Hi minna!!!! This is the last part of my story. I know it's sad. 
But there's a lot of good stuff in this one. I can't wait to finish 
it and start a new one. It's going to be called "The Fire From 
Within." Based on the title you can tell that it's going to be 
about Rei. I try to add a little variety to my writing. I want to 
have at least one fanfic about someone else other than Serena and 
Darien.(Although they are my favorite couple.). Well enough talking 
and on with the story..

Sailor Moon does not belong to me...blah ,blah ,blah 



~ Darien ~

	'She loves me.' I keep saying that in my head over and over 
again. I could not register the fact in my mind as I stared straight 
at the doors. But my heart was beating in excitement. She had said it 
so sincere and with so much emotion. But she had sounded heart broken 
too. The rest of their conversation was a blur me. Never have I ever 
felt this wonderful in all my years. Not even going to my birthday 
parties. 

	Suddenly I felt my knees buckle beneath my weight, as I felt 
deliriously happy. There was only one thing on my mind and in my 
heart right at the moment. I love her. I love her so much, it's 
killing me. I have to tell her how I feel. Confess my love to her. 
I want her and need her more than anything else in this world. 

	I closed my eyes briefly storing in this incredible 
feeling inside my heart. Never have I ever fallen so deeply in 
love with anyone before. Serena was my match made in heaven. She 
brought something out of me that would have been obscured by my 
selfishness and pitiful past. A part of me I didn't even know 
existed until she came to my life. She was like a light that led 
me through to safety in a dark tunnel full of hatred, and coldness.

	"Hey!" Someone yelled as Darien was suddenly pulled out 
of his thoughts. "Who let you in?" Rei shut the balcony doors 
with Serena right behind her. "Serena please I....there's 
something I need to say." Serena looked away, tears running 
down her flushed cheeks. "Just go way Darien. I can't talk to 
you right now. Please just leave me alone." Serena sobbed. 
"I understand everything...you don't have to explain anything. 
Just go." 

	Darien stepped closer to her. "Serena, I.." stopping to 
look at her crestfallen face, Darien nodded his head. Even telling 
her the truth wouldn't do any good. "You better go Darien." Rei 
said softly feeling sorry for the miserable couple. "I have to see 
you again." Darien said longingly to Serena. It was the same thing 
he had said after their first kiss. "I don't believe you." Serena 
whispered and ran into the bathroom slamming the door.

	"You really hurt her." Rei said quietly loud enough for 
Darien to hear. "All I can say is that you better do something 
quick to repair the damage. Always be honest. You don't have to 
lie about anything because if you do, things will all turn out the 
worst way possible." Darien nodded as a tear rolled down his cheek. 
"Would you tell her good night for me?" he asked feeling completely 
hopeless. "Of course." Rei answered and walked him to the door. 
"Please, just go. Serena needs some time alone. Pushing her would 
get you nowhere." Darien hung his head low and walked slowly into 
the hallway. Closing the door behind him, he sat down at the temple 
steps. "Please God, help me."


The next morning......


	"Hi Darien. What's up?" Andrew asked as Darien walked in 
and sat down at the counter. "nothing much..." Darien sighed and 
put his head on in his folded arms. "Well, something must have 
happened that's got you all depressed." Andrew joked, but became 
serious as he didn't get a reply from Darien. "Hey buddy, what's 
wrong?" he asked worriedly. "does it have to do with Serena." 
Darien's head popped up at the mention of her name. 'uh huh...got 
him.' Andrew thought as he poured him a cup of coffee. 

	Andrew noticed how tired Darien was when he finally raised 
his head to look at him. "Did something happen?" Darien nodded and 
sipped his coffee quietly. "I've lost her." was all Darien said. 
"What do you mean?" Andrew asked a little confused. "Melissa made 
me an offer on a big sum of money. But, under one condition, if I 
marry her." Darien shook his head. "Everything I've worked so hard 
for after the death of my parents would finally pay off. I could 
finally open up my business world wide and fulfill my father's 
dream." Andrew nodded. "But, you didn't because of Serena?" looking 
up at Andrew Darien smile. "she didn't make the offer until after 
the fight at the ball." "ohh" sighing again Darien told Andrew 
everything, from taking care of Serena's fever up until last 
night at Rei's temple.

