Hi! If you?ve been keeping up with our story, you may have noticed that part two never showed up on the new stories list. It was supposed to, but it just went into the regular stories archive for some reason. So now you get to read parts two and three all at once! (It?s okay to be excited. Really.) Anyway, on with the show? Destiny Thwarted Part Three By Charma & Jana (pekkle3779@aol.com) Anya opened her eyes cautiously and looked around. All the Scouts were groggily standing up and rubbing their eyes. "What happened, you guys? I didn?t really feel anything." She looked at each Scout expectantly. "Um, well, you don?t look any different, Anya," Sailor Jupiter said carefully, not knowing what else to say. Everyone looked from Anya to Jupiter and back to Anya again. "So it didn?t work?" Sailor Moon asked, her voice edged with sincere disappointment. Anya looked like she was about to cry, and Sailor Venus burst out with, "It had to work! Serena, you said the spell would turn anyone into a Sailor Scout!" Her blue eyes filled with tears. "Hey, before anyone gets all bent out of shape and says things they don?t mean, let?s think about this," Sailor Callisto said reasonably. "I mean, how did our powers come to us? We didn?t just get them all of a sudden; we got them over a period of time. Maybe that?s what happens with the spell, too." "I don?t think so, you guys," Sailor Mercury said excitedly. She had her visor out and was doing a scan on Anya. Her eyes sparkled, and a smile tugged at the corner of her mouth. "What?s up?" Sailor Europa asked, not quite understanding everything that had just gone on. All she knew was that her head hurt, she was tired, and that she still hadn?t gotten her cookies. "You?ll see," was all that Mercury would say to clarify what she said. She continued doing the scans, and her expression demanded silence for her concentration. Finally, after what seemed like forever, Mercury looked up, but only addressed Anya. "Anya, twist your hand around your back like this," Mercury said demonstrating. Her hand disappeared and when it came back, it was holding her transformation pen. Anya didn?t ask why, but just did it. The first time, nothing happened. Her hand hadn?t disappeared like Mercury?s had or anything. She tried again, and still the same results. After about five minutes of her trying over and over again, she still hadn?t given up, but Sailor Jupiter sighed, and said, "C?mon, Mercury, it just didn?t work. Give it-," and she was cut off by Anya?s yelp. "Omigod! I did it! My hand?s in that pocket thingy that you all have!! What am I looking for, though? It feels a little empty." Her face flushed and she squinted her eyes in determination. "Just search around until you can find an object that feels like a pen, and then twist your hand out again," Mercury instructed. Anya nodded, and kept searching. At last, her eyes lit up, and her hand came out holding a pen that looked like everyone else?s, but instead of being a solid color, had a floral print design to it. And at the top, instead of a planet?s symbol at the top, there was a flower. "Wow," she breathed. Everyone?s eyes were fastened on the pen, and no one said a word, except Venus. "Anya, what are you waiting for? The world to end? Transform already!!" Everyone agreed, and she thrust the pen into the air, and paused. "What am I supposed to say?" she asked. "Well, I?m not sure, but I think that you probably know," Mars put in, her voice encouraging. "Just look inside yourself." Everyone was taken aback at this corny, so obviously emotional speech coming from the usually all-business Mars. She blushed, and said, defensively, "That?s what we had to do!" "Okay," Anya said, doubtfully. She closed her eyes, and waited for a few minutes. She was in a deep concentration when all of a sudden, her eyes popped open, and she yelled, "Flower Power!" In a flash of fuschia, a new Sailor Scout appeared. Her outfit was the same as the normal Scout uniform, but the skirt was a fuschia- colored floral print, and her high-heeled sandals were the same print. Her bows were fuschia and she wore the normal white gloves. After giving herself a once-over, Anya?s light blue eyes began to sparkle with emotion and she shook her head in disbelief, fuschia spiraled hair flying. "No way! I can?t believe this! I?m actually a Sailor Scout! Oh my god! I love you guys! You?re the greatest! Oh my god!" "Hey Sailor Flower, get a hold of yourself," Jupiter said with a wide smile. "Sailor Flower," Venus breathed. "I?m so happy! Everything is perfect!" She rushed to hug her step-sister. "Now we can be together 24/7!" "This is amazing! It really worked! Mercury, you are amazing!" Sailor Moon praised, beside herself with what the Sailor Scouts just accomplished. "Oh, it wasn?t all me. I just read the