recent entries, the ones that I had written after I started living with my relatives, were much happier than the previous ones. I was getting tired so I turned off the light and went to sleep. I then start to dream. I appear in my Princess Serenity dress and I am sitting by a fountain next to a guy with the same blond hair and blue eyes I had. What he was wearing was similar to what Prince Endymion wore except that the armor was gold and had the crest of the sun on it. "Alexander?," I ask in shock. "Usagi!" he says in the same tone of voice. Suddenly Queen Serenity appears. We both shout out 'Mother'. I looked at him, startled by what he called her. Before either of us speak, Queen Serenity started speaking. "I see that you have met each other already. Children, I am here to give you your birthright. It is time for you both to receive your full powers. A new threat to the Earth is approaching quickly and you shall need your full powers. Before you speak, let me explain. The Golden Solar Gem and the Silver Imperium Crystal are sources of great power. You depend on them wholly which is not going to be enough in order to defeat this new threat. You were much more powerful during the Silver Millennium. I am here to give you back your memories although I would prefer if you didn't for the memories are far too sad." Before we could comment or ask any questions, the crescent moon on Queen Serenity's forehead glowed brightly and connected with the two sigils on our heads. Millions of memories flashed through my mind. My dress lengthened and turned into a long silver gown. My hair turned into a silver color and was even longer than before. I felt the power I once had wrapping itself around me and assimilating itself to my body. I now had powers of both the sun and moon on my side. I then cried out in pain and doubled over as I felt something pushing itself out of my back. In a flurry of feathers, two silver wings unfurled from my back. My body then stood up of its own accord and floated upwards. I lifted both my arms in front of me and a glaive appeared in my outstretched hands. The staff was a silver color and the blade, which was in the shape of a crescent moon, was a gold color. The Silver Imperium Crystal rested at the base of the blade Alexander was going through the same. All of his memories of the Silver Millennium were restored. His armor morphed and it now included the moon. His powers were amplified and he could now use the power of the moon. He heard Usagi cry out in pain and then he felt some pain of his own. He fell onto his knees and with a flurry of feathers, two wings with a light golden tint exploded above him. His body then began to float upwards. He reached out with his right hand and a sword appeared with the Golden Solar Gem on the hilt. A shield materialized in his left hand. "I am so proud of you, my children. Always remember me and I will come to you when you need me. Good bye, my darlings." Queen Serenity then promptly faded out. Usagi and Alexander woke up immediately. Usagi was trying to get rid of the shock in her system. Usagi looked down and saw that her hair was even longer than before. She groaned. How am I suppose to explain this to Aunt Amalthia and Aunt Sharon? she thought. She looked out the window and noticed that it was already light. She looked over to her clock and noticed that she was extremely early and had plenty of time to get ready for her asses. Alexander ran out of his room and barged into Usagi's. "You could've just teleported in here," giggled Usagi. "It's true then. You are Serenity. I have looked all over for you for so long, it's not even funny," he said as he ran over to Usagi and enveloped her into a hug. "I never even knew you existed," she then adds, "Lexie." "Don't start, Ren." "Fine, be like that, Xander. You don't have to be so mean to your little sister!" she says while pouting and crossing her arms feigning anger. "I'm only older than you by 2 minutes!" he says trying to defend himself. "I needed to make you squirm," she says while laughing, "Come on, I need to get dressed. I'll talk to you downstairs." "You could do it the easy way." "Ugh, fine. Since you won't get out of my room," she says exasperatingly. She snaps her fingers and her school uniform materializes onto her. Her long silver hair returned to the same length before she went through her transformation. Alex does the same and walks downstairs for breakfast with her. Usagi's uniform consisted of a navy and green plaid skirt, black shoes and white socks. The shirt was white with the initials RM on it that stood for Rose Millennium. Alex's uniform consisted of navy pants, a dark blue tie, white shirt and a navy blazer with the school initials on the lapel. *** I had to get to the school a half hour earlier than usual because I had just registered. Aunt Amalthia had drove me to school herself. I was fidgeting in my car seat. My grades in my school were not the best in the world. In fact, they were the worse you could possibly get! Because I had wanted to fit in, I asked my uncle to register me in with an English name, Serenity. I had kept my last name. "Don't worry, you'll do fine here." "I'm not sure I'll fit in. How about my English? It's not very good." In fact, other than reading it, I could not speak it very well or write it. "Just relax and try your best. Your uncles, your aunt and I don't expect you to get perfect grades at first. We expect that since this is your first time in the United States. We won't pressure you." "Thanks, Aunt Amalthia." "Amalthia would be just fine for me. We're here," she says as she pulls into the parking lot of a school that had a sort of middle aged look to it. On one side of the school, there was a bunch of ivy on it. At the main entrance of the school there were a couple of people who came early to school. True to the name of the school, on both sides of the school, were a wall of different colored roses. "Okay Amalthia it is then. Bye!" I said as I got out of the car. I walked toward the main entrance and looked around for the main office. I looked around and listened to the sounds of the school. They were talking so much faster and with such fluidity with their English. While trying to look for the office, I bumped into a girl with black hair a little past her shoulders and blue eyes that reminded me of Mamoru's. "Gomen," I say. "Wha?" she answers still disoriented from the fall. I thought that she didn't know Japanese so I repeated myself. "Saw-ry," I said with a heavy Japanese accent. It didn't sound right to me and before I could think twice about it, I said, "I'm terribly sorry for almost knocking you down." She was staring at me as if I was crazy because one minute I had a heavy foreign accent the next I spoke with a bit of an English accent. "Do you happen to be Serenity Tsukino?" she asks. "Yes, I am. I'm looking for the main office. I seem to have gotten lost." "Don't worry. I'm supposed to be your guide for the week. Let's bring you to the office then I'll walk you to our first class. By the way, my name is Terra Chiba." ************************************************************************** Until the next chapter... Thank you all for commenting on my story! I didn't think anybody was going to e-mail me! You gave me enough confidence to write the next chapter to my series. To thank you, I'm giving you two chapters this week! *~Anjel~* LiLAnJeL84@hotmail.com
