drgonwynd@aol.com Author's Note: During this chapter, you meet someone that, if you know my real name, you'll know how I came up with him. I wouldn't usually add a new character, I'm trying to keep the universe intact. But certain events will be occuring during this fanfic that couldn't really be explained by me during the fanfic. In otherwords, it'll be like I'm in the fanfic, but he'll be mainly for explanations. Also, he needs to be there to help pull the story along. Although there is something that you should know, in this chapter, the new character speaks english, and since this story is based that they are actually speaking japanese, the engish speaking characters will have this | for a quote and an unquote. -Dragonwind Nexus Chapter 5 "Two other senshi? Exactly how many more senshi can there be?" Mamoru questioned. Hotaru looked up and just shrugged, "I don't know, I blacked out about then. I didn't see all what happened next. I wish I did, so I could tell you more..." "Wait, if your arm was hit, how come it's fine now?" Usagi noticed. Hotaru looked at her right arm, then back at the girls, "That's another thing I don't understand, when I woke up, I was lying in the street near their bodies," Hotaru said, pointing towards toward her friends, who were in hospital beds, "and my arm was as if nothing had happened to it." "You mean they just left? They had you nearly dead and they just left? Doesn't seem right... Why would they just stop when they could've finished you off?" Minako asked. "What could have taken them all down? They're much stronger than we are," Ami stated. Rei responded, "Who knows, but they've got to be much stronger than we are, I don't know if we could actually take them." "Maybe we'll get more help from whoever saved you..." Minako stated, optimistic. A man in a white medical coat came in with a clipboard, speaking in a friendly manner, and checking on his patients. "Hello there! Are you friends of these ladies? Or do you just go around looking at comatose people?" he joked. Hotaru snapped her head towards the new voice with a gruesome look. "Whoa. Sorry about the joke, but I try to maintain a cheerful attitude when dealing with patients like these. Keeps the friends and relatives hopeful," he answered, as if Hotaru's look said something. "How are they doing?" Mamoru said. The doctor checked the charts and answered, "They were lucky they survived. Especially the lady with the long dark hair," he checked his papers, "Setsuna. She'll be lucky if she's not paralyzed. If you want my advice, I'd recommend going home and getting whatever rest you can get. It's been a hard night, and you can visit in the morning." Reluctantly, the girls left the room and went their separate ways. Usagi, luckily, got home before her parents, cleaned up the house, and was able to force Shingo to swear what had happened to secrecy. =============== Ami woke up in her bedroom on the second floor of her, as of 2 months ago, new house, and literally rolled out of bed onto her feet. She gave a look at herself in the mirror, as she did every morning. She shed her nightclothes (For sake of insanity, I won't provide a detailed description), and was about to go and take a morning bath, when she could hear voices downstairs. 'That's strange, didn't think that someone would be here right now,' she thought to herself. Curiously, she threw on her ankle-length nightgown and cautiously proceeded downstairs to investigate. As she reached the first floor, she could count 3 voices. One was her mother's, and the other 2 were strange. One of them was a young, higher-pitched voice, probably 12-15, and female. The second was considerably lower, male, and probably pretty older than the other. They were all talking like old friends, her mother would say something, then the male, and occasionally the young girl. She could finally hear what they were saying, "I'll think she'll be glad to see you again...if she actually remembers you." |I don't know, we didn't leave at what you would call the best circumstances. If she remembers, then she'll probably want to kill me at first sight,| the male said. She continued, "Still, I'd think she'd want to at least see you. I'll go up and check if she's awake, she usually gets a..." |...bath in the morning, the exact same thing she used to do back then. Are you going to get her, or should I come back later?| he asked. Ami thought for a few seconds, 'He knows me? Who is he?' "Okay, I'll go and see if she's awake," Ami's mother said. Ami hid behind a corner while her mother walked out of the living room, and went up the stairs. "I've got to get a look at those two before my mom finds me," she told herself, but before she could do anything, she heard a growling behind her. That was strange, she didn't know anything that growled in her house...unless... She slowly turned around and looked at the source of the sound. A large Siberian husky was crouched behind her, teeth bared, standing about 2 1/2-3 1/2 feet tall at it's shoulders. She slowly turned around, her back to the wall, trying not to make any sudden moves. She slid along the wall, and when she passed in front of the door to the living room, the dog suddenly barked, at the volume of an air-horn at point-blank range, which, you could figure out, startled her. She was so surprised she fell right through the door, it was open slightly, and crashed to the floor inside. |Ami?| Ami could barely hear the young girl's voice, the dog was barking so loud, but it was walking towards her quickly so she jumped up and soon had her back to the sofa. |I think he likes you,| the man said, loud enough for her to hear. "How do you know?" |Because he's my dog. Jacob! C'mere...| The Siberian husky went silent and lightly walked over to the man, where it sat and waited, it's eyes on Ami. "Thank you, but who are you?" she asked. |Ami!!!!| The young girl, who looked about 13, ran over to her and enveloped her in her arms. Before too long, she let go of her and looked at the very puzzled Ami. |You don't remember me...| The man spoke up, |I told you 4 times, she's NOT going to remember you. You were barely 6 years old at the time.| "Ami?" her mother said, walking through the now open door, "Oh, there you are." She looked at her daughter's nightgown, it was pretty easy to see it was the only thing she was wearing. "Do you think you could have gotten more clothes on?" Ami blushed at that prospect, but focused on the subject at hand, "Mom, who are these people?" Her mother smiled, and asked, "Ami, do you remember a young boy by the name of Daniel Skye? Had a younger sister by the name of Sarah?" "No." |Thought not|, the man said. "Well, Ami, I'd like you to meet...again...Daniel Skye," her mother introduced. Ami politely bowed, when she saw a hand reach out. The man was offering his in welcome, which he quickly took back, |Sorry, I forgot how to greet people in this country.| 'American,' she thought to herself. She stood up straight and extended her own, which he lightly grasped and shook. "Daniel Skye? Never heard of you," she said. |Thought not, I'm supposed to be dead.| "Really?" To be continued...