instructions. We all worked together to make this really happen," Mercury corrected, blushing from the compliment. "Wow. We are so cool," Europa enthused. "We really made Anya a Sailor Scout!" "What can she do? Like, what are her powers?" Callisto asked. Everyone looked at Anya, who shrugged. "I don?t know." "Well, we didn?t know what our powers were until we actually used them," Mars reminded the girls. "Anya will probably have to go through the same thing." Sailor Flower touched the tiara on her forehead with awe. Then she started screaming. "I did it! We did it! We can be Sailor Scouts together! I love flowers! I love you!" Everyone began to screech along with the new Sailor Flower in a celebration of happiness and success. In the midst of the noise and confusion, no one noticed the door swing open cautiously. Three cats came in and, to their disbelief, they beheld Sailor Flower in the center of the commotion. "What the?" Artemis began. "Who?s she?" Luna exclaimed. "My goodness! It?s Anya!" Hunter shouted. The room fell silent at this exclamation. Slowly, seven pairs of eyes swung from Sailor Flower to the cats back to Sailor Flower. With a sinking feeling in her stomach, Sailor Moon murmured, "Uh- oh." Nervously, Sailor Flower stepped forward. "I can explain," she began, voice quavering. "All eight of you can explain?to Queen Serenity," Artemis said, finality in his tone. "To the throne room, please. Now," Luna commanded. Following Luna and Artemis, the girls shuffled out of the room, heads bowed in fear of what was to come. Sailor Flower was one of the last ones out, followed by Hunter. "Cheer up. Queen Serenity won?t hand out a death sentence or anything," he told her consolingly. "After this and my sneaking onto the Moon, she?d be liable to do anything to me. I?d probably deserve it, too," she answered despondently. In the throne room? Queen Serenity sat in her throne as she waited for the girls to knock on the door. When Luna, Artemis, and Hunter had told her what they had found, she had been angry and upset that the girls had done this behind her back. And Serena! She had been specifically told that the magic book was off limits, and that she wasn?t allowed to go into her mother?s chambers without permission. But now Queen Serenity realized that her daughter hadn?t done it to be disobedient, but to be a good friend. The girls obviously felt that Anya was being left out since the training took up their time, and they wanted to do something about it. If she rebuked them for that then what would that teach them? To overlook kindness and consideration for the sake of some silly rules? Hearing the girls approach the throne room, Serenity stood up and prepared to give the girls a good talking-to. A few hours later? "I can?t believe this! We can?t leave the palace grounds for how long??" Rei exclaimed, angrily throwing her pillow across the bedroom. "Oh, it?s only a couple of weeks. Besides, making Anya a Sailor Scout is definitely worth it!" Mina said, throwing her step-sister a thousand-watt smile. Thoughtfully smoothing her sheets, Ami added, "Hey, at least we don?t have to revert the spell. Queen Serenity would?ve been perfectly justified in making us turn Anya back to normal, but she didn?t do it." "I kinda thought that Queen Serenity wasn?t as mad as I thought she?d be," Lita said. "Serena, you know your mom a whole lot more than we do. Is she angry for life?" "Oh, no way! I can?t believe how calm she was though! I?m experienced in being punished, and believe me, we got off easy. I wonder why she was so understanding. Do you think she met someone?" Serena suddenly asked, her eyes widening in fear. "Are you crazy? First of all, you and your mom are so open with each other that she?d probably tell you the minute there was a prospective future-daddy, and second of all, she probably just saw things from our point of view. We did this to help a friend and I don?t think we should?ve been punished at all, but I guess I see why Queen Serenity had to. We can?t just go around breaking all the rules and everything, even if it is for a good reason," Charma concluded. "Whatever. I just want to go to sleep. Do you know how late it is?" Jana groaned, throwing her sheets over her head. "Good night everyone." "She?s right. I?m exhausted," Rei said. "Whoa, Rei?s agreeing with someone? Am I hearing things?" Serena teased. "Oh, shut up," Rei grumbled. "I?m sick of this image that everyone seems to have of me. You know what I mean." "Oh, like how everyone thinks you?re rude?" "And eternally mean to Serena?" "And obnoxious?" "And grumpy?" "And snobby?" "Hey!" Rei protested. "I didn?t ask for your thoughts on my personality, okay? You?re stuck with me and I?d appreciate it if you?d keep your negative thoughts to yourself." "Oh, Rei, we were