And for Kami's sake, EMAIL ME! *V for victory sign* BFF! This chapter's for you, Jen! Luv ya! Well, it's after Christmas, but I got to finish this fic! I hope you all had a really great Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, or whatever holiday you celebrate! Hey, hey, hey, don't give me that look! I've been on vacation! I had no access to my desktop, which is where all my fics ARE! Disclaimer: *cries* WAAAAHHHH! *sniffle* Ms. Takeuchi didn't send me Sailor Moon. *shrug* Oh, well. I wasn't really expecting. So, I don't own Sailor Moon. (Yet...) ~*~*~*~* I gasped, and put a hand to my mouth. My breath caught. "Mamoru..." His back suddenly stiffened. 'Nani?' I thought. He looked around, slipping his mask back on. 'Oh, KUSO!' I thought alarmed. 'He heard me!' I quickly dodged behind a tree. Wringing my hands together, I prayed that he wouldn't find me. SNAP! I jumped out of my skin, spotting his shadow. 'Oh,' I thought relieved. 'He just stepped on a branch.' I could almost feel the wariness in the cold night air. His shadow head looked about, and after what seemed like an hour, he turned and jumped away. I peeked from the tree. (AN: Peek-a-boo!) As I watched Tuxedo Kamen, a.k.a. Chiba Mamoru, disappear off into the night, a feeling of warmth came over me. "Good night," I murmured contentedly. "Mamoru." ~*~*~*~* I walked home, detransforming to Usagi. Feelings of doubt gnawed at me. 'Mamoru can't be Tuxedo Kamen! Kamen is a polite, romantic guy. Mamoru is not exactly polite. Well, maybe he's ~getting~ to be polite, but, no, I wouldn't call him polite quite yet. Kamen wears a tuxedo and throws roses around. Mamoru is a stylish guy who looks like he fell into the Gap. Oh, why is this so difficult?!' 'But maybe,' a new thought came to mind. 'Maybe it wasn't him. Maybe it was my eyes playing tricks on me.' Demo, iie, I saw what I saw. (AN: And O Wise One says, I am what I am. *nods*) I'm POSITIVE. It was Mamoru, I know it. Spiraling feelings rushed to me. Warmth, happiness, relief, shock, confusion, and, heck- I froze. '~Love?~' I shook my head. "Naaaah." I muttered nervously. Feeling very confused, and now grumpy that I was confused, I trudged home, while it started to flurry. "Oh, great!" I grumbled to myself, kicking the brown mush at my feet. "More icky snow and slush that's full of mud." I arrived home finally, peeling away my damp clothes. I went up to my room quietly trying to tiptoe, so my parents wouldn't wake up. I entered my room to find Luna. "Hey, Luna," I said, settling on my oh-so-comfortable bed. "Konnichiwa, Usagi." Luna said. "How was your battle?" "Oh, Kami, Luna, it-" I stopped. Should I tell her? "It...?" Luna asked. "It... It was tiring." I finished weakly. "It, uh, was kind of easy, but, I don't know, I guess the Moon Wand was using up extra energy tonight. I feel pretty exhausted." I lied, not wanting to stay up so I could think of Mamoru. "Oh?" Luna asked. "Well, yes, I guess the Wand could use some extra energy. Maybe the youma was slightly more difficult and powerful than others." "Maybe..." I murmured doubtfully, changing into my PJ's. "Well," Luna yawned. "Good night, Usagi-chan." "Good night, Luna." I said, laying down. Thoughts of Mamoru and Kamne were jumbled in my head, as my eyelids began to sink lower and lower and lower... (AN: And the Energizer Bunny keeps on going and going and going...) After a while, when I was sure that Luna was asleep, and I was nearly asleep also, I unconsciously murmured,"Good night... Mamoru..." ~*~*~*~* "Ohayo, Usagi-chan," I heard Luna chirp (AN: Cat? Bird? Eh...) cheerfully. "Get up." "Ugh..." I moaned. "Doushite?" I mumbled with my eyes shut. The blanket was pulled away from me. I shivered. "It's already half past eleven." Luna told me. "Get up." "Ohhh..." I groaned. "Gimme my blankie." I said in a baby cute voice, searching with my hand for my quilt. "Wake up!" Ikuko-mama's bright voice sang out from somewhere. (Hey, how was I supposed to know? My eyes were closed.) KNOCK! KNOCK! KNOCK! "Get up and at 'em, Usagi-chan!" I grumbled, but very reluctantly got up. 