Pretty amazing how pitiful these people are, he thought to himself. He gazed over the crowd. For some reason, he got a strangely familiar feeling from one of the gang members. His eyes met the eyes of a kid who he could've sworn he'd seen somewhere else. That, that can't be! he thought. Is that...Sailor Moon?! "Gentlemen," Troutman started, "I am sad to say, there is an intruder among us! An outsider!" He pointed at Robert, a.k.a. Big Rich. "He is the one!" Everyone turned to look at Robert. Then, back at Troutman. This time, Troutman simply drained all of the energy of the other gang members. Only Robert was standing. "Now," Troutman started. "Where were we...?" "What do you mean?" Robert asked. "Wh-what did you do to these kids?" "Don't play dumb, Sailor Moon." The only thing he could do then was run. As he ran off, he saw Tom, Vicki, Jessica and Nina, al- ready transformed off to the side. "Forget this," Robert said, dragging his fore and middle fin- gers, parted in a V fashion, across his eyes, making him revert to his normal form, "he sees right through me!" "You certainly blew it this time, eh Robert?" Sailor Mars asked. "Blew what?" Robert asked, in shock. "Good thing I rallied the rest of the Sailors and we followed you down here." The reactions of the others betrayed her statement. "What were you thinking going down here by yourself?" Robert grumbled. "I don't think we have the time to deal with this. MOON CRYSTAL POWER!!!" "Are you through?" Mars asked, impatiently. "Yes. Let's get him!" The five came out of hiding and con- fronted the evil Troutman. Lucky for them, Troutman was hovering above, waiting for them. He was hovering high above the five. "Finally! I was getting bored." "You're gonna be sorry in about two seconds!" Robert shouted. "I stand for truth and justice! I am the defender of the planet Earth! And I am your worst nightmare! I am Sailor Moon..." "I'm Sailor Venus..." "Sailor Mercury..." "Sailor Mars..." "Sailor Jupiter..." "AND WE ARE THE SAILORS!!!" Troutman wasn't surprised. "Yeah whatever." "Come on!" Mars shouted. "What're you waiting for? Aren't you gonna fight us?" "No." He raised an arm, and a giant geyser appeared, taking the form of a merman holding a trident. "He is." The others reacted in surprise. "Triton, attack!" "Get serious!" Not waisting any time, Sailor Mars charged at the aqueous monster, fists flying. But, as she found out at the worst time, her punches and kicks did nothing to him, but a pressurized blast of water sent her packing, and screaming in pain. Jessica utilized her scanner. "It appears as if his water at- tacks react violently with your fire power," she said. Vicki got to her feet. "Let's see him react to this! Mars fire...IGNITE!!!" Her fireball spiraled from her fingertips at Triton, but he simply shot a stream of water out of his palm and extinguished the fire. "You Sailor fools are pathetic!" Troutman shouted from high a- bove the fight. "Easy for you to say," Tom said, "you're not even getting in- volved in this fight!" He drew his Crescent Pistol and fired several shots at Triton. But they did little damage to him. So he fired one more at Troutman for good measure. "How simple can this be?" Nina asked. "Jupiter thunder... CRASH!!!" Naturally, the lightning coarsed through each molecule of Triton as he crashed to the ground in a puddle. "Good job!" Robert said. "He's not done, I can guarantee that much." He took off his bandanna, and it morphed into his Moon Boomer- ang. "Moon boomerang..." The creature struggled to take form. It tried to hold its shape and prevent falling apart. But as it did that... "MAGIC!!!" The boomerang took out Triton in a flash, not lea- ving a drop of water behind. Troutman hovered to just above their level. "You brats are be- coming a real thorn in our sides!" he shouted. "I'll be back again!" He faded out. "Lay-der!" And then, the five were standing there alone. "Great job eve- ryone!" Robert said. But then, he felt a deepshove against his back. He almost fell down. "Hey!" When he turned around, Sailor Mars had been the one who shoved him. She was pretty angry. "What the hell is your problem?" "My problem?" Robert asked. "What do you mean?" "You think you have it easy, don't you? Just sit back and let all of us do the work, and you just do ONE little move and get all the glory?! Sorry, but I won't stand for it!" "Despite what you think, we're all doing our share, Vicki," Tom said. She turned on her heel and faced him. "Oh, so now YOU'RE tak- ing his side?" "C'mon Vicki, knock it off," Jessica said. Again, she faced her. "So now EVERYONE'S against me? I CAN'T WORK IN THESE CONDITIONS!!!" Vicki started to storm off, to the sur- prise of everyone else. Then, all five of them were engulfed in a co- lumn of white light for a moment, then felt themselves being lifted up- wards. "Thiiiiis is gonna cost us," Robert said to himself. TEMPLE OF THE PLANTES HEAVEN, A MOMENT LATER The next thing the Sailors knew, they were standing before their guardian Saints. Contrary to Robert's suspicions, they weren't as mad as he *thought* they would be. "How can you