just kidding!" Anya soothed. "Yeah, we were," Lita said. "You?re not any of those things at all. Well maybe you are, but only sometimes." Serena walked over to Rei and have her a hug. "We are so not stuck with you. I?m the princess of the entire moon kingdom, you know. I could have you kicked out in a second. But I actually like you, can you believe it? Even though you are occasionally mean to me," she finished with a smile. "Oh, stop with the mushiness! Let me get to bed before I puke!" Jana moaned. "Yeah, back to bed," Rei said, playfully pushing Serena back to her bed, but not before returning the hug. "Agreeing again, Rei?" Charma murmured, grinning wickedly. "Shut up!" Rei retorted. "It?s called sleep! S-L-E-E-P! Now do it!" Jana ordered before falling unconcious onto her pillow. Three years later? "EUROPA TIDAL WAVE VANQUISH! Ha! Take that, Callisto!" Sailor Europa crowed victoriously as a huge stream of water sped towards Sailor Callisto. Callisto?s eyes widened, and then she grinned. "CALLISTO CYCLONE CONSUME!" she screamed, sending her attack straight towards Europa?s water stream. The cyclone smashed into the stream of water and the attacks canceled each other out. "Better not count your chicks before they hatch!" Callisto shouted, grinning at her opponent?s open mouth. "That?s not fair!!" Europa was still in shock over how Callisto had canceled her attack. Then, she saw Sailor Mars move into position behind Callisto, and decided to keep Callisto busy. "Ooh, you are going to get it!" Europa murmured, knowing that Callisto would try to get her angry. "Oh, yeah? What are you going to do next? Send a water fountain at me?" Callisto laughed. Sailor Europa only half listened as she watched Sailor Mars almost inaudibly form the words for her attack. The fire ball headed straight towards Callisto and hit her in the back. "Nope!" Europa said, smiling ear to ear. "A fire ball is more like it!" Turning to her teammate, she said, "Good going, Sailor Mars!" "Thanks!" Mars replied, giving Europa a high five. "Aaaugh!" Callisto moaned melodramatically. "I?ve been hit!" "Don?t worry, Callisto!" Sailor Moon called out. "I?m Sailor Moon, champion of justice, Princess of the Moon Kingdom, and your worst nightmare! On behalf of the Moon, I will right all wrongs and get you back after what you did to Callisto! MOON TIARA MAGIC!" Sailor Moon yelled, aiming her attack at the offending Mars. "Give me a break!" Mars chortled as she easily dodged the tiara. "If you?re going to make a huge speech before every attack, you?ll never be able to use the surprise tactic!" "Surprise this, Mars," Jupiter mumbled. "JUPITER THUNDER CRASH!" "Huh? Where?s Jupiter?" Mars asked, confused. Suddenly, the attack slammed into her side. "Ha! How?s that for surprise, Mars?" Jupiter laughed. "Not bad," Mars admitted. "If it weren?t for this armor we have on, I probably would?ve been?" "?DUSTED!" Sailor Moon exclaimed. "Boy, do I love that word." "Venus," Mercury whispered. "I?ll fog up the area and you take down whoever you can, okay?" "Got it!" Venus grinned. Sailor Flower, you?re going down! she thought mischievously. "MERCURY BUBBLES BLAST!" Mercury shouted, covering the area in a thick blanket of fog. Venus ignored the confused voices as she tried to find a target on the opposing team. Not being able to find Flower, she instead focused her energy on Sailor Moon. "VENUS CRESENT BEAM SMASH!" "Oh no you don?t, Venus! DAISY FAZE!" Sailor Flower yelled, watching with glee as her attack stopped Venus?s assault on Sailor Moon. "Okay, that?s it for today!" Artemis suddenly announced as the fog started to clear. "Good work guys. You?ve really been improving lately," Hunter commended. "Yes, you?re really starting to learn how to work with each other," Luna added. "Yeah, that?s great, but which team won?" Jupiter asked. "Well, from what I?ve seen, it should be a tie, but according to the computer? the team with Sailor Venus, Sailor Mars, Sailor Mercury, and Sailor Europa have won. Good job girls! It was a close one, though," Hunter said. Amid the positive and negative reactions to Hunter?s announcement, Artemis reminded the Scouts, "Queen Serenity is returning from Earth today and there is to be a ball welcoming her home tonight, don?t forget. So we would advise you all to get out of your armor and start getting ready for that." "Oooh, a ball," Mina exclaimed, as the girls reached their bedrooms. "I love getting dressed up!" "Like we don?t do that enough already," Lita grumbled, fingering the material of the dress she was wearing. Since turning thirteen, all the girls were expected to wear dresses all the time, instead of their usual, comfortable pants and shirts. "Oh, who cares about what we?re going to wear! Mother?s coming home!" Serena cried happily. "Yeah, and all