If you haven't read that already, I suggest you do as some of the things in this story might not make sense otherwise. *=emphasized -=memories ^=telepathic message '=thoughts ----------------------------------------------------------------------- "Yipes! What was that?" Kou Seiya ducked as a small flame shot over his head. Looking up, he saw the larger flame ball that it had come off of. "Kakyuu-chan! Um, I think you'd better come and look at this!" He yelled. Kakyuu came running out of her palace to see what Seiya wanted her to see. "Seiya-kun... I don't believe this is happening!" Kakyuu said, breathlessly. "There's been another attack on earth!" "How would this big ball of fire get here? We aren't even in the same dimension as earth is!" Seiya exclaimed. "What's this I hear about earth?" Kou Yaten came up behind the princess, giving her a kiss on the cheek. "Yaten-kun, there's the fireball from the attack on earth Taiki-kun sensed." Kakyuu said. Seiya looked at Kakyuu and Yaten in surprise. "Taiki-kun sensed this?" He exclaimed. "Yes, Seiya-kun. While you were in your room moping over Usagi-chan, Taiki-kun and I have been observing attack patterns that Chaos used, along with the other enemy's the scouts have had to face in the past." Yaten said, smiling. *Seiya sweatdrops* "Well, uh... still how could that fireball have gotten through to here?" He asked. "I almost got burnt from a smaller flame!" Yaten starts to laugh while Kakyuu supresses a grin. "I'm sorry, Seiya-kun. I suppose I should have told you this earlier." Kakyuu said, looking up at the flame in the sky. "Tell us what, Kakyuu-chan? You already informed us of the Neo-Starsenshi you were training. What else is there?" Yaten asked. "Or should we go find Taiki first?" "I think it would be best if we found Taiki-kun first, so I can tell minna at once." Kakyuu said calmly. Ten minutes later, Taiki, Yaten, and Seiya were all gathered in Kakyuu's meeting room, just off the throne room where her parents were having a meeting. "Taiki-san, Yaten-san, Seiya-san, I had a visit from Setsuna-chan early this morning. She told me some things that were a great surprise to me. It is because of these things that I must send you back to earth." Kakyuu announced. Taiki and Yaten were momentarily stunned, while Seiya simply looked at Kakyuu with such a look that betrayed what he was really thinking. ^Yes, Seiya-san, she did tell me. She also told me some things that you are not supposed to know now. I do not know if you will discover these things in the, uh, future or not.^ Kakyuu telepathically told him. ^How much did she tell you, Kakyuu-sama?^ Seiya asked, panic evident in even his mental thoughts. ^Enough, Seiya-san, enough. You have no reason to worry, you will be accepted just as though you had never left, though you will no longer be the Three Lights.^ "Won't be the Three Lights anymore?" Seiya exclaimed out loud. Taiki and Yaten, who had been discussing the possible reasons for the sudden decision, looked at Seiya in surprise. "What do you mean we won't be the Three Lights anymore?" Seiya cried in disbelief. ^Only one of you has the potential to keep up that facade for long, Seiya-san!^ Kakyuu mentally reprimanded. "I'll explain this all later, minna." Kakyuu assured Taiki and Yaten, who were looking at the other two strangely. ^Only Yaten has the ability to keep the facade from slipping about where you three really come from.^ Kakyuu told Seiya. ^Then what are Taiki and I supposed to do?^ Seiya asked in quiet despair. ^Just sit around while Yaten goes off and has the time of his life?^ ^You will receive further instructions when you get there. You know you "disguised" yourselves as men for a reason. Now you have a different reason.^ Kakyuu said, giving him a hard look. ^And just what are those reasons?^ Seiya retorted, scowling at his defiant princess. ^Three things. I'll let you figure out the rest.