crystalhawke@yahoo.com Hey, everyone. This is a new fic that I am writing. I know I have others that I need to finish. But I have writer's block on them so I figure I'll write this one while I'm trying to figure out what I'm gonna do for "The Green and Purple of Justice" and my "Silver Love" Sequel. Hopefully I can figure it all out while I'm working on this new story. You all know the disclaimer, and I don't own "Always You and I" By 98 Degrees, nor do I own any of their other songs. So yeah. Read this an tell me what you thought. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Always You and I Prologue *?*?*?*?*?*?*?*?* "I don't love you anymore." Mamoru said. It tore his heart apart to say those words. But he couldn't let his Usako know how much he loved her. Not when it meant that she would be hurt. He was doing this for her own good. Right? "I-I don't understand." Usagi said shocked. She stared at Mamo-chan, her love. After all they had been through together. The destruction of the Moon Kingdom, dying for him, the thousand year old wait to be reborn, the fight with the NegaVerse, her dying for him again. Now he wanted to throw it all away? "But we're meant to be together, Mamo-chan we..." "That's just it, Usagi!" Mamoru yelled. "I don't want to my life to be mapped out for me. I want to choose my own path. And I just don't love you anymore." "But you told me..." "Why does my life have to revolve around something that happened a thousand years ago?" Mamoru said. "I want to start over. Without you." He couldn't stand to see her hurting like this. He saw the tears fall silently down her cheeks. He couldn't take it. Before he told her it was all a lie, he turned and walked away. Each step felt like a stab in his heart. His own eyes started to blur with tears. This was the hardest thing he could ever do. And he had to do it for Usako. Usagi stared at the retreating form of Mamoru. She turned and ran. When she reached a secluded spot at the park she sniffed and fell to the ground. She was surprised to see Luna there. She told Luna everything that Mamoru had said to her. She did not wail like usual. No, this time, the tears fell silently. Luna comforted her as much as she could. After a while Usagi wiped the remaining tears and stood up. This was a time when she needed her friends. Just as she was about to head to the temple she heard a scream. At the same time her communicator beeped. "Usagi, we need you downtown." Rei said. Before Usagi could reply her communicator went blank. Usagi looked at the scene before her. She couldn't just leave these people with this youma. MOON PRISM POWER MAKE-UP "Why don't you pick on someone your own size?" Sailor Moon yelled out. "You mean, like you?" The dragon-like youma asked. "Yeah, like me!" Sailor Moon said. Luna stared at her. When had Usagi become so confident? Luna felt pride for her young charge. "On behalf of the Moon I shall punish you!" Just as she was about to call out her attack Sailor Moon felt a sharp pain in her back. She spun around to see a smaller dragon-like youma behind her. It laughed maliciously. Usagi had to think fast. How could she defeat two youma? Her back hurt and she felt weak from the loss of blood. "Sailor Moon, look out!" Luna yelled. She watched as the larger youma threw a fireball at her young charge. Sailor Moon managed to jump out of the way causing the attack to hit the smaller youma. Sailor Moon took this opportunity to attack it. MOON TIARA ACTION Sailor Moon sighed as her tiara turned frisbee hurled towards the smaller youma. It cried out as it hit. The youma turned to dust and Sailor Moon felt a wave of accomplishment. Now, all she had to do was get rid of the other youma. She turned toward it. "Now, for you." Sailor Moon said. "It's time for you to join your evil friend thing." "I don't think so." The youma laughed as it threw another fireball. Sailor Moon managed to jump out of the way and actually land gracefully on her feet. Luna was amazed and had never felt prouder. Her charge was finally learning how to be graceful. MOON PRISM POWER A few seconds later the youma was moon dust and Luna let out a cheer. She ran over to Sailor Moon, who had fell to the ground. She looked pale and extremely weak. Luna looked at her worriedly. "I need to get to the others" Sailor Moon said as she managed to stand up. She ran as fast as she could. Sailor Moon ran to the sight of the battle. She was tired from the battle she had across town and she was sore all over. But still she ran to the battle sight where the senshi was trying to defeat the latest youma that was trying to kidnap the 'Rabbit'. "Sailor Moon, hurry up" Mars yelled angerly. Venus and Jupiter were down. Tuxedo Mask and Mercury were trying to attack the youma. Usagi looked up and saw the youma. It was close to Rini. She was about to call out when the youma