After helping her unpack, Jason had taken her on a full-blown tour of the house. She was surprised to find that Jason's room, a kitchen, a bathroom, a parlor room, and a dining room all fit on the first floor alone. The master bedroom, a second guest room and bathroom, a recreation room, and a computer room were located on the second floor. The laundry room was located in the exceptionally nice basement along with all sorts of tools and such. She was positive that the house had an attic as well, but it wasn't one of the destinations on the tour. She wasn't completely sure she wanted to go up there, anyway... It would be dark and full of dust and cobwebs. After all, who cleans the attic? "So, Usagi, what do you think of your new home?" Jason asked. He wanted to make his new 'sister' feel as at home as he could. "It's perfect," Usagi replied. She wasn't just trying to be polite, either. She really thought so. She smiled at Jason. He was being so nice to her. *I don't think my first impression of him was very accurate. He isn't at all like a menacing general. He's like a knight in shinning armor.* "You know, I've been wondering..." Jason started before trailing off. He didn't want to come across as rude because of the question he wanted to ask. "Go on," Usagi prompted. Unless Jason wanted to know about her private life, she wouldn't mind answering any questions. "What does 'Usagi' mean?" Asking that question felt silly to him, but for some reason he really wanted to know. He felt particularly embarrassed when Usagi let out a sudden laugh. "It means 'bunny'!" she replied after getting over her initial shock. She really hadn't expected anyone to ask about her name! "Bunny, huh? It suites you... Mind if I call you that?" Jason asked timidly. He wasn't trying to flirt, but he was aware that it sounded as if he was. Usagi really didn't seem to notice, though. She was to occupied with thinking about his suggestion. After a moment a large smile formed on her face. "From now on, my name is Bunny Moon," she said. A new life, a new name. It all fit together perfectly. "Supper is ready!" Mrs. Lockhart called. *Food! I'm famished!* "Well, Miss Moon, shall we grace my parents with our presence and take a little of that food off their hands?" Jason asked playfully, offering her his arm. "We shall," Bunny, formerly Usagi, agreed. She strung her arm through that of Jason's and they walked into the dining room. Several delicious smells greeted Bunny with the promise of a very satisfactory meal. An hour later, Bunny retired to her room. The jet leg had finally sunk in. She had barely managed to let loose her hair, peel off her cloths and slip into her PJs before she was sound asleep. Memories of the past and hopes for the future embraced her in a series of dreams that left her well rested and happy. Thoughts of Mamoru evaded her. Out of sight, out of mind. The next morning she was awakened by the enticing aroma of French toast and the sound of pots and pans clattering to the floor. *Yum! Breakfast! But who is cooking... Mrs. Lockhart doesn't strike me as the clumsy type...* Bunny jumped out of bed and made her way towards the kitchen. She paid no heed to the fact that she was still in her night clothes and her hair was a tangled mess. Nothing could have prepared her for what she saw when she entered the kitchen. Flour was flying through the air... Several eggs were laying, broken and smeared on the floor. Pots and pans were either set in the sink, covered in burnt food, or on the stove, steaming. Burnt toast was piled on a plate along with what resembled French toast and eggs. A half-full glass pitcher of orange juice was set next to the 'food'. The rest of the orange juice was spilled all over the counter and was dripping onto the tiled floor. In the midst of it all stood Jason. He was looking particularly comical. He was wearing a simple pair of blue jeans and a sports jersey, but that wasn't what made Bunny have to fight off laughter. His hair was sticking up in all directions, and a heavy layer of flour covered him like a blanket. Eggs, syrup, batter, crumbs, orange juice and several unidentifiable foods were splattered all over him. He looked like some sort of creature from the black lagoon. He was the exact image of something that a child might expect to find under his or her bed. "I take it you're not a morning person," Bunny commented. Finally she couldn't restrain herself any longer. A burst of giggles escaped from her lips and she doubled over, exploding with mirth. "Look who's talking," Jason commented, a bit miffed. He was referring to the rats nest that she called hair. "At least I'm not covered in food!" Bunny shot back. "Not yet..." Jason said in return. His eyes were suddenly very mischievous... He looked as if he were up to something. "What is that supposed to mean?" Bunny teased, backing up slightly. Her eyes were still dancing with mirth. Before she had a chance to blink, Jason had smashed an egg in her hair and smeared it around. Ah. Revenge was sweet. Bunny looked at him in shock. She really hadn't expected him to do something as cruel as that... Her eyes hardened. *Two can play at this game...* Jason was to busy gloating about his small victory to notice Bunny's hand reach for the glass pitcher... In an instant he was drenched from head to toe in orange juice. A full out war broke out. Eggs and toast and batter was flying in every direction. Suddenly a thought struck Bunny like a brick. "OhmygodJasonwhataboutyourparents!" Bunny cried. She looked ready to panic. Jason paused in mid-throw. "What!?" "What will your parents think when they find this mess? We're dead meat!" Bunny clarified. Panic began to creep into her eyes. *What would think of me if they find out that I just had a food fight with their son!? I'm sure they won't appreciate the mess! What if they don't want me to stay in their home any longer!?* "Don't worry, Bunny. My mom's shopping. She won't be back for an hour at the very least. We can clean this up by then..." Jade assured the girl. She only looked slightly less upset. Just then they heard the sound of a car pulling into the drive way in the front of the house. "You were saying, Chef Boyardee!" Bunny exclaimed. *Not good! Defiantly not good!* "Uh, oh..." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ END OF PART THREE ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Part four is on the way!