people condone this?!" Vicki shouted at the five. The five of them were still in their Sailor form. "Do you see what we do on the battlefield and what he doesn't?!" "We do watch what goes on off and on the battlefield with you Sailors," Saint Serena said, "and we feel that everyone is doing their part." "But that's not fair! Why are you siding against me?!" Vicki shouted again. "We are on your side," Saint Raye said. "What makes you think we are?" "I can't believe how IGNORANT you people are! Am I the only one out of all you morons that sees this? The four of us outers risk our asses just so ROBERT here can finish him off with one shot?! I don't think so! How could you make someone like him leader, huh?" "So...what's your point?" Saint Serena asked. "I'm contesting leadership of the Sailors," Vicki said. "This squad needs a REAL leader! Sailor Moon shouldn't lead into battle, it should be Sailor Mars!" For a moment, no one said anything. They had all been stunned by the remarks of the new, hot-headed Sailor Mars, Vicki. "Well..." Saint Serena started. "I can honestly say that we've never had to deal with anything like this. But...with Robert's permis- sion, I propose a contest." "What kind of contest?" Robert asked. "Well...a duel. Not to the death, of course. Simply put, the one who wins becomes the new - or remains - leader." Robert thought it over for a while. "Fine. I accept." "Good. Then it's settled." Serena slowly raised her arms to send them off to a special ring, but- "Wait." A pause. Serena had been interrupted by Robert. One last bit of information had to be cleared up. "I'll accept on just one condition...if I win, then..." he stopped to assert himself, "then...Vicki loses the title of Sailor Mars." Worried chatter filled the temple. "Sorry if I offended any- one, but...I just feel really...insulted by what Vicki has said about me. I'm sure everyone else feels the same way." "Fine!" Vicki said. "Then it's settled." Serena resumed her spell. In an instant, everyone was transported to an arena. The saints, and the other three Sailors sat on the sidelines, while Robert and Vicki stood opposite each other on what looked like a wrestling mat. "First one to three points wins," Serena said. "Begin." "What are we supposed to do, fight?" Robert asked. He almost forgot to duck when Vicki threw a punch at him. She threw several more which he easily avoided, and then blocked one of hers, and punched her back. She fell down hard. "Point, Robert!" Serena said. When Vicki got back to her feet, she lunged at Robert again, this time, several punches found their mark. When he didn't fall down again, she kicked him right in the stomach. After doubling over, Robert fell over. "Point, Vicki!" Raye said. "Ready to give up?" Vicki asked as Robert stumbled to his feet. "You know me better than that," Robert retorted. "Maybe this will change your mind then." She put her hands to- gether. "Mars fire...IGNITE!!!" In one motion, as the fireball spi- raled towards him, he juked to the right, took off his bandanna - which morphed into the boomerang - and heaved it at Vicki. It stunned her, and he charged and tackled her. "Point, Robert!" Serena said. "Now Robert needs one more to win." "Don't count me out just yet!" Vicki shouted, rolling Robert off of her. She ran at Robert again, making it seem as if she wanted to grapple with him. But at the last moment, Robert lunged out at her, while Vicki fell to one knee, and drove her fist into his groin. This time, he barely let out a whimper as he dropped to his knees, and fell flat out. "Rather unclean..." Raye said, "but a point, nonetheless. It's all tied up now, two apiece. Next point, wins!" And now was the deciding moment. What would be the future of the Sailors? Would Vicki become their new leader? Would a new Sailor Mars be on the way, or would Sailor Mars never see battle again? All this was riding on one last duel. Robert got to his feet. Vicki got ready to attack again. Rob- ert turned around to find his opponent charging at him. But he was thinking a step ahead of her, and delivered a jump-kick dead solid per- fect. On the impact of the kick, Sailor Mars separated into two forms; one was Vicki in her normal clothes, while the other was a Sailor Mars, made of solid energy. It took the form of the transformation pen of Sailor Mars, and flew to Robert's hand. Vicki disappeared. "You have won, Robert," Saint Serena said, standing up. "Vicki is no longer Sailor Mars. She will awake soon, on her own plane, hav- ing no memory of any of these events." "Thanks, Serena," Robert said. "I really didn't want to do that, but...I felt really insulted." "Well, now that Vicki is out of our way, we will need someone else to become the third Sailor Mars." "Let me be in charge of finding her?" Robert asked. "You know, I think it's only proper." "Fine. Go back to your planet. Find somebody who is able e- nough to become Sailor Mars. Keep that stick with you. It will lead you to the next chosen one. Now go." There was a bright flash of light. And the remaining four Sailors were back on earth. =====TO BE CONTINUED=====