hit Rini across the air. She hit a tree with a light thud. Usagi felt the anger boil inside her. No one HURT Rini and got away with it. "MOON PRINCESS HALATION" She cried. The youma was reduced to dust. She ran over to Rini. Tuxedo Mask was cradling her and the rest of the senshi were crowded around.. "How is she?" Usagi asked worriedly. "She's alright. No thanks to you." Mars said angerly. "Yeah, Usagi." Mercury agreed. "She could have died." "We all could have died." Jupiter said. "Where were you?" Mars asked. "No, wait, let me guess. You had to finish a game." "No, I...." "You need to grow UP, and learn responsibility. You don't deserve to wear the title of Sailor Moon, our leader, or Moon Princess. You're a stupid klutz who can't do ANYTHING RIGHT." "I think you should leave." Jupiter said quietly. Everyone agreed Sailor Moon looked at Tuxedo Mask. "I'll take Rini home with me." He said. "She'll be safer. How could you be so irresponsible" Sailor Moon was about to cry. But she held it back. She stood tall and rigid. Then suddenly she cracked. She wasn't about to show them she was weak. She was a Princess. The Princess of the Moon. And if they didn't want to let her explain about the other battle then so be it. "I think you should leave..." Mars started but before she could finish Sailor Moon turned to her and she nearly gasped. The blond girl narrowed her eyes at her, instead of tears she saw...nothing. She watched as she placed her hand over the brooch and the star locket. Then she spoke words that Sailor Moon would never say. "If that's how you all feel." Sailor Moon said glancing at her friends that still didn't look at her. She turned back to Mars. "Well, Sailor MARS, if you think you can do a better job than me, then go ahead and try. But I am no longer you're LEADER since you think that way about me." Then she turned to Tuxedo Mask. "Then I'll stay out of your LIVES FOREVER." With those last words she pulled off the brooch and the locket and threw them down. She saw Tuxedo Mask winch at the sound of the locket shattering. Without another look at any of them she turned and left ignoring the gasps at her back where her clothes were bloodstained and ripped. She thought she heard Mars remark; "She'll come back." At home Usagi ran to her room still refusing to let the tears come. She looked up and looked at herself in the mirror. The old Usagi faded away and a new one appeared. Then she jumped up and grabbed her suitcase from her closet. After she packed most of her possessions she took one last look around before leaving the house and getting into the taxi that was waiting for her. She was driven to the airport and boarded the plane. She sat next to a young girl about her age. She had long light green hair and green eyes. She seemed to be deep in concentration until she suddenly looked at Usagi and smiled. "Running away?" The girl asked. Usagi looked at her surprised. "Relax, Princess. I won't tell." "Excuse me?" Usagi squeaked. She didn't know who this girl was and how the heck she knew that she was a princess. The girl seemed to notice her discomfort and smiled kindly. "I'm Rimona." Rimona said. "Sworn to protect you at ALL costs. I'm sort of a 'reserve' senshi. I only come when you need help the most. And you look like you need it...Princess Serenity are you alright?" "How come I don't...I mean you were never...." Usagi stuttered. "Mentioned? Around? Actually I was around. I'm unknown to the inner and outer senshi, except for Sets, she knows, of course how could she forget me? Well, anyway, as I was saying, I was Princess Persephone in the Silver Millennium. We were best friends..." "Princess Persephone?" Usagi asked wide-eyed. The name seemed VERY familiar. She conjured up and image of her from the Silver Millennium. It was hazy but she remembered Princess Persephone. "I never knew you were a senshi." Usagi said. "Well, as I said I'm 'Unknown' to the inner and outer senshi." Rimona said. "Before I could do anything you had already flung yourself after that Prince from Earth." She said the last three words with hint of prejudice or was it hate? Usagi couldn't tell. Usagi was about to say something when a yawn interrupted her. Rimona smiled as she watched. "Perhaps you should sleep Princess." Rimona suggested. Usagi smiled and closed her eyes. But before she drifted off she heard Rimona's last comment. "It going to be an uncomfortable and long ride for Luna in the cargo hold." Usagi's eyes popped open but closed again and she was asleep. She didn't care where Luna was at the moment all she could think about was sleep. A few hours later, Usagi felt someone shake her. She woke up with a start and looked at Rimona. She had forgotten where she was for a moment. Then she sat up and looked around sleepily. Rimona smiled gently as Usagi started to fall asleep. "We're landing." Rimona