Time of Corruption by DarkPluto DarkPluto4@aol.com Chapter 11 - Prisoner of Loneliness Rating: PG-13 Author's Note: Nope, this isn't going to be the long one. Sailor Pluto was almost bored as she watched all the fallen Sailors. The flash of light, and she felt all the energy seep into her. She felt a small grain of joy for the first time in months at destroying the last galaxy besides the Milky Way. It had been months since that day so long ago when she abandoned her duties. She had broken every single rule she had received as a Keeper. Never alter time was one of the most significant of the three major rules. She had to. She could no longer keep her destiny as she knew it would come. She had a right to live! And she wasn't living. It was a curse - the same day repeating over and over, never changing, always mocking her. She had fallen into a trap, into the cage of Life. And no one came to help her. She had always been deserted, had always been the one alone. She was born an only child. Alone in the house?her mother guarded the Gates. Her father?had been killed. She never knew her father. Choosing to take the duties left upon her by her mother and forced upon her, nearly, by Queen Serenity was her biggest mistake - a mistake that would tarnish and eat away at her life forever. Standing alone, always, staring at Gates. She had become a master at acting. She always acted calm acted peaceful, acted mature and perfect. She acted so unemotional and frosty, controlling the wild, chaotic mess inside her that many thought she was a robotic, unfeeling woman. And she remembered when the Moon Kingdom fell. She went out and fought with cheerfully and vigorously, glad to be free of the Gates. But Queen Serenity called to her toward the middle of the battle and told her to go back to the Gates. She said she could not afford to lose her for who would then guard the Gates? Once again, them, valuing her for her power and saying that to her face. If she had not had the power, no one would have cared if she died in battle or not. And back to the Gates she went. And felt the agony as Sailor Neptune, Sailor Uranus, and Sailor Saturn fell. And then?the emptiness came over her again. At night, she couldn't sleep. Transporting herself to the Moon Kingdom as quickly as possible, she gasped. The Moon Kingdom was no more. It was destroyed and defeated. Looking at the dead body of the Queen and the Sailors, she realized she was alone - alone as she was always cursed to be. The Lone Sailor. She was alone then. Even finding the Soldiers later reborn on Earth and safe, she was alone - far too old to fit in with them. And now, more than a millenium later, she was still alone. The centuries of guarding the Gates had been unbearably lonely, but now, they had pushed her to this. She was a Lone Rebel, the enemy of all the Scouts. And she was still her own enemy. Battling the other Scouts had been so simple. Battling all the enemies in her life had been so simple, too. But there was one war she could never win - the battle against herself. She sighed as she stood up. The Darkness had come over the entire Universe. A dark shimmer came. "Congratulations," The Master smiled. "Only one Galaxy awaits you. I believe many of the Scouts had already fallen, though, in the various campaigns of combined powers of Scouts to destroy you. It should be quite easy. The Milky Way Galaxy will fall, too, soon, right?" "Yes," she said hollowly, automatically tightening her grip on the staff. "And then, soon, I take control of the Galaxy, and you take control of the Moon Kingdom," he smiled. "And we shall both live happily. You've done a marvelous job, Sailor Pluto." He patted her. Pluto felt nothing. She never felt much anymore. The only thing keeping her alive was the hope of finally taking Endymion and the revenge on the Scouts - the Scouts that had been the source of all her pain. Destroying all the other Scouts had soon stopped producing any effect on her. She felt indifferent to it all. Even in battles, she felt indifferent. Nothing gave her joy. But she WOULD take joy at killing the Solar System Scouts. They would pay - especially Serenity - for her years of torment. They would pay for taking her life! They would pay?oh yes, they would! Pluto felt herself completely washed and in the tight grip of Hate and Anger. The Master smiled, feeling the Darkness grow in her. "So when are you going to teleport?" he asked her impatiently. "I will now," She said, holding on to her locket. He glinted and was no more as she shouted "Pluto Universal Power - Teleport!" Yes, the final battle was approaching. And her days as a Lone Soldier would end?everything would end? Author's Note: Wow, this really was an incredibly short one. But the LONG LONG one(s) is (are) coming up.
