drgonwynd@aol.com Yes!! My phone line is back!! Oh, for those of you that don't know, my phone line went out for a while, and during that time I finished this chapter and I think the next two chapters, I'm not sure, this is the only one I have on me right now. I have all the chapters in .doc form on my main computer, this form is how I write them, so they are the most complete, and the best looking. If you would like any of the chapters in .doc form, or if you would like all of them, just e-mail me with the request and I'll send it to you. (Free, as always, why would I charge?) This is after chapter 8, which I think I got out. If I didn't, please tell me so I can post it. Nexus Chapter 9: Queen Serenity At the doorway to the cafe stood a person wearing a black jacket, black pants, a dark green shirt and sunglasses. "Daniel?" Ami stated. "That's Daniel?" Makoto said, pointing at the man dressed in dark colors. "Come on, Sarah, we've got to get back. Jacob's waiting," Daniel said, ignoring the looks from all six of the people in the seats. Sarah quickly nodded, gathered up her pictures, and ran out of the room with a quick wave to the rest. Daniel remained, taking off his sunglasses and putting them in his pocket. "Hello, Ami. Nice to see you again." Ami didn't say anything, she just looked at the table, not knowing what to say. Mamoru stood up and stared at Daniel, who just stared right back, both seemingly studying each other. "I feel like I've seen your face before, but I don't know where," Mamoru stated after a short time. Daniel grinned and replied, "You may have. I've gotten around a lot recently, but I haven't been on TV or in a newspaper yet..." "I don't know, but you still seem familiar." Mamoru returned. "Well," Daniel finally said, taking the sunglasses from his pocket, "If you remember, me and my face will be in the neighborhood for a while." He left. Usagi stood up in front of Mamoru, who was still standing. "What's wrong, Mamo-chan?" she said, sounding equally worried and hopeful. "Nothing. He just gives me a strange feeling." * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Usagi woke up in a strange bed. She clearly was not in her bedroom, probably not even in her house, but the place seemed familiar. Stone walls surrounded her, the likeness of each wall broken only by a window and a door. She sat up, and noticed she was still wearing her nightgown. Usagi slid off the bed and gasped at the cold floor. She walked over to the window and was shocked by the scene she was presented with. The landscape was unlike anything she had seen before. Grass only grew in special domes. The sky was pitch black, speckled with numerous white dots. The place was silent, as if in mourning. But something else grabbed her attention. The Moon was nowhere to be seen, instead there was the Earth, taking up ten times the space the Moon did. "I'm...on the Moon, aren't I?" she asked herself. "Yes," a soft voice behind her answered. Usagi jerked around quickly, on to see an image of a very familiar woman in front of her. "Queen Serenity!?!" she exclaimed, not believing her own eyes. "Welcome to your mind," Serenity "My...mind? This...place is in my mind?" "Yes, this place is in your mind. Many memories of the Moon Kingdom and the Silver Millennium are locked away inside that brain of yours." Usagi unconsciously reached up and felt the side of her head. "Usagi, I don't have much time to talk to you, so I have to be quick. I've got something you need to know. You're not going to remember very much of this, but it's very important that I tell you," Serenity sat down on the side of the bed, facing Usagi. "What is it?" "Before I sent you to Earth, when you were about 5 years old, the Moon Kingdom was engaged in a war with probably the worst enemy we had yet to face. An entire galaxy was against us, and as such, we were losing." "Losing, but if we were losing, what got us out?" Usagi sat down on the bed alongside Serenity. "Well, we were nearly destroyed, when you reached 4 years old." "What does that have to do about it?" "Absolutely nothing...if you were a normal citizen...but because you were royalty, a Vanguard arrived." Anticipating the next question, she continued, "Vanguard is a name we give a user of a Dragon Crystal, which is our name for the crystal the Vanguards use." Usagi was puzzled, so Serenity explained a little. "Let's see...um, how should I explain this...a Vanguard is like your senshi: a soldier, a warrior, but, they are much more powerful than even you. One of the Crystals MADE the ginzuishou, so their crystals can easily destroy your crystal since Vanguards can use up their entire limit of power, if they even have one, without any danger to their health." "Okay...but why did a Vanguard arrive?" "When a prince or princess becomes 4 years old, it's time to choose their senshi. Each senshi was picked based on skill of their area of expertise, and all around personality and attitude. Since there was a war, the Vanguard collected all your senshi, then helped us with the war. He discovered that one of his own was the one that started the war. The king, your father, helped him fight against the enemy. Even my own senshi helped, whichever ones were still alive. I don't know exactly when the war was over, it was a gradual end. Two senshi were lost forever, in addition to that, I lost all of my senshi, in either the fighting or when we attacked the Vanguard, half our kingdom was destroyed, and the Vanguard that helped us died, along with your father. I never found out what happened to them. No one knows. Maybe the other Vanguards know something, but I didn't meet any of the others before...Beryl." "There's more than two Vanguards?" "Yes...fourteen in all." Usagi thought over this new information her mother was presenting to her. "That's what you needed me to know?" "No, the Crystals cannot accompany the Vanguards anywhere except this plane of existence. Now, when the two Vanguards left, both the Crystals lost their owners. The enemy's Crystal went to another owner immediately. The other's went into dormancy." "Dormancy?" Usagi asked, "you mean like hibernation?" "Something like that." "So what? Is it finally coming out?" Serenity nodded. "I need you to try and find the new owner before the other one does, they pass down their personality traits to each new owner." "That's quite enough talking, Serenity!!" Serenity froze as a person materialized in front of her. Usagi couldn't even begin to make him out. "Leave this place now!!!" the man yelled. Usagi jumped up. The man turned towards Usagi, and thrust his hand in front of her face. Usagi's vision became wavy and blurred. She could barely keep her footing, and soon all was black.
