"Who are you? I have no memory of you." She said, advancing slowly, her glaive still pointing outwards. "Saturn, Hotaru-chan, if you do not remember at this time, I must not tell you. You will see me again. Now pass through, you know where to go." The 'new' scout took her time key and pointed it to the gates, a beam of light leading the way for Sailor Saturn. Saturn glanced at the light, then back at the woman. 'Where's Setsuna-chan?' she thought to herself, walking towards the gate. The strange woman continued the trail of light until just before Saturn entered the gate. Then with a simple whisper of a word, the light was gone, pulling Sailor Saturn along with it. ---THE FUTURE--- "Your Highess." Rei greeted, bowing to Serenity. Serenity regarded Rei carefully when she stood, noticing the troubled look and dark circles under her eyes. "Rei-chan, do not be so formal with me. You may be an Imperial Queen, and I may be the Neo Queen of the world but you are still my friend. Now, you do not look so good. Allow me to heal those lines under your eyes." Rei smiled a small smile at Serenity and allowed her to remove the darkness and the tired look from her face. She felt more energized than she had in weeks, but her outlook had not improved. The troubled look remained. "You... Serenity," Rei started, correcting herself mid-word. "I must admit your call was a surprise to me. I have been summoned by both Imperial Queen Minako and Imperial Queen Haruka already, but I did not expect you." Rei said, then sighed. "Ami alerted me about Chibi-Usa-chan and the leave of Setsuna-sensei." "What's this about Haruka-sama and Mina-chan?" Serenity asked, leading Rei to a couch where they could sit and talk comfortably. "Haruka-sama had a dream that she and Imperial Queen Michiru were going to be seperated in the near future. It was quite disturbing to her, considering all that you and Endymion had gone through." Rei said, hesitating at Endymion. "What about Mina-chan?" "Minako-chan had a dream similar to what yours turned out to be. It seemed like a memory from long ago, but it didn't make any sense. She didn't even know who was in it." Serenity sighed again, fear gripping her heart. "Setsuna-chan told me when she left that... that there were two time lines in the past that were destroyed, and now two parallel lines are beginning to intersect. She said it must happen in order to the lines from the past to be restored." Serenity felt tears sting her eyes. "What are these two lines? Why can't we remember who are in our dreams?" An aide walked up to Serenity, as if sensing she was going to make an announcement, but then said something first. "Imperial Queen Hino Rei, Your Highess, I bear a message from the vast majority of the population of Crystal Tokyo." Serenity nodded her permission to continue. "Many parents have gathered at the palace in concern. Last night it seems as if them and their children were troubled with very real, very happenable, and very memory-like dreams. They want answers and they want to know what is happening." Rei gasped and looked at Serenity. "Where are they located?" Serenity asked in a barely audible voice. "They are still outside. None of them dare approach the palace without an appointment." the aide said. Serenity nodded. "Call an assembly. Call in the Imperial Queens and their daughters too. Let Ami-chan know that she is needed, and summon the Sage to watch over Chibi-Usa during this assembly." ---THE PRESENT--- "Usagi-chan, where did Haruka-sama and Michiru-sama go to?" Ikuko asked as she came back in with the tea. Usagi only shrugged as she took the tea from her mom. Her bewildered look had faded, replaced by a sad one. An uncomfortable silence followed. ^Usagi-chan, we need to talk.^ ^Yes, we do, Seiya-kun.^ ^Meet me at the starlight tower tomorrow afternoon at one.^ ^Fine.^ Seiya glanced at Usagi, then to his comrades. "Okay guys, we'd better go. We still need to find a place to stay, you know." Hearing this, Ikuko spoke up. "Why don't you three stay here?" she asked. "My husband and son are out of town for a while, so we have plenty of room." she said. Seiya glanced at Usagi, but Usagi still sat there, unflincihg, unmoving, not even a trace of her old self. "Usagi-chan, are you all right?" Ikuko asked, finally noticing her daughters expression. "I'm fine, mama." Usagi replied, then yawned. "Just tired. I really need to go to bed. It's fine by me if they want to stay here. Goodnight." Finishing the last of her tea, Usagi stood up and silently ascended the stairs to her room. Seiya and Ikuko stared up after her while the other two, whom Ikuko and Seiya seemed oblivious to, stayed still. ^Yo, Seiya-kun, are we going to stay here or not?