^ "Taiki-san, Yaten-san, Seiya-san, you must leave at once. Go gather whatever of your things you wish to have with you on earth and meet me back here in twenty minutes. You have people waiting for you." With that, Kakyuu rose from her chair and floated out of the room without giving any of the three men a chance to protest. They only looked at each other for a few minutes, each having their own un-answered questions hanging in the air. Seiya having more than the other two. Finally, they each left the room, one by one, to go back up their memories from their lives on their planet, and return to the place they had called home for such a short while. --ON EARTH-- "So I guess we *do* have a new enemy to fight against." Usagi mused out loud to herself after hearing Rei's story. "Looks like it's already gone on the offensive too." Makoto had shown up only a few minutes after the rest of them ad gotten there. "Andrew's fine," she reported, "just got hit on the head with something from the top shelf and had a bad dream." She said, making up the story for Andrew on the spot. Nobody said anything for a good hour, they were only lost in their thoughts. While the silence prevailed, Rei began to meditate. Halfway into her mantra, she felt a disturbance nearby. It was a very familiar disturbance, of a portal directly from the gates of time themselves opening. ^Setsuna-sama!^ She mentally screamed, welcoming the most mysterious of the outer senshi. ^What are you doing here? I thought you had forgotten about us! You said you were goi...^ An excruciating pain shot through Rei's head as she felt her messages being blocked out. "Oh my WORD!" Rei yelled, grabbing her head. "We've got some sort of a problem!" She exclaimed, standing up. "Setsuna-sama's back," "She's *back*?" Usagi exclaimed in surprise. "Yes, Usagi-chan, but I don't know why! I had just asked her what she was doing back when she blocked me!" Rei grimaced slightly, "now I have a major headache." Usagi scowled, her eyebrows knitting together in confusion. "I wonder why she would do that..." she mumbled. "Let me try something, okay Rei-chan?" Rei nodded and the scouts all formed a circle around her, now knowing just what it was she was going to try and do. ^Chibi-Usa-chan? Honey, are you there?^ Usagi thought, but there was no response. ^Chibi-Usa-chan? Puchi obasan?^ (AN-that would translate out to be small lady!) --The Future-- "Ami-chan! What's happening to her?" Neo-Queen Serenity sobbed as she leaned over her dreadfully ill daughter. "I don't know, Serenity-chan! Without Mamoru-san here I can't really think of anything! There is no reason why puchi obasan should be so sick, she was in perfect health!" Ami replied, looking at the various monitors that were connected to the small girl. "Your highness! Your highness, we have a message from your husband, Endymion!" An aide ran into the infirmary, waving an envelope with the Emperium Seal embossed on the back. Serenity grabbed the envelope from the aide and dismissed her before opening the letter. After skimming it quickly, her hand flew to her mouth in shock and the letter floated to the ground as Serenity lost her grip on it. "Endy-chan is sick also. He's dying and not even the Sage can do anything about his sickness!" Tears formed in Serentiy's eyes as she repeated the words the Sage had written. "It would be best to have Setsuna-sensei arrange..." she couldn't finish the sentance. "I will not do such a thing, your highess." A calm, vacant voice said from the doorway. "Setsuna-chan!" Serenity cried, running to her. "My queen, I refuse to do such a thing. Times will pass and change, I tought both you and puchi obasan that a long time ago, did I not?" Serenity nodded, wiping tears from her elegant face. "Yes, you did Setsuna-sensei, but why now with Chibi-Usa-chan is so sick?" she ran her fingers over her daughters forehead as she continued to toss and turn in her coma-like sleep. "This is the reason, Serenity. Times must change in order for time lines that were destroyed years ago to be restored. At two places in the past, two time lines intersect." Setsuna said, "Your past self made a decision that made one of the lines loop back, leaving this one open to any disturbances caused in the other." She went on to warn. A light dawned in Serenity's head. "This is a warning, isn't it? Something's going to happen?" Setsuna smiled sadly. "I must return to the