Normally picnickers would be all over the place, but the rainy monsoon days of summer had kicked in, driving them all away. But the rain didn't bother me. The warm drops plopped onto my skin, causing my school uniform to stick to my skin. I sat there pondering, pondering insane thoughts. How insane? Try figuring out how to kill fate. Why Fate? Because, she's a bitch. Why? Well, let me tell you a story of a girl I used to know, named Aino Minako..... When she was born, her parents adored her. She had light blonde hair and blue eyes that mirrored her mother. They were in Japan, since they were Japanese, and named her Minako. She was the apple of their eyes for those next three days. Then they went back to New York City, where Minako's Swedish au pair was waiting. The little girl found herself raised by a new college aged au pair every year. Her parents came home once or twice a year. When Minako was five, they left their comfortable brownstone to move to London. Minako hoped so feverently that her parents would now love her, and cherish her.... When she was ten, the last au pair came and left. Minako's parents were still travelling around, right now they were in Bushumbura. She hadn't seen them for two years. Minako was a joyous child, who disquised her tears with smiles, her pain with a cheerful high normally achieved by having too many Frappicinos. Minako's grades were good, her artwork spectacular, and she dreamed of being a star, and having her parents love her. When she was twelve, she adopted a white cat. He told her that she was really the Venusian Princess and she had to fight as Sailor V against the enemy. A story we all know too well. When Minako moved to Tokyo, things looked up. The cat, Artemis, hooked her up with the rest of the Sailor Scouts. She now had people that could kind of understand her. If she just locked away certain memories, she could be normal..... Those memories stayed locked away, until a force known as the Black Moon came, bringing a small girl who cried for her mother. That small girl reminded the warrior of herself at age six, running around, crying for her mother. Minako was close to the child known as ChibiUsa, the future Princess of Crystal Tokyo, due to this. The memories still were locked up tight, until Minako went to Crystal Tokyo with the Small Lady. There, she met a man, tall and strong, with eyes that she drowned in. The man was a prince, fitting for a princess. Only two things blocked her from him. The first was his love for the Queen, Serenity. The second was his siding, for he was the enemy. The ai no senshi found herself only thinking of the prince. She soon found her love, that was taken away only days afterwards. The killer had paid, but Minako had given up more than her heart and virginity. She gave up her soul. Her soul died, her heart broke, and now the senshi of love was sitting on a hill, staring at the city she lived in. Her parents were now in Guadaloupe, for a vacation. They never invited her. Her friends were at a Senshi meeting, they'd expelled her yeseterday. They claimed that she didn't care for them, or her job. They said that since she was keeping something from them, that she didn't trust them, that they couldn't trust her. She wondered how long the mail delivery would take. She wondered how Artemis would do. In the letter, she told him to stay with Rei, she needed him more. She loved her cat like a father. The cat had been the only father figure she'd ever had. Her dream of being a star was dead and buried, back in London. Her love was buried, on Nemesis. She'd soon be with him. I picked up the knife, while reflecting on the sad story of my life. I was playing with a white rose, that seemed to have blue in it, be the colour of his hair... I fiddled with my heart necklace, rubbing my fingers over the inscription on the back of it. I drew the knife over my wrist, right over the vein. A small smile crossed my lips as I saw the blood rise out. Some of it dripped on the rose. "Tsk, tsk. If you wanted to do it, there's a million easier ways." The blood loss was fast... I was hearing things. Suddenly, my arm had a bit of warmth on it, not from the crimson liquid. It was a hand, storng and large, one I knew well. Part of me refused to believe that he was here, alive. But all of me wanted to. So I did. He waved the hand over the wound, causing it to heal. "Di-Dimando?" I asked, confused. He stood there, in the rain, his hair sticking to his face. "I'm here, Minako-chan." I stared, sure that there were now hearts in my eyes. "Fate isn't as much of a bitch as you'd like to believe." At this, his lips were on mine, kissing me, pressing against mine, hungry. I kissed him back, with hunger and desparation, afraid that once I opened my eyes, he'd disappear, and I'd wake up, finding this was the dream that tortured me. He was the one to draw back, his hand resting on my cheek, playing with my hair. "You're shivering." He took his purple cape, and wrapped it around my body, holding me close to him. I shut my eyes, breathing in his scent, listening to his heartbeat... He really was alive.... "Aishiteru...." I murmered, snuggling deeper into his chest. "Aishiteru, Princess." He murmered back, then stood up, bringing me with him. "Ready to go?" I looked at the city, and back at him. I nodded, and sealed it with a kiss. ************************************************************************ "Usagi? Usagi, bunny, there's a letter for you!" I looked up from my desk. Mamoru, who'd dragged me up at the insightly hour of 1:30 on a Saturday afternoon to study handed it to me. It was addressed to me in Minako's handwriting. Dear Usagi, Hi, there! It's me, Minako. I'm sorry that I didn't tell you yesterday, but I'm leaving. I'm letting Artemis stay with Rei, she'll make a good replacement for me. Don't try to contact me, I won't be availble. This is Fate, so don't blame yourself. I just want to say that I'm happy where I am now, and loved. I need to tell you this, since I'm telling the rest: I don't really know how to put this, so,... I'm in love with Prince Dimando. He's in love with me. He died, and I think I kinda died with him. I'd do anything to be with him, and that's what I'm doing. Besides, I'll be happier. Usagi, you're a great leader and friend. Someday, I know you'll be a wonderful Queen. Give Mamoru my best wishes. Please, don't blame yourself. I know you will. Love Always, Aino Minako I turned, looking into my prince's blue eyes, and cried. I'd finally lost her. Picking up the phone, I dialed Rei, while Mamo-chan, patted my back, hugging me. I could tell that he was crying also. "Moshi-moshi." The wavery greeting came from the other end of the phone. "Rei?" I asked, and we both burst into tears. ************************************************************************ he he... whaddya think? e-mail me, please, or see if I ever continue this story... or post my venus/diamond fanart.
