Episode 2: Enter the Dancer *** The girl surrounded by boxes straightened and stretched, her chin length blonde hair swinging into her face. She pushed it back absently and surveyed the halfway unpacked boxes around her. "Poof!" she whispered, wishing them away. No such luck. She listened a moment to the banging and muttering coming from the kitchen. "Oh, heck, Merlyn, let's just go out tonight," a voice called wearily. The girl smiled. "I knew it," she thought, slipping on her shoes and heading for the car. Later that night, she couldn't sleep. School started Monday, in two days, and she didn't know anyone. "What if nobody likes me? What if I can't find my way around?" she thought glumly. "I miss my old school!" Still restless, she quietly slipped into some clothes and crept out into the night. But before leaving she picked up a pink and blue pen with a star in the top and tucked it carefully into her pocket. *** "Ah! Help!" I ran, trying to put some space between myself and the latest monster I fought. I snatched up a chair and threw it in the creature?s path, but that didn?t seem to phase it. I kept running, but I was tiring, I couldn?t keep this up much longer. Just as the monster was about to spring on me and probably easily end my life, I was swept away, carried in someone?s arms. I blinked and looked up. "Tuxedo Rose!" I cried happily. "You saved me!" He smiled down at me. "Always, Sailor FlowerPower." He set me down carefully, on a ledge higher up. "Just call me," he whispered, and disappeared. I watched after him. Wow... Just then I heard the creature cry out in anger at the loss of it?s prey, me! I looked down in apprehension, then a second something occurred. A bright pink beam appeared out of the shadows and struck the monster with enough force that it was thrown back against the wall, unconscious. I took the opportunity to finish it off. "Flower Tiara Action!" My tiara went flying, struck the creature full force, and turned it to dust! "Triumphant again!" I cried, clapping my hands. Suddenly, I remembered the pink beam and looked to the dark corner. But all I saw was a bit of pink skirt disappearing through a doorway. "Another Senshi?" I wondered. I smiled and tilted my head to one side, watching. It was first hour on the first day of school, and I had discovered a wonderful surprise. Tristan Andres, the cutest guy (or so I thought) in school, was in that class. And he was sitting -right next- to me! I was thrilled. It was so cute, he?d walked up, looked at me and smiled. "This seat taken?" he?d asked. Speechless, I'd just shaken my head. "Thanks, Sunny," he?d said, and smiled again, setting down his books and then himself. Something else interesting happened too. We had a new teacher, Ms. Amy Stone. She was nice, young, and really pretty, with jet black hair and violet eyes. She told us to call her Ms. Amy. I liked her, but she reminded me of someone, though I couldn?t quite put my finger on it. So we were all chatting before the bell rang. Amberle finally walked in at the last minute, primped from head to toe. I waved madly until she noticed me and walked over to sit next to me. She plopped down, smiled and me and started chattering away. "Ooo, Sunny, guess what?" she gushed. "There was the cutest guy..." She went on without letting me answer. I smiled. Same old Amberle. She finally took notice of the day?s grin factor, my other seat mate. "Sunny! Why didn?t you tell me?" she asked excitedly. I smiled in response. "You wouldn?t let me." We laughed. I like school starting. I know that may sound surprising, but it?s true. Last Saturday?s adventure was resting steadily in my mind, overshadowing my excitement. Not that I wasn?t excited, but that?s what was causing it. I wore the Locket all the time now, I wondered when my next encounter would be. I?d finally heard of Sailor Moon, she was doing her job in Japan, of all places! But that made me wonder, was she the more important Senshi? After all, I discovered after I did some research, that was a word from her language. Artemis and Sailor Venus came from there too. I wondered why I, a Satellite Senshi, as I had come to call myself now, was not there. But I supposed my part of the world needed protecting too. I felt honored and excited to be special like this, I wondered how Sailor Moon felt. So, the first day of school was over. And when it was out, thankfully, I grabbed up my friends, and we all headed to the local hang