our parents are going to attend the ball tonight too!" Ami said, smiling. "It?s been so long since we?ve seen Mom and Dad," Anya told Mina. "I can?t wait till tonight." "So what is everyone wearing tonight?" Charma asked curiously. "And, yes, Lita, it does matter. You know you love looking good in beautiful dresses so don?t give me that tomboy stuff. I know I?m wearing that purple one." "I think I?ll pick the yellow silk dress. You know, the one with the lace on it? And I?m going to put lovely yellow daffodils in my hair," Jana contributed. "Rei, you definitely have to wear that red, low-cut, velvet dress!" Serena cried. "You look amazing in it, and definitely older than thirteen!" "Father will kill me when he sees me in it, but you know I?ll wear it anyway!" Rei replied with a laugh. "Serena, I say go for the beautiful flowy white dress. The one the dress makers just put out for you?" Mina suggested. "Yes, that?s just what I was thinking myself. Why don?t you all start getting ready without me. I just want to get those daffodils for you, Jana, and see if I can get any flowers for the rest of us. I?ll be back in a second," Serena promised as she slipped out the door of their bedroom. "Oh, Serena! Why don?t you pick some stuff out of my garden? I know you?ll find what you need in there," Anya called from inside the room. "Oh, great, thanks!" Serena replied and left, but not before hearing someone say excitedly, "I bet there will be lots of guys at the ball tonight." Serena thought about that as she wandered down the sunlight halls to Anya?s garden. She didn?t think of boys romantically just yet, exactly. She just thought that the girls? interest in them was a sign that they were getting older and maturing. And this meant that someday, someday soon, she would be ruler of this beautiful kingdom. Serena realized she was just thirteen still, but that meant only five years until her coming of age ceremony and, if she was ready and willing, the passage of the throne from the Queen to the Princess. Not that she couldn?t handle it, Serena mused. Even at thirteen, she was much more graceful, intelligent, and mature than she was when the other princesses first joined her. In fact, all the girls were. And Serena was proud of the fact. Lost in her reverie, Serena continued on her way to the garden and accidentally bumped into someone else. "Oh, I?m sorry!" she apologized, looking into the stranger?s eyes with surprise. "Are you all right?" "Yes, I?m fine, thank you," the girl replied. She appeared to be a few years older than Serena and her long, wavy red hair and open face conveyed a bright, lively personality. "I don?t believe we?ve met. I?m Serena," she introduced herself. "Oh, I recognized you when I first saw you coming down this hall. Princess of the entire Moon Kingdom, am I correct?" Serena blushed, but said matter-of-factly, "That?s just some title they stuck on me when I was born. Please call me Serena." "I?m pleased and honored to meet you?Serena. I?m Lady Beryl of Earth." "Of Earth?" Serena exclaimed in surprise. "The party from Earth arrived already?" "Yes, we came in not too long ago. That?s how I recognized you, actually. You look strikingly similar to your mother." "Is that good or bad?" Serena joked, but secretly basking in the praise because she considered her mother the most beautiful woman she?d ever seen. "Believe me, I just gave you a compliment. You?re both gorgeous," Beryl said with a smile. "Look who?s talking," Serena teased. "Lady Beryl! I need to speak to you about something," a male voice called. Serena shivered involuntarily and without knowing why. She hadn?t felt a breeze? She and Beryl looked farther down the hall and saw a tall young man with dark hair looking their way. Beryl looked at Serena apologetically, but Serena quickly said, "I?m on an errand I must attend to. It?s been a pleasure meeting you, Lady Beryl, and I truly hope we meet again before you return to Earth." "As do I, Serena. But please, call me Beryl," Beryl returned with a smile. They curtsied to each other and then continued on their separate ways, in opposite directions. Serena was bewildered as to why she was feeling so flustered, but she shook the feeling off and walked off to the garden with a new determination to find the most beautiful flowers ever. Hmmm? why is Beryl being so nice? And who is that mysterious dark- haired young man? Find the answer to this and all your other questions in the next? Destiny Thwarted. Well, maybe the next part won?t answer all your questions but we hope to get it out soon. Maybe we?ll get it out even sooner if we get any feedback on this, positive or negative! Is that a bribe? Only if you want it to be! ;) But really, we?d appreciate any email! We want to know if this sucks or not! (pekkle3779@aol.com)
