CHAPTER ONE (PG) Notes: All the usual disclaimers apply, so that means I don?t own Sailor Moon(darn)! Thank you for taking the time to read my little story, I hope you like it ;P ************* The Present "Hey Andrew, who's the blond playing the Sailor V game?" Christafer asked his coworker. "Oh, that's Darien's girlfriend Serena. She comes here just about every day after school, usually before she meet Darien." Andrew replied. "Why do you ask?" Christafer Diamond had just recently moved to Tokyo and had had started working at Crow Video Games arcade only yesterday. "Do you think you could introduce me to her?" he asked Andrew "Sure, I don't see why not." And with that, they both walked over to where Serena was concentrating on her Sailor V game. "Oh, come on, come on!" she grumbled. "No, no, don't do that! Aaaahhhh, just great, game over." She then threw her hands up in defeat. "Uh, Serena," Andrew said, "I'd like you to meet Christafer, he works here now. He's new to Tokyo, just moved here last week." "Hey Andrew!" she smiled at Andrew, then turned to look at Christafer. "Chris, this is Serena." Serena stared at him for a moment, then shook her head and smiled. "Nice to meet you Chris!" she said cheerily. "Yeah..." Chris practically sighed. She was even more beautiful up close, absolutely stunning, he thought. Her long hair was a golden blond, and her eyes, oh those large, deep blue pools a person could get lost in. "Oh shoot, I'm late. So what's new?!" Sere a sighed. "I have to go meet Darien now. It was nice to meet you Chris. Maybe I'll see you here tomorrow or something. See ya!" And with that, she quickly scrambled out the door. "You can count on it, my princess." Chris said under his breath. And what a princess she was. This was one girl he wanted to get to know. And to his surprise, he felt an almost overpowering need to get to know this particular girl better. ********* Over the next couple of weeks Christafer and Serena got to know one another. They quickly became good friends, but Chris didn't tell Serena that he wanted to be more. That in the short time that they had known each other, he had fallen madly, obsessively in love with her. He also knew that she was with Darien, Andrew's friend, but that did nothing more than anger him. **************************** The Present: 3 Weeks Later "You know Serena, perhaps if you weren't always so late and in such a hurry all the time, you could pay more attention to where you are walking, or in your case, running, you might not be such a klutz!" Luna preached at Serena for the hundredth time. "Oh Luna, it's not my fault," Serena whined back, "You know how hard it is fighting the nega scum all the time. And then there's school; I can't help the fact that I need my beauty sleep. You don't want an ugly, wrinkled Moon Princess now do you?" Serena turned from her vanity mirror in her room, to look at Luna who was perched on the corner of Serena's bed. "Some times I wish I could have a vacation, just forget all my responsibilities, and be a normal teen." She grumbled to herself. "Serena, when are yo..." "Serena, you're late," Serena's mother called from the kitchen, "as usual!" Luna heard her add. "Not again!" Serena wailed as she grabbed her books off of the bed, knocking Luna to the floor, and ran out the door. Luna slowly sat up and shook her head. Why did the Moon Princess turn out to be such a crybaby, lazy klutz, Luna thought with a sigh. I just wish she would pay more attention to being a sailor scout. At least her and Darien are still together! ******************************** Darien walked down the sidewalk, taking the same rout he took every day. He had only one thing on his mind, the same thing that was always on his mind, Serena. He knew she would be late for school, she was every day. He was looking forward to walking her to school and telling her what he had planned for the evening. Darien turned the corner and collided with some one, sending them, and all their belongings, flying. "Hey!" he heard a familiar voice whine, "why don't you watch were you are going you big... Oh never mind! Now I'm really going to be late for class. Looking down, Darien saw Serena sprawled out on the ground. He froze as he gazed at her; she is so beautiful, he thought, even lying in a heap on the pavement. "Don't be such a meatball head, Serena, you ran into me!" Darien just couldn't resist using the old nickname he had given to her so long ago. Serena quickly looked up, eyes wide. Then, as she realized who he was, she glared up at him. "I thought I told you not to call me that! Oh, look at all of my stuff, I'm never going to get to class, and my teacher is going to give me another detention." She growled. Darien leaned down and offered to help Serena to her feet, but she pushed his hands away. So, instead, he began to pick up her scattered papers, glancing at them as he piled them together. One in particular read: "Time may take us apart, that's true But I will always be there for you You're in my heart You'll be in my dreams No matter how many miles between I promise you that I won't forget The day we kissed Or the day