'Geez,' I thought grumpily. 'My Winter Break comes, and I don't even get to sleep in? Huh.' As I dressed in a black shirt with silver lining, a pair of dark brown jeans, and a black sweater, I shot a quick look outside- And stopped. It was snowing, snowing, SNOWING! It must have been a blizzard or something, because the most snow we can get is about a foot. Taking a quick glance to the backyard, I estimated around two feet. "YES!!!" I squealed joyfully, taking a spin. Luna gave me a strange look. "Nani?" "Have you looked outside?" I asked her eagerly. "Iie..." I picked her up and led her to the window. She gave a soft gasp. "Oh, my." The snow was falling down at a fast, even pace, swirling all around the air. The trees were covered, the houses, the sidewalks, everthing! But, best of all, it was ~pure white~. No brown slush like I had come over last night. It was a "Winter Wonderland." Crystalized. That's the word to describe it. No flaws like a perfect diamond. I gave Luna a happy squeeze. "Can you believe it?!" "Iie." she replied, still admiring the beautiful view. "About two and a half feet of snow. Wow." Two and a half feet. *shrug* Ah, I was close. I let Luna plop down onto the bed, while a gave a happy little dance. "I absolutely LOVE snow!" Luna was watching me. "So I see." I gave her a bright grin, then brushed a strand of hair away from my face. As I did, I saw my sleeve. Black. On a beautiful snowy day. I rushed to my closet. "White," I said aloud. "Definitely. White, and... and blue! Blue for ice." "What are you doing?" Luna asked. "I can't wear black and brown on a day like this!" I exclaimed, as if it were obvious. Ah! My white shirt with the tiny little bunny at the end of each sleeve! Perfectamundo! "Mmm," Luna murmured in a agreement. "Oh. Good point." "Yeah." Ooh! My navy colored jeans. Those will work. "Um, Usagi-chan?" "Uh huh?" I asked distractedly. And a blue, white, and silver (AN: My fave colors!) striped sweater. A great finishing touch! "Well, do you recall what A-" "Aha! This is a great combo!" I admired my reflection in my full length mirror. "But, it needs something..." "Usagi, a little sen-" "A little sense would make me see that I need jewelry! That's it!" I declared, digging through my trinket box. Luna let out a small frustrated growl. "Usagi... Don't you remember the meet-" "Ooh, I forgot I had this!" I said softly. In my hand was a delicate silver chain with small transparent blue jewel beads alternating every link of the necklace. "Usagi, there IS a Sail-" "Hmm, maybe a bracelet..." I rummaged through my messy container. "Oh, kawaii!" I clasped on a silver bracelet, studded with clear blue jewels that matched my eyes. Luna sighed. "Tsukino Usagi-" "Here!" I called automatically. Luna did a facevault. "Nani?! I'm not your sensei!" "Oh, heh heh, gomen ne, Luna. It's a habit, I guess." I turned back to my mirror. "Mmm, it's complete!" "Eh..." I cleared my throat. "Mirror, mirror, on the wall, who prettiest girl of all?" I asked. Deepening my voice to a mysterious tone (AN: Hmm, sounds like Shinigami.) I replied back to myself, "Why, you are, of course, Usako." "Oh, gosh!" Luna cried. "Tsk..." I laughed embarrassedly. "Heh heh, uh, well, it's a daily ego boost I give myself." "Demo, USAKO?" "Er..." Blush stained my cheeks. "I realize some girls ~dream~ of being with handsome men, but talking to yourself and giving yourself a cute personal nickname? Usagi," Luna sighed and shook her head. "Gomen ne, for saying this, but you need help." "Grr, I can't help my fantasies!" I argued. "Tsk, tsk, tsk." "Well," I said quietly. "It's always been a little fantasy of mine to have some really nice, handsome guy that I like call me