gates. Things will be fine here, Serenity. I promise I will be here when our puchi obasan wakes." Tears formed in Serenity's eyes, her composure slipping once more. "We will all miss you very, very much." She said, sniffing. Setsuna said a hand on Serenity's shoulder. "You have your royal court and your royal guard here for you. You'll never be alone." Serenity's brow furrowed, 'Where have I heard that before?' she thought. "See? Even now the effects of the past are affecting the present. I have delayed my departure long enough." "Mommy! No, mommy don't go!" Chibi-Usa cried out in her sleep. Serenity rushed to her side. "Chronos, protect my daughter and my friend." She silently prayed. "Father Chronos! Open the gates and allow me passage to restore what was lost!" Setsuna shouted. In a brillian flash of light, she was gone. --The Present-- Usagi's eyes flew open in fear. "Chibi-Usa-chan!" she cried out in a panicked voice. The bond, the connection was there no doubt about it. Chibi-Usa just couldn't respond. "Rei-chan, keep trying to get Setsuna-sensei please! Something is very wrong with my baby!" Usagi cried. Rei nodded and went into the fire room. Luna appeared with Artemis in tow. "Usagi-chan, I don't know how to explain this to you. Diana is extremely worried about Chibi-Usa-chan. The most confusing thing right now is that Endymion, Mamoru-kun, is currently still alive in the future, though he is fading out quite quickly." Luna said. "Mamo-chan's alive in the future?" Usagi exclaimed. Artemis nodded. "Another weird thing is that when Mamoru-kun died here, Chibi-Usa-chan in the future didn't get affected, even though it did have an effect on the Chibi-Usa-chan of this time." 'Why does this sound awfully familiar?' Usagi thought. The looks on Minako's, Makoto's and Ami's faces showed that they were thinking the same thing. Rei came back out of the fire room and gave Usagi an apologetic look. Usagi looked down and scowled. "Well, it's late. I'd better go home." she said, then scooped Luna up into her arms and descended the temple stairs without so much as a goodbye. --Starlight's Planet-- "Are you all ready to go?" Kakyuu asked the three men standing before her. Seiya nodded slowly, while the other two shrugged. "I've instructed Setsuna-chan to take you to the Fountain of Youth so you won't miss us here as much." Kakyuu lied, then led the trio into the throne room where her mom and dad were waiting. "Ready?" Kakyuu's mom asked her. The King and Queen waited for the confirming nod. "Bye, Seiya-san! Tell Usagi-chan and Luna I said hello!" Kakyuu said as the devices used for transportation powered up. "Taiki- san... give Ami-chan my love and tell her I believe in her." Taiki bent down to give Kakyuu a farewell kiss on the cheek. "Yaten-san, follow your dreams and do what you want to do." Kakyuu gave Yaten his final hug and stepped out of the way just in time to watch them vanish. --Gates of Time-- "Halt! Who goes there?" Setsuna shouted, sensing 3 presences fast approaching the gates. "Setsuna-sensei! It is us!" Seiya called. "Setsuna-sensei!" Taiki and Yaten chorused as they spotted her. Setsuna smiled and nodded in greeting. "I have been told to take you tothe Fountain of Youth, that which flows of Ambrosia honey so sweet it creates all memories." she said. Immediately, the group of 4 found themselves at the river. "Drink." Setsuna instructed. One by one, Taiki, Yaten, and Seiya drank the sweet honey liquid and disappeared together. --The Present-- As Usagi and Luna walked home in the fading light, Usagi felt the urge to look up and did so. As if coming straight from the moon, she saw 3 streaks of light and watched them fade. 'I wish Seiya-san would come back.' Usagi wished. --The Future-- A light in the void of darkness appeared and grew. In the middle of the glowing orb of light was a small body wrapped in opaque purple ribbons of light. As the orb grew, the ribbons fused together to form the sailor fuku of the Messiah of Silence. "Wake up, my child." a gentle voice called. "The plan has been set in motion and it's time for you to take your place. Go to your friends and assist them in their journey."
