Time of Corruption by DarkPluto4 DarkPluto4@aol.com yada yada Chapter 4 - Abandon Destiny? Author's Note: Gotta read the previous chapters. And if you're bored, ACTION IS COMING. I PROMISE. In the last chapter, we stopped when Pluto can't keep up the debate. Pluto broke down and fell on the bed, crying and sobbing. A new rain of tears covered the bed and the pillow again. She never did cry often, but no one had ever seen her when she did. She never let anyone. She was supposed to be the calm, placid, serene, almost stony, and emotionless Pluto, always composed and reserved. But she could not handle this pain. A strong hand pulled her up. It was the man. "What do you want? Don't you think you've done enough damage tonight?" she snarled. "I'm friendless and I have nothing left in the world." "You still have me. That's why I came. I'm your friend," said the man as tenderly as ever. " *Right*. For pity's sake, I don't even KNOW you, even though strangely, you seem to know me too well." "I have a proposal to make with you," he said. "A proposal?" she said. "Yes, but before we start, give me your hand," he ordered. She stared at him suspiciously for a second, but shrugging, held out her thin, tear-stained hand to him. He held her. Suddenly, strong pulses of pain fell through her and she collapsed on the floor. Weakly, she stood up. "What was that for????" she screamed in fury, whipping her Time Staff up and ready to attack. "I'm SO sorry!" the man gasped apologetically and immediately ran into the kitchen and came back with a kit. He took a dampened cloth and moistened her forehead and began massaging her. "Don't you ever try that again unless you want a seriously beating," warned Pluto. "I'm not the most violent one on the team, but I'm certainly not mild, especially when I'm in as bad and bitchy of a mood as I am in right now." She had recovered. But?but something was different. She could feel it. She felt?so?different. Something had changed in her. She could feel inside her?the hot, vengeful streaming of her blood and the hate inside her?the hate that had always been there. It was growing and growing and battling fiercely with the good inside her. The battle had always raged. Chaos was everywhere in people. But her good had always been able to lock up the Chaos, and rarely did it bother her except when she saw the Queen and the daughter and Endymion. But now, the evil, the Chaos?it was raging out of control. 'No! I am a Sailor Scout! I stand for all the good and justice in the world! It is my duty to help preserve the Universe!' 'Don't you think you've suffered enough as it is helping the Universe against a bunch of people who say they're your friends and in reality could care less about you?' 'They do care! They are my friends! They have suffered as much as I!' 'Yeah, right, so why do they never visit you? Why do they not know anything about your suffering? Why do they neglect you on your BIRTHDAY and many other of the social gatherings?' The fights raged on inside her. "STOP IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" She screamed. "Setsuna? Pluto? Sailor Pluto? Puu? Are you okay?" the man asked. "Don't you EVER call me Puu. No one calls me that?except Small Lady," the name was said so quietly it was barely audible. "Are you well enough to proceed?" he asked, showing some concern. "I'm FINE," she muttered. That was encouragement enough. "Good. I have a proposal to make. A plot for revenge. A chance for you to punish your enemies and all those who have hurt you and all the Sailors who are in league against you," She cut him off. "ALL the Sailors???" she cried, her eyes widening. "Why, of course. You are the one with control over time. The only one," he explained. "What? I'm the only Soldier with control over time?" she said, astonished. "Of course. Why else would there be no other sailors to take over watch over the Gates of Time and allow you to have free time? There *IS* only one Gate of Time, you know. And that is the one you watch over every day. Now, I have a plan, a plan that will make you stronger than you can ever imagine - strong enough to destroy your enemies and receive the man you love and allow you to live a happy life," Pluto was silent. "And what's in it for you?" "Your friendship," he smiled. "Hah. Very funny. You think I'm stupid, don't you?" she said wryly. "Ok, ok. Fine. But there is a condition?I will provide you with all the power necessary to capture THIS system for yourself and wreak revenge on those who have wronged you. But you must do something for me in return," he announced. "What?" Pluto looked at him warily. "The rest of the universe must be mine," he stated. "Oh no! You're one of those people after the universe. I should kill you right here," she said, gripping her Time Staff. "I am, I don't deny it. But you get the Sol Solar System, the Moon Kingdom, and the one love you've ever had. And much more power than you could ever imagine," he replied. "So if you're so powerful as to be able to give me enough power to take over this solar system and the rest of the galaxies and the Universe, then why don't you take it over yourself?" she challenged. "I have my reasons. Besides, you being a Sailor too, the other Sailors will hesitate to openly challenge and kill you. And it allows you to get a good start at first just by shocking them so much by turning against them. The surprise at the beginning will give you a great advantage," he smiled. "Do you accept?" Pluto was silent. Here was the opportunity to escape the Gates of Time, to live a life she had always wanted to live. Here was the opportunity to revel in the feelings of vengeance that had lived in her so long. But she was a Sailor. She was born a Sailor. Her destiny was to be the good in the Universe. To protect her Queen, to protect the universe against evil. She was to fight for justice, for peace, for the Good in the world. By succumbing to this charming man, she was to destroy her destiny and work against all she had fought so devoutly for in life. It was to abandon her destiny, to abandon the future she had battled so hard for. It was to betray all her friends, all the people she cared for. In a sense, it was betraying the person she had become. Or once cared for. Or all the people she thought were her friends. She would be avenging all the days she had spent in misery and depression. It would be the day she would come back and show them she was still strong. It was the day she could shake off the life that was so burdening and confining. As for destiny, she was tired of it. Destiny had ruined her just as much as the Gates had. And the person she had become? She seemed on the outside as faithful as a scout as ever, but she could not deny the other half of her - the darkness in her. Yes, all the rage and fury and resentment and bitterness. They were as much her as the good side of her was. She could let go of her duty, of her destiny. She could let the evil within her flourish and for the first time, conquer over her good. She could be the evil lurking behind that beautiful face and the large, soulful, scarlet eyes. Author's Note: Comments, anyone? send to DarkPluto4@aol.com