^ ^I don't know, Taiki-kun... I don't know if it'd be such a good idea or not.^ ^You heard Usagi-chan, Seiya-kun! She said it was fine.^ ^You don't know her like I do, Yaten-kun!^ Seiya snapped back. ^And the reason for that would be...?^ Seiya shot a death glare at Yaten. ^Shut up you son of a b**ch! You don't know what you're talking about!^ Yaten looked midly shocked. "Like I said, we have plenty of room. We have a guest bedroom and one of you could stay in my son's room. I'm not expecting them back for at least another month." Ikuko said, standing up from the seat she had taken when she had returned to the room with the tea. Taiki glanced at Seiya and he only shrugged, his face expressionless. Yaten nodded in response to Taiki's glance. "Sure, we'll stay here." Taiki said, ignoring the quiet sobbing he heard coming form upstairs. He saw Seiya slip out of the room from the corner of his eye. Yaten glanced back at Seiya, then to Taiki. "Just let us go get our things." ---THE FUTURE--- Serenity stood on the balcony facing the front of the palace, the Imperial Queens and the Neo-Sailor Scouts surrounding her. Many citizens of Crystal Tokyo waited patiently for Serenity to address them and explain things. Serenity took a deep breath and walked up to the front of the balcony to begin her assembly. "Citizens of Crystal Tokyo and the Imperial World of the new millennium, I come to you today, with fear in my heart and troubles on my mind. It has come to my attention that many of our young citizens have been troubled with uncertain dreams. As it is, Imperial Queen Aino Minako and Imperial Queen Ten'oh Haruka have been troubled along with our young citizens." At this statement, the whole crowd began to stir. Serenity was silent as she watched the disorder grow. She stepped back and let Rei take her place. "Silence!" Rei shouted. The chaos began to die down and Rei was able to speak. "I have not been able to come to any conclusions about the source or meaning of the dreams. It is a mystery to me right now, especially in the absence of Setsuna-sensei and Neo-King Endymion." The crowd remained silent, even at this shocking bit of news. Serenity sighed and closed her eyes as Rei continued talking. When Rei was done, Serenity took her place once more. "Until Chibi-Usa-chan wakes, we have no way to summon Pegasus to save these childrens dreams." There was a stirring in the crowd and it moved forwards until a small girl burst forward from the crowds. "Your Highness, I believe I may have a way to summon the Pegasus to save us from these dreams." the girl said, looking up to Serenity and her court. Serenity looked down at the girl below her. She was a civilian but she had obviously studied the royal ways. She weilded herself as if she *was* part of the royal family. "And what is your name, child?" she asked, softly. "My name is Joukaino Wakusei. I am the daughter of the deceased Joukaino Naeomi and also deceased, Joukaino Sharek. I am fifteen years old, and have been studying the royal family and their history avidly for the past seven years. It interests me greatly, particularly Chibi-Usa-san's connection with the Pegasus Guardian Helios. Among my studies I have found clues that select few aside from the Maiden may summon Helios, those that are part of a special part in the history of the time lines. I do not wish to think I am one of these special descendants, but I do believe I know enough to attempt a summoning." Serentiy motioned for a guard to activate a teleportation device. "Ms. Joukaino, prepare for teleportation to the balcony." she said, smiling. She glanced at Rei, but Rei only shrugged. The girl arrived on the balcony a moment later. Rei studied her carefully as Serenity closed the assembly after announcing when the ceremonies for Endymion would take place. Serenity place a hand on Wakusei's shoulder and led her inside the palace. The orphaned girl looked up and around in awe, as if she was maybe five instead of 15. "Now, Wakusei-san, I assume you are the last descendant of your family?" Serenity inquired after using the crystal to do a bit of soul searching. Wakusei nodded, not showing any form of surprise at Serenity's ability to know that. "You know our whole history almost inside out, from Sailor Moon's first battle up until now? You do not know why, but you feel drawn to the past of my court and myself, almost as if it will give you some guidance to your future, am I right?" Serenity went on. Wakusei only nodded again, and looked at the floor. "When my parents died and I was sent to the orphanage, I was not lacking in any way except for a family and things to do that could keep my attention. I ended up wandering one day into the libraries and finding the old Sailor V comics." She whispered. Serenity felt touched by Wakusei's words. 