	Andrew listened intently and quietly. Finally Darien 
finished. "and here I am, sitting here the loneliest man alive." 
Andrew shook his head. "I don't know how things will turn out 
at the end. But if I know Serena, she wouldn't just give up on 
someone she loves, especially you Darien. Her heart is broken 
right now and she just needs time to heal." Darien nodded 
considering everything that Andrew had said. "I really love her. 
And this feeling that's in my heart is so pure and light. I don't
know what to make of it. Never in my entire life had I ever felt 
this way about anyone." Andrew smiled. "That's the same way I feel 
about Mina. Ever since the break up with Rita, I'd never thought 
I could fall for anyone else. But when she came into my life, it 
just hit me. I treasure her as much as you treasure Serena." 
Darien smiled. It felt good talking to someone who would understand. 

	"I just don't want to lose her. She's so precious to me." 
Andrew patted Darien on the shoulder. "Just be patient. If you 
both love each other this much, then nothing can keep you apart." 
Darien finished his drink. "Thank you Andrew." "That's what 
friends are for, huh..?" "ya." Looking at his watch Darien frowned. 
"I gotta meeting in an hour. I better go get ready. Talk to you 
later." "Alright, take care." Darien waved and left the caf鮊
	The whole day at work had been a headache for Darien. He 
has been thinking about Serena during the entire meeting that last 
3 hours. He didn't hear a single word they said. At about lunch 
time, everyone just threw their arms in the air saying how it was 
impossible to get Darien back down to earth from where he had been 
on. Darien was too down to even go out for lunch. Finally his 
secretary came in worriedly. "Mr. Chiba, I'm going out for a little 
while for my son's dentist appointment. Would you like me to bring 
you something to eat on the way back. You've been moping about all 
day." Darien turned his attention to Mrs. Yamiko. "Go ahead Susan, 
I'm not hungry. Shaking her head in wonder, she closed the door 
and left. 

Meanwhile at the Tsukino residence.....


	"So what do you want to do today?" Mina asked she flipped 
through a magazine. The girls were spending the day at Serena's
house and they had just enjoyed a delicious meal prepared by no 
other than the famous chef to be--- Lita Kino. "Maybe we can 
catch a movie. I heard that the new Sailor V movie is out." Rei 
suggested. "That sounds fun. Let's do that." Mina said and 
stretched. "If we hurry we can make the 3:30 show." Amy looked up 
from the newspaper. "Serena? You coming?" Lita asked. "Alright, 
why not." 

	The girls put on their coats and just as they went out 
the door, it started to rain. Light at first, but by the time 
they left the movie theatre, it was pouring cats and dogs. "Isn't 
it kind of odd to have a thunderstorm in the middle of winter?" 
Amy asked more to herself. "Ya tell me about it. Maybe monsoon 
season is coming early this year." Mina added then turned to 
Serena. "Serena, when are your parents coming home tonight?" Serena 
looked blank for a second. "Well, they said around 10, but from 
the look of the weather, they would probably have to stay the night 
at Aunt Anika's." Rei looked up to the sky. It was starting to get 
dark around 6. "Are you going to be alright staying home by 
yourself. I know you hate thunderstorms." Serena smiled. "Thanks 
Rei, but I think I can cope just for one night." Rei looked at 
her watch. "I think we all better head home." "Um hum." the rest 
of the girls agreed and decided to split a taxi.

	Since Lita and Amy live closer together, they would 
share a cab. Rei, Serena, and Mina shared another one. After 
saying good bye, they got into their cabs and went home. Serena
 was the last one to get dropped off. After paying the driver 
her share of the cost, she quickly ran to her porch shielding 
herself from the downpour. 

	Unlocking the door Serena stepped into an empty house, 
all of a sudden feeling scared and alone. Turning on all the 
lights in the house, Serena took a hot bath to warm her freezing 
body up. After making herself a sandwich and taking some left over 
potato salad from the refrigerator, she sat down in front of the 
roaring fire place and ate silently. 

	All of a sudden the thunder crashed loudly outside of the 
window, making Serena jump in fear. "Why do I have to be alone 
during a storm. I hate storms." she whimpered. Turning on the 
TV to calm her down, she sat cuddled up in a blanket and 
watched cartoons.

