Time of Corruption by DarkPluto DarkPluto4@aol.com Chapter 8 - Defeat Rating: PG-13 Author's Note: If you haven't read all the previous chapters, don't expect to understand this one. Pluto landed on much more inviting grounds, much to her relief. The field was pleasant and green. The terrain was gently rolling, and the flowers were fragrant. The soft perfume spread its seductive scent everywhere. Comforted, she walked about. "Freeze!" shouted a voice. Mysterious voices calling her had become a common incident of late, and unperturbed, Sailor Pluto turned to see who had called her. It wasn't a mysterious voice after all. Staring at the woman in the golden armor and the sword hanging at her side, Pluto was stunned. "Sailor Galaxia?" "We meet again, Sailor Pluto. Though it seems our sides have changed," her eyes narrowed. "What?" cried Pluto indignantly, feigning innocence. "I can sense evil, and you have been corrupted with dark energy - intense dark energy," stated Galaxia simply. "We shall have to destroy you and avenge the destruction of the Bariekaf System." "What do you know of the Bariekaf System?" challenged Pluto. "We all felt it. YOU silenced the whole system. One second, it was humming with life. And the next second, it was silent. Not a sound. Nothing. On behalf of our eight Scouts, we shall kill you," declared Galaxia. Pluto remained silent, looking calmly at Galaxia, waiting for her to continue. Seeing that Sailor Pluto was silent, Galaxia decided to go on. "You disgust me! You traitor! You killed your own kind! Now we shall have to kill you!" spat Galaxia, her golden eyes flashing angrily. She drew out her sword. Behind her, a cluster of other sailors assumed battle stances. "Galaxy Swirl!" She shouted, throwing her sword up. It twisted and turned until a galaxy-shaped ball of white energy flew towards Sailor Pluto. "Sheer Stone Consume!" A different flash of white energy lashed out from the crystal Pluto held in her hands, and the former energy was no more. Galaxia was stunned. "Death Slice!" shouted Pluto as she threw her staff up above her. It spun, and the sword flew out, aiming straight at Galaxia. "Starlight Barricade!" screamed Galaxia, and a veil of stars surrounded her. The sword vanished. Pluto was infuriated. Taking her staff, she screamed "ETERNAL TIME WIND STRIKE!" She jumped in the air as she began rotating faster and faster with her staff outstretched. The powerful winds of energy pounced out everywhere and leapt upon the Sailors gathered below. Many put up force fields, trying to hold off the attack. The whipping energy did not cease as many force fields weakened or collapsed. Pluto continued spinning, emitting the crushing blasts of energy as one by one, the Sailors fell. It wasn't until less than half the Sailors remained that she stopped and came down. Galaxia screamed as she ran to the side of a blue haired Sailor lying in a pool of blood weakly saying "Sister Galaxia! Sister Galaxia!" Seeing her opportunity, Pluto shouted once again, "Death Slice!" The sword flew, and this time, embedded itself into Galaxia who fell to the ground next to her sister, bleeding. She gripped her sword, but before she could utter a word, Pluto had shouted "Shimmering Skylight Slash!" Her arms rotated rapidly as a white ball of energy formed in her hands as she threw it at Galaxia. Galaxia was crushed back to the ground. Pluto laughed. "Let's try this! Voltage Blast!" She flung her hands toward Galaxia, and a shock of lightning-speed energy bolt flew out and struck her. "Eternal Time Wind Strike!" Gusts of energy pelted Galaxia. The mighty golden warrior could hold out no longer and fell unconscious. Pluto looked at the bodies lying about. A few remained. Laughing, she took her Time Staff and pointed towards them. Short blasts of energy shot out from her Garnet Orb. Convinced they had all fallen, Pluto held her clear crystal and flung it toward the sky. "Sheer Stone Consume!" The shocking white veiled everything for a few moments as Pluto reveled in the flood of energy. And then?the darkness?again. Black covered everything. Night's dark robes consumed all - even the sky. She walked over, searching for Galaxia. Her armor would be the most valuable spoil she could obtain. But Galaxia's body was no longer there. Pluto looked around frantically. All the other bodies were present - except Galaxia's. She closed her eyes. "DAMNIT!" she screamed, as she felt the portal. You got away this time, Galaxia, but next time, I will see to it that you die before my eyes!, she vowed. Author's Note: *GASP* The chapter is so short! And the next one is, too. There'll be one or two short chapters before another horrifically long one. =)