'Well she got one of the things she needed. I wonder if we could give her the other.' she thought. She turned to Rei. ^Rei-chan, contanct the Crystal City Orphanage about adopting this sweet child. Chibi-Usa-chan will most likely want a companion with Setsuna-sensei's and Hotaru-chan's absence.^ Rei merely turned and left the room, preparing to call the Orphanage and fill out the forms for Serenity. Serenity turned back to Wakusei and smiled. "I'm very interested in seeing what you can do, dear one. First, however, I do believe it is time for dinner preperations. Mako-chan, since you are here, would you like to prepare something for our guest?" Serenity said, turning to her friend. Imperial Queen Kino Makoto nodded eagerly and hurried from the room towards the kitchen. "Mina-chan, would you mind showing Wakusei-san where she will be staying while here? I have some business in the infirmary I must attend to." Serenity said. Imperial Queen Minako nodded and led Wakusei down the hallway and into the senshi quarters, seeing how if Wakusei was telling the truth and was, in fact, able to summon Pegasus, would rank her powers up with Chibi-Usa's, who was Neo-Sailor Moon. "Ami-chan, come with me to check on Chibi-Usa-chan please." Serenity requested, and she and Ami returned down the hallway through which they had come back to the Infirmary where the Sage was waiting with dire news for the two. "Your Highness, Imperial Queen Mizuno Ami." the Sage said, bowing to each of them respectfully. "I have some bad news for you, Serenity." he continued. "Chibi-Usa-chan seems to be fading in and out of existance. One second she was here, the next she wasn't, but then the next she was back again. I think Setsuna-sensei was right when she said that some things desperately needed to be fixed." Serenity strugged to maintain her composure in front of the Sage, but failed miserably. "I hope we aren't too late to save this little one. If not, you have Wakusei. She posesses a great power that not even I know of." the Sage went on. Serenity looked at the Sage, confused, but didn't press on since he had said that not even he knew about the power Wakusei had inside of her. "Do you know anything of her quest for guidance of her future?" Serenity asked. The Sage nodded and smiled grimly. "That you will only learn in time, as will she. I have strict orders from Setsuna-sensei to tell you to keep an eye on her, and for any new visitors that may be the signal to release Wakusei's full power. Things are moving fast in the past, and that may cause some major disruptions here in the present. Among those may be the re-awakening of the Dead Moon Circus, and maybe even the re-grouping of Chaos." Serenity closed here eyes and felt her throat tighten and heart start pounding in fear. She remembered her last battle against the entity known as Chaos, and before that, Neherenia. Both had taken someone very dear to her, who couldn't be taken this time. At Chaos' battle, though... 'Wait a second!' Serenity thought in alarm. 'I don't know who he's talking about, yet I remember battling them!' her eyes clouded in confusion as she looked at the Sage, but the Sage remained silent. "Your answers will come in time, dear queen." the Sage said, softly. "Trust in yourself and in Setsuna-sensei. Hotaru-chan is in the past helping her get things set up for the final transfer of your current life into what was your true destiny all along. I must part now but if you have any questions that I may be able to answer, or anything more happens to this dear one, please alert me and summon me here so I may do what I can to be of assistance. I am gone." With that, the Sage disappeared in a brillian flash of light, leaving Serenity, a shocked Ami, and a fading Chibi-Usa alone in the infirmary's intensive care unit. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Okay, sorry I didn't get this one in last week!
