Based on the universe of Naoko Takeuchi's Sailor Moon. Title: Princesses From the Past Author: Daine Artillo E-mail: daine1@aol.com Rating: G Part 2: The Princess From Jupiter In the palace on the Moon, another one of Queen Serenity's balls were being held. All the princesses from their respective planets attended and were having the time of their life. The athletic princess Jupiter was bored with the small amount of activity. The only reason she was there was because of all the handsome princes in the room. She wanted someone to ask her to dance. Everyone seemed to be dancing, even Princess Mercury who was infamous for studying only, and never going to a ball. Tired of being ignored, the princess left the ballroom and wandered into the royal flower gardens. Jupiter hummed quietly as she walked along the roses, tulips, and carnations. The combined scents filling the air. She sat down and closed her eyes, inhaling deeply. "Are you all right?" Jupiter was startled. She didn't expect anyone to find her here. Her green eyes looked up to see a young man dressed in armor. He wasn't much older than Prince Darien from Earth, so he was about eighteen years old. His suit of armor was similar to Darien's except for the fact that there was no cape, and the markings on the breastplate showed he was a warrior from the Moon. His dark brown hair rustled slightly in the soft wind. Hazel eyes looked at her questioningly. "I'm fine," said Jupiter, dusting her dress off. "I just needed to go someplace of interest." "I see," the young man said. "Were you attending one of Queen Serenity's balls?" "Yes, usually they're lots of fun, but tonight, it wasn't much fun. I'm sorry! What is your name?" "I'm Ken, in the Moon Kingdom's regiment." "I'm Princess Jupiter." "It's an honor," he said, leaning down to kiss her hand. "It's not every day a solder gets to meet a princess, especially one with beauty like yours." Jupiter's lady blushed from the compliment. "Shouldn't you be going back to the ball room now?" "No." The girl's face clouded over. "I wasn't dancing with anyone anyway. I like it better out here, it's not as stuffy and *much* less crowded." She grinned up at him. "And the company's better, too." It was now the solder's turn to blush. They spent a few more minutes in this way until Ken finally said, "It?s been a pleasure talking with you, Jupiter, but my captain will give me sentry duty for a month if he catches me. I'd better go." "If he does catch you, tell him you have Jupiter's leave," she said grinning. "Goodnight." "'Night" With that, Jupiter walked from the gardens to her room in the palace. she thought. She smiled at the thought. Heading up the palace stairs, she sighed as she got ready for bed. @~}~ The next morning, the princess went to look at the solders training. She looked among them to see if she could find Ken in the midst of everyone. When she didn't see him, she turned and walked back to the palace. Jupiter thought unhappily. While walking up the palace steps to go mope, she bumped into a familiar face. "Ken!" "Hi, Princess!" "What are you doing here?" "I was allowed the day off." "Really? That's great! Would you like to do something today? I don't have anything planned." "Sure, what did you have in mind?" "Wanna go ice skating?" "Um...okay" On the frozen pond, many of the Moon's citizens were laughing as they glided on the icy surface. Most of the skaters were very good, but their were some excellent ones that stood out. Princess Serena was an exceptionally good skater, but Jupiter's princess was the best of all. After doing a few jumps, Jupiter skated over to Ken laughing. She had always enjoyed skating, it was her best sport. Ken stayed toward the edge of the rink. "What are you waiting for? Come on out here, Ken!" "Um, Jupiter..." Ken mumbled something the princess couldn't understand. "What?" "I don't know how to skate." "Oh, well that's no problem. Here, let me teach you." The next hour, the couple slowly skated around on the ice. "Hey this is pretty fun!" Ken exclaimed. "I knew you'd like it!" "Jupiter, what out!" *CRASH!!!* As Jupiter tripped over a small dent in the ice, she landed on top of Ken, who in turn also fell down. They looked up simultaneously. Jupiter blushed furiously. Not because she had fallen, but because Ken had a look in his eyes, one she couldn't quite explain. "Sorry, here let me help you up." The solder said getting up. "It's okay, it was my fault." She put one skate carefully on the ice as she got up. Losing her balance, she slipped again, falling into Ken's arms. Blushing a deeper shade of red, she concentrated on maintaining her balance. "I've had enough skating for today," she finally said, "How's about we go to the palace for some hot chocolate?" "That sounds great! Let's go." @~}~ That evening, Princess Jupiter was restless. She decided to burn some energy in the garden. She walked there quickly in a simple pale green dress. She wasn't as surprised when she once again bumped into Ken. "Hi!" she said cheerfully. "Hello, Princess Jupiter. Is there another ball?" "No," she grinned, "I just needed to burn some energy. I may be a princess, but I not one of those delicate, would-faint- if-I-walked-a-few-yards kind of princess." "I could tell that when I first met you." "Ken, I had lots of fun today. I was just so happy, I forgot to thank you." "Sure, anytime." He paused then completely changing the subject said, "I know this isn't my place, but do you have a choice to choose whom you marry?" Jupiter tried to get a glimpse of his face to see what would cause such an unusual question, but he turned his face down. Despite the awkwardness, she answered the question. "I have the main choice, but I need my parents' permission. Why do you ask that?" "I-I just wondered. See you later, Princess." thought Jupiter. She shrugged the thought away as she headed back to the palace. @~}~ Jupiter sat in her room preparing for the ball that night. She had chosen her favorite dress. It was rose-pink, her favorite