we met The sky my fall And the stars may too But I will still love you Time may take use apart But I will still love you I promise! (Eric Foster White) Darien looked up at Serena and nearly began to cry. When had she written this? And was it for him, but it had to be! "Where did you get this?" he asked in a shaky voice. "It was from a song I heard when you were under Queen Beryl's influence, but you were never meant to see that." She stated quietly. With that, she began to blush. But it had been her feelings at the time, and it was still true to this day. Very quickly she looked down. Darien moved over to her and pulled her into his embrace. "Serena, you know that I will always, always love you. No matter what happens, I will always find a way to you. Our love is forever, I can't even begin to explain to you how much I truly love you!" he said, then leaned in and kissed her passionately, with all his being. The kiss caused Serena to drop the papers she had picked up, sending them all over the ground once again. She then began to giggle, and Darien ended the kiss. Without saying a word, he bent down to resume picking up her papers. Suddenly a photo caught his eye. Serena had her back to him, so she wasn't aware of Darien's reaction as he picked up the picture. It was of a man, roughly Darien's age, if not a little older. This man stood tall and regal, with striking white hair, and eyes the color of amethysts. For a moment, he would have sworn he was staring at a picture of Prince Diamond of the Nega Moon Nemasis. But it couldn't be, the told himself, Prince Diamond was dead, Serena said so. He slowly looked up at Serena, who was gathering the last of her papers. She had to explain the photo, or he would surely go mad. "Serena, who is this photo of?" he asked as he handed it to her. "Oh, that's Christafer Diamond, I told you about Chris weeks ago, why do you ask?" she said sweetly. "Chris, but I thought Chris was a girl!?" "Of course not Darien, Chris is a good and dear friend of mine. We get along so well, it's almost as if we have met before, but unless he is from the Moon Kingdom, that's not possible." She stated simply. I wonder if she even sees the resemblance, he wondered. Instead he said, "Does this Chris guy remind you of any one, any one at all?" "No, why, should he?" she asked, suddenly looking confused. She doesn't see it, but she wouldn't, the meatball head never did, he thought viciously. He quickly reprimanded himself, he was just being jealous of a photograph no less, and felt silly for it. But something about this Christafer Diamond made him uneasy. But, perhaps he was being ridiculous, over protective of her, as he often was. It was just the fact that he often feared losing her, and he knew he wouldn't be able to deal with it if that ever happened. And this Christafer guy looked so much like Prince Diamond, the only man to ever come close to taking Serena from him. "Serena look, I have a really bad feeling about this guy. Doesn't he look, almost exactly, like Prince Diamond?" Darien began, his voice rising with each word. "But even if you hadn't noticed it, I still don't like this guy. You're not to see this Christafer Diamond person again!" he was now yelling. He hadn't meant to, but he was feeling, and who could explain why, fear. At first Serena just stared at him, a look of utter shock on her face. But her expression quickly turned to a mixture of hurt and anger. How dare he yell at her, and to dictate who her friends could and couldn't be?! How dare he!?! "So now you're going to tell me who I can be friends with, simply because one of them happens to look a little like and ex enemy, one that's dead, mind you!" Serena said with a calm that was not her. She stared at Darien for a moment, then burst into tears and started sobbing. She grabbed the rest of her belongings and took off, running down to sidewalk. He could see that she was running blindly along, and Darien suddenly felt a sense of danger, and that it was near by. It was the same feeling he got when Sailor Moon was in trouble, and that unnerved him. Then, just as he looked up, he saw where the danger was. Totally oblivious to her surroundings, Serena ran unseeing into the street, and strait into the path of an on coming car. ******************* Who does Darien think he is, telling me who my friends can and can't be, Serena thought. Just because one of them happens to slightly resemble Prince Diamond of the Dark Moon Kingdom. It's not like Chris is Diamond or anything, he's dead; he died protecting me from the Doom Phantom. Darien's just jealous! Not bothering to check before hand, Serena ran directly into the street, unaware of the car headed straight for her. God, I know Prince Diamond said he loved me, but he was from the future, and now he's dead. Chris is NOT Prince Diamond! Besides, I enjoy hanging out with Chris, he makes me feel good. "Serena!" she heard Darien franticly yell her name. She quickly looked up and saw a car in front of her, not more that ten feet away, and screamed as the tiers squealed. @->---- So, what do you think? Please feel free to comment, good or bad...