out spot - The Grapevine. Commonly known as the 'Vine,' the little coffee shop was the place for gossip, studying, romance, you name it. We chose a cozy little corner booth and talked about our first day of school news, or lack of. "It was way too cool." "I couldn?t believe it!" "I took an hour to..." "How could someone be so mean?" "However did you manage?" "It?s new, I love it!" We chatted easily for an hour or so. At about 4:45, I looked to the clock. "Oh NO!" I cried in horror. "I?m -so- late! Mom?s gonna kill me! Hello - I mean g?bye!" I shouted and dashed out on everyone. I was -never- late! Running back to my house from the Vine is no fun. It?s a long way, even running. I caught myself halfway there and stopped. "This is no good!" I gasped. There was no way I was gonna get out of this one. I sighed in defeat and turned around to go back to a bench I just passed. Just then I saw it, that flash of pink skirt again. "Huh?" I voiced. "Who...?" I turned down an ally and followed, curious. Following sounds now as well, I finally reached the other side. There I came face to face with an extremely surprising sight: A tiny pink and blue Senshi fighting a monster. I clapped a hand to my mouth. "There?s more?" I thought wildly. The little fighter was not doing so well. She was finally flung back against the wall. I had to do something. From my hiding place... "Flower Prism Power," I raised a hand, the Flower Locket held tightly in it, "Make Up!" And transformed. I rushed around the side of the building, to the aide of the new Senshi. I grabbed her arm and pulled her out of harm?s way, just as a bolt from the creature smashed into the wall right where she?d been sitting. She looked up at me. She had chin length blonde hair, and blue eyes, staring up at me out of a tiny elfin face. Her Sailor suit was skirted in pink, with collar and ballet shoes the same. The front and back bows were light blue, and the jewel in the tiara was pink. She seemed to me more like a dancer then a Senshi. "You - you?re a Senshi too, aren?t you?" I asked. "Huh? Senshi?" she repeated. I smiled kindly. "You?re a fighter for peace and love, like me! A Sailor Senshi, Satellite Senshi!" She nodded slowly. I suddenly heard a familiar voice above us. "Sailor FlowerPower, you have a new companion, to help you in your fight against the Dark Kingdom!" Tuxedo Rose said from the fire escape. "She is the Sailor Senshi of Titania, Moon of Uranus!" "Sailor Titania?" I wondered. But the thought was quickly shattered as the monster attacked again. I pulled the new Senshi along behind me, stumbling. The monster came at us, but was stopped by the blue rose thrown in it?s path. The pink Senshi looked at it and the creature?s reaction in surprise. "How dare you harm these two, and disturb the sacred peace! For this I cannot forgive you, and you will be punished!" He nodded to me. I nodded back and stood. "I may have a new ally today, and you try to destroy her first? In this you have broken a peace, and you cannot be forgiven! In the name of Thalassa, I?ll punish you! I am Sailor FlowerPower!" I shouted. The girl stood beside me. "I now know my place, here, as a fighter for love and peace! I am the Sailor Senshi of the satellite Titania, moon of Uranus! I am Sailor Stardance, and on behalf of Titania, I?ll punish you!" We stood back to back. "We are the Satellite Senshi, you cannot be forgiven!" we shouted in unison. Sailor Stardance brought a hand toward the hesitating creature. "Starlight Step!" she cried, and a beam of pink light struck the monster with enormous force, sending it flying backward to land in a heap. I gasped, she was more powerful than she looked. Then I remembered my unseen rescuer from the day before, and the pink beam. That was her! "Now Sailor FlowerPower, finish it!" she shouted. "Right!" I took my tiara in hand. "Flower Tiara Action!" Flinging the shimmering disc at the crippled monster, it hit full force and in moments the monster glittered away into nothing. "Well done you two! Keep working together like that, and the Dark Force cannot prevail! Farewell!" Tuxedo Rose called, and then, with a flutter of his cape, he was gone. I sighed. "Sailor FlowerPower," Sailor Stardance said wonderingly. "I thought I was the only one like this." I grinned. "So did I! I?m glad you?re here," I stated, extending a hand, which she took warmly. "Me too!" She smiled. And I knew I?d made not just a new ally, but a friend.