color. Giving her hair a few brush stokes before putting it up in a ponytail. When she was finally ready, she walked out from her room and walked slowly into the ballroom. She picked up the trail of her dress so it wouldn't drag on the floor. The dress rustled softly. A waltz played softly as she watched all the couples dancing and spinning. It seemed like the night before, an eternity of boredom. The mood was shattered when The Moon queen's advisors, Luna and Artemis ran across the ballroom floor. Jupiter thought. "We're under attack! Prepare for battle!" As soon as she heard this, she ran from the ballroom and held up her Sailor Senshi transformation stick. Few knew who she really was-a princess, but also a warrior. It was her duty to protect the Moon Kingdom, but most importantly, the Moon's royal family. "Jupiter Power!" As soon as she had transformed into her Sailor outfit, she ran toward the front of the palace where the main attack was. It was a gruesome sight. A huge shadow-like monster killed regiment after regiment of the Moon's army. A shout brought her back to the present battle. "Mercury Bubbles Blast!" "Mars Fire Ignite!" "Jupiter Thunder Crash!" "Venus Crescent Beam Smash!" Their combined powers were to no avail. The monster-warrior laughed evilly as it launched power toward them. She heard the agonizing screams of her companions as they fell to the ground in pain. But strangely, she felt none herself. She soon saw why it wasn't. When the monster quit the attack, Sailor Jupiter saw Ken on the ground before her. "Oh, Ken! Are you all right? Ken?! Speak to me please! Please, Ken! Wake up!" The princess, the warrior, the girl, dropped to the ground in tears, one of which fell on the solder's cheek. He opened his eyes slowly and moaned. "Ken!" Jupiter gasped, opening her eyes. "Jupiter? Is that you?" "Yes, it's me. I'm here." "Jupiter, I'm sorry I won't be here to protect you anymore." "Ken don't say that, we'll get a healer. You'll be all right. Please don't leave!" The princess sobbed. "Jupiter, go now! You'll be captured or killed! Please..." "No, Ken. Your risked you life for me, so I'm going to risk mine." "No, Princess, please go." "No!" "You're so stubborn, that's a characteristic I like about you, Jupiter." His breath became slowed, and jagged. "Jupiter, I care about you, a lot. I just wanted you to know that I love you." Using his remaining strength to say those simple words, he took in a shallow breath and laid still. "KEN! NO! Don't go! Please! PLEASE! Come back! Oh, Ken." Jupiter collapsed in tears as she saw the solder die. The Shadow-monster came back. Seeing one of his enemies living, he proceeded to kill her with dark energy. He expected her to flee, but the sobbing girl didn't budge. the creature grinned evilly. He raised his hands and launched the black-colored lightning like power toward her. Jupiter screamed as the black electricity shot through her body, filling her with pain. She collapsed unconscious on top of Ken. @~}~ Queen Serenity looked over the battle field. Many warriors and citizens of the Moon lay dead as the Queen of the Negaverse and her soldiers began to attack the palace. She knew that if the Negaverse had gotten to the palace, her best warriors and friends, the Sailor Senshi, had been destroyed. Her heart broke as she saw her own daughter and her prince killed by the intruders. Taking her heartbreak and pain, she used the power of her Imperium Silver Crystal and prepared to capture the enemy within its power. "Cosmic Moon Power!" Using her remaining strength to send her daughter and companions to earth's future, she sighed and laid limply on the pillar she had used for support. The only souls remaining with her were her advisors. Then they too were taken to the future on earth. The Silver Crystal rose into the air as it was followed by bubbles containing all those who were on the Moon. Glad her people would have another beginning, the aged Queen died alone on her ruined kingdom. @~}~ Jupiter gasped as pain shot through her body. She was bleeding all over and her uniform was cut in many places. Despite the fact the power blast had been powerful, it had only knocked her unconscious. She again saw Ken's still body and started to sob again with fresh tears. A bright flash of light suddenly covered the Moon's surface shining through her tears. She opened her green eyes to see herself and her comrades being enveloped in a pale yellow light and being carried toward earth in bubbles. The leading light split into seven different colors and disappeared amongst the bubbles. The bubbles headed toward the atmosphere of Earth. When they neared its surface, she blacked out. @~}~ Reborn on earth, Jupiter was given the name Lita. With no memory of her past life, she lived a happy life on earth. Her best friend was a boy named Ken who protected and guarded her. Just like he had in their forgotten past long ago. @~}~ Author's Notes: Here's part two of "Princess From the Past." What do you think? Good? Bad? Please tell me. I want other opinions other than my friends (who will say nice things since it's my fanfic story.). The next part will be about Venus or Mars, I don't know which yet because I don't really have a good idea for either. Mail me if you have a great idea, but just don't want to write it. (I'll give you credit for your idea if you give me one, don't worry. ^.^) I'll also cover Princess Serena's story, but it will be later because her story is so well known, I mean come on, give the other princesses a chance. ^.^ (Don't be too mad at me, Serena fans, her story WILL come out, as soon as I get some good inspiration... Anybody have any good ideas?) "A Simple Wish..." is coming along the next part will come out soon. Disclaimer: Again, this was stated in the first line, but I don't own Sailor Moon (does anybody really care? ?^.^?) Sailor Moon was created by Naoko Takeuchi, but the story is mine, please ask if you would like to use it. Until the next story, "I'm outie!" ^.^ -Daine