Usako..." Luna gave me a look. "Anyways, now that I have your attention, I hope that you won't forget the sensh-" I sniffed the air. "Is that rice, maguro (AN: tuna), sake (AN: salmon), and ebi (AN: shrimp) I smell?" "Well, it ~is~ lunchtime, demo, you haven't forgotten the-" "Lunch!" I cried, my stomach growling from hunger. "I'm famished!" I ran down the stairs. "Usagi-chan!" I heard Luna call behind me. I ignored her, running straight to the kitchen. "Ooh, yummy!" I said, finding a nicely set table with dishes of maguro, sake, ebi, and a bit of tofu. (AN: I don't like regular tofu, but the spicy tofu my mom eats is OK!) A big bowl of steamed rice was in the center. "Why, Usagi-chan!" Ikuko-mama said from getting the dishes. "You look lovely!" I blushed. Compliments, even from my own mother, made me embarrassed. "Arigatou, Ikuko-mama." I said, taking the bowls from her to set them on the table. "I made your favorite dishes, Usagi-chan! It took awhile, but I know you'll enjoy it." "Arigatou! Mmm!" I said happily. "I'll set the ta-" "MROOOWWWWW!!!" Suddenly, a ball of fur came tumbling down the stairs. Ikuko-mama let out a shriek. "AHHH!" "LUNA!" I scolded disapprovingly. "WHAT do you think you're doing?!" She looked up at me with that I've-got-something-to-tell-you look in her eye. I rolled my eyes and gave an exasperated sigh. "Ikuko-mama, I'm going to take Luna back upstairs, OK?" "Sure." she replied, rinsing our chopsticks. I raced up the steps, carrying a squirming naughty little cat in a death grip. When I got to my room, I threw (Carefully, mind you) onto my bed. "What in the name of Megami (AN: Kami, Megami. *laughs* ...) is wrong with you, scaring the heck out of Ikuko-mama?!" Luna growled. "I've been trying to tell you all morning that there's an important senshi meeting in about-" "FIVE MINUTES!" I cried, remembering what Ami had told me a few days ago, and checking my clock. "WHY is it that you ALWAYS interrupt me?!" "Oh, shoot! I completely forgot! Why didn't you tell me?!" I demanded. "ARGH!" "Oh. Yeah. Sorry." I said sheepishly, my memory kicking in. I swung my coat on. "Well, what's so important about this meeting?" Luna smiled. "Well, I think you'll enjoy this meeting. It's about... Tuxedo Kamen." I choked. "N-nani?!" "That's right!" She gave me a grin. I paled. "Oh... Uh, heh, ahem, great." I put on my gloves. "Well, uh, I'm off. Ja ne, Luna." "Ja ne, Usagi-chan." I rushed out of the door. Halfway downstairs, I stopped, and went back up, meeting Luna halfway. "Jinja." we said in unison. I rushed back downstairs. "Gomen-nasai-Ikuko-mama-I-forgot-that-I-needed-to-meet-my-friends-I'll-be- back-in-time-for-dinner-Ja-ne!" I said in one breath as I raced past her. Behind me I heard a small sigh, and a slightly strained, "Ja ne, Usagi-chan!" I suddenly felt guilty. Ikuko-mama cooked my favorites, just for me, and I run out on her like that. "Gomen nasai, Ikuko-mama." I said under my breath. ~*~*~*~* As I walked outside, it was still snowing, whirling and twirling and dancing in the sky. My spirits soared. I don't know about you, but whenever it snows, I'm a big cheerful jolly person. (AN: Much like Santa?...) I looked all around me. How beautiful! Snow was falling everywhere, and I tilted my head to the sky, watching these tiny ice crystals spinning like a ballet. I opened my mouth to catch some. The icy cold sensation on my tongue felt like ice cream. Vanilla... No, no, vanilla with sprinkles! Or even frozen yogurt. *drool* I could go for some right about- BOOM! "Ow!" I cried as I went sprawling across the ground. I let out a small moan. Oh, my head... I lifted my throbbing head, I saw another lump next to me. I scrambled up. "Oh! Oh my gosh!" I quickly helped the poor victim up. "Oh, my, daijabou?" I heard a weak groan. His head lifted. I found myself face to face with... ~*~*~*~* Cliffhanger? Or not? Suspense... Email me! Please?