said. Usagi woke up again and looked out the window. She yawned and turned back to see Rimona lift up a bag. "Are you alright?" Rimona asked. "It's a lot more comfy than the cargo hold." A voice answered. "I never realized how spacious these bags are..." Rimona closed the bag muffling the voice. She turned to Usagi and grinned. Before she could ask about it the plane landed and Rimona got up to leave. After getting Usagi's bags, which seemed to have multiplied from when she had left they walked outside where Rimona walked to a strange looking car. It looked circular yet it was the same rectangular shape as all cars. Flaps covered the wheels so it looked like it floated and the top disappeared when Rimona pressed a small button from a little black device in her hand. She opened the trunk and started to put Usagi's bags in. Usagi stood and watched, the trunk looked way too small to fit all of her luggage in, yet she easily placed them in and it looked as if she could put more in. "Nice car." Usagi commented. "Isn't it?" Rimona asked happily. "Only one of it's kind. It's sort of a prototype." After getting in and letting Luna out of the bag, Rimona put on a pair of sunglasses and handed a pair to Usagi and Luna; who looked funny, yet cute. Then she sped away from the airport. "Alright, first thing we gotta do is change your name." Rimona said. "I like Serena." "What's wrong with my name?" Usagi asked. "If you don't want 'them' to find you then you want to change everything about the old you. Once you left Tokyo you left your life there." Rimona stated. "Alright my new name is Serena." Usagi said. Rimona smiled and handed her a black case. Usagi opened it to reveal cd's. She selected one and Rimona popped it into the CD player. "We'll also change the way you look." Rimona said. "I see purple and black in your future, perhaps some white." "You mean like what your wearing?" Usagi, now Serena asked looking at Rimona's clothes. She wore black pants with purple socks and black shoes, white shirt and a purple jacket. "How long is this ride?" Luna asked. Serena and Rimona seemed to notice her for the first time. Luna, would have started in on Serena when she first saw her but the little talk Rimona had with her when she fetched her on the plane made her rethink her actions. "Oh, we'll hit the freeway soon." Rimona said. "If you want to take a nap then go ahead. It'll be awhile." Immediately Serena fell asleep. Rimona chuckled as she drove. There wasn't very much traffic which was unusual during this time of day. She didn't mind though. She glanced at Luna who was watching the mountains as they passed. After about three hours of driving Rimona turned off the freeway. She turned into a driveway and the gate opened up and she drove in. After stopping and waking up Serena, who gasped at where she would live at from now on. The house was HUGE. It was longer than it was tall, four towers on each corner and four in the middle. Different colored flags stood on large pillars on top of it. Fountains, statues, pools, and all sorts of flowers littered the acres of grass. "I see you made it back safely." A man said walking out. He looked to be Darien's age. He wore all black. Black shirt, pants, shoes, socks, and a black pair of sunglasses. A large black dog followed. "Serena, this is Jordan." Rimona said. Jordan kissed Serena's hand. "And Cerberus." "It's good to see you again Princess." Jordan said. The dog nodded in agreement. "He's Prince Hades from the Silver Mill." Rimona explained. "Prince Hades?" Serena asked confused. "Aren't you...?" "Sailor Pluto's baby brother." Hades finished. He winked at her before turning to Rimona. He opened his mouth to say something. "I need to show Serena her room." Rimona said grabbing Serena's hand before Jordan could say anything. "Bring her bags will you?" After going up the stairs Rimona stopped in front of a door. A crescent Moon and a crown symbol was on the door. She pushed it open and Serena gasped. The room looked exactly like her old room on the Moon. "Do you like it?" Rimona asked. "I tried to make it like the room in the Palace. Well get settled in. Dinner will be ready soon." When Rimona left Serena looked around the room. Almost everything was marked with the crescent moon\crown symbol. She opened the closet and looked at all the clothes. She finally chose black jeans and a violet blouse. She heard a knock at the door. When she opened it a man dressed in a black and purple uniform stood in front her. "Dinner is being served Princess Serenity." The man said bowing. "Allow me to escort you to the dining room." Serena and Luna followed the man through the halls. After reaching the dining room the two men standing in front of it opened the doors allowing them to enter. "Her Royal Highness... Princess Serenity." The man said introducing Serena. He bowed and