Ah! I've got it! I don't own Sailor Moon. (Still waiting for my Mamo-chan...) *~*~*~*~ "Need some help?" asked an unfamiliar, smooth male tone. I whirled around to find myself staring into deep blue eyes, framed with ebony strands of hair. "No." I said, refusing his help. "But thank you anyway." He raised an eyebrow. "Oh, really? Because from what I've seen, you do." "What, were you watching me?" I asked the stranger. "Well, you could say that." He gave me a smile. "But take it as a compliment." "I don't think I should." I said. He chuckled. "Well, well, looks like someone doesn't take comments very easily." "Uh huh." I said in a bored tone. I turned back to the battle with the locker dial. 30, 2, 24. I sighed inwardly. What was wrong? I was NOT going to be late to class after waking up at 6:30 AM for nothing! I saw a shadow behind me, and looked up. He was still there! "What?" I asked him. "What do you want?" He reached over and turned the dial. 30, 2, 24. Oh, great, now, some guy knows my locker combo! He opened it. My mouth dropped open. He looked at me in a smug way. "You're supposed to lift the switch thing upward, not pull it." "Oh." I mumbled, feeling stupid. I got my bunny binder out of my breifcase. (AN: I heard someone call those things a satchel. *shrugs* Don't ask me.) As I shut the door, I noticed he was still there. "NOW what?" "You're new here, aren't you?" "Yeah." I replied, a little confused at why he was there. "So, what's it to you?" "I'm Chiba Mamoru." (AN: Those of you that emailed me, yeah, you're right, you win, it was Mamoru. Isn't it obvious, though?) "That's nice." I said, checking my watch. "Listen, I don't want to be late on the first day of school, so I'm just-" "Who are you?" he interrupted me. It was my turn to raise an eyebrow. "Why do you want to know?" He moved over to locker 341, and started to turn the dial. "I thought it would be nice to get to know the person who has the locker next to me." He opened the locker. Great. Not only does this guy know my locker combo, he has the locker next to me. This is not the way to start the first day of school. "Fine. I'm Tsukino Usagi." 'I need to get to class, baka!' I thought. "Tsukino Usagi." he repeated. "Pretty unusual name. Rabbit of the moon." "Yeah?" I asked, a little offended. "Well, what about you? Protector of Earth?" "What's wrong with it?" "What's wrong with Tsukino Usagi?" I crossed my arms. "Whatever. You're gonna make me late for class." "What?!" I asked. "Huh! Yeah, right, like I'd waste my time talking to some jerk like you." At that moment, Makoto and Ami approached us. "Usagi?" Ami asked. "Come on, we'll be late." "Hey, Mamoru-san!" Makoto said. "How's soccer been going?" "Ok." He answered. "You?" "Ah, I quit. Just playing when I get the chance." She shrugged. "I... never have much time anymore." Ami and I exchanged looks. We both knew she meant senshi business. Minako had to quit volleyball, too. Luna and Artemis felt guilty for getting in the way of their activities, but they waved it off, saying the senshi was much more important. But everyone knew they were sad on giving up their sports. "Oh, too bad, you had a really great kick." Mamoru said. Makoto shrugged. "Yeah, it was ok." She turned to me. "C'mon, Usagi-chan, I think Ami-chan's gonna be a wreck if she's late." "Hey!" Ami protested. "Mako-chan! I just don't want to be late." She turned to what's-his-name. "Konnichiwa, Mamoru-san. Long time no see, ne?" "Hai." he agreed. "How are your studies?" "Fine, fine, and yours?" He grinned and looked at me from the corner of his eye. "Perfect scores then, perfect scores now, perfect scores later. (AN: I got that from the candy Now and Later. Ya get it? Ya get it?... *sighs, and mumbles, "I should stop doing this..."*) "Well, well, aren't we Mr. Confident?" I said mockingly. "Come on, minna, we should get to class." "Hai, let's go." Ami said, rushing us off. Typical Ami. Eager to start class. Blech. "Ja ne, Mamoru-san!" Makoto and Ami called over their shoulders. "Ja, Makoto, Ami, and Odango Atama." I skidded to a halt. I turned around s-l-o-w-l-y. I faced him and narrowed my eyes. Did he call me what I think he called me? "Did you call me what I think you called me?" "What, Odango Atama?" He smirked. I saw red. "Don't you ever, EVER, call me that again." He smirked again. I'm really starting to hate that look. "Who's gonna stop me?" "I mean it, baka. DON'T call me that." I glared at him fiercely. He looked straight at me. I stared back, raising my head so I could match his gaze. "I'll call you whatever I want, SHORTIE." OK. THAT was the last straw. (AN: Really? But I see a couple of McDonald's straws laying right over there... What? Don't look at me like that! I said I'd stop on the last chapter! This is chapter 2, a whole new chapter! *bursts out singing, "A Whole New World" from Aladin* ... Ok, I'll stop the songs! ) He made me feel stupid about not being able to open a locker, (Hey! I'm NEW!) makes fun of my hair, AND calls me shortie! Now, I know I'm shorter than most people my age, but he does NOT have to point out