	"Mr. Chiba?" Mrs. Yamiko asked as she stepped into 
Darien's office. "Yes?" he raised his head from some file he 
was reading. "It's pouring outside. Maybe you should pack up 
and go home before it gets worse. It is pass 7 already and I'm 
getting ready to leave." Putting down the file and sighing 
loudly, he got up and straightened out his suit. "Thank you Susan. 
I'll see you tomorrow then." "Good night Mr. Chiba. I hope you'll 
be well tomorrow." Darien nodded "Thank you. Good night." Mrs. 
Yamiko shook her head again, trying to think why her boss had 
been so gloomy all day. 

	Picking up his cell phone, Darien dialed his chauffeur's 
number. "Hello Sean? Yes, could you pick me up at work in 
fifteen minutes? What...oh no that's alright. I'll just get a 
cab. Thanks. No...it's not a problem at all. Good night." 
Darien put the phone back into his briefcase. Sean had been 
unable to drive the limo because he was all the way up down, 
and the limo is in the shop getting new tires. Getting a phone 
book, Darien looked up cab services. After a couple of rings 
later, someone finally answered. "Yes, when is your next 
available cab?" Darien groaned. "an hour? Are you positive 
there's not one sooner? Well, never mind then. Thanks anyway. 
Bye." Obviously the cabs had been driving everywhere due to the 
weather. Who would want to walk or take the bus on a pouring 
night like this?

	Darien thought he would wait a little bit. Maybe the 
rain would lighten up or stop. But unfortunately it didn't. 
Finding some ham and crackers from his mini bar, Darien ate a 
nice leisurely dinner with a glass of white wine. Looking at his
watch, the hands pointed to 7:35. The rain hasn't stopped or 
lightened. Sick of waiting and sitting around, Darien decided 
to walk home. It wasn't really that far, it would probably 
take him 30 minutes. Putting on his black wool coat, he locked 
his office door and got in the elevator. With a briefcase in 
one hand and an umbrella in the other, Darien walked in to the 
downpour. The rain beat against his large umbrella like drums 
as he took his time walking. He wasn't in a hurry or anything. 
A little rain wouldn't make him any more miserable than he 
already was. 

	Suddenly a gust of wind blew by and flipped Darien's 
umbrella upwards. "Oh great." he sighed and tried to fix it but 
ended up poking himself in the stomach with the handle. Giving 
up on the useless thing, he tossed it into the wind. Now he was 
all wet. His hair messed up and his black wool coat no longer 
protecting him from the cold. "Why me, why me?" he asked. Trudging 
up the street, he came to an familiar neighborhood. At first he 
didn't recognize it, but after just standing in the rain for a 
couple of minutes, a certain blonde's name popped into his head. 
"Serena." he said softly and longingly. 

	At last he came up to her house. He wondered briefly why 
all the lights were on. Chuckling a little, he assumed that 
Serena hated thunderstorms. He turned to leave. When he had 
passed her house and two more later down the street, he had this 
sudden urge to see her. No matter how hard he tried to reason 
with himself that she needed time, he couldn't bare to wait 
another second. Turning back slowly still contemplating what to 
say to her, he walked to her house. Reaching her front door, he 
looked down at himself.  'Look at me.' he thought. 'What would 
she say?' Taking in a couple of deep breaths, he ringed the 
doorbell. 'Please don't her turn me away. Please God.'

	The doorbell suddenly ringed as Serena yelped in surprise. 
Looking at the clock, it was close to 8:30. 'Who could that be? 
Oh no, it must be a burglar!' Frightened half to death, Serena 
walked slowly to get Sammy's baseball bat. Holding it over one 
shoulder tightly, Serena slowly opened the door. 

	"Darien?!!" Serena dropped the bat on the floor with a 
thud. He was drenched from head to toe. His hair was all messy 
and tousled, bangs hanging over his eyes. In his hand was a 
dripping briefcase. Covering her mouth in shock, Serena stared 
at him like he was a little lost boy. And in a way, he was. 
"Oh my God." she finally said. After a whole day trying to forget 
him, everything hit her back full force with just one look at his 
wet, but still handsome face.  She had missed him so much. Not 
able to contain herself any longer, she walked up to him, and 
suddenly pressed her petite body against his tightly. Wrapping 
both arms around his broad shoulders, Serena embraced him. Her 
cloths were wet, but it didn't matter anymore. He was there. 
He was there with her.