left. Serena stared at the three new faces around the table. All girls. One had long purple hair and dark purple eyes, another had long aqua hair and aqua eyes, the third had long white hair and light (almost white)sky blue eyes. "This is Michelle, Leisha, and Celeste." Rimona said pointing to each girl. They nodded at Serena and smiles as their name was said. "Leisha lives with her brother." "It's good to see you again, Princess Serenity." The purple haired girl named Michelle said. She somehow looked familiar. Serena stared at her trying to figure out where she had seen her before. Michelle said one word. "Harmony." That one word brought back a flood of memories. They often played when they were little. Then when Harmony turned ten and Serenity was six, she had been sent away to another planet to learn. When Harmony came back to the Moon, they had often sat and talked in her room while Harmony brushed her hair. This was her sister. "Harmony." Serena said happily as she threw her arms around the older girl. "It's been a long time, Princess." The aqua haired girl named Leisha said "I hope you enjoy it here." The white haired girl named Celeste said. After eating and getting to know her sister again, Serena went back to her room. She walked to the window and looked out at the Moon. It brought back memories of when she lived in Tokyo. She let a small tear escape her eyes. Then she went to bed. A little while later she woke up and looked at the clock. By this time she would be out fighting a youma. She fell back asleep a moment later. "It's not my problem any more." She muttered in her sleep. She dreamed of others. Soon she would be reunited with her brothers. In the following weeks she met others, including Lance and Tranq, her brothers. *?*?*?*?*?*?*?*?* Minako, Ami, and Makoto didn't see Usagi at school the next day. Ms. Haruna didn't seem to notice she was missing. In fact, no one did. They looked at each other puzzled. They stared at the clock expecting her to show up apologizing any minute. But at the end of school when it was apparent that she wasn't going to show they ran to Rei's temple. "Rei, have you seen Usagi at all today?" Makoto asked. "She wasn't at school today." Minako said. "I haven't seen her." Rei said. She felt a tight pain in her chest. "She's probably at home." "Let's go see." Ami suggested so the girls took off towards Usagi's house. They knocked on the door and Ikuko, Usagi's mom answered the door. "May I help you?" She asked as she looked at the four girls. "Usagi wasn't at school today. We was wondering if she's alright." Rei explained. Usagi's mom looked at them confused. "There's no Usagi here." She said. "You must have the wrong house." "But you're her mother." Makoto protested. "I have a son and that's it." Ikuko said. "Thanks." Rei said politely before dragging the others away. "Guys something's wrong." "You think?" Makoto asked sarcastically. "Maybe she told her mom what happened and she's pretending she doesn't live there." Minako suggested. "I don't think so." Ami said quietly. She was looking at her computer. "According to this....Tsukino Usagi doesn't exist." "WHAT?!" The other three yelled. "If she doesn't exist then how are we going to..." Rei started, but didn't finish. She paled drastically as she realized the seriousness of what they had done the night before. She pulled out the brooch that Usagi had thrown down. It stopped glowing and disappeared. "This is bad, very bad." Rei said. "Look there's Mamoru." Minako said pointing. "Hey, guys." Mamoru said walking up. "Mamoru have you noticed anything wrong?" Rei asked calmly. "Well, I was making breakfast this morning and Rini was laying on the couch. When I went in to get her to eat she was gone." "WHAT? She's gone too?" Makoto asked. "What do you mean 'gone too'?" Mamoru asked. "Well, Usagi didn't bump into you today did she?" "Uh, no." "Mamoru...." "USAGI'S GONE." Minako blurted out tears forming in her eyes. Mamoru looked stunned for a moment. "She's probably at..." "She's NOT AT HOME!" Makoto yelled. "SHE WASN'T AT SCHOOL TODAY AND AMI CHECKED HER COMPUTER AND....." She stopped and choked out a sob. Mamoru looked at Ami who had her own set of tears. "She doesn't exist." She said quietly. "WHAT?!" Mamoru shouted. "Without the Moon Princess then...." Mamoru paled drastically as he realized what he was saying. Usagi was gone. He felt as if his soul had been ripped right out of his body. His Princess, the one he loved was gone. "Mamoru, the star locket." Rei said suddenly. "If she does exist then it would still be..." Mamoru pulled out the shattered locket and Rei's face fell. Then before their eyes the pieces started to shimmer and fade. *?*?*?*?*?*?*?*?* END OF PROLOGUE ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Well, what did you guys think? Was it good? Bad? Well tell me what you thought.
