Here's part 2? The red, orange and yellow lights of the impending horizon shined brightly over the small cottage in the middle of Carrington Forest. And perched atop a tree branch, overlooking the approaching day, a woman sat and stared. It would be a perilous journey and she hoped young Endymion would be able to surpass the expectations set upon him on the quest that he would soon learn of. He was but a farm boy, raised in the secluded woods, never learning of true danger. How was he to suspect that one day he would be a hero? OR that one day, he would have to choose between life and death, defeat boulders that would block his way in his path in life. He was not to know. It could not be so. He could not learn of his horrible fate. To know was far worse than to act upon oblivion. He had to figure all on his own. She just hoped that he would succeed for the outcome would be one that would affect the world. She directed her attention to the horizon once again. One's life was as predictable as the horizon. The lights, gathered together in a ball, fighting to get to the top and defeat the gravity pulling it down further. Sometimes it would succeed and sometimes? it wouldn't. She was distracted by the sound an enthusiastic child's voice. She looked down to see Darien staring at her in the tree. He was saying something but she was so into her thoughts the she didn't catch what he was saying. She smiled. "What did you say again, beloved?" "I said what are you doing the tree Auntie Olivia?" He was smiling at his aunt with adoration. Aunt Olivia had taken care of him ever since? forever. When his mother died, he was but an infant, and was taken into guardianship by his aunt Sophia. They had always lived in the woods and Aunt Sophia had home schooled him. He was now 14. Almost a man. And he had no idea of what lie ahead in his path in life. "I'm just thinking Darien. You know, I must talk to you but I shall climb down first. Have patience my beloved. It is very important," Sophia said as she climbed down the tree. As she walked toward Darien, she felt drops of rain on her face and realized that she had been watching for longer than she had realized. What a perfect atmosphere for the horrible news that she was going to tell her beloved. IT was almost enough to break her heart. The weather told secrets on every occasion. And this told of an unsure outcome. This told of dangers that surpassed the level of intensity that she had imagined. Why couldn't it be sunny? She reached Darien and together, they walked toward the cottage. The interior of the cottage was extremely beautiful and Sophia prided herself upon it. It was her creation. She created it in her head and there it was. The fireplace was weather censored and the light adjusted to what ever activity you were doing. The kitchen table and chairs were beige and created in an antique design. The couch was made of tiger skins and incredibly soft. The floor was a hard light brown color and smooth as silk. Sophia sat in her rocking chair and looked at Darien who was seated in his tiger skinned recliner. "Darien, I must tell you this and you must believe me. I want you to trust me on this," "How can you question my trust, Aunt Sophia, when I have always trusted you? Do you think so little of me?" "No, No my beloved. It is not that. I am so worried and am not thinking clearly. Alright, you must brace yourself beloved, for my information is not that of great outcome," "Of course Aunt Sophia, I am almost a man. I can take a bit of bad news." Darien smiled reassuringly and Sophia almost lost her edge. She hesitated before she said, "WE must leave the cottage," She looked at him to see if what she said had begun to take impact. Not yet. She continued. "You were not destined to live in the woods forever. You have a destiny that will affect many and you will know when the time comes the task you must fulfill your destiny," Darien was puzzled. Surely, he couldn't be very important. He had no powers and he had no knowledge of anything spectacular that he had done. And yet, he was to become a hero. "I am destined to become a hero for what cause Aunt Sophia?" "I cannot tell you at the moment beloved. It will come to you in the future. Now, hurry my beloved, you must pack. We shall leave before the upcoming dawn," Said Sophia as she began to walk away. "But where will we go," was Darien vain attempt for his aunt was out of earshot. Comments? Flames? Praises? Email? ME?