	Wrapping strong wet arms around Serena, Darien picked her 
up slightly where his face was buried in the hollow of her neck. 
Serena cried softly against Darien's chest feeling overwhelmed 
and relieved at the some moment. Darien couldn't help but cry 
as he held her sweet body in his arms. He had never thought he 
would ever hold her again. The loving couple stood in each 
other's arms like that for quite some time. Each needing comfort 
from the other. Feeling Darien shiver slightly from being out 
in the rain, Serena let go of him and led him inside.

	"Serena...I.." Darien started to say. "Shhhh." Serena 
whispered and put her finger over his lips. "You're wet. And you 
could catch a cold." Darien took her hand and gently kissed each 
one of her fingers. "I don't care. I had to see you." Darien 
looked into her teary eyes. Serena let herself get lost in his 
mysterious dark blue ones. They were soft and sincere. Leading 
him to the bathroom, she told him to take a warm bath. Darien 
complied without a word. Taking his wet clothes and putting them 
in the dryer, Serena went to look for a robe. 

	Darien came out of the bathroom wearing only a towel 
around his waist. The sight of him like that made a blush appear
 on Serena's face. He had a nicely toned chest. A hard stomach 
and strong thighs. Handing him a fluffy white robe, she turned 
around to let him change. Suddenly she felt his strong arms wrap 
around her waist and gently tickled her stomach. Leaning back 
against his chest, she closed her eyes enjoying the feeling. 
Then realization dawned her. She was still upset. He had lied 
to her. Turning around to face him, she looked up at him sadly. 

	"Why did you lie to me Darien?" she asked quietly. 
"I...I didn't want to hurt you. I had thought that maybe if 
I didn't get too close to you, I could just walk away. But I 
was wrong. Each minute with you was so precious to me. I can't 
live without you. I need you." Darien said sadly. "You are engaged 
Darien. Do you know wh..." "Lies, Serena, they're all lies. 
Melissa was playing out the whole conversation you heard in the 
kitchen just to drive you away." Serena gasped. "But she...and 
you..." "Bernard had let her in without telling me. I didn't know 
she was even there." Serena walked away thinking to herself.
"It's over between us." Darien took Serena's hand. "It has been 
over long time ago." Intertwining his fingers with her, he 
brought the back of her hand to his lips. "I know now that 
anything anyone has or all the money in the world cannot ever 
replace you in my heart." Darien paused.

	"I...I love you Serena." Darien whispered into her 
ear. Serena could not believe what she was hearing as she 
buried her face in her hands and sobbed. She backed away from 
him shaking her head. "Darien....." she whimpered. Suddenly 
Serena launched herself into Darien's arms. "I....I love you. 
I love you so much." She cried into his robe.  Time stopped 
as Darien stood there with Serena in his arms. After all he 
did that hurt her, she still forgave him. She still loves him. 
Darien laughed as his arms came around her waist and turned 
them around and around until they were both dizzy. 

	Setting Serena down gently, Darien touched her face. 
"My heart beats only for you." he said as his hand came to her 
back and pushed her closer to him. "Darien...." Serena murmured 
before he captured her lips with a passionate kiss. Crushing his 
lips to her bruised ones, he lifted her up slightly and bent her 
over because of his height. Serena wrapped her arms around his 
shoulders and ran her finger through his wet hair. Never have they 
ever felt anything like it before for anyone. Darien held Serena 
tightly as they just rocked back and forth enjoying the serene 
moment together. And they stayed in each other's arms until well 
after midnight. Cuddling together with a soft blanket in front of
 the fire place, they fell asleep with a night of blissful dreams.

Oh my goodness. It's finished!!!!!!!! I can't believe it!! It took 
me so long and now it's finally done. My first fanfic ever.!! 
Oh Wow. It's a great feeling. I can't wait to write more. 
Ahhh!!! I'm just so excited. Never have I ever written something 
so long and completing it all the way. Well, I can never say