the obvious to humiliate me! I opened my mouth, ready to fire some remarks back at him, when Ami stepped in-between us. "You two, this is not the time to criticize eachother. PLEASE refrain yourselves. Usagi-chan, COME ON. We're going to be late!" she said. (AN: That was a long time before the bell rings, huh? I'm still trying to figure it out also. *sweatdrop*) I counted to ten in my head. "Ok, Ami-chan, let's get to class." Now, you may be wondering why I was so angry about that Odango remark. Sure, it was insulting (AN: Bad Mamo-chan, BAD! *shakes finger at Mamo-chan* But, we love you anyway, right, minna? ^_^) Well, I've been having this dream ever since I found out I was a sailor senshi... *Dream* Well, in the dream, I'm walking around a garden of some sort, wearing a long white dress. There's another person walking with me, a man, I think. He started to talk to me. "So, Princess, how are you enjoying your studies?" I roll my eyes. "You know how much I despise my studies. They're so boring. I only like Astronomy and Fencing." "Fencing?" he asked, quite surprised. "Not a very princess-like class to take." "In case you forgot, I'm not very princess-like to begin with." He chuckled. "Well, I think you're the perfect princess." he murmured, coming closer to me to touch my cheek softly. I paused a little, then pulled away from his touch, blushing bright red. "Heh, um..." I stammered, my heart pumping. I cleared my throat and gave a little laugh. "Yeah, right. Like I could be a worthy princess." He was just about to say something back when we hear an explosion. We both turn around to see a beautiful, gigantic palace blown up. I spot two figures in the air, above the destructed area, one of them trapped in a sickly reddish bubble. As I squinted my eyes,I recognized who they were. It was Beryl, Queen of the Dark Kingdom. I nearly screamed as I saw who the person in the bubble was. "MOTHER!" *End dream* I would always wake up at that moment. But I did remember the figure of my mother there. She had hair just like mine. Somehow I felt that if I stopped wearing those two buns with hair flowing from them, I'd lose the last thing that my mother and I shared. No, it wasn't Ikuko-mama. Her hair was blue and she wore it down. The person I called mother in the dream had silver hair and buns like mine. I don't know why, but maybe I was adopted. That's what I first thought. But, iie, that idea couldn't be true, for I've seen tapes that my father recorded of me being born. Then I thought maybe it was another lifetime. But I quickly shot that one down. Another lifetime? Yeah, right, and I'm a queen. (AN: You don't know how right you are, Usagi!) So, basically, I still have no idea what the dream means. "Usagi?" "Huh?!" I snapped out of my thought, realizing Ami was waving a hand in my face. "Oh, gomen, Ami-chan, what'd you say?" "I said, are you prepared for school?" I nodded. "Yeah, Ami-chan, especially since I went school supplies shopping with a genius!" Ami blushed. I changed the subject "So how did you guys get to know the baka?" "The baka?" Makoto asked. "You mean Mamoru?" I nodded, annoyance showing on my face. "School soccer team." "I know him from most of my classes. He and I have similar scores most of the time." Ami answered. "Why do you want to know?" Makoto asked in a teasing voice, elbowing me gently in the side. "Ya like him?" "No way!" I almost yelled, disgusted at the thought. "Where'd ya think of THAT?!" "Hey, I may not be the Senshi of Love, but I can recognize blind love when I see it!" (AN: Yeah! You go girl! *high-fives Mako-chan*) I rolled my eyes. "Uh-huh. Yeah. Sure. Whatever." We stopped in front of a door with a sign that said, "Mr. Yamasamu". We walked in, and sat down where our names were. 'How babyish.' I thought. 'Nametags on our desks? Aren't we old enough to choose our own seats?' Luckily, Ami sat in front of me and Makoto sat diagonally from Ami in front of her, so we all were pretty close to eachother. As I talked with Ami and Makoto, the bell rang (AN: Finally! The bell's part comes in!) and everyone quieted down. A tall man with a blue suit went to the front of the class. "Hello, everyone, I'm Mr. Yamasamu, but everyone of you will call me Yamasamu-sensei. I have some papers here for you to fill out." I groaned quietly. "They're just papers for your classmates to get to know you better. Please pass them down the row to the person behind you." Ami passed me a stack, and I looked over it quickly. 'What's your favorite thing to do?' 'Who is your favorite singer?' 'What's your favorite school subject?' Hey, this ought to be easy. Even the last one! My favorite school subject is lunch. *nods* What? It's in school, isn't it? So technically, it's a school subject. I turned around in my seat to pass it to the person behind me. I looked up, and saw a raised eyebrow, mocking blue eyes, and a smirking mouth. "Hey, Usagi. I guess I not only have the pleasure of getting a locker next to you, but seeing you in my first class everyday right in front of me." I was staring at Chiba Mamoru. ~*~*~*~* BWAHAHAHA!
